Foreign Affairs: Congratulations to the Canrillaise Federation but it is time to look at our own borders
With the end of the regime of terror of Thomas Rousseau in Alduria, Istalia wants to return to being a beacon of democracy on a global level: planned initiatives in the World Congress, alliances and then a thorny question to be solved: Solentia

ROMULA - The President of the Republic Maria Muller came this morning in front of the cameras to congratulate the Canrillaise Federation and the governments of the member nations, especially Kanjor and Lourenne, for the fall of the regime of terror established by Thomas Rousseau and his Nationalist Party in Alduria.
With the escape of Rousseau and the taking of power of the moderate wing within the Nationalist Party, dismantled and replaced by a decidedly more moderate political movement, a forced decision given the strong international pressure, the new Aldurian Government is already implementing the due reforms to put an end to the totalitarian regime, reintroduce political, civil and social rights and then stop the persecution and massacres against ethnic minorities and especially against the Majatrans.
However, the President of the Republic emphasized:

We can not forget that hundreds of thousands, some voices say millions, of people have been interned and massacred and certainly it was not Rousseau alone who perpetuated these terrible crimes.
For this reason, Istalia supports the creation of an International Criminal Tribunal for Alduria and the issuing of arrest warrant not only towards Thomas Rousseau, now a fugitive, but also against members of the party, the armed forces and civil society who have helped, assisted and collaborated in implementing the persecution, internment and killing of all victims of the regime.
We hope this can be a testing ground for the creation of a permanent International Tribunal to deal with war crimes and crimes against humanity and to judge those responsible for such acts. It will also be necessary to officially establish an appropriate instrument, such as an International Arrest Warrant that can be issued by any country and therefore a system of cooperation between law enforcement and judicial systems of the countries of the world.
Istalia will undertake to implement all these measures, hoping to receive positive feedback from as many governments as possible.

Thanks

From the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, instead, more information has been released regarding an initiative that Istalia is evaluating with the Selucian Government, namely the creation of a Declaration that really establishes what are the basic and necessary characteristics to recognize a Democracy and which clearly indicate how those principles derive from the more general concept of Human Rights, since all those freedoms and all those rights that must be recognized to the citizens of a nation so that the latter is defined as democratic, are nothing but an extension and a reconfirmation of all those rights innate recognized to every human being precisely as Human Rights.
Moreover, following intense dialogues between Romula and Wiel, especially following the events linked to Deltaria and Zardugal, Istalia would like to create an alliance of nations truly committed to the defense and spread of democracy in the world, which also can assist those nations not yet totally democratic to take the path of Democracy and which will tie the nations that will want to be part of this alliance with specific responsibilities and which should discourage support for clearly non-democratic nations for purely geostrategic and geopolitical goals.

But just in light of these objectives that Istalia wants persue, arose or perhaps it would be better to say that a rather thorny problem has re-emerged and that has always caused a certain "embarrassment" to the country, that is the Solentia issue.
In fact, for decades now, Solentia has repeatedly confirmed and assured a precise geopolitical alignment alongside Istalia, ensuring full diplomatic support as well as military support to Romula during numerous international crises.
Unfortunately, what creates embarrassment among the corridors of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is the fact that Solentia has long been dominated and hegemonized by a far-right political party that has determined above all the draconian anti-immigration and isolationist policies adopted in the last fifty years and that has established what many consider as a semi-dictatorship, with the Armed Forces firmly united with the aforementioned hegemonic party rising to true power among the other powers.
Unfortunately, the isolation and closure of the country towards the rest of the world makes it extremely difficult to collect news about the situation in Solentia from where comes fragmentary news of possible coups d'état, political persecution, especially towards parties with socialist or communist tendencies, as well as a series of measures that clearly indicate that democracy is about to die in the country.
After years of silence, the establishment of a National Unity Government in Romula but above all the danger of seeing Solentia enter the notorious Koeistad Pact, a pact between non-democratic, strongly nationalist and often segregationist nations, has definitively brought back the gaze of Istalia at its nearest borders, urging the Foreign Ministry to authorize the Istalian ambassador in Solentia to present a clear and strong warning to the local government that it does not ratify the treaty, on pain of the end of any relationship between the two countries.
Obviously, however, all this has brought to the attention of the public the domestic political situation of the country and many have begun to turn up their noses about a treaty established many decades ago with Solentia: is Solentia a democratic nation or not? Is it now under the rule of a far-right regime? Are we keeping silent in the face of the risk of serious political persecution?
Now these are questions that many are asking themself and that President Muller, fully agreeing with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, and former President, Aghar Yassen, finally wants to deal with. It is not excluded that Istalia asks for guarantees to Solentia such as to make it dependent on the continuation of relations between the two Eastern Majatran countries.

