Royal Family Safely Abroad, Will Not Intervene

A spokesperson for His Imperial and Most Excellent Royal Majesty, Emperor William VII, has confirmed that he residing safely at the royal palace in Vanuku, and will be remaining there for the indefinite future, on top of "Will not be interfering in Hutorian affairs."

The Hutorian People made it clear they do not need nor want me as their Monarch, so I will not be interfering in their affairs. That the Leader of the Free Deomcrats honestly believe I or my family would do a thing about this "Sutton Independence" Movement is appalling and blatantly false when my youngest brother continues to serve that nation in it's Armed Forces.

His Imperial Majesty and his wife, Empress Consort Rosalind, have been residing in Wiel since the Republican Coalition unceremoniously removed the Hutorian Monarchy from their thrones, ending the Hutorian Commonwealth after 160 years of stable rule seemingly without warning. Emperor William VII has stated he would not return to Hutori as long as they did not want him.

Crown Prince Henry meanwhile is said to be residing in Fort William, serving as Regent of Luthori in his father's absence, while the Emperor's two daughters, are living with their respective fiances in Kazullia and Lourenne respectively.

The only remaining members of the Royal Family still in Hutori remain the Emperor's younger brothers, Wayne and General Christopher Steuart-Carmichael.

Wayne is the CEO and President of Gold Lion Capital, Hutori's largest private equity firm and hedgefund, with assets in the hundreds of billions of HLR, who currently resides in downtown Acton at Apollo Tower, and was entirely unavailable for comment. General Christopher Steuart-Carmichael, is Hutori's top military commander, and was recently confirmed by the National Assembly to an additional 4 year term, though it's been noted by numerous legal scholars that the new Republican Constitution doesn't explicitly state who now has command over the Hutorian Armed Forces; the Emperor was the last legal Commander in Chief, and the dissolution of the Monarchy didn't specify who took his constitutional powers, whether that the President, Speaker of the Assembly or the National Assembly as a whole, giving, for at least the interim, General Steuart-Carmichael de-facto control over the Hutorian military.

Hosian Fascist Union begin to influence and collaborate with Hutori Military officers and enlisted.

The Holy Luthori Empire's far right party, Hosian Fascist Union, has had a network of around seventy five men immigrate to Hutori in order to build support in the now independent Hutori military under General Charmicheal. Classified documents have now come into light noting that the military estimates that there around 150 officers and 500 enlisted , including 7 senior officers at the field and command level, who are pushing for a Hutorian form of fascism.

The report notes that these 150 officers have formed cells to aid the fascist campaign and distribute propaganda. The HFU supports the idea of Carmichael's seizure of the country in order to instill an authoritarian regime to eventually restore the monarchy.

Sir Jacob Wilbur, the party's chairman, has arrived in Hutori to meet with the General.

Digging of the Sutton Strait Tunnel

The Project Director for the Sutton Strait Tunnel Project has announced that the Tunnel will be completely finished and ready to be opened within the fiscal year, with only minor cost overruns.

The money that was proposed, and thankfully augmented by the past Royalist Government in Kincardine was enough to finish the project. While it cost slightly more then we originally anticipated, it has still worked out in our favour. I fully expect the tunnel to be open to full usage by November of this year.

The Sutton Strait Tunnel was one of five "Mega Projects" approved under the late First Minister Neil MacDougall's ambitious Hutori Works Program, which dumped tens of billions of HLR in every province for local mega projects to invigorate the local economy, drive down unemployment, and unify the country under their mega projects, a legacy that the late First Minister is widely accredited to have achieved.

The Interprovince Freeway in Adelia is almost complete as well, while Lagard Fibre, the new Crown Corporation created for the Lagard Provincial Government, has confirmed that 80% Lagard's citizens now have access to high speed fibre op internet, with the final 20% to have full access to the internet by the end of 4465, an ambitious goal. Federal Minister of Trade & Industry Miranda Woodbury has stated that "If the Lagard project works, it will be viable for a Fibre Company in every Province to finally full connect all portions of Hutori. From the coastline of Axminister to the tip of Sutton Isle. We will be fully connected as a nation."

Timmons Space Centre Launches First Space Station Module

Image

Hutori's drive to make a permanent presence in the stars took a giant leap this month as SERA has confirmed the first Module of the Hutorian Space Station Horizon (HSS-Horizon) has been safely launch and is in place in geosynchronous orbit. Director of SERA Dr. Patricia Agnew, has stated that only two more modules need to be launched before it will be safe for a permanent presence of Hutorian Astronauts to be living at Horizon Space Station.

