Nationalists won the elections but there are no threats for the Imperial Order
The Emperor welcomes Faisal Saeed to the Cerimony of Appointment as new Prime Minister expressing his hopes to work cordially and in harmony together for the well being of the Nation

20 December 4575

ROMULA - The Prime Minister Imperial Secretary of State nominated by the National Assembly, Mr Faisal Saeed, whose government gained the trust of the nationalist majority, was received at Quattroregni Palace together with the members of his Government for the formal appointment by the Emperor to the leadership of the Executive.
Despite the initial reluctance to participate in a ceremony with the much-criticized new monarch of Istalia, the election results, which did not give the Nationalist majority the chance to subvert the constitutional reform, finally pushed Faisal Saeed and his followers to agree to take part of the formality of the Ceremony of Official Designation of the Government, just a formality that can only confirm the choice of the National Assembly.

The members of the new executive were received at the Palace by the Grand Chamberlain of the Empire who accompanied them to the Salone degli Arazzi (Hall of the Tapestries), where the Official Appointment Ceremony was held and where the members of the Government, together with representatives of all Institutions, including the President of the National Assembly, the Judges of the Supreme Court, the General Staff of Defense and the other highest officials of the Empire awaited the entrance, announced by the Archchancellor of the Empire, of His Majesty the Emperor accompanied by his wife the Empress who sat at the Chairs of State between the two wings of guests.
The Emperor therefore gave a speech addressed to the Government:

Honorable members of the Government and Your Excellency Mr Prime Minister,
Please accept my welcome first and then my congratulations for your nomination. The People expressed themselves and the majority of the National Assembly expressed by the elections issues this new executive which today, as per Constitution of the Empire, I officially appointe at the leadership of the Government of the Istalian Empire.

I want to express my sincerest hopes that, after the considerable tensions of the past months between the previous government, the Imperial Authority and your party, we will find a way to work peacefully, cordially and in harmony with you and your government for the Nation, under the banner of respect, mutual understanding and in an atmosphere of peace and serenity for the good of the country that your Government is called to lead for the next four years.
For my part, in light of the concerns repeatedly raised by your political movement, I can assure you with the utmost sincerity that I will respect the Institutional role assigned to me as Sovereign of the Istalian Empire according to the laws of the Imperial Constitutions.
As evidence of the fact that no tyranny, no autocracy, no regime has been established in Istalia to the detriment of the Democratic Order, according to the law, I will always respect the decisions adopted by this Government and approved by the National Assembly until the democratic order will be guaranteed and protected.
I'll not exempt myself, on the other hand, as a just Sovereign and a good Perpetual Guide of the Nation should do, to address to the Government and especially to the Prime Minister Imperial Secretary of State my Advice, to make my thoughts known and to express my possible concerns.

There is so much to do and the legacy that the previous governments entrust to the new executive is important and first of all I think it is appropriate to face the numerous international commitments in sight.
The upcoming State visit of the Solentian President and of the Government which has already expressed the will to meet the Crown and the Government here in Romula. Needless to mention how important it is to maintain good relations of friendship and cooperation with our Solentian neighbors, for the interests of the Nation as well as for the benefits that greater cooperation with Solentia can bring to this part of the continent.
The official State Visit of the Istalian Crown to Kiel and to the Imperial Hulstrian Court, where my person was invited by Kaiser Hans Friedrick Albert lll in person, who brought his personal support to a dialogue between our two nations which was started already previously my ascent to the throne as Emperor of the Istalians.
Then, a possible visit by the Rector of the Republic of Selucia who was officially invited to visit Romula by the outgoing Prime Minister Valenti on my initiative, in light of the recent concerns expressed in Auroria for the recent constitutional reform in Istalia.
In the domestic context, I can only invite the new Government to continue the work of renewing the Armed Forces undertaken by the previous governments to guarantee the country a defense that is always at the forefront and that can effectively counter any threat to the Country and then, finally, continue to favor the economic recovery that is affecting the country in this new period of growth and expansion.

In conclusion, I cannot but wish, and I am sure it will be the case, that the values and principles of the nation wisely guide the work of this new government and that the nation can find the necessary peace, harmony and stability.
May we find first of all the way to work together in harmony and cooperative spirit.

