My fellow Kundrati.

We are at war.

Kirlawa has launched a devastating and evil gas attack upon our National Homeland. Not in our history of the Republic have we been directly attacked by our neighbors and by our friends. We have been lucky to have declared an evacuation yet there are still hundreds effected on all sides and likely thousands more too.

This is their first strike. This is their attack. We have been preparing for this day and yet we have seen criticism because of this from behind and from the back hallways. They say we are warmongers, we are overreacting, that we have caused what has happened now. They say that Kundrati is imperialist, that this is clear proof as day that we are an imperialist power. They claim that we have forced Kirlawa to strike and that our merciful quarantine was the real first strike.

[As commotion rises from the members of the Legislature, Bidanda raises his voice for this section.]

And now we have had our fears proven! This is an attack (empathsis on this part)! When your nation is attacked the only response is to strike back.

This is the fault of the military forces of the Kirlawan state. Therefore, I announce Operation Saighdiúirí na Saoirse, or Soldiers of Freedom. The objective is to make sure Kirlawa never does this again, for it is very likely due to our intelligence assets and information that their unusual movements on their side of the border are military movements that could result in more of our Kundratijans and Dundorfians and more to be subject to this assault. All land, air, and sea forces of the Kundrati Union shall be tasked with this purpose.

We have seen teenagers of the Kirlawan state being forced into war as well. They should be allowed to go to the club and enjoy thier lives and yet they are being ordered to fire a gun and ensure that they throw their lives away for their state. The state dares to hide themselves with the reports of censorship and attacks on journalists. Is this not what we Artanians and Terrans fight against?

I will lead our men and women into this fight however hard it shall be. Already other nations have offered their assistance which shall be taken into consideration.

To all of my fellow Kundratijans I tell you this not as the President but as a fellow Kundrati man. If my children were stabbed I would want the perpretator to be caught and punished. This shall be done.

Yet we must also recognize the unendurable. We must endure it. We must endure the unendurable and understand the inevitable. Only then can we come out of this as true Artanians and Terrans.

"Operation Saighdiúirí na Saoirse" sees some success as the Kundrati Navy launches into action

Kundrati and Dundorfian forces marched forward into Kirlawa within the last two days wearing gas masks and the like as Dundorf marched with their divisions towards the enemy, turning a Kirlawan advance into a retreat though being careful with the mustard gas in the area.

Measures were also taken by Kundrati troops who have reported symptoms associated with mustard gas. Already some troops have been sent home with one reportedly dead already. However, measures like removing clothing and thoroughly cleaning skin and uniforms have helped to stem the yellow tide that mustard gas comes in. This caused some delays on the ground front, but it was our airmen and airwomen who have bravely went into the battle who have seen more success.

The various air wings assigned to Lirnak and Peghonai have moved against Kirlawan air forces with the latest Askatasunera multirole plane showing good performance and securing air superiority early in parts of the shared border between Kundrati and Dundorf. Kirlawan air assets have been downed in good numbers however as both air forces share similar equipment a good amount of Kundrati planes have been downed. The latter has mostly been seen in areas near the Kirlawan cities of Velreata and Chromide in the east however much more success has been seen in the western part of the border with the expectation that air superiority will be ensured in western Nuchtmark by the end of the week.

After the chaos of the ground situation had subsided with gas masks being worn and extra preparations being made to ensure soldiers wouldn't be easily subject to mustard gas and other gasses, and after dealing with a Kirlawan thrust towards Elvomesto in Lirnak, Kundrati armored forces (most notably the 2nd Lirnak Division and 3rd Armored Division "Lirnak") have pushed hard and have even taken a good couple miles of Nuchtmark as a bridgehead. Similar moves have been seen in the east hear Chromide with much more resistance. However, Kundrati forces have made good work there as more units from Peghonai and Pilgon have been observed moving towards the area.

The KuNS Keita-class landing platform docks (four in all) have all been sent to the area with at least 1,600 soldiers and a few hundred APCs and a good amount of battle tanks and helicopters. They are expected to land in the Kirlawan coast within some time.

Speaking of the navy, the following announcement has been made regarding the Kirlawan EEZ:

As of today, the entire Kirlawan country shall be considered a war zone. This includes the EEZ that Kirlawa occupies. The area that Kirlawa occupies shall be treated as such and, as a result, the Kundrati Union and their partners shall ensure that Kirlawa be unable to fuel the machines of war.

