PM in Tribute to King Peter

Following the announcement from the Winter Palace of the death of King Peter I, Prime Minister Hector James made a statement from outside his official residence in Bekenial.
This morning I recieved a call from the Winter Palace informing me of the death of our King, Peter I. Nobody can claim to have been anywhere near as dedicated to the people of this nation as the King. He has been an anchor in an age of change, and he has witnessed many Government's come and go. I remember my first meeting with the King as Leader of the Opposition. I was young, and felt rather naive compared the man I was talking with. Immediately he put me at ease by cracking a joke. The King was a brilliant communicator, and he has set the benchmark for all future constitutional monarchs. Today truly marks the end of an era. While we grieve for our King, I wish the new King William a long and happy reign.

HUTORI REJECTS MACON UNION

Today the Hutorian House of Parliament voted against ratification of the Macon Union Treaty (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=324784). Hutori has now followed in the footsteps of Luthori by rejecting the treaty. Speculation has grown that the Macon Unions motives for expansion with many seeing it as an organisation bent on territorial expansion. The Hutorian Parliament cited infringements of sovereignty and aggression as reasons for opting out of the Macon Pact. A new political movement - the Hutorian Independence Party - has been born out of the situation with The Bekenial Dispatch reported their emergence just a few days ago.

The Hutorian Foreign Affairs Minister has wasted little time in re-proposing the ratification of the Macon Pact with yet another vote under way in the Hutorian House of Parliament. Seeing as no party has indicated a change in policy we believe the outcome of this vote will be the same as the one before. On a side note, the recent attempts by the government to force the Macon Union into law may force a backlash at the polls from voters angry at continued attempts.

Equality reaches the Monarchy

After the passage of the Liberal Democrat's flagship policy, Hutori's female royals now enjoy an equal right the throne. Equal (or absolute) Primogeniture means that should the eldest child of a Monarch be a female, she will ascend the throne, ending centuries of male dominance. The Liberal Democrats won this vote with the support of the entire House, after conceding their opposition to some parts of the constitution. The Prime Minister made a statement shortly after the Law was signed by the King:

Today marks a historic moment in the history of our monarchy. For the first time the female members of the Royal family have an equal right to the throne, ending years of sexism. Though this will not affect us in the short term as the Heir is a male, in future we may find ourselves with a female Heir and consequently a Queen Regent. I am particularly pleased that we had the full support of Parliament on this reform, and that we managed to negotiate with the HCP to get this passed.

LBGT COMMUNITY CELEBRATES EQUALITY ACT AND GAY RIGHTS BILL

The LBGT community in Hutori have taken to the streets in celebrations to mark two key pieces of legislation. Recently the Lib Dems Equality Act Passed with a Coalition Vote, and currently at the vote is a second bill supporting adoption by gay couples and the end of their exclusion from the Military. In Bekenial a Gay Pride March took place, the first since the legalisation of Homosexuality. It is reported that over 10,000 people, not all of them gay themselves, took to the streets in symbolism of their support. The Leader of the Liberal Democrats, Hector James, joined them on the streets of the Capital, as did several other senior politicians and public figures. It is thought that this could become an annual event in the Capital, with support from local businesses. One bar owner had this to say; "I'm not gay, but I can't argue against this event, it’s great for business and it isn't harming anyone. The atmosphere is one of fun and laughter."
To coincide with the event, an alternative rally was held outside the HCP HQ condemning the law changes. One person at this rally said "This is an abomination, I can't believe the government have allowed this. It is completely immoral."
Police have been monitoring the so far peaceful event, and intend to make sure that the two rallies do not come into contact.

Hector James to stand down at next election

Former Prime Minister and current Internal Affairs Minister Hector James has announced that he will be retiring from politics after the next election in December 3165. Hector James has been a prominant Parliamentarian since he took the Leadership of the Liberal Democrats when Frank Plowman stood down. This announcement will spark a leadership contest with a timeline for the new leader's takeover to coincide with the election campaign.

Mr James will continue to support charities and campaigns, but will not be seeking re-election as MP.

Julius Britannicus New Lib Dem Leader

Following the resignation of veteren Parliamentarian Hector James from front line politics, Julius Britannicus has been elected as the new leader. He comes into the leadership with a huge task, he must negotiate to ensure that the conservatives stay out of power, and fight for a socialist-liberal left Government.

CONSERVATIVES REVEL AT MACON PACT DECISION

The Hutorian Conservative Party today released a press statement on the contentious issue of the War in Likatonia. The HCP statement was not a statement of condemnation or aggression but a statement of vindication. The HCP has stated it now feels vindicated for opposing the Macon Union repeatedly, decades ago. The statement issued by party Leader Vine read as follows,

Having seen Likatonia drag the Macon Union into war we now see that the greatest decision our nation could have made - was not to become members of the Macon Union. The Union has resulted in what we believed it was created for - colonial expansion. I believe the Macon Union - now fully mobilized - will not end at defending Likatonia, but drive to expand throughout Terra. Hutori is grateful it has no part to play in this frivolous war.

The HCP led the anti-Treaty parties back when the Macon Union was proposed before the Hutorian House of Parliament. Many Hutorian parties - who are still believed to favor the Treaty - may now realize how the Treaty is simply an expansionist plan fueled by a burning desire for war.