Immediately after the Emperor's speech, the Archchancellor solemnly named all the Ministers of the new Government, starting with Prime Minister Saeed, declaring its tenure officially started.
Once the Ceremony was over, the Emperor and the members of the new Government moved to the Courtyard of Honor, the largest of the two inner courtyards of the Palace, for the inauguration photo as per rite, but then the Grand Chamberlain did not accompany the members of the Government in the Salone degli Affreschi (Hall of Frescoes), where traditionally Quattroregni Palace has always held a refreshment after the Ceremony of Appointment of the Head of Government under the Fourth Republic, since Prime Minister Saeed had already made it known that he would not have wished to stay after the Oath.

The new Nationalist Government is therefore starting to take its first steps as the second Government of the Istalian Empire, escorted by the Crown's numerous assurances of respect for its work. Now public opinion can only hope that the nationalists will be able to integrate and work adequately in the new Imperial framework of Istalia.

Valenti attacks the first Nationalist moves: "They talk about Democracy and Rights but once at the power now they are ready to rip it out!"
L'ex Capo del Governo non solo si è scagliato contro le prime proposte della nuova maggioranza in parlamento ma si è espresso anche sulle elezioni e sul futuro dell'Alleanza
Image

21 February 4576

ROMULA - The first proposals by the new Nationalist majority are starting to be presented to the National Assembly and the former Prime Minister and now leader of the opposition, Damiano Valenti, didn't waste any time to attack them.
The former Prime Minister, in fact, took the stand during the debate phases of both the first two bills presented by the Government, to harshly criticize the the Nationalists and especially to blame them of the fact that despite they are bandying about Democracy since they reorganizated themself starting to attack the Imperial Reform.

The two bills metioned are the Istalia Withdrawals resolution and the Military Reform Act 4576.
The first one is aimed to make withdraw Istalia from two treaties: the Eliminate Slavery Treaty and the one establishing the League of Anti-Slavery Nations. The second one, instead, is a reform of several policies related to the Armed Forces and among which the provision that pushed the opposition and Damiano Valenti to express oll thier indigniation and dismay.

This is Valenti's intervention during the debate on the Military Reform Act:

Collegues,
we vote against to this bill for two reason: first because we are globally against it, but, most important, we cannot absolutely accept the second article and so the introduction of an official discrimination by part of the State and one of its parts, the Armed Forces, against some of citizens on the basis of their sexual orientation.

When you talked about Democracy and Rights, were they intended to be the Democracy and the Rights of just the heterosexual people?
Where is the democracy if there are citizens of B class? Where is the democracy when the law DON'T apply to everyone, when the law ISN'T equal for everyone?

This is the democracy do you want?

In the light of also your decision to make withdraw Istalia from 2 Anti-slavery Treaties, which withdrawal purpose it is not clear and it was not explained by the Foreign Minister, the PNI will be even more ridiculized each time its exponents will continue to talk about democracy.

This is the democracy do you want?

Thank you

Damiano Valenti, then, meet with the journalist to which he released these words:

They talk all the time about Democracy and Rights but once at the power now they are ready to rip it out! They stressed us, accused us, attacked us and first of all they attacked His Majesty with allegations of tyranny and fall of Democracy for years, and now what are they doing? They are ready to dictate about who can or not have this or that right. And on what basis? The sexual orientation and preference? It is not less serious if it is provided for the Armed Forces a "don't ask, don't tell" policy. Despite still allowed, the homosexual members of the Armed Forces will be forced to hide their sexual orientation, risking to lost their careers if their homosexuality should become public. This is Democracy? There is no REAL Democracy without real EQUAL rights for EVERYONE.

Democracy is not an elected Head of State, Democracy is not a Parliament which approves the laws, Democracy is not just an organized procedure, Democracy is inclusiveness, Democracy is culture, Democracy is the absence of legal discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, opinion or political faith. This is Democracy and we of the National Alliance, despite the hard criticism and the constant allegation of tyranny, we remained faithfull to the true meaning of Democracy.
Continuing the work and respecting the words of Michele the First, we will be always for a true Democracy which doesn't recognize discrimination, for a culture of democratic inclusiveness and openess.