A new chapter for the National Democrats
Image
President Maria Muller: "Peace has come to Majatra, we will not let anyone destroy it!"

After the August 4456 elections, the National Democrats have won the Presidency and the Parliamentary election. This was mostly attributed to the great work done by now ex-President and ex-PND leader Juliana Vespa-Baldassare, who aged 77, after 3 Presidential Terms, 52 years of public service - most notable of which were her terms as minister of education - and 1 Istalexit later followed her vice-leader and former Prime Minister Cecilio Barzetti aka the Istalexit Prime Minister into retirement. In this time, she has witnessed everything a public official can witness. She modernized the education system in Istalian rural areas as education minister, she witnessed economic crisis which ironically elevated her and her party into the mainstream with the thoughts of "Istalexit" and "Istalia First", she witnessed the referendum, she witnessed the very long and difficult procedure of leaving, she witnessed the domino effect of the MUN essentially collapsing and instead of the MA getting absorbed into it, the MUN got absorbed into the MA, she witnessed the economic recovery and in her final term she even led a victorious war against a fascist Zardic regime. She left when the time was right. When Istalia and Majatra were finally at peace. A shaky peace, but peace nonetheless. The new President Maria Muller, former minister of Justice had this to say:
Juliana leaves shoes which will be impossible to fill. As minister of justice, I say that is humanly impossible to be a more righteous politician - this is as good as they come. But now that she is gone, it is our responsibility to maintain the peace in Istalia which was built with her immense effort. Of course, she is not the reason why we have peace and quick recovery, it was the Istalian people, but she definitely acted as a catalyst for it. Peace has come to Majatra, and we will not let anyone destroy it! Not Solentia and not Deltaria!

Now it is time for the National Democrats to turn a new page. Giannino De Felice, Minister of Interior, is the last "old" name in the PND leadership. The DJ turn public official is now doing this for 52 years too, he came in the same generation as Juliana, and he is not one to filter his words:
No I am not leaving yet, I was the minister of foreign affairs at one point and I must say that those fellows in Deltaria do need some old-school diplomacy, for more questions about what it is, ask the ministry of defence. It is sad that Juliana left, but she felt it was time. I still have fuel in the tank, so as minister of the interior, I still have some decoration work to do in our beautiful nation!

The election of the new PND leadership will come around within the next 3 years and the turnout is expected to be very large as since the implementation of the public recruitment system - implemented by founder Antonio Rosso - there has been lots of competition for every spot. The interim leader, as eldest leadership member, is the aforementioned Giannino de Felice.

However, as the PND tries to gather a coalition around itself comprising of old allies PdA, ULD and newcomers PP, the future does look bright for The Purple and Yellow.

Terrible massacre in the Romulan National Bank: 34 deaths, 100 injured. The police follows the anarchist track

Image

This morning Romula and Istalia were awaken by a terrible massacre. A bomb exploded in the hall of the Romulan National Bank, leaving 34 bodies under the ruins. The inspectors found some anarchical clues, like a small flyer signed by the secret group of the "Dreamers".

We act to awake the istalian populace. The National Bank is just our first victim, our first attack against the capitalist regime: our goal is to free the Istalian populace from the oppressions of the fascist state, a dispotic government hidden behind the word of Democracy. Istalia, Majatra and Terra are born without borders: the exploiters built them to put people against each other. Communists against fascists, 'democrats' against 'dictators': we are all on the same boat, every Terrarian is free and must live without orders. Istalians: wake up, rise for freedom!

The police already arrested some romulan activists.
During the day, the entire parlamentary political spectrum condemned the massacre, expressing condolences to the victims' families. Tomorrow President Muller will visit the injuried in the Romulan General Hospital.

IL RADICALE
Organo stampa ufficiale dell'Alleanza Radicale

Il Congresso dei Radicali ha eletto Alessandro Morandi come nuovo Portavoce Nazionale
Image
Alessandro Morandi

The Official Press of Radical Alliance

The Radical Congress elected Alessandro Morandi as the new National Spokesperson

ROMULA - The long extraordinary Radical Alliance's Congress convened by the National Committee to elect the new leadership ended after nearly three weeks. But alongside the election of the National Spokesperson, several other topics have been treated by the Congress which has seen over 5 thousand delegates from all over Istalia meet in the Capital.
The limit of a maximum of 15 years for the National Spokesperson has been officially introduced and therefore it has been established the right of the Congress, which by statute must meet every two years, to decide a series of recommendations that the leadership must respect.

