THE PCI JOINS THE REPULICANS!
Vito Barbo, Chairman of the PCI, has declared that the Communist Party will not waste any efforts on establishing a truly popular regime in Istalia as soon as possible
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The Communist Party of Istalia has responded to the Left Bloc regarding several issues brought upon the Socialist government, like federalization and more. However, Vito Barbo, Chairman of the PCI, has put emphasis on another important request: the abolition of the Monarchy and the establishment of an Istalian Republic.

It is no secret that the Communist Party of Istalia, established only a couple of years ago, has come to the political stage to break away with old traditions and bourgeois power and instead conquer Power (as the Party puts it) for the Istalian working class. This has obviously come with the radical proposition to abolish the Monarchy and its system and instead replace it with the Republic, but many ask why the Socialist government hasn't gotten rid of it. Today, Vito Barbo answers them:

It has come to my attention that the Left Bloc and the Socialist and Democrats are slowly turning away from each other as the major question is still unanswered: what will happen with the Monarchy? I am afraid that the Socialist Party won't give us the answer we, the Left, want. The Socialists and Democrats, I'm afraid, will probably ignore this question as a way to maintain "national unity", which only benefits the plundering Right Wing of Istalia.

These harsh words are sure to split the left even more so than before and it is safe to say the PCI has decidedly broken relations with the Socialists until the Monarchy Question is answered. However, Vito Barbo continued his speech and decided to turn to the Left Bloc instead:

The Left Bloc and The Communist Party of Istalia share one important issue: we are slowly noticing the betrayal of the Socialists to the Left and their deviation to the right. That is why, I request both of parties to unite for the next elections to create a truly Socialist government and establish a Popular Republic, not a Bourgeois Republic.

With these words, the PCI has entrenched their position as staunch Republicans and demanded an explanation from the Socialists, who, they believe, are abandoning the working class of Istalia and, instead, decided to side with the Left Bloc. How will the other parties react to this? Only time will tell.

PRIME MINISTER RESPONDS TO THE ISSUE RISED ABOUT THE MONARCHY REJECTING THE PROPOSALS

The Prime Minister Rania Mossadeq today in front of the press responded both to the junior partner of the socialists & Democrats and the recently founded Communist Party on the issue abiut the monarchy that the other two leftist forces of Istalia recently debated.

The Prime Minister very pragmatically responded with a long digression focused on why her party is not willing to abolish the monarchy by emphasizing the emphasized role of parliament and expressing concerns about people elected in the role of the state's ultimate "apolitical" arbiter expressing the firm loyality of the party to parliamentary forms of government. The Prime Minister also cited data taken from some political studies conducted on the forms of government and the roles of head of state. Rania Mossadeq has also amply emphasized how Istalia, despite its form of government, is a country that has fully embraced the principles of socialists and democrats, praising its party and the work done in the past.