However, I'm equally if not more concerned by the law presented by the Foreign Minister Farooq to whom I asked to explain to the National Assembly why the Government is withdrawing from such two treaties. These treaties, in fact, bind our country in rejecting the slavery and the slave trade and I really don't understand why and how these treaties make feel the Government so uncomfortable.
What is certain, however, it's that this Government which withdraws from treaties against the slavery make feel us and whole nation umcomfortable. This is sure!

Then the leader of the Alliance was pressed by the journalists about the future tenure of the Alliance as parliamentary opposition:

We will try to work with the collegues of the Istalian Nationalist Party, we shall work together for the benefit of the Nation. However, I expect a strong resistance by their part and also I expect that they will work alone and that they will go straight to their path.
By part of the National Alliance, however, we will continue to do our part and to present our proposals to the Parliament. Of course, first of all we will never let our guard down and will protect the Empire and the Imperial Constitution, this is sure, but due to the fact that very unlikely the Nationalist will be able to reverse the new Constitutional Order, we will focus ourself on the future.
The Social Democrats left or are leaving the Alliance today and it is clear that many of them decided to support the PNI for its economic positions and granted to them the necessary votes to gain the majority of the Assembly, so, the party will begin its shift from a big-tent party to become a true oriented political party and among the most important proposals which we will present, there will be the reform of the Healthcare with services contracted to private organizations that I already announced during the electoral campaign, a reform that will grant, I'm sure, more efficiency and will allow to the citizens to really decide who they wish to treat them, what kinds of medical services, what structures, and so on.
Then, of course, we will always promote a business-friendly approach to the economic and obviously, we will continue to defend equal Rights for all citizens, this is a promise and on this we will make our voice heard!

Hulstrian Kaiser warmly welcomes Michele I in his first official State Visit abroad as Emperor
The Emperor and the Kaiser agreed in promote more cooperation between their two countries

The Emperor welcomed in Kien

10 June 4576

KIEN - The first official State Visit of Michele I as Emperor of the Istalians, using the words of His Majesty, "was a really pleasure and also very productive and fruitful for the relations between Istalia and Hulstria Gao-Soto".

The Emperor departed from Romula with his wife the Empress Consort Margherita with the rest of his Staff, which Chief of Staff for this trip, on demand of the Emperor, was His Imperial Highness the Prince Alessandro (44), who acted as one of the most close personal attaché of His Majesty. His Highness Prince Alessandro is the firstborn of the Grand Prince Mattia, elder brother of the Emperor, who, like his uncle, is a career officer of the Air Force with the rank of Colonel.

Their Majesties arrived in Kiel welcomed at the airport with all the honors of the cases by a guard of honor and by officials of the Hulstrian Imperial Household.
The Emperor and the Empress, on an elegant limousine, was escorted along the city routes, full of onlookers and citizens interested by the new Istalian Monarch.
Arrived at the Fliederbrunn Palace, Their Imperial Majesty were really warmly welcomed by the Kaiser Hans Friedrick Albert lll, the Kaiserine Annemarie l and the Gao-Showan Emperor Kurosawa Morinaga, all of us who showed themself really cordial and friendly in welcoming the Istalian Imperial Couple.
After a visit of the Palace, the two Sovereign continued their meeting in a dedicated room followed by the press while the Empresses continued the visit into the Garden of the Palace guided by the Kaiserine.
The first day was concluded with a State Banquet followed by a State Reception during which the istalian press noticed how the Emperor always kept close to him Prince Alexander which had also the opportunity to entertain himself in a long conversation with the Kaiser, which is just few years younger than Prince Alessandro.

Image
Emperor Michele and the Empress Margherita arriving for the State Banquet

The second day was dedicated mainly to the visit of the city, "one of the oldest and culturaly richiest center of Dovani that the Hulstrian Kaisers greatly enriched with art and monuments", as described by the Emperor. The Imperial Couple had the opprtunity to see some of the most famous sites of the city, like the National Cathedral, Korlburg Palace, Hulstrian Museum of Art and finally the Emperor and Kaiser paid tribute to the Memorial for the fallen in the Hulstrian Civil War, during which Istalia partecipated to the liberation of the country from the Suprematist Regime.
In the evening, finally, a concert was held at Schloss Kien in honor of the Istalian Imperial Couple.

