Istalia responds to Cildania: "We are available for a deep reform of the Majatran Alliance, but the proposals are perhaps too ambitious"
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has raised concerns about the proposals put forward by the Government of Cildania, especially as regards the highest executive branchs of the future organization

ROMULA - Finally, Istalia responds to Cildania who recently questioned the role of the Majatran Alliance defining it irremediably compromised following the Jelbanian crisis and which, considering the organization in agony, proposed a profound restructuring proposing a new organization of the majatran nations.

After long consultations, the Istalian Government, found in a delicate situation, strongly affected by international criticism regarding the responsibilities linked to the degeneration of the conflict between Vanuku and Deltaria, despite the strong opposition of several Ministers and military summits, has finally decided to open up to dialogue with Cildania, and of course with the rest of the Majatran nations, defining itself willing to cooperate and work together on the Alliance's reform proposals.

Istalia agreed to the creation of specific branches for the new organization dedicated respectively to the Common Defense and to the Economic Cooperation and Integration, while it was decidedly more perplexed regarding the proposal of a Grand Legislative Assembly and therefore of a monocratic executive, both elected by the Majatran people. Istalia, in fact, wanted to underline the fact that the Majatran Alliance has never had deliberative bodies of this kind because it was not intended as a federal or confederal supranational entity, if you prefer, but as an organization of sovereign nations agree to co-operate together on different subjects, cooperation conducted directly by the governments of the member states.
Istalia, in spite of the fact that many also here share and support the idea of an evolution from the organization of nations to a multinational entity with a certain sovereignty, has declared that it would be extremely difficult to see so many nations lose part of their sovereignty, especially legislative one, in favor of an entity of this kind and that the nature of a covenant of sovereign nations that had the Majatran Alliance, although it could be considered its greatest weakness, had been so understood precisely to meet the many nations not willing to lose so much of their sovereignty.

What is certain to date is that the relations between Istalia and Cildania will certainly grow in the sphere of the Majatran policy and probably, with the increasingly difficult relations between Istalia and Vanuku, especially for international criticism , Istalia will dedicate itself to establishing a new order of relationships within the continent giving more space to new emerging nations.

Image
First press conference for Yassen exposing his plans for his Presidency

A Gold-yellow Istalia: Aghar Yassen wins the presidency and the Alliance becomes first party
After 11 elections and 36 years the ULD is no longer the first party and falls in third position while the center-left coalition gains a large relative majority in Parliament

ROMULA - A Yellow gold and orange Istalia in the aftermath of the last general elections with the two parties of the Popular Front coalition, Radical Alliance and Democratic Front, respectively first and second party in Parliament (both in the Chamber and in the Senate). The coalition has also managed to elect the leader of AR Aghar Yassen at the Presidency who has won the second round with over 56% of the votes.

From the right, however, the detractors have already expressed their opinion saying that the Popular Front should only thank the fact that during the last parliamentary term the whole Nationalist front collapsed with the dissolution of PNI, LDPI and MUPI and therefore the voters who they advocated an interventionist role of the state in economics preferred to reward the Popular Front rather than the decidedly liberal parties of the center-right.

From Quattroregni Palace, a few days after the inauguration of Yassen, it was announced this morning that the President of the Republic has already started the consultations decided to form a government that sees the preponderant presence of AR and FD. The President has not yet announced a possible candidate to be invested as Prime Minister but he will certainly be a Radical or Democratic exponent. What is certain for the major analysts and experts is that in front of Yassen there are two possible ways to try: the Farmers' Party and the Monarchical Front. The former have always been open and willing to work with the center-left, even when closely affiliated with other parties or other coalitions; the latter, on the other hand, despite their current position on the extreme right of the political scene, have attracted Yassen's attention to the interventionist positions in the economic field and on which they could find several common points to work on.

