Resounding agreement between Istalia and Beiteynu
Yishelem's new anarcho-capitalist government launches the dismantling and privatization of the armed forces while Istalian Institutions and privates agreed with to buy weapons and equipment and offer security and defense services

A few days ago, came the news that a group of Istalian institutions and privates get in touch with the new Anarco-Capitalist government of Beiteynu, with whom an agreement worth millions, if not billions of LIS, would be signed.
The Beiteynese Government is in fact proceeding with its programs of massive privatization and liberalization of the Nation which, among other things, will concern also the Beiteynese Defense Forces. The Government of Yishelem wants to entrust the task of national security and Defense to private contractors and, together with the Beiteynese companies, various istalian companies have proposed themself, including the "Gladio Security & Defense", founded in Kalopia during the years of the anarchy and of the Istalian and Kazulian Protectorates. Such istalian companies, indeed, until a few years ago were mainly based in different foreign nations, especially in nations with minimal or weak governments, this because of the istalian legislation that considers private military companies as forms of paramilitary forces, therefore illegal.
The istalian legislation has recently seen the authorization of paramilitary forces, framed within a strict government regulation, but this has allowed several companies to relocate directly to Istalia with the possibility of being much closer to the Institutions and to the Istalian economic world that matter, especially the defense industries.
For this reason, noting the decisions of the new Beiteynese Government, many contractors have successfully managed to put pressure on the Istalian Government to get in touch with the authorities of Yishelem and to propose the agreement that has been achieved with great satisfaction of the north-Majatran Government.

The Beiteynese Government has already stated that it intends to entrust mainly to local contractors the tasks of security and defense in large cities but in general has not placed particular limits or stakes to foreign companies that will most likely deal with defending borders, rural territory , air and naval warfare.
But Yishelem's decision to dismantle its own national armed forces not only paved the way for private military companies, but will also provide for a massive sale of weapons and equipment on which many private as well as the Istalian institutions plan to put their hands.
In view of the future commitments with private contractors in Beiteynu, a lot of material will certainly be sold to them and most likely Government and contractors will reach compensation agreements, with Yishelem ready to request very low prices for the material in exchange for strong reductions in the "bills" of the contractors, even if it is foreseen, however, that the agreement will bring in the coffers of the State huge revenues with great satisfaction of the Government.

But it is precisely on the matter of the sale of vehicles and equipment that the Istalian Government entered into the discussions, whose Ministry of Defense is ready to negotiate in order to get hold of the most important and valuable pieces: vessels and submarines are at the top of the list Government, then airplanes and helicopters, but probably what is most interesting is the chemical and bacteriological Beiteynese arsenal, given that the Government is going to provide for the dismantling.
The Ministry has declared that it is not intended to integrate such equipements within the Istalian Armed Forces, even if unconfirmed rumors talk about several Beiteynese submarines being integrated into the navy, but that the interest of the Istalian Defense is directed to the study and analysis of Beiteynese war technology, above all with regard to the chemical and bacteriological arsenal.
The Defense, in fact, has always suspected that the regime of, only in name, Democratic Yeudish Party, which collapsed only a few decades ago, could be involved in agreements with rogue states, terrorist, rebels and subversives groups to provide armaments, including chemical and bacteriological type and the study of similar artifacts will certainly allow to connect to the Beiteynese technology with attacks or other episodes that in the past have seen the use of similar devices.

Obviously, reaffirmed also by the Foreign Ministry, whatever the results of these analyzes will be, neither the current Government nor those that preceded in the recent past will be called to respond to the actions committed by the past regime and that the restored relations between Romula and Yishelem will not be undermined, on the contrary, Istalia has expressed the desire to be able to tighten even more the relations with Beiteynu, already much improved during the government of the Conservatives, the first after the fall of the Democratic Party Yeudi.