Thus only naval forces associated with the Kundrati Union, the Holy Luthorian Empire, and other forces that the alliance sees fit to include shall be allowed to transit within the EEZ. Any other ships seen in the area will be seen as hostile and will be sunk if those ships do not respond to two official warnings by naval command or attempt to hinder or speed towards the Kirlawan coast.

Ships who wish to provide humanitarian assistance to the Kirlawan people may, however, do so without hindrance by the alliance only if they transit to the ports of Kirla and Telon. A twenty-five nautical mile wide zone shall be established within these two ports leading from the mentioned ports to the end of the Kirlawan EEZ in order to ensure humanitarian shipments can be made. Ships shall be subject to inspection and shall be turned back if they contain gold or weapons.

The KuNS Quintinus Vespacius has begun to launch their Askatasunera planes towards Kirlawa with reports that planes have seen combat dogfighting other Kirlawan plaes and bombing targets set by Allink, a Beiteynuese satelite cooperative. The targets have mostly been set to known military base locations, military units identified through recon, and government buildings. Some planes have been downed, however, but this has been expected. Other naval ships have begun bombardments of identified naval bases in the area and have begun targetting other Kirlawan naval ships with the help of some air units tasked with this purpose, though with not much success as some Kirlawan navy ships have fought back to the point of retreat for Kundrati naval and air assets.

Kundrati forces take a majority of the state of Nuchtmark as Kirlawan capital falls to Dundorfian forces

As Kundrati soldiers snaked through Kirlawan territory, wary of future gas attacks and having their gas masks at the ready, resistance has been growing softer day by day as Kundrati, Luthori and Dundorf air attacks have slowly destroyed the Kirlawan air defenses. Reportedly, Nuchtmark and most of Merkan is under the air superiority of Kundrati, Dundorf and Luthori as Askatasuneras flew with Unionfighters of Dundorf and the Luthorian fighter jets to, increasingly, down Kirlawan air forces which are using mostly planes supplied by Kundrati, which were supplied during a more peaceful time.

Kundrati soldiers thus, within the last two weeks, dealt with resistance in most of Nuchtmark which have slowly withered away as fatigue has been shown by Kirlawan forces. By 9 July most of western Nuchtmark was under allied control as soldiers from Peghonai moved past the towns of Velresta and Chromide which met some difficulty after resistance in those areas which were quickly liquidated, especially in Chromide after naval bombardment by Kundrati naval assets.

Thus, by 12 July Kundrati soldiers had taken Chromide and had surrounded Velreata which surrendered later in the day. Prisoners of war were taken and some soldiers were left behind to maintain the peace alongside taking over the government and nearby military facilities. Humanitarian supplies have been rushed not only to the rural areas but also to Chromide and Velreata with food, water, blankets and other home supplies, clothing and more donated from the Kundrati government. The humanitarian supply may continue towards the land bridge and towards areas currently occupied by Dundorf should Dundorf's government give the go ahead. Work is also going on to restore Chromide's port facilities to allow humanitarian supplies to flow in.

As soldiers had taken Chromide and Velresata, alongside parts of rural western Nuchtmark, it was decided to march towards the state of Dirguzia which is north of Nuchtmark alongside sending troops to assist Dundorf in taking the capital. Thus, armored and infantry units (most notably the 2nd Armored Division "Peghonai" and the 1st and 2nd Lirnak Divisions) rushed into the state of Merkan which is west of Nuchtmark. However much resistance was met which forced more Kundrati assets to be assigned to the area which as of now have still not been enough.

However, Dundorfian forces had taken the capital at some point in between our updates. Thus resistance softened a lot more in Nuchtmark to the point where, though Kirlawan forces had managed to move Kundrati forces back to where Kundrati forces now held half of Nuchtmark, the Kundrati and Dundorfian forces had made a land bridge inside Kirlawa which meant that Kundrati forces can move west and Dundorf forces can move east.

A bombing campaign has also begun from Kundrati towards the port city of Telon and the towns of Luthi, Eshileo and Cadoria alongside all roadways and areas in between in an attempt to soften air resistance in these cities. The bombings are restrained towards known military bases and government buildings alongside highways, power plants, and other civilian infrastructure. Air forces had to be careful in Eshileo as Dundorfian forces were operating there. In Caderia, there was much more air resistance reportedly resulting in more losses in that air campaign for Kundrati than that of the rest of the war, though highways leading to Caderia have seen more damage as a result alongside nearby infrastructure. The rest of the air campaign has seen much more success.

