Former PM and SNP-Labour Leader Andrew Macalester addressing reporters outside Parliament
BEKENIAL - Andrew Macalester is not pleased. The former PM made it clear that he believes the new Taylor administration has stolen government from the nation's largest party. Speaking to HBC reporters, Macalester had this to say:
This is ludicrous. Prime Minister Taylor and his racist, isolationalist policies are bad for Hutori and bad for the People of Sutton. We cannot allow this to stand. Furthermore, the idea that the nation's largest parliamentary delegation would be shut out from government is absurd, and frankly anti-democratic.
Macalester will now take a position he has never held - leader of the opposition. The ginger Economics PhD from Sutton has served in five successive governments as education minister, foreign minister, and prime minister. Despite a challenge from this left flank in the form of John Lavell, a Labour polititican from Adelia, Macalester managed to hold on to his party leadership as the parliamentary delegation voted 36 to 10 to keep Macalester in the position. Macalester seemed frustrated with having to serve in the opposition, but determined to serve his constituents well.
Get angry. Get ready. The next four years are going to be hard on the working people of Hutori. I expect the new government to undo everything for which we have worked so hard. Do not fear, my friends. As leader of the opposition, I will hold this government to account. We will be back in government soon. You have my word.