To respond to the recent statements by our junior party and to the criticism by the recently founded Communist Party, I believe that all this diatriba about the monarchy is just a sterile and populistic debate to collect easily further votes.
Our nation and the governments that in the last decades ruled the country was able to pursue their objectives and goals without any sort of problem from the Crown and indeed in the past we have seen the Crown acting in the most respectous way of its role, duties and rights.
Actually we don't feel the need of a such huge internal reform because there are no social nor political nor economical justifications for such a move and we don't feel our democracy undermined by our monarchy as well as we don't believe that the social and economic conquests that our citizens today are experiencing thanks to the long lasting governments led by the Socialists & Democrats are undermined by our Form of Government. Instead I think that Istalia currently is one of the most socialist nations of Terra, a nation that recognizes its citizens the right to a dignified existence protected from poverty and disease, exploitation and instability and where the society of the workers the technicians and the entrepreneurswork in harmony respecting democratic principles and the dignity of man as worker, thinker, producer and obviously citizen.
The monarch, simply, does not influence the politics of the state and for this reason our governments were able to do what they did while our society and our institution and where the will of people expressed by the parliament as been indeed enhanced. Abolishing monarchy would instead imply a President or otherwise an elected head of state with some amount of political power which can be a potential threat to the centrality of the Parliament which is the ultimate and supreme expression of the will of the people and the adeguate forum where the forces of the country meet and in case find the best solutions and compromises to rule the country, opposite to elective monocratic figures which can put personal interests before the one of the nation, an elective role which actually will never be able to act truly indipendently as a monarch does because such a figure or the political forces supporting him will be always concerned by the issue to maintain the power and thus more worried by gaining popular confidence, visibility andpolitical appeal to be realected and a political figure with no one above him to check his power which would really large if granted by the people in a political way that make rise within the Socialists & Democrats ever more concerns then a apolitical, cerimonial and institutional role acting as last arbiter not influenced by personal, political, party business interests but ruled only by his duties and rights. Having an apolitical head of state makes it easy to avoid all the baggage that political allegiances and grievances bring.
And it also makes it easy for the monarch and their family to represent Istalia.
There are extensive political studies that show how monarchs can truly be above politics. They have no party connections and have not been involved in daily politics before assuming the post of the head of state. Even figurehead presidents have some degree of democratic legitimacyy and are typically former politicians. That enables a greater rate of shenanigans. it was found that presidents whether elected indirectly by parliament or directly by the people are likelier to allow governments to change without new elections than monarchs are. In other words they're likelier to change the government without any democratic input at all.
Moreover monarchy can defend a country from extreme harmfull populistic degenerations and can prevent the installation of a sole supreme political authority embodied in a single person even if with a almost totally controlled parliament. We believe that republics can be more easily subjected to the degeneration of their democracies in authoritarian personal regime while our system assures the existence of several counterbalance powers which we consider as beneficial for our democracy.
We believe also in the prestige and the role of our monarchy has within our society, a society that looks up to a single figure who will properly represent the historiical goals and advance the interests of the whole Istalian society, not the particularly interests of this or that political side or party and the Imperial family detains such role being the only ones who are above class politics which is constitutionally tied on the respect of well specified duties and rights and that S&D prefers to any sort of political biased and easily changing figure which never will be able to act as true indipendent political arbitrer and guarantor of the institutions and the constitution.
We can understand from where the criticism against us rise, namely by the fact that social inequality implied by the existence of a monarchy does seem contradictory to the egalitarian ideals we associate with socialism. But strictly defined, however, socialism refers to the ownership of property, not to the actual control of property and consequently, there can be unequal use or administration of property. But actually as Socialists & Democrats we devoted ourself also on the respecting and pursue of the democratic principle embodied in the form of a representative democracy as best compromises between the socialist goals and the respect of the principles of individual freedom.
For all this reason we don't want to abroutly shake the country with such a useless reform.

Future government coalition in danger
The Youth Bloc joins regional leaders in critizising Socialists’ attitude towards their party

Image
The Secretary of the Youth Blocco, Bemir al-Taud

The continuation of the current coalition government between the Socialists and the Left Bloc in case of winning the next elections seems to be in danger at times. Just two months before the citizens of Istalia come to vote, the youths of the left-wing party, the Youth Bloc, have joined the manifesto signed by the regional leaders and sent to the national federation published a few weeks ago, but they have gone further: they have asked that, if their requests are not heard, they will knock down the Istalian government.

The secretary general of the youths, Bemir al-Taud, has asked the Secretary General of the party, Pietro Reggio, to adopt a firmer stance on what he considers "a constant none of the Socialists towards our party"

In this last term, our party has supported the majority, if not all, of the proposals presented by the Socialists, while they have knocked down all the proposals presented by our party in the National Assembly. Are we really government partners? Because it does not seem so. When the Socialists are forced to take real left-wing measures, they recourse and join their votes together with the conservative votes to prevent citizens' lives from improving. But the drop that has filled the glass is that now they defend the monarchy, a totally anachronistic institution to the times that run With arguments that can be easily denied. In the first place, because no monarchy is apolitical. Every human being has his ideology, and monarchs are not gods. They themselves have their own ideology, another thing is to show it in public. In any case, any person elected as Head of State must maintain neutrality, and that can be demanded from both a monarch and a president of the republic, through laws that limit his actions. We still don't understand this fear that the people decide. Since we are, why don't we let the Most High Excellency be the person who decides who the National Assembly should be constituted for? Isn't he so apolitical?