Deltaria-Kalopia Crisis: the results of the investigation freeze the dialogues between Istalia and Kalopia
Great disappointment for the Government of Romula, recently approaching to the one of Eleopolis, which dismayed blocks all dialogue and announces that it will participate in exercises alongside Deltaria

RAMULA - The news is shaking the whole continent, while from Romula came dismayed statements of extreme disappointment for the result of investigations conducted by the team of international experts of the Majatran Alliance alongside the Deltarian investigators.
The evidence collected by the investigative team in effect put four important ministers of the Kalopian government at the corner, as well as among the leading members of the Reform Party, the party in power for several years in Kalopia, which have been linked to the activity of the subversive groups responsible for the terrible attack against the Deltarian Imperial family.

Despite the increasingly close relations between Romula and Eleopolis in recent years, all President Gomez could do was to immediately freeze all relations between Kalopia and Istalia and put his veto on the dialogues of recent months around an important bilateral treaty between the two nations.
Gomez also confirmed that Istalia will participate in the exercises organized by Deltaria in response to the increase in tension in center Majatra, stating that after similar news, Istalia can no longer continue to propose itself as a neutral party, not in the face of similar revelations and that it is now time to assert its leadership role within the Majatran Alliance and to ensure adequate support for the Deltarian ally.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has therefore issued a statement on the matter:

The results of the investigation carried out by the international team in Kalopia resulted to be very disconcerting and the Istalian disappointment has been great in learning all this. Istalia can not accept such attempts of foreign destabilization, this goes against the most basic principles of international law and we are ready to support our Deltarian allies and their demands before the Kalopian government.
Four important ministers were found involved in this investigation and in liaison with those responsible for the terrible attack against the Deltarian Crown, now it is time to understand if all this was orchestrated by the Government itself, whether it were separate actions of those ministers or of the Reform Party, but the Kalopian Government can not simply continue to deny, it has a duty to clarify its position as soon as possible and, in the event that no further government involvements are discovered, take serious measures against those responsible, measures that do not should exclude the possibility of their extradition to Deltaria.
If we do not receive a positive response in this sense within a short time, the Istalian Government in concert with the Deltarian one and with those of the rest of the Majatran Alliance is ready to impose serious and severe sanctions against Kalopia and to bring the Government of Eleopolis in front of the major international organizations.
Therefore, further measures are not excluded to bring justice and to put an end to what appears to be a serious attempt to destabilize the continental peace, a peace that Istalia, as it has reiterated several times, will do everything to protect against those who instead tried to knock it down.

Negotiations at risk, from LP: "difficult to ally with those who vote to dismantle our welfare and to increase even more the public debt
Liberal Progressives' leadership infuriated for the alignment of CdF with the Right

RAMULA - From Viale delle Vittorie (headquarters of LP) both the Demohosians and Coalition of the Future received the short but explosive message from the Liberal Progressives: negotiations at risk.

Following the alignment of Coalition of the Future with the right-wing parties on the controversial Liberal Democrats' bill "Economic Justice", Liberty and Progress' leadership immediately announced that they refuse to continue the dialogue between Altra Istalia coalition and the party which since the first hours after the recent elections was indicated as a possible government ally.

The Whip of the LP into the Chamber, Riccardo Morelli, meeting the journalists, explained the reasons for this decision:

The party will not accept further attacks on the Istalian Social State and clearly we can not continue to dialogue with CdF that votes in support of a reckless and populist tax cut when one of the programs on which it was finding an agreement was just right an effort to decrease the already large public debt.
We had compromised, we would have voted in favor of a general budget reduction, up to 1% for each department, and believe me, for us who have been denouncing for years underfunded public administration and services it has been a very difficult choice. This shows who really thinks to our citizens and the future generations, who wants to avoid to leave to our children a burden that over the years can only increase, who is ready to make sacrifices and perhaps even displeasing their supporters acting in this way, because we are not so attached to some seats to introduce drastic measures without thinking to the consueguenze but only to attract easy votes!
We founded Altra Istalia coalition because we wanted to show that there is really another Istalia, a pragmatic one and not blinded by ideologies and economic paradigms disavowed already time ago.
Our citizens come before than any place in a Ministry, a Commission or a Department.