Aghar Yassen, however, has already declared that he will play the role of President by asserting all the privileges and rights connected to the Head of the Istalian State and therefore a solid leadership is expected from the yellow-gold leader who has already presented several projects for the next legislature, including an increase in taxes on luxury goods to cover the newly created budget hole and to reinforce the principles of social justice, therefore declared its intention to increase the data collection and information capabilities of the Istalian defense and finally expressed his firm decision to work with the Majatran nations to avoid conflicts between the Majatran Alliance and the new continental organization promoted by Cildania, the Majatran Union of Nations (MUN).
Precisely on this last point, Yassen declared that Istalia is in favor of seeing the MUN succeeding the Alliance, an organization that suffered a severe blow because of the Jelbanian tragedy and for which Istalia can not deny certain responsibilities. The hope of Istalia is that MUN can be a new beginning and a solid foundation to guarantee another century of peace and prosperity to the continent like during the 43th century. Istalia will work, as declared to the closest allies, to translate the best of the Majatran Alliance within the new organization so that the transition from one organization to another is as harmonious as possible. Finally, he welcomed Cildania's proposal to place the MUN Presidency headquarters in Romula, a step that will contribute to the continuity hoped for by Istalia from the MA to the MUN.

For many it was only a matter of time, others had hoped that the markets could survive the evolution of the geopolitical situation in Majatra unscathed, but in the end the serious crisis that is going through the Majatran Alliance, disheartened also seems from the same Istalia, its main promoter, is making its effects felt on the istalian financial markets, became the largest stock exchange on the continent thanks to the Alliance and the financial integration and liberalization agreements promoted by the continental organization.

The major stock markets ended the day with a negative sign with billions and billions of burned LIS so that apprehension and uncertainty immediately began to spread uncontrollably. To feed the uncertainties also the possibility of a conflict of interest between the Majatran Alliance and the Union of Majatran Nations, fears that have not even been reassured by the assurances of Istalia regarding a "soft hand-over" between the two continental organizations.

What most fear the most of the experts is a general contraction of consumption due to uncertainty for the future and therefore a chain reaction that from Istalia could affect the other majatran stock markets and then spread across the continent, triggering a crisis that it could represent a very strong setback for all the continent's economy.
President Aghar Yassen has already announced that he will immediately get in touch with the governments of other majatran nations to discuss the risk of a serious economic crisis and to lay the foundations for a transition as harmonious as possible between the Alliance institutions and those of the MUN: at the center of the discussions, obviously, there will be the coordinated monetary system established by the Alliance thanks to the MACU, the unit of account of the Majatran Alliance to which each member state had tied its own currency in order to stabilize and coordinate the financial and monetary markets on the continent.

ULD REFORMS IT'S LEADERSHIP
From now on, the ULD will be led by 6 secretaries

Image
The ULD congress in their bulding in Romula, a property of the party for over 100 years now.

The drop in the support of the ULD was a big event; it is still a political powerhouse in Istalia, however, it is the weakest it has been in a very long time. Not only did most of the leadership, including the party's chairperson, resign, but so did a few influential members, due to the "huge bureaucracy within the party showing it's claws". And so, the ULD reformed; that was expected. But what wasn't expected, however, was the extent of the reform, and what it would bring; what happened was the abolition of the entire "big 10". Instead, the party will be led, or rather administered, by a council of 6 secretaries, which will be elected by the party congress, now consisting of 315 members, distributed among the regions (60 from each region, 15 from the capital). They will be chosen every 4 years; well, 2 will. The new method will look like this: for the first term, the ULD will choose 6 secretaries, with the 2 with the least votes serving their term until the next elections. Then, their 2 successors will be chosen. Then, after the elections in (most likely) 4 years, the 2 with the 3rd and 4th least votes will resign, and their replacements will be chosen, and after the next elections, the 2 with the most votes will resign, and their successors will be chosen. From then on, the secretaries will be replaced chronologically, 2 after each election; a term will consist of 3 Istalian elections. The 6 will then choose a president from among them; the president will (de jure) be the party's head until the end of their term as a secretary, which means that a person can be the party's president for 1 "term", as you will be able to become a secretary once. After each elections, the people with the 2 most votes from the congress will become secretaries. The secretaries will also have to choose the deputy chairperson, or the leader in parliament, and the whips in the senate and chamber of deputies; there will no longer be separate leaders in the 2 chambers. The president of the council will also lead the party's parliament.

This move, however, will supposedly personalize the ULD, and make individualism more important, due to the secretaries holding no executive power other than choosing the deputy chairperson, the whips in the chambers and the council's president. This will also supposedly heavily federalize the ULD, and make it more fluid; the party's de facto leader may not even be a secretary at any point of their career. Instead, the party's congress will have all the power; that, and the members of the party, who will also choose the party's presidential candidate.

However, this time, there will be one voting round and the presidential candidate will be chosen based on regional support.