Rocket forces are also in action as some Lourennaise Mistral 3rd-gen Missile Systems and Deltaria's rocket artillery were slowly integrated into the war. Rockets were used in the Telon and Luthi offensives with reported success.

The total exclusion zone (TEZ) has started to work much more now that Luthorian and Kundrati naval assets combined reportedly caused more trade ships to comply with the new measures. Pirates operating in the area have had less success as some of their ships, which had violated the terms of the TEZ, were sunk after two warnings.

The KuNS Keita-class ships are now all operating in the Kirlawan EEZ preparing to land in Kirlawa. Kundrati's Northern Fleet and Carrier Fleet have begun a campaign to attack Kirlawa's Navy operating in the area which has seen success as, in a battle on 7 July, two of Kirlawa's naval ships have sunk into the ocean and another two ships have been damaged enough to force a retreat. Kundrati naval forces did have a patrol boat sink and damage to other ships which forced the Kundrati forces out of following Kirlawan naval ships in their retreat. After a week Kundrati naval forces in the north had begun bombardment of the port cities of Telon, Chrisalya and Elmhodha with additional air assets from the Carrier Fleet in Telon and Chrisalya.

Kundrati to build advanced frigate and indigenous submarine program

Leonida Rufrius Mendico has reportedly been seen as one of Kundrati's greatest commanders, personally leading forces in Badara to liberating the country from ultra-Ahmadist forces alongside commanding Kundrati ships in assisting her allies in Kafuristan's crisis. This was around four decades back.

Now he shall be honoured much more as, in an announcement today, the Kundrati Navy stated that they would add six more frigates to their arsenal to slowly replace the aging Kotor frigates that Kundrati uses. This would mean that, should the Leonida Rufrius Mendico-class frigates launch soon, the Kundrati Navy would have ten frigates in it's arsenal.

The Leonida Rufrius Mendico-class reduces noise by having power plants mounted on anti-vibration mounts alongside ballistic resistant steel in the hull. Alongside these new defense measures the ships are able to track "...hundreds of airborne targets simultaneously as part of its air defence network." The ship can carry 201 persons at a range of 4.5k nautical miles and can even carry a helicopter.

The Leonida Rufrius Mendico-class frigates, 6 ordered, is expected to again replace the Kotor frigates that Kundrati uses and is expected to be sent to all of her fleets with three in the Southern Fleet, one for the Northern Fleet and two for the Carrier Fleet. The Navy will start to see these ships from 5465 onwards with the last one expected for 5472.

Meanwhile, a indigenous Kundrati submarine project has been in the works for a long while. To work on such a project a submarine from Kalistan was ordered long ago and even now Kundrati forces are still training in that submarine before transitioning to Astute-class submarines provided by Luthori for their fleets. Work has now begun on the latest in Kundrati naval design with the Celania-class submarine.

The Celania-class submarine is designed for anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, recon work, naval base defense, and defense of seashore and sea lanes with top speeds of 21 knots submerged. The submarine will have a capacity of 35 and is designed for a 45-day endurance who can use an automated combat control system in case of warfare. The Celania-class has a range of 7.5k nautical miles.

Kundrati minority government announces "Truth and Reconciliation Commission" to investigate Beiteynuse and foreign influence on Kundrati

A shocking book was released some time earlier which has shaken the Kundrati public to it's core. The book detailed how the Kundrati Miracle, the economic push that made Kundrati from an Artanian backwater to an Artanian superpower, was initiated because of Beiteynuese betrayal of the Kundrati Union and controlling the politics of the country via the Hulanevek family, killing them if need be.

An anonymous spokesperson for the Hulanevek Trust, the controllers of the Hulanevek estate, commented on the book:

This book is nothing but lies. It is lies and slander created by Dorvish syncophants who think that they can cast away the Stewardship (Beiteynu-Kundrati alliance) with mere lies and misunderstandings. The honourable Bruahilan Hulanevek did die of murder but by the hands of Haldor and the Hosian Conservative Alliance for trying to bring Kundrati away from their eagle. The Ambassador to Beiteynu was killed in an unfortunate accident. This book just tries to strifle destruction of the honourable Stewardship which has led all of Terra for the last few centuries.