President Marco Gomez has finished what Votta started and what Romulani continued: Relations with Vanuku at an all time high!
The President has also commented, once again, on the lack of a governing coalition

After decades, if not centuries, the relationship between Terra's and Majatra's greatest powers have been normalized and are even headed for the stars with a recently proposed Economic Agreement between the two powers. Political commentators have noticed, how no matter what happens in Parliament, or even the election campaign, the Presidency remains consistent as not only the face of Istalia, but also the chief diplomat of Istalia on the national and international stage, especially during times of political/parliamentary impasse - which Istalia sadly experiences more often than it would like. It does not matter who is in office, be it the constitution-loving Gianluigi Rosso, the reformer Di Nacosia-Rohan, the classical conservative Votta, the almost socialist Romulani or the fiery isolationist Gomez - the presidency continues to carry out its duties and such advances in diplomatic relations with a former rival can be almost completely attributed to the Presidency. Not Votta, who started the process, not Romulani, who advanced the process and not Gomez, whose belief in bilateral relations finished the process - the presidency did and this should shut up any critics of this position, be it those who want a fully parliamentary Istalia or those who want a monarchical kingdom of Istalia. God bless Istalia and help the Presidency in such continuously difficult times.

Image
Mr President happy with the Economic Cooperation Treaty with Vanuku which was a result of great leadership from two polar opposite Istalian 'establishment' parties the liberal LP and the nationalist PNI/PNP

Additionally, the President has commented on the ongoing political impasse in Istalia, as once again a coalition government is struggling to be formed:
In light of the recent inability of the largest party, the DHI, to form a new governing coalition, this responsibility is now open to be taken up by all parties, particularly the LP as second largest party and the CdF as the largest party of the economically liberal wing of Istalian politics. Nonetheless, forming a coalition is not solely their responsibility as firstly we all have duties in front of the Istalian voters, like my predecessor Mr Votta liked to say: we are civil servants! Moreover, all parties have a very similar number of seats, the miniscule advantages one party has over the other should not act as a license to slack in the opposition, all parties ought to take responsibility.

My aim as President this term is to pass an MA bill, should it fail due to a lack of government, I will resort to something which I can promise my voters, namely the Istalexit people's referendum. Hence, the ball is in your half, honourable deputies!

Thank you and good luck!

The current political climate in Istalia is harsh and more competitive than ever before, with the right divided all over the place and the left relatively united economically but utterly malfunctioning socially. Currently, three possibilities are being regarded as feasible - assuming that a solution to the lack of a coalition will be found within this legislative period:
1. The left agrees with the CdF - however due to the recent alignment of the CdF a little to the right, this previously most likely possibility is now shrinking down to the least likely possibility
2. The PNI/PNP joins a coalition with the left - not impossible as this has been done before even in recent history where the polar opposite established parties have joined forces in order to achieve something greater than them, this time the goal as highlighted multiple times by the President is to pass MA reform as otherwise an Istalexit referendum will be pushed which no one knows how will that go. However, this coalition's chances are microscopic as the only thing uniting the parties is the desired MA reform, concerning everything else there is a continuous pattern where the parties in question constantly agree to disagree.
3. A right coalition emerges led by the CdF and backed by the PNI/PNP, ULD and Monarchists - this in recent days seems like the most likely outcome as the disastrous result of the ULD and Monarchists should have definitely shot down their respective egos and the right may finally unite once again under common policy. However, this would betray their parties ideals as all of the four "right wing" parties have completely different visions. With the CdF being most centrist desiring sustainable economics, with the ULD filling the void left behind by the CC, with the PNI/PNP pursuing isolationist foreign policy in order to establish their desired authoritarian state (with minor glimpses of libertarianism in the shape of Vespa-Baldassare) and the monarchist which as the name suggests intend to introduce an undemocratic King at the helm of the "Kingdom of Istalia", whose only claim to the throne is the fact that he is filthy rich...

These are the choices which our democracy is facing in the 44th Century.

Di Nacosia-Rohan: "Great Coalition with the President's Party?"
The Liberal Progressives propose to DHI leadership and allies of Altra Istalia to reach out to the Nationalists for the already proposed budget cuts and to create the ambitious treaties for the Majatran Alliance

RAMULA - Liberty and Progress continues to animate the national political scene: after the rejection of a possible government alliance with Coalition of the Future, now the National Secretary di Nacosia-Rohan proposes to Amelio De Vincentis (Demohosians' Leader and appointed Prime Minister) to reach out to President Gomez's party to form a Grand Coalition.

