Turmoil In Peghonai

Today in Penghonai, a small group of protestors got together outside of the Kundrati Electoral Agency (KEA), responsible for counting the votes for every election in Kundrati. They demand the votes to be recast because they claimed that the election had not been fair. Leading the protests were former governor of Penghonai, Eladi Narribay, and religious leader Goran Botica. The protest was allowed to continue under close surveillance. Consul Quintinus Vespacius addressed the nation and stated the following: "The recent January elections were free and fair. The KEA counted every single one of the 39 million votes twice. I regret that Mr Botica and Mr Narribay can't see it this way". He then invited both Botica and Narribay to the Legislative Palace to further discuss. However, Botica and Narribay did not go. Tensions are high in Penghonai, and only time will tell what the outcome will be.

Missing Equipment
20th of May, 4784

Earlier today the Palace of Governature woke up to find itself in the midst of a crisis. Over 30 thousand pieces of military equipment and over 20 thousand KUN worth of medical equipment from the 3M were nowhere to be found. The raid had occurred at night and the security officers guarding the equipment were found dead at their posts. The military base that was attacked was in the outskirts of Riverford, and the 3M centre was inside the city itself. The operation seemed to be of a very large scale. Neighbours reported to hear gunshots at around 2 in the morning, but nothing is confirmed yet. The 3M sent investigators to the scene to help with the official investigation. The investigation is still ongoing while the government tries to rebuild the events of last night. It is suspected that Botica and Narribay could have been involved with this attack. A special task force conformed by the Ministry of National Security has been created in order to investigate.

Terror in Kasaema
13th of June, 4784

Violence in Kundrati, again. At 9:36 AM this morning a car bomb exploded in the city centre. The bomb exploded just outside of the LTG Kundrati HQ. There were an estimated 22 deaths and over100 people injured. When the forensics department of the Ministry of National Security (MNS), they discovered that the bomb was made with components that had been stolen from the military base in Riverford that had been attacked last month. The car that exploded belonged to one to the members of the LTG board in Kundrati. It exploded when one of his bodyguards started the car, prior to the board member getting in. We are told that the bodyguard died instantly and that the board member is currently in Kasaema's City Hospital, but it seems that they will recover. The LTG backed the 3M Corporate Security Investigation in order to help catch the culprits. We have not heard from the MNS or the government and we can only hope they will catch whoever is responsible for this brutal attack.

New Governor of Riverford
17th of December, 4784

In a shocking turn of events, Eladi Narribay became today the new governor of Riverford. The now-former governor made the following statement to the press: "I have served our nation and Riverford for 17 long years, first as Senator and now as governor. I have always looked for the best interests of every citizen I represented and governed. Today I can see that in order to protect these best interests, I must resign from my position of governor and allow Narribay to take over. I know that he will be a great governor, and he will always look after his own people. Thank you for these amazing 17 years, and goodbye". Following the statement, Narribay announced that many changes were coming to Riverford. We do not know what these changes will be, but we await to see what the future will bring.

We would like to remind our readers that Narribay is one of the prime suspects of the Riverford Military Base and 3M Storage and Distribution Centre, as well as for the LTG Bombing. The Consul has already announced that he does not support this decision and urged Narribay to resign from office. Narribay did not respond. The KNN team fears that Narribay being governor will isolate the city from the rest of the country. Narribay refused to come for an interview, and the KNN offices in Riverford were given an eviction notice. What else Narribay will do, we can only speculate.

The Rise of the Integralist Republic of Kundrati
5th of June, 4785

Today is a dark day for our nation. Earlier this morning, Eladi Narribay, governor of Riverford, announced that the provinces of Penghonai and Lirnak are no longer part of the Kundrati Union. He announced that a new nation was born today. The Integralist Republic of Kundrati (IRK). He announced that seeing how the country was being handled, he could no longer be a part of it. He then invited Goran Botica to the stage and said that they will be the leaders of this new nation. After this speech, an overwhelming amount of soldiers pledged their allegiance to the IRK. They then started to invade Pligon and Celania in order to coerce the government into recognizing them their independence. It has only been 7 hours since the announcement, but the IRK's military forces are already over 25km deep into Kundrati's territory.

Here in the KNN, we made an estimate of how many troops does the IRK have. Although not confirmed, we believe that around 40% of the army joined to support the new nation. They also control about 47% of the navy and 46% of the airforce.

Thus far, we have heard nothing from the Palace of Governature, as the Consul and his advisors struggle to comprehend what is currently happening.

Even though it has not been officially confirmed, one thing is clear, Kundrati is at war.

The Fall of Galemia
13th of July, 4785

After a little over a month of fighting, one of the main cities of Celania, Galemia, has fallen to the IRK. Shortly after the beginning of the war, the IRK focussed its efforts into pushing into the east and south. Due to the attack being so unexpected, the troops from the Union were unprepared to deal with the attack and they were constantly pushed back, whilst suffering heavy casualties. The IRK reached Galemia last week, but because of the unprepared army, they took it with ease. The Union's forces fought ferociously and to the death, but it was not enough.

The Integralists have also pushed deep into Celania. Although the army is trying to Bush them back, many analysts here in KNN believe it might not be enough to save the province. They predict that the Integralists might be able to push all the way into Kasaema before the army is able to stop them. Only time will tell.

The Failure of the Northern Offensive and the Bombing of Kasaema
26th of November, 4785

Today we come to you with even more bad news. Back at the beginning of October, the Union's army launched an offensive in the north of the country. This offensive was planned with information that the IRK's flank was weak and that they were devoting most of their forces to the south and west, and into taking Celania. This information, however, turned out to be false. When the Union began he push, they encountered great resistance and very strong defensive positions. What followed was a massive retreat. The Integralist forces pushed the Union back to where they began, and then some. The Union was finally able to stop them, but after losing over 250 kilometres of land. Not only that, but the offensive cost the Union a heavy price. Over 300k people, both civilian and military.

More bad news comes in the form of the Secretariat of Education being destroyed in the most recent bombings. These bombings, which began back in September, have already cost a big price, both in infrastructure and in lives. The Integralists bomb anything they see, whether military or not. Two weeks ago the National Institue of Oncology was destroyed. With the HQ for cancer research and the HQ for Education in the country destroyed, Quintinus Vespacius made an official statement. "We cannot bear the cost of life that these bombings are having. As such, we are considering moving the capital to Jildrath City. We do this in order to protect the lives of everyone who lives here, as well as to transfer all important government buildings there so that they are less likely to be damaged. We still do not know whether this change will come into effect or not. This will be decided when we have more information". The KNN team believes that this would be a smart move to make because it would divert the Integralist's attention from Kasaema.

The KNN would also like to take this moment to remember all of the employees that were assassinated in the KNN station in Riverford, for they were brutally persecuted and executed. We will remember you.