For the third day, the Kaiser and the Kaiserine brought Michele I and Empress Margherita to Castle Hulstria, in the countryside around Kien, where the two Sovereign talked about the future of the relations between Istalia and Hulstria Gao-Soto. Both have agreed to promote much closer relationships between the two nations. Istalia and Hulstria would both find key partners so that they could penetrate the continental markets of Dovani and Majatra respectively; moreover, the Kaiser has mentioned a certain need by part of the Armed Forces of Hulstria and Gao-Soto for new equipment and innovations that the renowned Istalian technology could supply.
In conclusion of the press conference with journalists, both Emperors expressed their hope that the Governments of Istalia and Hulstria Gao-Soto will be able to negotiate a free trade and friendship treaty based on economic, industrial and cultural cooperation.

Image
His Imperial Highness Prince Alessandro parteciping the State Banquet as Chief of Staff of His Majesty

The fourth day, greeted and thanked the Kaiser and the Kaiserine, The Imperial Couple left Hulstria Gao-Soto after a more than positive trip to return at home.
The istalian press, however, is remained also quite interested about the space that the Emperor gave to his nephew Prince Alessandro during the visit, noticing that he had much more visibility compared to his role as Chief of Staff of the Emperor and many are starting to thought that this could have been a "signs".
The children of His Majesty, the Grand Princesses Paola (34), Luisa (31) and Ginevra (23), in fact, since the enthronement of their father didn't showed to be too much interested in the State Affairs and their attendance to official cerimony and other official events was very limited.
The Emperor, however, several time explained how his daughters have chosen different study and professional carrers, which are not really suitable for the succession, and also that unlikely one of them will accept to suceed to him.
Could this overexposure of Prince Alessandro during this State Visit a way to anticipate a future decision of the Emperor about the succession to the Throne? Actually Prince Alessandro has been always very close to his uncle, like him he pursued the military career into the Air Force and then followed the uncle in his political adventure when Michele took the field founding the party Glory and Rebirth, sitting also into the last cabinet of the post-thallerist provvisional government and then in the first of the Fifth Republic under the uncle.
It seems that Prince Alessandro is the best choice for the succession and the State Visit seems conforming this.

President John McSane of United Solentia visits Istalian leaders.

The United Solentian President, John McSane, along with his newly appointed Vice President, Ryan Paul, came to have a long awaited meeting with the Istalian Government today. While meeting with the majority party, Partito Nazionalista Istaliano, they discussed trying to prevent Istalia from swaying into Imperialism as the former Imperialist party attempted to do and concerns from other members of the United Solentia Government. The Head of State, Faisal Saeed, reassured President McSane that he would make sure imperialism would never attempt to rise again and there should be no concerns.

We reached President McSane for comment, this is what he had to say

I'm glad to see things are getting better in Istalia. We were very worried that the Imperialist Party was going to drag us into a war, something we have absolutely no interest in. Relations between us and Istalia have been better than they have ever been and I'm sure everyone hopes they only continue to get better. The Order Party, The Republican Party, The Right-Wing Nationalist Party, The Conservative Democrats, along with myself will continue to keep our beautiful nations friendly and I'd hope both paries in Istalia plan to do the same.

Former Prime Minister Damiano Valenti harshly rejects the allegations about intentions of war against Solentia: "These are falsehoods!"
The leader of the National Alliance for the Empire, Damiano Valenti, demands official explanations to the Solentian government about these accusations and points the finger against the Nationalists at home: "all this it's called defamation and in Istalia there are laws that forbid the spread of proven falsehoods!"

