Conservatives Propose Unity Cabinet


Conservative MP Eric O'Reilly could be Hutori's next Minister of National Defense after his party proposed a coalition government including all parties in Parliament.

Conservative Party leader Denise Lewis tabled the first cabinet proposal since the recent election. Surprising many, her proposal included every party with seats in Parliament. Lewis spoke in the house shortly after and had this to say.

"As we speak our nation very well could be dragged into the Telamon-Davostan conflict at a moments notice. With that in mind, we in the Conservative Party are asking all of our fellow parties here in parliament to join us in putting aside partisanship and forming a national unity cabinet to ensure all voices are heard through the coming years."

After news broke this month of a naval incident between Hutorian and Davostani ships, it appears Hutori could be headed to war very soon, and Lewis says all parties need to have their voices heard. Conservative MP and potentially the next Minister of National Defense, Eric O'Reilly, held a press conference after the motion was presented.

"Our nation is almost certainly on the brink of entering a major conflict. We must work together to ensure the safety and prosperity of Hutori. As parliamentarians, we owe it to our constituents to come together and form a national unity cabinet. I hope all parties will support our proposal."

At the time of writing, the Liberal, National Progress Party and Worker's Parties have voted in favour of the cabinet along with the Conservatives.

BREAKING NEWS:Hutorian Royal Navy Sinks Kivonian Naval Patrols Breaching Hutorian Territorial Waters

An emergency press conference called by Hutori's top general, General Paul Warwick at the Ministry of National Defence's HQ in Bekenial highlighted that the worst had finally come to pass; Hutori had been caught in the crossfire between the war between Davostan and Telamon.

General Warwick had this to say:

At 4:30am today, I can confirm that a Kivonian Naval Convoy and battlegroup entered into Hutorian territorial waters, attempting to reinforce their invasion army in Telamon. They were attemping to circumvent our naval patrols in the Macon Sea, and instead went under the cover of night, straight through out territorial waters. The battlegroup was intercepted by Task Force-13 of the First Fleet, lead by the Destroyer HMHS-Lionheart, and comprising the Bekenial class Frigates, the HMHS-Bekenial, HMHS-Acton, the HMHS-Glentingham and the HMHS-Axminister. The Kivonian Battlegroup and Naval convoy was ordered out of territorial waters.

They refused to comply and opened fire on our Task Force.

The HMHS-Axminister came under heavy fire and was was sunk, lost with all hands, while heavy damage was inflicted on the HMHS-Acton. The HMHS-Bekenial, HMHS-Glentingham and HMHS-Lionheart returned fire and sunk several Kivonian Naval Vessels. While outnumbers, Task Force-13 was able to hold out long enough before reinforcements from Carrier Task Force 1, the HMHS-Arianna Woodbury's Carrier Battle Group, arrived on station and repelled the Kivonians.

I can confirm since this skirmish, Kivonian air patrols have begun attacking entering into Hutorian airspace along our western air border and challenging our air assets, while on the open seas, Kivonian vessels have continued to attempt to breach our naval perimeter. I have delivered this report to the Prime Minister and now the situation is before Parliament.

Parliament Approves Declaration of War


Defense Minister Eric O'Reilly speaks during the short period of debate on the declaration of war on Davostan.

The Commonwealth of Hutori has officially declared war on the Third Kivonian Republic. The bill passed parliament with unanimous consent and added 20 billion Lira to the defense budget. Hutori's new Minister of National Defense, Eric O'Reilly held a press conference to announce the declaration.

"This morning Her Imperial Majesty Queen Sarah VI officially issued the declaration of war against the Third Kivonian Republic. Over the last 2 years, Hutori has warned both Telamon and Kivonia that they must stay out of Hutori's sovereign territory, or face war. After Kivonia trespassed on our waters, our navy opened fire and took down the Kivonian fleet. We will now be fully mobilizing our Armed Forces, and I trust our troops will bring us a timely, decisive victory."

Prime Minsiter adress declaration of war against Third Kivonian Republic

On marcfh of this year, the parliament voted to declare war on the Kivonian Republic after an intrusion in hutorian sea. One month later, a new governement was formed. The new cabinet, formed by a coalition of every party in Hutori, renewed the mandate of the incumbent Prime Minister Kashayla Norman. The newly reappointed Prime Minister appear on national television to adress the situation and to reassure the hutorian people.

''When war broke out between Kivonia and Telamon, we chose to side with peace. We wanted to stay neutral so we could use diplomacy to put an end to this horrible war. However, we didn't expect the the governement of Kivonia to commit irreparable act of violating our own sovreignty. They sended troops inside our own territory, violating international law, and they then attack our own millitary assets, killing many of our troops in the in the same time. This is an act of war and we have no choice but to strike back.

We, the hutorian nation, never wanted this war. Our own honor will stay untainted by this declaration fo war as we do nothing but to defend ourselves. These are dark days for Hutori, but we will overcome them by staying united. This unity start in governement, We have recently form, with the noted help of the Conservative Party, a Cabinet of Unity. Parties and politicians who ahve hated each other now work together to ensure the defence of our nation.

Stay assure, good people of Hutori, that this situation if only temporary. I know it is hard, many of you will lose close one in this war, but we will overcome this truggle. We will prevail, we will win this war. We will put an end to this unlawfull regime that wrongfully rule over Kivonia.

Finally, I would like to adress the people of Kivonia directly. I want them to know that we do not blame them either for this war. For you are only victim of tyrrany. This predend governement that rule over you is not legitimate in any way.. We will do everything that is under our power to liberate Kivonia. We will bring back the democracy that this pround nation deserve. Hutori is a nation of righteousness and you can see us as your friend kavonians.''