But what party did you get out of this Congress? Well, the left wing has found itself strongly resized, with many local sections of the party that have been literally conquered by the nascent Marranan wing and that have seen the majority of delegates to support in mass, in fact, Alessandro Morandi, the leader of this new soul of the party who wants a welfare more streamlined, efficient and less paternalistic and that gives more space to the private sector, a state that is above all a promoter, collector of investments and that favors private investment.
Moreover, and perhaps in this period it is the theme that most has relied on the Radical delegates, the new National Spokesperson has not hidden his antipathies and his fears about communism and in general all totalitarian ideologies, and in this period of ignited political clashes and massacres perpetuated by terrorist groups of the far-left, Morandi has managed to earn the sympathy of all those frightened by the red menace.

Precisely regarding the red menace, in the aftermath of the Romulan National Bank's massacre, Morandi expressed himself during his speech before the Congress, during which he also took advantage of responding to the criticisms launched to Istalia by the Selucian Republicans.

First of all I want to express my sincerest condolences to the families of the victims of this massacre, a massacre perpetuated by criminal assassins that have nothing to do with politics. Unfortunately we know that members of the dissolved Communist Party have been referred to as collaborators of many of these terrorist groups and this is unacceptable! For this reason, as National Spokesperson for the Radicals, I see myself compelled to declare that this party will from now on veto any form of cooperation with political movements of the far-left that do not ensure their loyalty to the institutions of the Republic and the democratic values that they represent.
And to these criminals who attack the Republic and its citizens, who accuse the political class of creating "imaginary enemies" to divide the people, I can only answer that here I see just as enemy, a true, real and concrete enemy, these criminal murderers ready to make rain death and destruction on the country! They are the real enemies and only united and loyal to the Republic and Democracy we can defeat them.
In these time, alas, we see Democracy attacked and threatened on all fronts! We are victims of a relativism that results in parochialism, we are faced with the denial of ideas, principles and values handed down for centuries and that today are labeled as "éliteism". And I did not use this term by chance: I was personally very upset and sorry to see representatives of the Selucian people questioning something that has long been in Selucia almost a paradigm, namely the representative Democracy of which Selucia for more than 300 years it has become an example next to Istalia.
The Prince of the Senate of Selucia should reflect well on the difference between utopias and the great compromise that is reality! A world of owners, investors and freelancers... it would be nice, maybe in the future when we could have available armies of androids we will see such a realized utopia, but for now the world is made up of entrepreneurs, workers, freelancers, laborers, technicians, managers, doctors, peasants, as well as unemployed and poors.
All these categories have the same rights and same duties but at the same time each of them has his own interests and ambitions to which he wants to give voice! A democracy can not but allow all these voices to express themselves, but at the same time it can not guarantee the satisfaction of every request.
Our contemporary democracies unfortunately can not but be a great compromise, which often satisfies a few and dissatisfied many, but such a democracy must also be enriched with protection for one and the other.
On one thing I can agree with the leader of the largest Selucian party: a democracy is likely to become an oligarchy, but for this reason modern democracy, to be called such, not only must be liberal but also social, a Social Liberal Democracy! Once upon a time, Istalia clashed with the Confederation of New Endralon and Kizenia, which refused to include social protection in a new charter of human rights that we were trying to draft. Personally I am more than open to talk about this with the Selucian Republicans, but certainly I can not remain silent in front of those who say that Istalia is not a democracy! In front of a country where in millions they struggle, and have the right to do it, obviously through legal means, just to guarantee those social protections that prevent the creation of oligarchies.
But before concluding, I would like to express to the Republicans of Selucia this thought, that is: éliteism is not some degenerate form of political, social or cultural thought, éliteism is a strict law within any human organization.
No matter what kind of human gathering we are facing, but in the end the power, even if initially distributed perfectly in equal parts, inevitably ends up being held by a small circle of people who are part of that human gathering and the same, within economic, we can say of wealth. Hoping to build a social, economic or political system that prevents this is simply unrealizable! Or rather, a totalitarian system that imposes its principle could prevent this phenomenon, but on paper, because we know very well how the single-party socialist regimes are the ones most characterized by the phenomenon of élitism and indeed, among the same communists this concept is well known speaking of a central party as the vanguard of the proletariat. Therefore, this does not necessarily have to be seen as something negative but rather as structural in any human society!
What we can concretely and realistically do is find a compromise that satisfies the rights of individuals in the interest of the community, which protects those who do not have enough resources to protect themselves, but that at the same time do not condemn to the persecution who instead have more possibilities and resources, that goes to limit the social gap for the members of the society making it equal duties and rights for all! But certainly we can not divide the world simply between slaves and tormentors! Between good and bad! Between workers and employers!
So I can only reject the accusations launched against us that want our workers reduced to "slaves"! Slaves! This comparison was unfortunately the most serious and also the most ridiculous by the Selucian Republicans.
If they think that in Istalia there is nobody ready to make hear the voice of all these "slaves", well, they are wrong! The Radical Alliance and the Popular Front in the years have achieved great achievements in the social sphere and has always fought to defend the rights of the Istalian workers, and I can assure you that we will continue to do so!