The Horizon Imitative was a top secret project launched shortly after Hutori and Kazullia finished their joint moon landing, under the codename Lunar Arrow. With Lunar Arrow having been considered a complete success, SERA was quietly approved to dedicated their entire 54 Billion HLR Budget towards the Horizon Imitative to put a permanent presence in space, and push future and deeper space missions from there, with Hutori fully planning on returning to the moon solo by the end of the decade.

Dr. Patricia Agnew; Director of SERA
Lunar Arrow proved we could make it to the stars, Horizon will prove we can live amongst them, what goes there is held only by our imagination. This is but the end of the beginning of Hutori and hopefully all of Terran kind's venture into space, and I look forward to seeing the rest of this story.

Newest Aircraft Carrier to be Named in Honour of First Minister

Hutori's Sixth Aircraft Carrier

The Naval Construction Project begun under the Hutori Works Program is being named in honour of the First Minister who spearheaded the project; with Hutori's sixth and promised to be final Graham class Supercarrier being named the Neil MacDougall, and rounding out Hutori's carrier fleet as far and away the largest in the world. As apart of the Hutori Work's Program, Kenai was given a Naval super project for the creation of a Sixth Carrier Strike Group, to found out Hutori's eight numbered fleets gobally, giving the Royal Hutorian Navy, the capability to project it's influence almost anywhere. Hutori has long been known as the naval muscle of the Northern Council, and the creation of the Neil MacDougall and it's escorting fleet confirming the last standing theory.

= Hutorian International Development Corporation Promises Additional Funds for BPI =

Image
HIDC CEO Marcus Denario

The top official at Hutori's foreign aid and development operation, Marcus Denario, has announced that the Hutorian International Development Corporation will be investing an additional 2.5 Billion HLR per year into the HIDC's commitment's to the Bortnem-Pomerleau Initiative. Co-founded by Kazullia and Hutori, the Hutorian half was named after Chris Pomerleau, a former head of the Gold Lion Capital that founded it with Karl Bortnem. For the past twenty five years, Hutori has invested 2.5 Billion HLR annually, coming in at an impressive 62.5 Billion HLR invested thus far. Hutori's total committment for the full century was a quarter Billion HLR, however Denario has stated that "Hutori can do more."

Hutori has one of the most dynamic economies in the Northern hemisphere and has been seen second to Kazullia for a great many years. However with Hutori taking further leadership roles in the Northern Council, in Dovani espceially in needs to New Alduria and Temania and diplomatically as seen with the recent burying of the hatchet between Bekenial and Wiel. It's time for Hutori to step up, do it's share, and show Terra it's ready to shoulder it's fair share of the burden.

Doubling Hutori's current commitments will increase the amount it's investing into Dovani 375 Billion HLR, on top of the 62.5 Billion already invested; marking Hutori's promised 437.5 Billion HLR commitments second only to what Kazullia is currently promising at half a trillion with Denario stating that that increase could go even further, based on current feelings from the government in Skalm.

I have seen the news that they are rethinking the needs of BPI which I understand, this is a massive investment of capital that our nations may never see a return on in the physical sense... but the long term benefits can not even begun to be understated. If Kazullia is unable to increase it's share of the incredible work already done, we will gladly help Skalm shoulder the immense burden so it knows that Bekenial is ready to help when it is needed. I've already been told by both private foundations and the private sector they will invest money into this massive fund; it only takes an ask and I am prepared to make that ask.

Prime Minister Shaw Still Clinging On In Fight To Save Monarchy

Image
Prime Minister Shaw answers questions from reporters with the future of the monarchy looking bleak.

Prime Minister Tristan Shaw remains firmly focused on preserving the Hutorian Monarchy. With the future not looking bright for the Hutorian Throne, Shaw says he will continue to fight because he says Hutorians do not want a republic.

"I have spoken to hardworking Hutorians across this beautiful country, and you know what they tell me? They say 'Tristan, you can't let them abolish the monarchy, its the most stable form of government this nation has ever had throughout our history, you can't let them end it'. And I continue to tell them that I will not give up this fight. We may not have many allies left, but we will fight until the bitter end to save the throne. And a quote made by the Right Honourable Dylan Jourdain about the Royalist Party years ago still stands for the Royal Conservative Party today. 'We will serve out this term with our partners, but after this term, any party who supports a republican amendment, need not come knock on my door anymore, they need not call and ask for our partnership in a coalition, they will all be dead to us. We will not work with any party who does not support the form of government which has proven itself over the centuries to be the most politically stable.' We hope our coalition partners can agree with us and not support a republican reform."

