Operation Golden Eagle

Today the Union got another victory. Unionist pilots and intelligence officers located all of the IRK's air bases. This happened over a month ago, but the public was not made aware of this until today, because it was no until yesterday that the intelligence was used. After a month of careful planning, Operation Gold Eagle was a go. Over 200 bombers took off to bomb these sites. The operation was a resounding success, destroying all but one of the bases. This bombing has now given the Union the advantage on the air. With this newly gained air superiority, the Union might finally be able to break the stalemate that has been going on for over 6 months.

Negotiations in Hugamest Fail.....AGAIN
December, 4789

Earlier this month, Borica and Vespacius met once again in the capital of our neighbour Endralon, Hugamest, to discuss peace negotiations. The first time these two met was earlier this year. Those negotiations went very badly, as you might recall. After a state dinner, both sides met in a room secluded from the rest of Terra. Here the negotiations were extremely short. Sources tell us that Botica exited the room after only 2 or 3 minutes.

December's negotiations did a little better. Consul Vespacius, trying to get Botica to stay longer, offered him a seat in the Kundrati senate. This way he could still have some influence on what the nation did. Vespacius spent around 15 minutes trying to convince Botica, but to no use. Botica left threatening Vespacius and announcing that the meeting had been insulting.

Even with Botica's outburst, experts believe that the negotiations could be getting more likely to achieve a peaceful resolution to the conflict.

ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION ON THE CONSUL
December, 4789

Today at 11:43 am, the Consul's life almost came to a violent end. His motorcade was travelling through the streets of Kasaema, on his way to visit the Endralonian embassy, when a bomb went off from under the car. The bomb had been planted on the street, and when the car passed over it, it was remotely detonated. Although the Consul was relatively unharmed, 3 members of his security detail are killed. The car exploded about 5 minutes after the bomb detonated. This delay saved the Consul's life.

Although we have not received any confirmation, it seems that the explosion can be traced back to Goran Botica. The explosion, however, is similar to the car bomb that exploded back in 4785. Botica has not responded to the accusations. This asks the question, is it possible that he wants to end the war by assassinating our leader?

Operation Redeption
May, 4790

After almost 4 years since the failure of Operation Sea Lion, Szalai Vilmos was finally given a second chance. What he ironically called Operation Redemption consisted of a similar invasion like the one in Sea Lion. This time, however, it worked out. Because the Integralist forces are focused on the trenches, the landings were extremely successful. We are now seeing the collapse of the IRK. They had to send back half of their troops to the sea so they could fight the invasion, but that left them exposed to the Union's trenches. They eventually had to leave them and retreat. As of today, the Union's army is only 150 kilometres away from Riverford. The KNN is happy to announce that, THE WAR WILL END SOON!

PEACE!
9th of August, 4790

PEACE AT LAST! Today the IRK capitulated to the Union. After having their city under siege for 3 months, the IRK could no longer fight. Botica and Narribay met and decided to sign a cease-fire. Although the war is technically still going, the fighting is not anymore. We are only waiting for the peace treaty to be signed and officially ratified. This is a very joyous occasion for the peoples of Kundrati. We musty remember the over 10 million people who died in this brutal civil war. Now it is time to rebuild. Our neighbours in Endralon are happy to provide aid, and we hear that there are currently negotiations with Liore to help us. With some luck, Kundrati could go back to its former glory in under 10 years.

Every soldier who fought in the war will receive the Victoriam Numisma for their service.

Vespacius announces the Recovery Project
November, 4791

The Senate recently approved the new tax bill and the new budget. Many citizens were uneasy when they saw how much their taxes had been raised. Now that we can look into the budget, it all makes sense. Our budget had previously focused on the military because the civil war required heavy military spending. Now that the war is over, the government is focusing on rebuilding. This meant that the majority of the budget is now oriented to infrastructure.

In a press conference, the Consul announced the "Recovery Project". This project, he said, was a program to help rebuild our economy after a war that took up half a decade. The project would have 2 parts. The first one would focus on rebuilding everything that the war destroyed. This means cities, railways, factories, etc. The second one would focus on bringing immediate relief to the people affected. Many new roads, railways and factories will be built. This has 2 purposes. The more immediate one is providing jobs to many veterans who don't have a job anymore because the war ended. The other is to improve our infrastructure. With new factories and railways, our economy will improve. Trade will be easier and we will be able to produce many more things to export. These first and second steps will go into effect simultaneously. The Consul said that he is very confident in these steps and that he hopes that they can save our economy.