Yassen ready to visit Selucia: new friendship treaty in sight for the two nations
The President: "We have always respected the traditional Selucian neutrality and we are very willing to do everything possible to reassure the Government of Auroria"

ROMULA - Quattroregni Palace announced this morning that in mid-April the President of the Republic will fly to Auroria to meet the Consul Haider bin Talal al-Mutanabbi and discuss together the revision of the Istalo-Selucian friendship treaty, considered as the most durable and solid treaty established by Istalia with another country.

In fact, some tensions had arisen when the Istalian Ambassador in Selucia had met the Consul to express a certain disappointment on the part of President Yassen about the recent attempt by the Selucian executive to massively revise Auroria's relations with many nations and international organizations, including Istalia.

To annoy the Presidency of the Istalian Republic were some statements made during the debate in the Selucian Senate about the danger for Selucia to be subjugated to the "imperialistic" interests of Romula. The President of the Republic, in fact, wanted to underline how Istalia has always held in high esteem the traditional Selucian neutrality and that no pressures have ever been made to support, financially as well as militarily, the international politics of Istalia.

The response of the Selucian Consul, wanted to let know Quattroregni Palace, was however calm and polite and direct communication between the two heads of state allowed the overcoming of initial tensions and then led to the organization of a state visit of Aghar Yassen in Auroria to meet Selucia's requests to better define the ties between the two countries and therefore to reassure the Selucian government of the fact that Istalia will continue to respect Selucia's non-interventionist foreign policy.

Image
Long queues at an agency of the Monte dei Marchesi di Silicia bank

Serious crisis for Monte dei Marchesi di Silicia Banking Group: at risk the savings of thousands of companies and citizens
Majatran Alliance bonds collapse and many Istalian banking institutions, among the main continental-level holders, risk losses for billions of LIS

ROMULA - The Majatran bonds promoted by the Majatran Alliance are in free fall and the largest holders on the continental level, namely many Istalian banks, are suffering terribly the blow.

Among the most serious situations is that of Monte dei Marchesi di Silicia Banking Group, whose financial unstability is now extremely serious, as announced by the bank itself in the past few hours. Also suffering from its two main branch banks, Credito Agricolo Alariano and Credicoop del Trivendito. The announcement triggered mass hysteria for customers of the banking group, which found the branches attacked by customers determined to withdraw their savings but who finally saw the management of the banking group decide for an extraordinary closure of the service to the clientele for at least a week.

The appeals were not delayed and immediately the Financial Police (PF) intervened and opened a dossier which will be followed by an investigation. The measure, however, said General Tonino Antoniani, Head of the Alarian Division of the PF, should not bring out illegal acts committed by the bank but rather will make clear the emergency situation of the banking group.
What is certain is that the Monte dei Marchesi di Silicia is one of the most important credit institutions in Istalia and among those considered too big to fail and therefore, in light of the legislation currently in force, this would lead the government to commission the institute and then nationalize it. This, however, would see the State take on huge losses.
The government, however, has declared that it is ready to create a special state bank ready to take on the toxic assets in circulation so as to be able to assist and help many other credit and financial institutions in serious difficulty.

The executive has however declared that extraordinary measures will be taken to face the crisis and among these the already mentioned increase in VAT on luxury goods, already announced by Yassen before the beginning of the crisis and which will become a measure to guarantee the State extraordinary funds to remedy the situation of the Monte dei Marchesi di Silicia Group.
In addition, the Ministry of Finance has also announced that in order to cope with the growing difficulties for companies and artisans faced with the decline in general demand, tax breaks and subsidies, as well as favorable interest rates, will be guaranteed for the purchase of vehicles and production equipment. The measure comes as a result of the increasing difficulties especially by part of small and medium entrepreneurs and farmers. The Farmers' Party, in spite of its traditional reticence to the increase in taxes, stated that it will guarantee its support to the measure in light of the fact that the farmers were among the categories most considered by the extraordinary measure.

Finally, the Government should also proceed with various monetary measures to deal with the crisis: first of all the nomination to Governor of Ettore Salvemini's Bank of Istalia has already been announced, which has already stated that interest rates will be strongly cut to contribute to economic recovery, therefore, the Government could decide to place the Lira within a defined fluctuation band so as to prevent the expansion of the effects of the fall of the MACU on the Istalian Lira.