These harsh words towards the figure of the monarch have not sat well in some conservative sectors of society, but no member of the Left Bloc has come out to counteract them.

In his speech, Mr. al-Taud has also thanked the communist party for his support, and said he hopes "to work together to achieve a true republican nation"

Mr. al-Taud has concluded his intervention by asking the national leadership that, if the current government coalition can continue to be maintained after the next election, the Left Bloc will tighten its position and cease to be denied by the Socialists, or otherwise , go to opposition.

At the moment the national leadership has not responded, but sources close to Mr. Reggio confirm that the secretary general is extremely upset by the attitude of the Socialists during this last term, so the future government of Istalia is totally uncertain.

RANIA MOSSADEQ FURIOUS FOR THE RECENT STATEMENTS MADE BY THE LEFT BLOC

The Prime Minister Rania Mossadeq has responded very harshly to the recent statements made by the Left Bloc and its leadership criticizing the Socialists & Democrats for their opposition to pursue the demands by part of the Left Bloc about the monarchy but furthermore the Prime Minister showed to be really upset by the allegations by part of the goernment junior party about the behavior by the Socialists & Democrats accused to do what ever it want disregarding its partners:

What means that we did whatever we wanted in parliament? What is this crying by part of Mr Reggio because we didn't supported their measures?
At the beginning of this term I personally went to Mr Reggio with a list of proposals to submit to him and his party demanding to do the same so to find the best agreement. We asked what reforms the Left Bloc would be ready to support and we proceeded to present Govenrment Decree on which we received the support of the Left Bloc. My party well explained its desires and when we received a response by part of the Left Bloc we concretized the Decree on which we had an agreement while we didn't proceed with other proposals like the state monopoly on the prostitution: we respected the negative response by part of Mr Reggio and didn't proceed.
But... they did this? I don't remember to have read an exaustive list of proposals by the Left Bloc but we simply saw the Left Bloc continue to criticize us because we didnt support their party bill with several reforms about which we already said to be not ready to support. The last three proposals by the Left Bloc are centered in further devolution like the one of the firefighting service about which we cannot be more against or a group of reforms to deregulize matters which protect and legitimize foundamental rights of our citizens. Not to talk about their intention to deregularize the inheritance law which is I think a cornerstone measure to promote redistribution and to fight excessive and harmfull concentration of wealth.
The Left Bloc seems to be on the way to criticize Socialists & Democrats foundamental believes and our ideology, our own existence and our own political gaols. What should we do? Merge with them? Turn the back to those who supported us? Put iside our instances to support just the ones by Left Bloc?
We reject the allegations by the Left Bloc to which I can only respond that indeed under our two governments our state furthere progressed on the path of a society assuring a dignitous life and fairer opportunities to our citizenswho we protected from capitalistic degerations, from exploitaions, from alienations, from subjugations to the ambitions of private egoistic interests.
We looked for the cooperation with the Left Bloc because we knew that together we would be able to achieve many goals for the well baing of the people and to continue to pursue the great reforms that since 30 years are shaping Istalia by its people, with its people and for its people.
We don't want bar future cooperation and indeed we are ready to further dialogue with the Left Bloc but to respect my party and those who support them I cannot put aside the foundamental beliefes of my party.

THE PCI PUSHES FORWARDS
The Communist Party of Istalia succeeded in gaining enough votes to become a full-party in the Istalian Congress with just udner 7.7% of the total votes. Party members seem happy with the results.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Legislative elections are over, and the PCI has managed to obtain just under 7.7% of the votes, gaining 55 seats in the National Assembly of the Empire. Although far from the 20% sought after by Vito Barbo, party members are happy with the results anyway and have, with the help from the Communist Youth (the youth wing of the PCI), organized a small parade through Romula as a celebration, while also declaring that this rally is Anti-Establishment, entrenching their position against the Socialists and Democrats even further.