ROMULA - The recent visits in Istalia of the Solentian President and his comments about vaunted intentions of war against Solentia by part of the previous government led by the National Alliance for the Empire made blow up all the angry of the National Alliance for the Empire which, for his Leader, is costantly victime of smearing campaign and false allegations.
Damiano Valenti met the journalist in the headquarter of his party where he released a statement:

All these are falsehoods, only petty falsehoods! The Government which I was honoured to led never expressed such intentions of war against Solentia and indeed very numberous time we reassured Solentia about our intention to maintain our friendship and our defensive alliance.
But... "coincidentally" these shameful allegations came after that President McSane met with our current Government, which leading party, the PNI, since its recreation it's doing nothing but smear us, His Majesty the Emperor and all the Imperial Reform with allegations of illegitimacy, with allegations of tyranny, with allegations of suppresion of the democracy and now we can only conclude that the PNI said all these falsehood about us to the Solentian President.
However, we are confused by the fact that President McSane can believe to these allegations, after all the demonstration of friendship and of our intention to maintaion our good relations.
To him, now, I can only say this: President McSane, it seems that you was backslidden by someone, this is sure. We are not the Imperialist party, we are the National Alliance for the Empire, a party aimed to support the Imperial Reform in Istalia.
Imperialism is other than a system of Government called "Empire", Imperialism, instead, is a policy of extending a country's power and influence through colonization, use of military force, or other means, and we are not this! We never claimed nothing of this, we never menaced Solentia of this, and the proof are under our eyes, why are you saying such things Mr President? Why?
However, if the responsible is the PNI, I want say them that in Istalia are in force laws against the publication of falsehoods and if they will continue to smear us in such a way, we will ask the intervention of the Judiciary!

Then, Mr Valenti showed the official message sent to Solentian authorities with the formal demand of explaination with all the proofs in favor of the innocence of the National Alliance, of his Government and of at the time Prime Minister Valenti:

We the National Alliance for the Empire demand officially clarification about this: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&p=149148#p149148

I would like to know of what war are you talking about?

What make deduce you that the National Alliance party wants declare war to Solentia?

Our party is the one that pushed for the estaglishment, and created, a new treaty between our nation: http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreat ... atyid=4374 (which provides a no aggression pact and a veritable military defensive alliance)

Our party was the one to promote with you the megaproject of the 3 tunnels under the mountains between our nations: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&start=1250#p148895

Our party is the one which plauded Solentia for the end of the fascist regime and the one who pushed to tear down the fortified system between our nations: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=4118&start=1240#p148679

And Emperor Michele is the same Michele Appiano De Borromei that once led the party and that was the veritable mind behind all these proposals to put an end to the contrast between our two nations and that established an Alliance between us.

And after the Imperial Reform, when and how did the first Imperial Government or the Emperor menaced of war Solentia?

When Istalia declared to have "Imperialistic" agenda aimed to attack or subjugate other nations?

We reassured Solentia about the absence of any malevolent intention and our resolutness to maintain our friendly alliance like:
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=600271
http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=600291

We would like ask an explaination about the recent statements made by President McSane.

In support of our innocent position, we past here the perfect trascription of some messages between the Istalian government previously led by our party and Solentian governments and other parties:

Message from our party (ANI) to the solentian Right Wing Nationalist Party (RWNP):

From ANI:
Greetings,
in the name of the Government of the Istalian Empire, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, it was asked to me to get in touch with you after a comment you left during a process of vote to one of our recent reforms: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=600268

My Government didn't understand such intervention. We don't understand why to call this a Tyrannical Regime. What tyrannical regime?

As per new Imperial Foundamental Law: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=600268 Istalia is now officially a Constitutional and Parliamentary regime which provides:
- a National Assembly elected by all citizens which appoints an Head of Government and a cabinet after elections on the basis of the democratic will of the people.
- the new role of the Emperor has not political power but it has only supervising and guarantor powers.
- A Rule of Law and Democratic Regime is still in force

So, why to call the new Istalian Empire a Tyrannical regime? Our new Emperor, His Most Excellent Imperial Majesty Michele I is the same Michele Appiano De Borromei with which Solentia reached to an historical agreement. We don't menace the integrity of Solentia, its territory or our friendship. So, why to call us a tyrannical regime?

If you read our new Imperial Constitution, you can see that no tyrannical but a democratic regime is enforced. So, don't be afraid, we are still the same Istalia with which you established the recent relations. We just reformed our institutional and government regime.

For any clarification I'm at your disposition.

Friendly,
Jad Salameh,
Minister of Foreign Affair of the Istalian Empire

Response of RWNP:
Dear Istalian Government

Let me just say this. We do not wish to harm relations with you. We want to be friends and allies with you. We understand that democracy still is active in your country for that we are happy about. The Government of Solentia officially accepts your request of a formal visit. We feel this shall mend any tensions between our two nations. We also wish to invite your leaders to our country but we can plan that another day. We were mistaken by the bills and we thought that the emperor meant that Istalia was turning into an empire. We in Solentia are very concerned about this because of policital parties in the past. May our visit be productive and good!