President Maria Muller visited the injured at the Romulan General Hospital
The President used this opportunity to adress Selucian criticisms

After the horrible terrorist attack in the Romulan National Bank by Anarchists, Maria Muller visited the injured in the hospital an sent out condolences to the friends and families of the victims:
What I have seen today in the Romulan Hospital is an undescribable act not of freedom, which the attackers claim, but of sheer villainy. There is no other word to describe it other than pure evil. We shall fight this evil and the police is already working hard to find these traitors of Istalia. I am sending out my condolences to all the families and friends of the victims who may have lost a husband, wife, mother, father, brother, sister or simply good friends during the catastrophe.

After being asked by the media about Selucian criticisms of Istalian democracy, the President responded as follows, in typical nationalist style:
They do not know what they are talking about. They are using grande words such as elites but they are just that: words. They do not present a viable alternative to our form of government. Many forms of Government have been tried, and will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No one pretends that democracy is perfect or all-wise. Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst form of Government except for all those other forms that have been tried from time to time.

Moreover, I as a National Democrat am proud of what we have here in Istalia. Through the centuries the democratic forces in this country, including our own, have built a society in which the people are as close to directly governing themselves as possible. We are their representatives - if they don't like us, they change us. The media can ruin us and big decisions like Istalexit we leave entirely to the people. They decide, we execute - even though sometimes it is easier said than done because there are as many opinions as there are people. The parties are just an approximation of said opinions.

Finally, I would like to say that the economic system that we live in, namely capitalism - or again an approximation of it - has allowed for more prosperity of the PEOPLE, not only elites, than any other and the question lies in the balance of it. If you ask the Liberal Democrats, they would argue for more of it, if you ask the Popular Front, they would prefer less. And selling labour is NOT slavery. That is a horror story which only the delusional communists believe.

Thank you!

ULTIM'ORA: Attentato Terroristico contro Alessandro Morandi!

BREAKING NEWS: Terrorist attack against Alessandro Morandi!
Far-leftist terrorist group attacked the Radical Leader who was hit by several gunshots as he returned home and only the rapid intervention of a police car saved him in time

ROMULA - Moments of real fear among the ranks of the Radical Alliance when yesterday night at 11.30 pm came the news of a terrorist attack against the newly elected leader of the Radicals Alessandro Morandi.
Fortunately, Morandi was rescued in time and is now in intensive care at Romula's Deodato II Polyclinic in recovery after the surgery he was subjected to during the night.
The doctors reported that 4 bullets reached Morandi by hitting him twice in the belly and reaching the left thigh and hand while the investigators of the State Police declared that they are 9 mm caliber bullets, probably produced in Beiteynu and that suggest they are were fired by an Uzal 470, a machine gun still of Beiteynese manufacture and widespread among rebel and terrorist groups around the world since the break-up of the Beiteynese Defense Forces in the aftermath of the fall of the Ieudi Democratic Party regime several decades ago.
And it was precisely from a terrorist group that the claim was made already in the early hours of the morning, the "Anarchist Front of the Combatant Proletarians" (FAPC) and that justified its gesture saying:

The wolf masquerading as a sheep that is Morandi was only the first of all those among oppressors and collaborators, who will pay for the abuses and exploitation of the proletariat and for the construction of this golden prison which is the farce of capitalist liberty that make slaves the proletarian masses distracted by consumerism and the illusion of democratic choice.
Alessandro Morandi has been found guilty of treason and leader of a party that behind the slogans in defense of the workers has done nothing but favor the big capital and has collaborated for the maintenance of the capitalist order.
Precisely because it is falsely close to the workers, traitor to the exploited that we fight to free, and a compliant collaborator of the fascists who try to crush freedom in exchange for security, Morandi has been reached by the implacable justice of the Proletariat, which will still hit the heart of this oppresive regime!