The Leader of LP proposes to the colleagues of the National Party to work together on two very important objectives: the first, considered by LP since the beginning of the legislature as the most vital measure for the country at this time, is the already proposed cut up to 1% to each public department to reduce the national budget and buffer the public debt that, with the passage of the recent law "Economic Justice", has increased even more, now reaching almost 23 billion LIS.
The second project on which this Great Coalition should work is the package of Functional Treaties of the Majatran Alliance, namely a series of three treaties to be proposed to the Allied countries with which Istalia wants to offer more guarantees and protections for the political, economic and social principles on which the Majatran Alliance was built but which have not always been respected by the various member countries under authoritarian, isolationist or extremist governments.

In fact, President Gomez had long expressed his disappointment for these episodes of disregarding of the values of the Alliance, criticizing above all the fact that many of these Governments, despite their opposition to the founding principles and values of the organization, continued to take advantage of the economic benefits guaranteed by the Alliance, like aid for industrial and economic development, a common market through which to make circulate goods, capital and people (with benefit for companies and workers able to more easily reach the markets of the rest of the continent), a common monetary unit of account (or coin of account) able to harmonize national monetary systems and ensure greater security and stability in the financial markets, etc ...
The thought of Gomez can be so well summarized with the well-known istalian old saying: "you can not have the barrel full and the wife drunk" (likle the luthorian "have your cake and eat it, too"). The president has specified that, beyond the role of leadership of Istalia inside the Majatran Alliance, the country is the one which takes charge the most of the economic and financial necessities of the organization, so therefore, why must our country support most of the efforts while the others, ignoring the committments taken in front of the allies about the respect and protection of democratic principles, can still continue to enjoy the huge resources made available by the organization? Either everyone does their part by accepting rights but also duties, or it is better that Istalia does not continue to squander so many resources for this organization.

The leadership of LP, strongly criticized for the sudden refusal to dialogue with CdF, in the face of the "threat" of Gomez to put an end to the work on the Alliance in favor of a campaign to abandon it if a government will fail to be formed to finalize the project, has therefore decided to reach out to the President's party and thus guarantee the necessary majority to support the Head of State's pro-alliance proposal and dissuade him from continuing on the path of an Istalexit.

With regard to the latest statements issued by the Presidency, the National Secretary of Liberal Progressists wanted to express himself:

As already stated by Morelli, our party is always ready to the necessary compromise for the good of the country. A compromise, of course, can not however provide for silence in the face of the dismantling of national welfare, but certainly in that case it was not us who had to abstain. In the past we did it on this or that bill, to meet the allies, a willingness that CdF has shown not to have.
And it is precisely because we are willing to compromise and we always try to work for the good of the country that we want to meet President Gomez and dissuade him from continuing to support our exit from the Majatran Alliance.
It is true, Gomez may have put us on the corner with his "aut aut", but... in the light of our system of government, it is also his duty to push the political forces to finalize the formation of a government, it is his constitutional duty commit to presenting a Government to Parliament.
We had presented our aut aut to Coalition of the Future, but they chose to turn their backs on us. We will not turn our backs on the President, we will not turn our backs on the country, we will do everything to continue to guarantee its position on the continent and in the world , because we oppose the isolationist positions of Gomez and we want to work together to definitively dissuade him from taking that path and instead support it to ensure a more stable, strong and authoritative Alliance!

