Conservative Unionists Party Leader Warns of a Liberal Party President and Government...

The Conservative Unionist Party leader George Cameron has today made a plea to people in Hutori to not vote for the Liberal Party, but to vote Conservative Unionist in the election for the senate and Federalists for the presidential elections during the C.U.P party conference. The leader Mr Cameron has made the following statement:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I thank all of you for your support today at this conference, and must ask each of you to pay close attention to what I am saying now. Conference, the next election this country faces will be the toughest one for many years. We can see the people of Hutori are fed up of the same, liberal socialism which has been fed into people's minds through government propaganda, along with them saying lies about my party and that we are dangerous, but we know the real danger don't we...The liberal Party and their self centred views and the biggest threat to our national at current. These Socialist liberal views are not just morally wrong, but the policies of the liberal party are dangerous to our society and I pray to god that they don't win the elections. Ladies and gentlemen it's time for change and time for Uninity, vote for the right wing alternative and let your voice be heard! This party is for the hard working people who deserve better and have been neglected for too long. This party and this election is your chance to change the future, vote Conservative Unionist!

Lastly, I am using this opertunity to tell everyone that this party shall not stand in the presidential election. But shall support the Fedralists. A Vote for the federalists from you is needed to stop the liberal party. Please vote for what's right and to prevent what's totally wrong, and totally against the views of the citizens of Hutori"

The people at the conference hugely supported what mr Cameron had to say and it looks like most Tory voters will indeed do as he asked which is to vote federalist in the presidential election. But more importantly it looks like the liberals will have a hard time getting into power.

President Graham Announces His Intent to Run for Reelection

President Alexander Graham announced today in an interview his intention to run for reelection. Initially Graham ran on a platform of improving the economy, increasing Hutorian influence abroad and increasing military preparedness. Arguably Graham has been successful on all fronts. He has helped steer the Hutori economy in a prosperous direction and in fact the value of the Hutori Lira is higher than it has been in decades. Several Hutorian companies have taken to the international stage dominating several markets. The Hutori military has seen several measure meant to increase preparedness such as the Selective Service Act and the construction of supply ships that will help the Navy operate abroad with less of a need to rely upon other nations for resupply. Unemployment is at a record low and President Graham's approval ratings reflect that.

However, that is not to say that Graham's presidency has not had any problems. Recent developments such as the closure of the Hutorian Naval base in Beiteynu and the change in government in one of Hutori's closest allies New Endralon have spread doubt on the President's promise to increase Hutorian influence. Although it should be noted that so far there have been talks between the newly elected New Endralon government and the Foreign Affairs ministry. However, at the moment they seem to have amounted to little. As to the closure of the military base it should come as no surprise that the Beiteynuese requested it's closure as their government is known for it's xenophobia. What is surprising is the response from Bekenial as they vacated the military base with out question. Bekenial's official reasoning is that the base held little to no modern tactical value and that all efforts should be more concentrated on containing the Trigunian Bear.

These aren't the only criticisms of President Graham as many far-right pundits have called him out for being to liberal and of course leftist senators and pundits alike have criticized him for being to conservative. The truth is a bit more murky as President Graham a Federalist and just like his party is centre-right which draws the ire of both sides of the political spectrum. What is certain is that President Graham's economic policies have immeasurably helped Hutorian citizens and his rating seem to reflect that although the election will be the decider of whether or not that is true.

PC Leadership mum on Presidential Endorsements

Image
Progressive Conservative Party President Reginald Berkley the PC's Annual General Meeting.

With the 4044 elections less then three months away the Progressive Conservative Party's Executive Leadership has confirmed they will not be fielding a candidate for President. The Party's President, Reginald Berkley, who runs the day to day Administration of the PC Party Apparatus and Organization, announced in a press conference at the PC's AGM (Annual General Meeting) in Groomsbridge that the Party would be following its tradition following a party vote and not offering any candidates at the Presidential level.

Reginald Berkley wrote:There has not been a Progressive Conservative President since Thomas Morrow's in the 3870s and the Party's delegate have chosen to uphold our time honoured tradition of not running for President and focusing on the Senate. Further we will not be offering an official endorsement to any candidate who is a Republican and is not at least willing to discuss the Monarchy Question.

The reaffirmation of the Progressive Conservative Party's stance concerning Presidential Endorsements has ended the hopes of an endorsement for President Graham and the Federalists which had hoped the combined CUP and PC endorsement would easily allow Graham to resecure his Presidency.

It is likely that the PC Party won't be offering any Endorsements this election cycle as they are the only Party, beyond the Conservative Unionist Party, who have ready endorsement President Graham, that are Monarchist while the rest of the Hutorian Political parties are all openly Republican.

FORMER CHANCELLOR SAM ADAMS CAMPAIGN SWINGS THROUGH LATE NIGHT, TALKS POLICY AND BASHES C.U.P.

Image
Liberal Presidential candidate, Sam Adams, on the LATE Show with Eric Murray talking about why George Cameron would be bad for Hutori.

AXMINISTER, ADELIA - (HBC) Former Chancellor and 4044 Liberal candidate for President of Hutori, Sam Adams took a brief break from his campaign last night to make an appearance on Hutori's longest-running, most popular late night talk show HBC's LATE Show. The former Chancellor spoke on many topics during his 30 minute segment but spent the majority of his time speaking on campaign platform and policies but towards the end of his segment Mr. Adams did throws some jabs in the direction of CUP Candidate George Cameron.