Shaw Says Conservatives Will Sit In Opposition Unless SNP Withdraws Support for Republic

Royal Conservative Party leader, and current Prime Minister, Tristan Shaw announced today that his party will only continue their coalition government with the Sutton Nationalist Party if they agree to vote against the abolition of the Hutorian Monarchy. If the SNP does not agree to this, Shaw says his party will accept defeat in the election, and sit in opposition. If this were to happen, it would be the first time since 4446 that Hutori had a government that did not include the Royal Conservatives (formerly known as the Royalist Party).

Image
Shaw looks on, clearly frustrated, while Sutton Nationalist members vote in favour of a republican bill that failed.

Shaw was available for an interview after his announcement and this is what he had to say:

"We have worked alongside the Sutton Nationalist Party in their fight to become officially recognized as a crown dependency of our nation. Now they repay us by voting to abolish the Hutorian Monarchy. This is a complete stab in the back, and unless they have a change of heart, we cannot work alongside them anymore. We will happily sit in opposition and fight whoever forms the next government at every turn to ensure the preservation of the monarchy."

After Successful Snap Election, Shaw Calls it a Career

Image
Shaw waves goodbye to his supporters after announcing his retirement.

After 13 years as Conservative Leader, and 10 years as Prime Minister, Tristan Shaw announced he would be retiring from politics. Shaw, who served on the government benches for his entire career, calls it quits after leading his party into a position where the monarchy is safe, and is likely to hold onto power, should the Free Democrats and Justice Party agree to join their cabinet. Shaw spoke to thousands of supporters after the results of the election for his successor were announced.

"I am confident that as I move on to life after politics, this party is in an incredible place. While we may not hold the most seats, we have worked well with our allies who have fought with us against the republican reforms being pushed by the Ultrackian Socialists, and have put ourselves in a position where the monarchy is safe, and we are poised to hold onto government. We couldn't have done it without the grassroots members of this party who worked day-in day-out to get their candidates elected. I cannot thank you all enough. The future is bright for not only this party, but for all Hutorians!"

Taylor Elected to Tory Top Job

Image
Steve Taylor celebrates his election as the new leader of the Royal Conservative Party

The man who served under Tristan Shaw as Minister of Finance for the last 6 years, Steve Taylor has earned a promotion to the party's top job. Shortly after it was announced that Shaw would be retiring, 3 candidates announced they would be seeking the leadership. Taylor was challenged by longtime Tory frontbencher Tyler Cameron, and rookie MP Jacob Gardiner. Taylor won in the first round of voting with 56% of the vote.

Before politics, Taylor had an extensive business career. Having started his own company at the age of 19, he would sell it 10 years later for more than 10 million Lira. After that, he went on to serve as the Chief Financial Officer of Gold Lion Capital, a position once held by the late Chancellor Brett Martin. Taylor takes over with the party in a great position. It is now able to block a constitutional amendment to reform Hutori into a republic, and Taylor is likely to become the next Prime Minister.

Taylor Ready To Lead With Early Election Looming

Its been 2 years since the last election, and parliament has been unable to appoint a new cabinet. With 18 vacant seats, and the split of the SNP and Labour parties, an early election has been called for and is likely to happen next month. Tory leader Steve Taylor says his party is ready to govern, and will look for similar minded leaders to form a cabinet with after the elections are finished.

Image
Conservative leader Steve Taylor sits down with HBC to talk about the looming early election

Q:
" With parliament unable to form a government, and an early election looming, what do you have to say to the Hutorian people?"

A:
"Hutori has been without a government for the last 2 years. It is about time we had strong leadership. I am ready to work across party lines to ensure Hutori has a strong, competent government for the people."

Q:
"While the Ultrackian Socialists and the SNP/Labour Party formed a majority together after the last election, what does it say about them that they were unable to form a coalition?"

A:
"Frankly what we have seen in parliament has shown me that the Sutton Nationalists have finally come to their senses. The Labour Party and the Ultrackian Socialists have proven time and again they are unfit to govern this country and I believe that the SNP has finally awoke to that. I am very much open to working with the SNP and any other party that believes in common sense governance."

Q:
"One last question Mr. Taylor. You say that the Ultrackian Socialists and the Labour Party are unfit to govern. What makes your party more fit to govern than they are in your opinion?"

A:
"There are many reasons why I believe we are more fit to govern this great country. Firstly, we believe in lower taxes, Hutorians deserve to decide for themselves what to do with their hard earned money. Secondly, Conservatives have governed Hutori for a large part of this century. Hutori has been at its best both in terms of the economy, and the overall quality of life for the people during our governments. We want Hutori to be a leader on Terra, and only Conservatives have been able to provide the leadership required for that. I could get into many more reasons, but I will save those for the campaign trail."