Sincerely

President Heidi Fjelstad & Foreign Minister Skye Foster

This is instead a message from our previous Government to the Solentian President (ORDER PARTY)

From ANI:
Friends of Solentia,
we don't know who is blacken the Istalian recent events, but all these reactions by part of Solentia are simply disproportionate and unjustified.
Imperialism? Freedom? Retourn to a Democratic State?

Istalia is and remains a Democratic State which respect as per Constitution the rights of its citizens and where the Rule of Laws principles are respected.

The term "Imperialist", instead, alludes to a rapacious and aggressive military international behavior which our country didn't express recently and is not expressing now, not against Solentia, not against whatever nation of Terra. Istalia didn't showed supposed or manifested threat for the sovereignty or the territorial integrity of Solentia. This is a fact.

Istalia friendly stance toward Solentia doesn't change with the recent Constitutional reform and we can assure you that the Democratic system of Government is not in danger, undermined or abolished. The democratic principles permeate the Imperial Constitution: http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill. ... lid=599897, which delineates a representative parliamentary democracy under a monarchical head of state.

We invite Solentia to review its measures and we renovate the invite to your highest officials to visit Romula.

- Istalian Ambassador in Solentia

Response of the ORDER PARTY:
We'd like to meet within your nation so we can discuss these concerns.

The Government led by the Order Party then made known to us that the vice-president of Solentia were in voyage to came in Istalia and encounter our Government and we invited also the President of Solentia to meet with the Emperor. After this, we didn't receive no more communication and now, after that the Solentian Government met with our new Government led by the PNI, your President is claiming that we had or have war intention against Solentia,

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FALSE and we demand explaination.

DEATH OF ARCH PATRIARCH MARTINUS XXll

September 5th 4577
Florenza- The Auroian Patriarchal Church is reeling today after the death of the Arch Patriarch. He died at his home in Florenza. He had visited the Istalian Cathedral yesterday in a wheel chair. He had been battling cancer for 6 months and he wasn't expected to live. The college of cardinals will be voting to see who will become the next patriarch. Martinus was known for his love of liturgy and his belief to sticking with traditional doctrine. There will be localized mourning ceremonies for days and possibly weeks. His last words were "May God be with all of Terra, may we remember always whom to trust". The perish where Martinus grew up in, in Florenza is now packed with flowers and gifts.

The front runner to replace him is Arch Bishop Vagner in Hulstria.

This is indeed a sad day in Istalia...

Solentian former President issue a formal apology to Istalia about his highly criticized recent statements
In the meanwhile the international opinion on the imperial reforms began to distant itself from the falsehoods and the allegations which smeared Istalia and the National Alliance's party, which leader, Damiano Valenti, met several politicians in Solentia recognizing a general changement of public opinion

ROMULA - There is justice after all!, these were the simple words expressed by Damiano Valenti, leader of the National Alliance for the Empire, when former President John McSane released an official message worldwide to express a formal apology for his statements made following his visit in Romula to the current nationalist government.
Also his own political movement, the Order party, harshly criticized the former President which career, due to this diplomatic debacle, seems came to the end.
Furthermore, the Order party expressed enthusiastically words in favor of Istalia, underligning how maintaining the friedship and the alliance with Istalia is a goal of the party, a goal shared also by other parties.

Damiano Valenti, in fact, returned just few days ago from an informal voyage in Solentia where he met with Sir Caelan Stanley Bromell, leader of the Conservative Democrats, which expressed the firmly intention of his party to maintain and also further enhance the friendship with Istalia. These the comments by Valenti about his stay in Solentia:

I spent a wonderfull time in Solentia and I want thank the many demonstrations of solidarity and friendship I received. With Mr Bromell we found a great mutual understanding and I hope in the future we will be able to continue our dialogues within our respective governments. I found somone that fully recognized the truth and understood our frustration and that I warmly thank once again. Mr Bromell condemned McSane statements as outrageous and inappropriate. He expressed his intention to promote the creation of another treaty between Istalia and Solentia to highlight our integral relationship and to protect the soverignity of both our nations and advised that any further issues to be raised directly to the Conservative Democrats leader to be dealt with immediately. Caelan reiterated that he will never let an issue get into such political mess again. Finally he said to me that he was extremely happy to be able to deal with the matter as of urgency, over a coffee and a croissant with me, to whom I can only respond that I also really appreciated the conversation and the nice time spent with him.