"...he (Cameron) is just bottom-line no good for Hutori. He represents everything the Liberal Party and the Democratic Party fought to keep Hutori free from...for starters he is a monarchist, he is going to make you a bunch of promises that he will never be able to fulfill, and then on his way out the door he will trample everything in his path just like every other extremism right-winger in the history of Hutori...the party running him as their candidate is no good either, their polices will cripple Hutori and then they will disappear and disolve leaving Hutorians to struggle to pick up the pieces as they have time and time again over the past 50 years."

Adams will appear on 3 more HBC programs this week as his campaign takes a pit stop in Axminister. On Tuesday, Adams will appear on the evening talk show the Flynn Oliphant Show, and then he will make a guest appearance on the superhero drama, Battleia. On Friday Adams will host the late night sketch comedy show, Live!

Senator Copland Slams Chancellor Adams on Campaign Trail

Image
Progressive Conservative Leader Senator William Copland at a Press Conference in Dalry

Senator William Copland, Leader of the Progressive Conservative Party slammed former Chancellor Sam Adams over comments he made on the LATE! Show earlier this week.

Senator Copland wrote:The Good Former Chancellor decided to attack George Cameron this week and pointed out as the first negative against his character is that he's a Monarchist. I would remind the Mr. Adams that I am a Monarchist, my father was a Monarchist and my Party was founded by three of the most prominent Royalists in modern Hutorian history, including his predessor as Chancellor James Murphy. The Progressive Conservative Party, while having put it on the back burner, are still quite in support of the Restoration of the House of Steuart-Adelia. Being a Monarchist isn't illegal and isn't taboo and for the Chancellor to insinuate that being one is a negative is insulting to myself and my entire Party. I'd also remind him that despite being a Federal Republic for the past 120 years before that we were a Monarchy and at one point his Great Grandfather would have been seen as an outcast as a Republican.

Senator Copland has been campaigning hard in Lagard, his home province, to defend his seat and the only other Lagard Senator flying the PC flag.

With the election less then a month away the PC's senior Senators have been crisscrossing across the nation hoping to garner up support. The PC's General strategy this election cycle appears to be peeling off support from the Federalists and expanding their Party presence in Kenai and Roccato while defending their ground in Adelia , their heartland, and their seats in the west.

FORMER CHANCELLOR ADAMS RESPONDS TO PROGRESSIVE CONSERVATIVES COMMENTS

Image
Former Chancellor Sam Adams held a press conference to address recent comments made by Senator William Copeland of the Progressive Conservative Party.

AXMINISTER, ADELIA - (HBC) Liberal candidate for President Sam Adams held a press conference this afternoon to address recent comments made by Senator William Copeland. Adams did not retract his statements made on the LATE Show but clarified himself.

"I did not intend to offend the PC by pointing out that Mr. Cameron was a monarchist...you can take the negative stigma that goes with it (being a monarchist) as you want. Senator Copeland was correct by saying for the past 120 years we have been a Federal Republic but what Senator Copeland and the Progressive Conservatives don't realize is; The people do not want to be governed by a monarch. It has been a dead issue since the establishment of the Federal Republic...I didn't mean it that being a monarchist was a negative thing, or illegal or taboo, The Liberal Party and the PC have traditionally worked well together, need I remind you the PC's predecessor the Royalist Party helped elect Thad Allen to President in 3992, and our families (Lexington family and the Royal Family) have worked together to improve many things in the Federal Republic, I was simply making it clear so the audience knew who supported their interest and who supported the interest of the monarchy."

LDP LEADER: WE WILL BE THE BRAIN OF A LIBERAL GOVERNMENT, KEEP THEM HONEST

Image

BEKENIAL- Leader of the Liberal Democrats Stewart Taft was on national TV Tuesday shortly following the election. He addressed controversies that in some places, voters intending to vote for the Liberal Party of Hutori accidentally voted for the Liberal Democrats. Playing it down, Dr. Taft said that it was a "tiny swing, if any". The Liberal Democratic leader also pointed to show that in some provinces the LDP was the only party that directly competed with the Liberals for first. "We are the more consistent liberal party, and people know it."

When asked about his proposed "Governing United Coalition", Senator Taft explained that he wanted to unite anti-monarchist forces to form the "least turbulent government possible", meaning one with as few parties as possible. The Liberal Party and the Liberal Democratic Party together hold 250 seats, 50 short of a coalition majority government. Taft chose the Socialist Democratic Party in order to appeal to a broader base of voters, according to Taft. "Socialists, capitalists, whoever, I want good government. We need the best people possible, red yellow or pink."

PRESIDENT ADAMS ADDRESSES THE REPUBLIC AFTER OVERWHELMING VICTORY

Image
President Adams held a press conference outside the Capitol Building in Bekenial.

BEKENIAL, ADELIA - (HBC) Newly elected President Sam Adams held a press conference on the front lawn of the Capitol Building in Bekenial to address current issues facing the Federal Republic. President Adams took a more cheerful and light-hearted approach speaking to the press as he fielded questions.

"Ladies and Gentlemen it is my pleasure to stand in front of you today as your President. You went to the polls and you stood up for the Federal Republic and made it clear that monarchist and right-wingers are unfavorable in our Federal Republic!... Right now, my administration is working on establishing a new governing coalition that will represent the ambitions and values of the Hutorian people, this coalition will work to fix the damages caused by failed policies proposed by the right-wingers, my administration will work hard on diplomacy with nations such as New Endralon and Trigunia. I have a great deal of trust invested in this administration and I know they will do right by the Hutorian people.... *[Question from reporter regarding LDP claim to be "the brain of a Liberal government" and "keeping them honest"]* It's funny, it is amusing they would insinuate that we would be anything but honest, the matter of the fact remains that honesty is not a problem within the Liberal Party and will not be a problem with any Liberal Party-led coalition, just to be clear..."

President Adams also laid plans out for negotiations with New Endralon and policy changes he wishes to see implemented.
