Thank you all so much for choosing me as your prime representative! I simply want to express my gratitude for all years I have gotten to know Messalina Sollecito. She has been a true mentor and friend to me and I wish to uphold her legacy of government efficiency and true equality between all classes of our society. She will be remembered as one of the greatest Prime Ministers of the Istalian Empire, and in my own personal opinion, I consider her one of the greatest Prime Ministers in the history of Istalia. [Brief pause] I would like to continue by hoping that the cooperation between us and the National Alliance for the Empire and of course between our partnership with Order, Faith and Family can continue. That's all I wanted to say for now, and thank you once more!
The Left Bloc mourns the death of Messalina Sollecito, a prominent political leader in Istalia and a worthy political rival.
Despite the more than obvious ideological differences between the two parties, the Left Bloc sends its condolences to the Populists and to Mrs. Sollecito's family.
Personally, from our positions as party general secretaries we have not gotten to interact with her on too many occasions, but in parliamentary debates, it is always refreshing to meet politicians who look beyond their own initials and are open to debate with respect.
Signed,
Alessia Soldato and Aristarco Azzara
General Secretaries of the Left Bloc
"Alaria is the main contributor to the istalian economy, and nevertheless, we see that it is the peninsular territories that use our resources the most and that most take advantage of the work of the islands, forcing thousands of citizens of this territory to emigrate to the peninsula, making living conditions worse and working conditions worse too. This situation is unsustainable in the long term, and as Governor of Silicia, I have a duty to fight for the rights of the citizens who have chosen me to represent them . "
I feel we need to change our party to better responds to the demands of our voters and we must assume a clear and solide position within the Istalian political landscape.
For to much year this party made too much compromises and the country itself was forced to accept compromises, keeping an unstable balance between liberalism and conservatism.
Now we have to recognize that Istalia is asking new freedom, greater freedom, the greatest freedom. The citizens ask them this! They need this, the country need this and we shall be ready to respond to these demands.
For this reason the National Alliance for the Empire since today will be know as "The Alliance" and I can assure you and to the country that this party is ready to defend and to promote the freedom of the country and of its citizens. Freedom from state intrusion, freedom from abuse, freedom for their lives. Liberty! Liberty shall be The Word, our beacon!
Clearly we cannot ignore these requests and claims coming from Alaria and it is right to honestly handle with, but it is clear as well that any claim about indipendence cannot taken seriously.
Furthermore, most important, I really hope that this new movement will be not used and exploited to uphold specific and divisive matters or worse, exploited by national political parties for thier own interests.
The Alliance is ready to talk, to dialogue and debate to find the best path to handle this situation, within the adeguate institutional places, with trasparence and cooperative stance.
These are worrying news and obviously we cannot but condemn such statements, opposing any form of discrimination.
I want assure to those who found a safe port in Istalia and to their descendants that this country is still the one which welcomed them almost a century ago and that this party will continue to strenously support a respectous and inclusive stance towards them, because they were recognize as istalian citizens, their children were born as istalian citizens, because they are Istalian citizens and they deserve respect and protection from any discrimination.
said Enrico Azzara after learning the results"It is a great day for the citizens of Alaria"
"these elections demonstrate the majority sentiment of the citizens of Alaria, who are calling for a drastic change in the relationship between the island and the peninsula. And I am going to take care of that mission. "
"It is clear that the strategy proposed by Co-Secretary General Aristarco Azzara continues to bear fruit, and this is the course that our party must follow. That is why, based on what the citizens voted for, we are going to try to form a government to change the course followed so far by successive conservative governments. "
And concerning the separatist ideology and movement of Alarianism, we will fight it. Istalia has its spiritual and cultural roots in Alaria and for it to secede would cause a massive blow to the Istalian people and the continent of Majatra. If it continues to grow, I might revive and campaign on the second ideology designed by our party's founder Giusto Zani, the so-called Romulanism. Perhaps this is the era in which Alarianism and Romulanism will become the main opposing ideologies haha. Still, Alarianism is a deceitful attempt of a Republic, the republicans have realized that the support for the current institutions are too strong, so this is how they will try to sneak in a Republic. Anyways, we are open for cooperation with the Left Bloc, and instead try to find a solution that does not involve a seceding nor a removal of the unitary state.
Of course! I want to remind everyone that the Populists was founded as party of compromise and pragmatism, we are open to any party ready to work for the betterment of the Istalian citizens. The Left Bloc and the Populists are both very close when it comes to what the state should intervene in for example, the only thing we oppose each other would be the question of centralization versus federalization, something that shouldn't be a problem in a coalition since we have sat in MANY governments with the federalist OFF. So yes, we are open for cooperation with them.