The protest was attended by only 1.6K citizens, Communist Party militants and Communist Youth militants at first, but the peaceful and cheerful spirit of the parade brought into the protest another 3.K more. Vito Barbo, Chairman of the PCI, made a statement:

The Communist Party of Istalia is finally a full-party in the Istalian assembly! We thank you all for your support, your votes and your trust in us, and soon the PCI will bring back the Republic for all Istalians!

As seen today, it is clear that the Anti-Monarchist sentiment in Istalia is growing, and it appears that a Republic is no longer an idealistic dream, but a possible reality.

Cesare Domizi incouraged by the results: "the liberal forces of Istalia are finally emerging!"
The ANI's Leader commented also the results of the other parties related to the recent anti-monarchy diatriba: "About the monarchy I think that the issue is over!"
Image
Some pro-monarchy supporters holding images of the Emperor, other members of the Imperial Family and of the Empire

8 September 4614

ROMULA - There were quite excitement in Viale delle Vittorie, headquarter of the National Alliance for the Empire, for the results of the recent elections: both the ANI and the National Conservative Party increased their votes and the seats controlled into the National Assembly while the government's forces have been punished by the pools loosing a lot of seats and the new comers of the Communist Party placed them only fifth.

Despite the left and the previous government maintained the majority, Cesare Domizi plauded the results and commented in this way:

The Istalians have punished the previous government! The Istalians have seen how unsound this alliance has been and have seen how they are more worried about exchanging resentments rather than governing.

But these elections have also shown us how the Istalians are beginning to no longer tollerate the drift to the left of the country, suffocated by the state and whose entrepreneurial and productive vitality has been totally debased.

To the Conservative colleagues I would like to say that we look at this result encouraged because the work done in parliament by both our parties is bearing fruit. I say to continue like this, to continue to show the country that we are ready to continue working and to fight for a freer Istalia, a more dynamic Istalia that holds out a hand and trusts the entrepreneurial abilities of its citizens.

Also because if a new government of the left will be born, I already foresee that it will be another government characterized by quarrels, tensions and resentments filling the newspaper, which will inevitably influence the effectiveness of that executive. We'll see if we will have to laugh or cry.

The leader of the National Assembly responded also to the press' question about the results of the anti-monarchical parties:

There are few words to say: about the monarchy I think that the issue is over! I think Istalians responded to the boring issue rised by the Left Bloc and the Communists. Despite the triumphalistic declarations by part of some anti-monarchical exponens, the huge votes hemoragy experienced by the Left Bloc and the poor results by the Communist Party rather than showing that the "Anti-Monarchist sentiment in Istalia is growing" it shows instead that their useless crusade is not welcomed in Istalia and the people clearly rejected their anti-monarchist proposals.
The political forces clearly showed their position voting to the failed proposals "Toward the Republic" by the Left Bloc and the Istalians I think that during these elections,
which saw also an increased turnout compared to previous elections, wanted show their closeness, their appreciations and their loyality to the Emperor and the Empire too.

Long live the Empire, Long live Istalia!

The Left Bloc opens a period of reflection after the elections
The progressive government of Istalia does not appear to be in danger, but there must be assignments on both sides so that Mrs. Mossadeq's second term can begin.

Image
Pietro Reggio during one of his visits to a children hospital

Finally, the Secretary General of the Left Bloc has broken his silence. He has done so after knowing the result of the last general elections, where the leftist party has fallen to the fourth position and has lost more than half a million votes, which has also resulted in the loss of more than 80 seats. Mr. Reggio, who has been Minister of Education and Culture during stage 4606-4610 and Minister of Science and Technology since then, during the successive governments of the Socialists, has finally addressed a few words to his party, after all the controversy raised by the Youth Blocco and the regional leaders in relation to the current coalition government with the Socialists and their lack of support.