But I'm not only talking about Mr Bromell and the Conservative Democracts who he leads, but we were warmly welcomed also by the Right Wing Nationalist Party, at the time controlling the Foreign Ministry and which expressed all its support for our position assuring us that he would have worked to convince the at the time majority to fully change its positions towards the Istalian Imperial reform and my party.

But I saw such changement in opinion not only within the political world and the Solentian government, but also among the people: I clearly perceived that the public opinion is moving away from the allegations and the falsehoods expressed against our party, against the Imperial reform and against our Emperor.

And I want conclude saying to those that want continue to fabricate dirt about us and the Imperial reform that the lies have short legs and that at the end the truth always emerge!

The Guard of Honor in the Main Courtyard of Quattroregni Palace deployed to welcome the Rector of Selucia

ROMULA - His Majesty Michele I this morning officially welcomed the Rector of Selucia Eleanora Curmisia to Quattroregni Palace, who arrived at the invitation of the Head of State and in the wake of the Selucian Regional Preators who had visited their Istalian counterparts several months ago and who set themselves to return in the coming months, rather interested in closely observing above all the new form of government introduced in Istalia.

From Selucia, in fact, several negative comments had come, albeit in a personal way, from various political exponents and from members of the Government, even from the former Rector Prometheus Cleareta, with which they expressed a certain discomfort for the introduction of a constitutional monarchy in Istalia and the acclamation of the celebrated Michele Appiano De Borromei as first Emperor of the Istalians.

The meeting, as announced by the Press Office of Quattroregni Palace, saw the two heads of state reiterate the mutual friendship between the peoples of Istalia and Selucia and therefore the Rector declared that she wanted to interface with the Istalian Government to negotiate further cooperation in international trade and education. Precisely on this last theme, the Emperor has fully agreed, emphasizing that greater integration in this field, favored by educational exchanges as well as by cultural projects undertaken by mutual agreement, will only cement the strong friendship and agreement between Selucia and Istalia.

Perhaps the only drawback on Rector Curmisia's visit was the pressure from journalists to her during the press conference with His Majesty relatively to her position regarding the constitutional reform and the Emperor. The Palace, in fact, had kindly asked the press to avoid questions regarding the personal opinions of the Selucian head of state, who already expressed her intention to maintain them separated by the official position of the selucian government, but the initiative of a journalist from Il Mattino di Bunogna has also dragged the other journalists. The Rector Curmisia, however, was tactful enough in dealing with the pressing questions:

I am here as Rector of Selucia and as such I speak on behalf of the Selucian Government which has already declared that it does not want to enter into the merits of an institutional reform of a third country that we recognized it has maintained and respected the principles of a democratic system of government.
My very personal opinions at this time would simply be superfluous and would not reflect the official position of the Selucian Government.

The Emperor, on the other hand, was particularly challenged by the press about the facts that recently involved the former President of Solentia John McSane:

I can only say that it takes courage and maturity to acknowledge one's mistakes and apologize for them and I believe this must be absolutely recognized to President McSane. However, I have to say that this demonstrates how superficial and hasty judgments, based perhaps on distorted news, if not real falsehoods, can lead to errors, misurestanding and even diplomatic crises. Precisely for this reason I have always supported and will always continue to argue that to build solid, profitable and lasting relationships, we need to open up to our interlocutors, to get to know each other, increase mutual understanding and thus overcome conflicting differences and opinions.
In this regard, I thank the Rector Curmisia and the Selucian Government, both for their efforts to look over personal conflicting opinions and then for the honesty shown immediately about the new imperial Istalian order, recognizing the democratic soul of the institutional reform and looking beyond the curtain of smoke generated by falsehoods and calumnies which, as mentioned, could have deceived other friends of ours.
