National Progress Party organise protest in Carter City agains't conservative governement policies

Yesterday, tens of thousands of people have walk in the street of Carter City to protest agains't multiple policies of the governement. Notably their recent criminalization of abortion and gender reasignement surgery. If the protest was primarily organize by the NPP, many non-partisan group where present at the event like LGBT protection organisations and feminist groups. Lincey Daniel, Chairman of the National Progress Party, spoke in front of the crownd, here is a extract of her speech:
''This governement has only two priorities, take away our rights and cut tax for the rich! Under this regime, so many woman have already been force to have children they never desired! Many transger who have live happily with their identity for many years are now force to be someone they are not and are treated like devianst when they refuse to concede. We, the progressives, seek knowledge and understanding trought difference while the conservatives can only perceive ennemies to kill in things they do not understand. ''

Kate Smith, the Spokesperson of National Progress Party, was present at the manifestation and when we ask her about the meaning of this protest, she respsond:

''I think this is a great day for hutorian. Thic protest clearly show that hutorian are not blindly accepting the policies of this governement. Many people, many groups are starting to stand up about what is going on. I know that together, we can win and trow out this tyranny.''

NPP have their best result in history
After facing a disastrous defeat four years ago and having the Conservative Party elected as the supermajory, the National Progress Party came back in the 4550 with their greatest election result ever recorded with approximatly 45% of seats in parliament. Kate Smith, the 31 years old Spokesperson of the National Progress Party, was elected President of Hutori. She spoke to the press earlier this evening.

''It is a honor for me to become the fourth president of Hutori since the creaton of this position. The people of Hutori have clearly spoken. They were tired of the back-minded policies that the previous governement imposed on them. The people want progress and prosperity and we intend to give it to them. ''

However, even if this election looks good for the NPP in term of lectoral results, the party still didn't manage to get the majority in the parliament with the closest, the Communist Party of Hutori and the Democratic Progressionist Party. The CPH and the NPP only gaigning 102 seats in parliament, they lost the majority by only one seat. The Chariman fo the party, Lincey Daniel, tried to be reassuring about it.

''Indeed, we would have prefer for our allies to have better results, but we are confident that we will be able to work with what we have in parliament today. We have quite a good relationship with the Liberal Party adn I really think we can make some interesting gain over the next four years for the people of Hutori.

Minister of Foreign Affairs want more countries to sign the ''Treaty on the Mutual Extradition of Criminals''

Yesterday, the minister of Foreign Affairs, David West, announced that he would start a international campaign all across Terra in order to convince more country to sign the ''Treaty on the Mutual Extradition of Criminals''. The minister explain that from the governement point of view, the eniter world would benefit from having more country signing this 130 years old treaty that is currently ratify by only four state.

''The respect of justice all around the world is a priority in our foreign policy strategy. This treaty written in 4426 by a hutorian party was a very good idea, it very well written and we sincerely believe that we would benefit from having more countries signing it. Currently, are already ratifying it but since only four countries are ratifying it, countries which are not our closest allies, it's power are severly limited. If we would be to convince some countries that are closer to us, in term of relationship and land proximity, like Telamon, Davostan or Luthori, that would certainly be a step forward in term of international justice.''
-David West, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

MONARCHY LIVES ON!

Image
Thousands gather outside the Royal Palace in Bekenial to celebrate the failure of the bill to abolish the monarchy

After more than a year of uncertainty, today the monarchy lives on. After members of the Communist Party failed to enter the chamber and vote on the bill to abolish the monarchy, the bill failed. This is a major blow to the governing NPP right before an election. Should the Conservatives gain just 9 seats in April they will be able to block any constitutional amendment or treaty ratification. This would mean that the monarchy will live on for at least the next election cycle.

Conservative Leader Mélina Giroux spoke to the crowd but Queen Sarah V was advised not to appear at the rally for her own safety after threats from anti-monarchy groups.

"Hello everyone, today is a great day in our history. Today, the Monarchy lives on! As someone who has been an avid supporter of the monarchy since I was just a little girl, today is incredibly special. We have fought this government for the last year and a half to save the monarchy, and today we have won the battle! Hutorians told us loud and clear that abolishing the monarchy is not the promise they elected this government on. With an election just months away now, I hope we can send a message loud and clear to the NPP and their cronies that Hutorians want the monarchy and will not allow it to be taken away!"

After failing to ablolish monarchy, President Smith claim ''This is a delay, not a defeat''

Image
(Kate Smith, President of Hutori)

After the proposal to abolish moarchy and to restore the old Federal Republic of Hutori failed by only one vote, the President of Hutori, Kate SMith, tried to be reassuring toward her supporters and the other members of the anti-monarchy coalition. She said:

''The decision fo the Communist Party to abstaint from voting on this constitutional bill was unfortunate and difficult to understand , but it certainly not a call to stop our fight. During the last eleciton, we receive a clear mandate from the hutorian population to abolish monarchy and we certainly will have this mandate again during the next election. This is a delay, not a defeat. We have to be patient. Abolishing monarchy one year from now isn't really different from abolishing it right now. May the monarchists understand this, whatever they do or whaterver they say, the day of this absurd anti-democratic regime are counted''

Soon after, the direction of the National Progress Party announced that the next campaign of the party would be essentially based upon the abolition of monarchy.