While Mr. Reggio has acknowledged that the lack of support from the Socialists has been a key point to justify the loss of votes towards his party, he has also scolded members of the regional executives for showing the public "a divided party , who cares more for puritanisms than for bringing true social justice to all citizens. "

The atmosphere of the election night at the national headquarters of the party was tense. The Left Bloc aspired to a socialist sorpasso, but as the results were known, the atmosphere became more and more bleak. The first results to be known, in Silicia, returned to give a majority to the left, as in Padagna and Trivendito. However, both in Mezzodiurno and Sarregna, the right took power, leaving in both cases the Conservative National Party ahead of the Alleanza Nazionale per l'Impero. The biggest blow to the Left Bloc, however, came from the loss of the Padagnan government, where Minerva Totti has not only lost the position of governor in favor of the Socialists, but also that the regional federation has been in last position, obtaining only 10% of the votes, and at the moment it is the only regional government that is unknown if the Left Bloc is going to support the Socialists. The only good news of these elections came from obtaining the government of Trivendito, where Ovidio Cottrone has won more than 30% of the votes and will be the 4th governor of the region since the establishment of the Empire.

Despite the pessimistic atmosphere that was established at the headquarters of the party after knowing all the results, Mr. Reggio went to the balcony to deliver his speech.

"First of all, thanks to all the citizens who have voted for us. It is not the result that we would have liked to obtain, that is clear, and that is why now a period of reflection opens in which we will have to evaluate what has failed and how to solve it. Of course, we have an idea, but we will have to see to what extent each one is responsible for this. Without a doubt, one of the great reasons that has penalized us has been to publicly air the conflicts that our party should have reserved for private meetings because if not, what image are we transmitting to citizens, except for the distrust between us and lack of communication? This cannot be done in this way, and we must all do our part to prevent it from recurring again. However, I cannot hide the disappointment that I personally have taken during this term before the lack of support from the Socialists, who have not used more than our votes to carry out their pro placed in the National Assembly but when the time came to vote on our proposals, they joined their votes together with those on the right to reject them. Things are not done that way, and if there is a coalition government, there must be trust among its members. A few minutes ago I telephoned Mrs. Mossadeq to congratulate her on the electoral results her party has obtained, and we have agreed that the next legislature must be a consensus legislature in which the left has to show itself, despite the differences of two parties with different ideology, united against those who only want to push back our great nation. "

The bloker has also had words for the leader of the ANI, Mr. Cesare Domizi, who after the election result congratulated himself on the result of the right and the sinking of the Left Bloc, citing as one of the reasons "the defense of the back to a republican system. "

"I also want to take the opportunity to send a message to Mr. Domizi: I do not understand the reasons for his happiness: the right continues to lose the elections, again and again, and has not governed for decades in Istalia. It is thanks to that that citizens can live with dignity, and they show it again and again when they have to go to vote. So, instead of congratulating himself on the bad results of other parties, which shows very little political class, he should do like us and stop to evaluate what is which has led to his once-almighty party not winning elections, not even regional, for several times.

In relation to the issue of republicanism, Mr. Reggio has remained firm: he has affirmed that no matter how hard they try, they will not give up the republican principles on which the Left Bloc was founded, and has also thanked for this purpose the support of the recently founded Communist Party.

Governor of Trivendito sparks first controversy
Mr. Cottrone aims to take the same measure as Mrs. Totti did in Padagna regarding the Emperor's portraits.

Image
The recently elected new Governor of Trivendito, Ovidio Cottrone, during his inaugural speech in the region

The new Governor of Trivendito, Ovidio Cottrone, has announced that he will follow in the footsteps of Minerva Totti during her term as governor of Padagna and will withdraw all representations of the Emperor's figure from all public buildings belonging to the regional government. The new governor has refused to make any statement about it.

