The Royal Hutorian Navy has announced that it finalized the design of the Frigate that will eventually replace the old Bekenial class Frigates currently in service. Underneath the 50th Century Naval Modernization Program, 20 of the Royal Navy's Bekenial class Frigates will be upgraded with the newest naval technology, while an additional 20 will be finally mothballed and retired. The Royal Navy will replace each Bekenial class being retired, with a 5000 class Frigate, with the name to be decided at a later date, internally by Hutorian High Command, though there are rumors they'll be naming them after notable Hutorian Captains throughout history, rather then the cities of Hutori, though some legacy ships will be maintained; with the HMHS-Bekenial, being a confirmed name for a future 5000 class.
The 5000 class will be a true multi-role Frigate, able to perform a number of different actions and interdictions, unlike the specialized Liberty class Destroyers. Defence analysts have already stated based on initial designs the 5000 class Frigate, will be able to punch far above it's own weight, be able to work widely independently of the mighty Hutorian Carrier Battle Group, but will also serve as a critical aspect of escorting Hutorian flagships. Combined with the finalized 5100 class Cruiser, that are under joint development within Kalistan and Hutori, and which are rumored to already be completed and just awaiting construction.
Lost in the news however, was the quiet news that only two Graham class Supercarriers are going on the chopping block as was originally announced. Instead the Department of National Defence quietly reassigned all four additional Hutorian Supercarriers to be placed within the 50th Century Naval Modernization Program. This will allow the Royal Hutorian Navy keep six Aircraft Carriers in service, which will be joined by two additional Supercarriers that were already placed in order. When asked, Deputy Minister of Defence for Defence Acquisition, Daniel MacNamara, refused comment, merely noting that "The Royal Hutorian Navy understands it's needs and logistical capability the best."
Lexington Entertainment's Newest Flagship Game, Infinite Epic, Sells Out within Minutes, Comes Amongst Rave Reviews
Backdated: July 4889
Title Art of Infinite Epic
Lexington Entertainment's Acton Studio newly released game, Infinite Epic, sold out internationally within minutes of it's release, amongst huge hype for the game in the lead up to it's international release.
Infinite Epic has been the brainchild of Lexington Acton, and they have been working diligently on the project for much of the past seven years. Originally designed for the original Gamestation, the team in Acton took the original game, and rebuild it from the ground up to work with the next gen hardware available in the Gamestation 2. A technical demo was released two years ago at the Acton Game Exhibition, which recieved immediate praise and huge speculation on the game. Small demos of the game, including story, characters, villains and the much anticipated combat system.
The game revolves around Mercenary Tom Shade, working with the resistance group Riptide that is attempting to sabotage the efforts of the massive energy hypercorporation, Eris, that controls the central city of Whiteblade, that the game takes place in. A chunk of the game looks at the disparity between the immensely wealthy upper class which tactily support the efforts of the hypercorporation from giving them their prosperity, and the impoverished lower class that is widely oppressed and abused by the hypercorporation and it's private military force. Numerous political links between the dangerous of rampant industrialization and run away hypercapitalism has drawn parallels with real world governments and corporations with some stating that the Endralon based Boros Oil Company was used as the inspiration of the Eris Corporation, while the resistance group, Riptide, has drawn parallels with real world AEFNS, though Lexington Entertainment has denied it entirely, noting the game was purely for entertainment and enjoyment. The game eventually touches on the supernatural and the history between the Mercenary and a Silverhaired Demon, that serves as the games penultimate antigonist, replacing the Eris Corporation about half way through it's 40 hour story of gameplay.
Infinite Epic was released exclusively on Lexington's Gamestation 2.