Liberal Party Slams New National Party as Traitors

Image
Jessica Myer, Leader of the Liberal Party & MP for Prosperity City

Jessica Myer, Leader of the Liberals has stunned the media today slamming their old government colleagues in what she described as the height of political backstabbing. The New National Party has dumped the Liberals from cabinet, even though the current government still possessed a majority, while replacing it with the extremist National Salvation Front. Mrs Myer hit out at her old colleagues stating

"We are absolutely shocked and appalled at what has occured. Kate Smith and the New National Party agreed with our leadership before the April election, that if we possessed majority, we would continue our current government arrangements. The election allowed us to possess a one seat majority, and leadership spoke again, agreeing to continue the arrangement. Yet at the last second, the NNP went behind our backs and brokered a government with the extremist NSF. Meanwhile at the same time, writing to us that they only agreed to such arrangement to see the passing of the abolition of the monarchy, to then only beg the Liberals to support them in government after the monarchy is abolished. This is disgusting behaviour, and as such we will not support the abolition of the Monarchy while Kate Smith is President. This deceitful behaviour towards her own colleagues in government begs the question on how she has deceived the people of Hutori throughout her career.

When questioned over whether she still supports abolishing the monarchy in the future, Mrs Myer responded
I still support the abolition of the Monarchy, I am a proud Republican as is the party. However as I have stated, I have no confidence in the President, as such, I cannot support the abolition while she is in power

Kate Smith resign from presidency after scandals

The President of Hutori, Kate Smith, once again took the media by surprise after she annouced that she is resigning from presidency. After failing to abolish monarchy, facing a wave of dissidence inside her own party and, more recently, being accused of many inapropriate behavior by the Liberal Party, the President explain that she had no choice but to resign. She made a brief explanation for her decision:

''It had been clear for me that my own personnality has become a obstacle to the achievement of the project and ambition of our nation. By the past, I have made some mistake that are unnacceptable from the president of a great nation like Hutori. I have no choice but to remain humble and to leave politics altogether.''

After her resignation, governement officials announced that the current Prime Minsiter, Lincey Daniel, would take the role of President as a interim before a proper replacement can be found.

Many members of the National Progress Party refuse to comment on this announcement but one MP, the 24 years old Justine Bates, accepted to meet with us for quick interview.

'''At this point we had no choice but to force her to leave the party. She had beocme a embarrassment for our century-old party. Normally, the candidate for President of the National Progess Party is the leader of the party but she was never elected to such position! She was clearly unfit to be president.''

NSF declares "Temporary Government"

This is what the NSF spokesperson said just moments ago to a crowd of NSF supporters

The NSF a the NPP is now in a temporary Government. We will supervise over the constitutional amendments. After that, we will call for Early Elections.

The NSF, a newcomer in Hutorian Politics, was often known for proposing many "outrageous" bills: Religious Reform, Military Conscription, Revoking Diplomatic Immunity.. etc.

However the NSF amazed everyone when it came second in the elections in April. The NSF has taken this oppurtunity to form a coaltion wiht the NPP, wihc had already existed before april under the name of "The Coalition for a New Hutori"

The NSF has been pushing for a constittutional amendment that will re-enforce stonger state governemnts. The NSF even threatedend to vote aginst the Monarchy ablolishment if the NPP did not support the State Government Amendnemtns.

However, things have gotten complicated, and the NSF has asked for the dissolution of all coaltions, and the refrainging of the proposing of new amendents.

The NSF had suggested a COaltion wiht the CPH and LIB parties, but the LIB party refused.

The NSF seems ready to play matchmaker, hoping to see thoguh rather turbulent times in Hutorian history, wiht 3 consitutional amendments being voted on at the same time.

Monarchy abolished

After many unsuccessful attempt, the Constitunial bill to abolish monarchy and to restore the Federal Republic of Hutori proposed by the National Progress Part finally passed. With 163 vote in favor, the bill clearly received more than the 137 vote require to change the constitution. It receive the support of nearly every party represented in parliament for the exception of the Conservative Party of Hutori and the Communist Party of Hutori who abstain from voting and where later dissolve.

In front of a crowd of supporters, the Prime MIniste rof Hutori and interim President, Lincey Daniel made a speech to announce the abolition of monarchy:

''Today, Hutori is free. Free of the tyranny of a non-elected leader. The people have spoken and the parliament answered. Today end the cruel and absurd reing of archaic system and today begin the reing of equality. We are now equal as no one is above the law. In this new Hutori, no individual shall be considered sacred above everyone else. Blood shall never determinate your rank, your title or your power. Hutori is and will ever be a meritocracy where talents and character is value above all else, a land of opportunity where each and everyone can aspire to better life no matter origin or the salary of their parents. From now on, Hutori is more than a democracy, it the best of all democracy. Hutori shall be the light in the darkness of Terra. We shall show the world what is the true meaning of the words democracy, freedom, equality and bravery. These are the principales on wich the Federal Republic of Hutori shall be built''

Futhermore, the former Empress of Hutori, Sarah V, announced that her and her family had no intention of leaving the country and that she plan to continu to serve Hutori in the best of her abilities:

''My family and I have served as Monarchs and Custodians of Hutori for the past two and a half centuries. In that time we have served as a bulwark and beacon of stability against the throws of the world. But in that function we are first and foremost servants of the people. We served at their pleasure to be that beacon and the people have to decided to forge their own path into the world. That is something we shall respect. It has been the greatest honour and privilege to serve the Hutorian people as their Monarch. I hereby cede all Constitutional Authority to the Federal Government of the reformed Federal Republic of Hutori. I look forward to continue to serving the Hutorian people in whatever capacity I can and know that myself and my family will never abandon this nation. We shall continue to serve in the public service, in the Armed Forces of the Republic, in Business, in Charity and in numerous other endeavours. Thank you again Hutorian people.''