Finally, journalists have asked to di Nacosia-Rohan to comment on the words of Gomez about the role of the President of the Republic to reconnect with the past diatribe between monarchists and liberal progressives:

When LP worked on the Semi-Presidential solution, which has been working very well for two centuries, we have given reason to the Populars for Istalia's colleagues on the point of having a strong and authoritative figure at the head of the nation able to guarantee stability and continuity even in the face of possible political crises or impasse.
In more than one occasion this formula has proven to work well! We remember the terrible terrorist crisis of the end of the 42nd century, the Thallerist threat under the beloved President Rosso and therefore the recent take of position of Gomez. I must admit that a "Crowned" Head of State could not afford to take such responsibilities and assume such a strong role in a constitutional and democratic framework.
This is why I think the strong and violent statements recently expressed by this or that monarch, doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, are deplorable, because in the light of a lack of popular expression to legitimize their position they should leave to democratically officials elected by the people the task of responding to this or that government or foreign threat and then they have to focus on guaranteeing national unity, gratifying the populace sometime with some pompous ceremony and making smiles during the state visits.
For this... beyond some personal considerations, which are indeed really secondary, I think that a "serious" debate on an institutional reform of this kind is really far for Istalia whose soul, and I really believe that it will be so still for a long time, it is clearly Republican.

A declaration in which di Nacosia-Rohan also seems to already act as Minister of Foreign Affairs, a role that should play in a future government if the dialogue with the PNI will be successful, and with which he thus takes advantage to harshly criticize the recent reactions of the Chief of State of Narikaton and Darnussia, Marlon X, on the border incident with the Maliviane forces, and an official declaration is expected in support of Malivia once a Government is formed. But it seems that these criticisms have also been directed towards one of the closest allies of Istalia in Majatra, Deltaria, and to its Tsar, inviting him to moderation and to leave room for democratically elected officials, and therefore the Government, which, despite possible objections from part of the Deltarian Head of State, are considered in the eyes of Romula as the only ones with the necessary popular investiture to express the official positions of the nation. In Deltaria as well as in any other developed nation based on democracy and rule of Law.

MANFRIN: IN THE LONG TERM, THE BILL WILL REDUCE THE DEBT BY 10 BLN

Image
Adriano Manfrin denies the claims made by the Liberal Progressives
Adriano Manfrin, the young and popular democratic speaker for economic issues, announced that, unlike the LP says, the economic reform known as "Economic Justice" will have a "great impact on our economy and will reduce the national debt by 10 billion in the next ten to fifteen years". Many have speculated whether that is in reference to the entirety of the project (which has 3 parts: a VAT reform, a PIT reform and a pension reform). Manfrin, however, keeps silent.

You see, lowering the tax on luxury products already increased the amount of them produced,
and will keep doing so for the next years. Lowering the corporate tax is increasing the number of companies founded, and the tax increase on regular products does not really change the prices, but significantly increases the amount of money earned by the state. We are increasing the quantity which will, in return, increase the quality. Wait a few years.
commented the party's national coordinator and minister of trade and industry, Lucrezia Sabbatini.

CDF EXPRESSES CONCERNS
CdF party leader Teobaldo Tavani and the party leadership express their concerns on recent developments in government negotiations

Teobaldo Tavani leader of the Coalizione del Futuro has expressed his concerns on the coalition proposal made by the president. After a closed meeting with his party leadership in the Partito Costituzionale party president Tavani talked to the press saying:

The current coalition proposal of the president is a shame. The LP is a party that has been dwindling under its own existence for years. They call themselves progressive while they stop every positive change that our assembly tries to pass. The current budget deficit of 22 billion could have been handled in 2 ways. Lower the budget of several ministry's significantly and hope the people wont suffer to much. Or we could have lowered the taxes for our hard working citizens. Our middle class and treasury would be better off with a big taxcut then with a measure that will only hurt Istalian society. By cutting taxes we give the people more incentive to spend their money which in turn improves the economy. Yes we have a deficit. And yes cuts are needed and it needs to be adressed. But massive budget cuts will destroy our poorest and the services they rely on. We are concerned that yet another government with the LP could mean a direction that will damage our nation to the point of no return. I would call upon all proposed coalition partners to either reconsider this proposal or keep the destructive policy's out the door.

Afterwards Tavani went to parliament to attend a debate about the proposal. Again pressing the proposed coalition members to rethink their decision and choose for Istalia.

The CdF has never "lost" an election since its creation. Every election this party has won seats and its follower base keeps expanding thanks to its futurist thinking. Many young people flock to the CdF for an alternative that looks into measures for the long term rather then the short. We will keep an eye on this rather new party and see if it will continue to grow or will grind down like others before.