Yet Kasaema doesn't see it this way. Reports are slowly coming in to our offices that a Federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission (FTRC) has been formed by the minority government of Kundrati Democracy, currently in power as a lame duck government as the Civil Libertarian Party and the Union of Kundrati Minorities, two parties likely to form a new government, have not done so yet.

The FTRC aims to branch off the Beiteynu Investigation launched in 5374 and which has not concluded yet due to the vast paperwork that such an investigation into Beiteynu would entail. Using the BI's evidence and team the FTRC intends to investigate what influence Beiteynu had and has on Kundrati and whether or not the Stewardship was beneficial for both sides or just for Beiteynu.

The Hulaneveks have promised full cooperation alongside descendents of the prime players of the scope of the investigation, defined as from 5180 to current date.

Going back to the released book, public opinion has turned on the Stewardship. A recent poll stated that as of now 67% of those polld thought the Stewardship benefitted only Beiteynu while 23% thought that the Stewardship was beneficial for both sides. Social media has also blown up with the hashtags #stewardshipliars, #kundratindependent and #nomoredorviks blowing up on local social media services. The fact that Beiteynu joined up with Dorvik (and Lourenne) in their "triumverate" also has popped up once again with full force with claims going around that Beiteynu only joined the triumverate in order to throw Kundrati and Luthori away to be left for the Dorvish. Such conspiracy theories have grown over the years but have now popped up in full force.

The President of Kundrati, nor the minority government, could not be reached for comment.

Federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission announces subpoenas for Beiteynuese House of Elior and their monarch, alongside the Hulanevek family

In a stunning announcement this morning the head of the recently made Federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission's head, noted Ikradonian-Kundratijan Jakobus van Slooten announced that the royal family of Beiteynu, the House of Elior, will be provided subpoenas and required to testify in Kundrati or a Kundrati embassy on their knowledge of any action which could have swayed Kundrati national and foreign policy. The book which kickstarted this investigation, the Meddling Affairs series, indicated that the House of Elior has been responsible for some actions including the murder of two Kundrati nationals and implicating others to cover their tracks.

The Hulanevek family has os been sent subpoenas as well to investigate their involvement in swaying Kundrati policy in favor of Beiteynu.

In the court of public opinion, however, the Eliors and Hulaneveks have been sentenced to death. Public perception inside Kundrati has already condemned the duo for their involvements and actions which, according to the public, put shame on the Kundrati Union. Public approval levels for the duo have dropped below 30% as of the announcement of the FTRC investigation.

A major leak has been sent to our offices and spread throughout local social media.

In the audio leak, men seemingly from the banking and military sectors of Beiteynu talk about how Sneakith Avody, implicity, may be involved in the TMA books which have shaken the Stewardship to it's core. That is the current opinion of the leaker, though the Kasaema Guardian does not confirm it. However, a more concerning thought followed: "Then take out Kasaema" and "...choose our method: implode or explode?" by a third voice.

The audio leak ends there, but the Kasaema Guardian gained access to later parts of the meeting, which ended with Kasaema having "...one other ally besides Beiteynu..." by an unknown voice.

Social media in Kundrati has blown up with the thought that Beiteynu was controlling Kundrati's internal affairs and that Beiteynu would plan to strike back in some way. Another concern has grown, however: that the Beiteynuese military and government, renowned for their efficiency, was being controlled by an internal group of high families with the guess that the Aristocrats, the Tzafrirs, Keshefs, Benowitz, and Goldblooms were the ones not only controlling Beiteynu but also potentially being the voices in the leak. This is, however, an educated guess due to the power and wealth of these families inside Beiteynu.

Kundrati's Federal Truth and Reconciliation Commission has commented that they have also obtained the leaks and will be investigating. The families mentioned above have been given subpoenas as a response. In addition, the FTRC intends to work with the Yeudish Bureau of Investigations to do a joint task force investigating Beiteynuese influence on Kundrati and, potentially, private sector influence on Beiteynu itself.

Until then, the FTRC members have been given extra protection by the police in their houses, the schools their children go to, and bodyguard protection in recognition of the potential harm that they could experience in their investigation.