The investigators are trying to figure out if the FAPC can be the same anarchist group known as the "Dreamers" who claimed responsibility for the attack on the Romulan National Bank or if there are any links between the two groups. What is certain is that the left armed organizations in Istalia are increasing in number, in members and in terms of resources.
On the left emerge criticism of the Government and in general the society and national policies that generate a strong social hardship that pushes many to radicalize and to join similar terrorist movements, but many dismiss this hypothesis: in the field of social rights as well as of the politic ones, Istalia can not be said to be restrictive or furthermore it strongly protects workers and employees in general. Obviously these answers are rejected as justifications based on illusory social measures that actually exist to keep workers calm and give them the illusion of having rights and protections. Others say that the problem is those who are benefiting from the economic recovery that would not affect at all the weakest social groups, while others, actually a small percentage, say that in reality behind these terrorist movements there are forces that from outside Istalia work in the shadows to weaken the country and destroy it from within.

What is certain, however, is that the attack has given voice to those who ask for their own greater security and who want to introduce measures that the Radical Alliance has presented in Parliament to address the terrorist threat. Among these, the supply of firearms for all police officers: the two policemen intervened with their car to save Morandi, in fact, could just stand between him and the terrorists, remaining crouched in the car, unable to respond to the fire being equipped only with non-lethal weapons, thus risking being riddled without the possibility of defending themselves.
Precisely because this attack comes shortly after the presentation of the controversial anti-terrorist law presented by the Radicals, some, finally, have advanced the hypothesis of the "false flag", or that the attack was actually a farse to terrorize the country and give more support to the proposals of the Radical alliance.

The situation therefore heats up in Istalia and there are many who fear that this atmosphere of lead will be prolonged for some time threatening other attacks and other deaths.

ULD PRESIDENT VEGA: WE MUST UNITE AGAINST THE MARGIN
THE ULD PRESIDENT CALLS FOR UNITY WITH THE LEFT AGAINST THE INTERNAL THREAT OF TERRORISM

Image
President Vega wants to work with all parties to counter the terrorist treaat within Istalia- without curbing anyone's rights, as he says.

In a recent statement, Antonio Vega invited other Istalian parties to cooperate with the Liberal Democrats in combatting, what he called, "the flailing of a small group of people, a margin that we must unite against". By that, he meant the looming threat of terrorism; be it conducted by far-right or far-left groups.

This is the entire statement made by the politician:

We are a party of the centre, or of centrist positions; obviously, the definition of centrism differs in various groups, some see it as some sort of moderate position, a balance between the left and the right, which is somewhat accurate. Centrism is the perfect combination of what is good in the left, and what is good in the right; the love of freedom, be it in the social or economic life of our citizens. There, obviously, are some people that put that to an extreme, which is intolerable. There are people like that everywhere, however. They are a margin. All the chaos that is going on is the flailing of a small group of people, a margin that we must unite against, no matter if we are on the same part of the political spectrum as those radicals. The most important value that we have is freedom, and everything else, solidarity, patriotism, tolerance and individualism stem from that value. I am afraid that those extremists don't agree with that, and they believe that freedom should be limited; even the anarchists. They don't see that forcing their ideology down the peoples' throats isn't a sign of liberty. To some extent, we even agree with them; borders should be reduced to the bare minimum, for, first of all, we are humans. But we cannot use undemocratic measures to reach that state of things; democracy, as many before me have stated, is a terrible system, but it is the best system that humans will ever come up with. It is the only way that we can reach a true consensus, one that we, as people and citizens of a country agreed to respect, and such a consensus means that the beliefs of most citizens will be respected. We can counter terrorism, however, we can also do so whilst not limiting the freedom of the people. We cannot efficiently calm the people down or reduce tensions by giving the people a reason to fear something else; the government taking their freedom away. I invite every Istalian party to cooperate with us to stop these radicals in a way that won't limit the freedom of the people in any way. I also wish to voice my anger which comes from the attack on a politician in a democratic country, I am obviously speaking about the case of Alessandro Morandi, and the, sorry for my harsh words, fucktards that have attacked him.
Thank you,
Antonio Vega,
President o the Union of Liberal Democrats