INVESTIGATION CONDUCTED IN TELAMON

The Bekenial Dispatch has conducted reports into the leading parties of the Telamoni state. The results? Shocking evidence that shows the Optimates and National Imperial Party of Telamon are worshipers of the Cult of Shuzzag Khan. The Cult - known for its barbaric and inhuman nature - was thought to have been disbanded when its official political movement in Telamon shut down - however it appears the cult remains alive and well.

The Cult is known for its immoral and un-holy practices - such as the legalisation of bestiality (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=313727) and the sacrificing of humans to an ungodly creature - the "great worm" (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=314133). Such practices it is clear - have no place in a civilized society, something Telamon is clearly not. As you can see, the Optimates party has voted alongside the Cult's official political movement on all issues. We also have documentation of the Optimates party in government with the Shuzzag-Khan Party (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=315060). We also note, that the National Imperial Party of Telamon has also been allied to the Order of Shuzzag Khan and the current Telamonese government is represented largely from parties who worship the Cult.

We also have looked into the shady character Titus Cornelius Architectus who according to the Telamon Broadcasting Corporation (viewtopic.php?f=17&t=89&start=70#p31938) was also known as Neil Sean Ettington who has lead the Optimates party since their formation. It is clear this man is a ungodly worshiper of un-natural rituals and beings. Seeing as Titus Cornelius Architectus is a known worshiper of the cult, we have unveiled several cult quotes to better highlight the policies he represents,

This is the official Cult of the Destroyer of Gods; Great Worm of the Pits; Torturer of Man and Ruler of Earth; Commander of the Host of the Five Times Damned; Leech-King on the Fabric of Creation; Thirst for Blood and Craving for Death; High Prince of Massacre; He Whose Name Is Desire and Whose Word Is Command; Lord of Doom and of Glory: Shuzzag-Khân.

The Cult is seen over by the immortal Archpope Glûzz I. and shall seek to fulfil each and every country of Terra with the glories and horrors of Shuzzag-Khân.

The Cult is distinguished by its fondness of human sacrifice, its hatred for heathens and heretics and its indomitable efforts to turn all of Terra into one big sacrifical pit.

Titus Cornelius Architectus or Neil Sean Ettington - as he was known has also been quoted as saying,

Telamon special operations units were dispatched to fulfill the promise made by head of State Neil Ettington that for every Telamonese killed ten Hutori would die. The preferable method of execution is to be devoured by the Great Worm for sacrifice, though other methods are in affect.

Quite clearly the man is deluded, ungodly and a heathen in the eyes of the true religions. All nations would do well to avoid the Optimates party and their bloodthirsty agenda to bring the Cult to all nations, as we have already shown in the quotes provided. It is also clear that the National Imperial Party is involved in the cult and their holier-than-thou reputation is obviously a misconception. The Bekenial Dispatch has conducted this investigation in the wake of Telamon leading the Macon Union into war - and now we know why they became involved. To spread their heathen message across Terra. So all nations beware of the blasphemous Telamoni state and its immoral and ungodly agenda.

HISTORICAL ROYAL WEDDING IN THE MAKING?

Whispers of an impending announcement on a Royal Wedding have spread like wildfire across the nation of Hutori. The Heir to the throne - Princess Sarah, is currently unwed and Luthorian Prince, Prince Lionel - recently declared as the legitimate heir to the throne of Telamon is seeking a bride. There have been rumors of such a proposal, which would suit all parties - in Hutori, Luthori and the individuals. Hutori would also stand to gain a great deal in regards of international approval. This would be the final piece in the grand scheme of the late King William I, who's diplomatic skill brought Hutori back in from the international wilderness to become a nation once again regarded as honorable within the Monarchist community. A wedding to such a high ranking Royal of the Luthorian state and the House of Orange-Villayn would complete Hutorian re-integration back into the Monarchist World.

However, the Bekenial Dispatch must state this is only a rumor at this time and a statement must be issued by the Hutorian Winter Palace - the Kings Official Residency - before there is confirmation of such a Wedding. One thing is for sure, that the people would welcome such a proposal and relish the chance to be part of the global community once more.

HEIR WEDS IN LAVISH CEREMONY

Today, at a grand ceremony in the Winter Palace the Heir to the Hutorian throne - HRH Princess Sarah, Princess of Saint John, 1st daughter of King William I wed Prince Lionel of Orange. Prince Lionel, a nobleman of the House of Orange-Villayn and Princess Sarah of the House of Hutori will both succeed King William I and lead to the formation of the House of Orange-Hutori. This ceremony sees the total re-integration of Hutori into the Monarchist community with the view to taking its place in the Commonwealth Alliance, alongside historical states such as Luthori, Hulstria and Indrala. This wedding has great importance to both Royal Houses, with Prince Lionel recently declared the rightful heir to the Telamonese throne and the House of Hutori regaining legitimate status within the IML (International Monarchist League). This wedding consolidates both positions as just and correct.

Apart from the highly significant political motives, the couple looked overjoyed as they exchanged vows. The people of Hutori were also out in force to celebrate such a joyous occasion and to hopefully catch a glimpse of history in the making.

Above : Hutorians flood the streets to try and see the ceremony.

This ceremony will remain with the people of Hutori for years to come and as for its political significance? Well, that could last for decades.........maybe centuries......