ISTALIANS ON THE MOON!
Image

Today 27 April 4615 it's a day which will remain into history: the men of the Pegaso 5 mission put their feet on the moon. Colonel Valerio Auriemma, Colonel Stefania Filippetti, Lieutenant Colonel Luisa Manca landed on the moon at 12:17 a.m. Romula's hour. With this successful mission Istalia enters the club of the nations which led manned mission to our satellite.
Pegaso 5 mission departed 21th April from Carlo Manerba AISA Space carried by the ATLANTE SC launcher which stages made reach to the spacecraft the lunar transfert orbit and after three days finally the crew was ready to land on the moon. Lieutenant Colonel Francesco Pittarelli remained on the Pegaso module while the other three crew members took place on the Luna lander to reach the surface.
The three astronauts will remain on the surface for 4 days and then they will rejoin their colleagues on the Pegaso whit whom they will come back home. During the mission will be collected several lunar rocks and thiner samples. Two laser mirror will be placed on the site allowing lasers to be focused on so to determine the perfect distance. Other scientific tests will be conducted. From the orbit the tools on board the Pegaso will collect info on the surface during several orbits.
Prime Minister Rania Mossadeq for the events wanted to reach the space control center from where she released an interview after the moon landing:

What a great achievement for Istalia and for the world! The only thing that make me sorrow it's that the father of this dream became reality is not here to see it. Paolo Tarso would be extremely proud of what our nation achieved! After great efforts thousands and thousands of people made possible all this today. All Istalia can only prise and plaude the devotion and the contribution of so many people. This program involved not only the AISA of course but most part of the productive sector of Istalia with contributions from most part of the most advanced technological firms too. Our nation with determination and willfulness made something that many though impossible few years ago. And for those who ask why we did it and we are doing all this I say that because we could did it and we demonstrated it! But, I can also say that the technological and economical impact will be huge with entire new sector which will rise and I can assure you that until I will be at the helm of the country the state will always support growth and prosperity for everyone.

Great satisfation for the whole AISA too altough not all the programmed achievements have been reached within the sheduled time: actually the AISA focused on the moon missions while no one of the modules of the Frontiera space station has been still put in orbit. The AISA explained it mentioning some retards by part of the contractors but also it admitted an underestimation of the challenges of the space program. The agency assures however that the program will be pursued altough it will take more time than expected.

His Majesty plaudes the successful mission on the moon
The Emperor welcomed the five astronauts in Quattroregni Palace where they have been rewarded for their contribution to such a great technological and scientific breakthrough which brought prestige to the whole country
Image
The astronauts parade along the streets of Romula

5 June 4615

ROMULA - Great celebrations on the streets of the capital when the cars carrying the heroes of the Pegaso 5 mission have crossed the city, being greeted by cheering crowds crowded on the sidewalks along the route. Istalian flags and AISA banners have adorned the cars and the path to Palazzo Quattroregni where the cars have been escorted by some Imperial Guards on motorcycles while the city police took care of public order.

The five astronauts were invited by the Emperor to Palazzo Quattroregni a few days after their return from the Moon for which a reception was organized in the Lapis Lazuli Hall, in which in addition to the astronauts there were most of the leadership of the AISA and of course the government leaders. Prime Minister Mossadeq was certainly the most enthusiastic among the participants and during his speech he emphasized the role of his party but above all the role that his predecessor, Paolo Tarso, had in reaching such a goal.

Alessandro I also did not spare words to congratulate on such a goal and showed to be really interested having spent many time with the astronauts talking about the mission and their experiences, coming them from the Air Force, Emperor's privileged Armed Force and the one he joined before to foundation of the Empire and his elevations to the Imperial status.

Image
The Emperor issued a long speech in the middle of the cerimony praising all those who made possible the Pegaso 5 mission. These are His Majesty's words:

Mr Director of the AISA, Prime Minister Mossadeq, General Selva, distinguished members of the Government and the National Assembly here gathered, Colonel Valerio Auriemma, Colonel Stefania Filippetti, Lieutenant Colonel Luisa Manca, Lieutenant Colonel Marco Siri and Lieutenant Colonel Paolo Amadori, your families and the dedicated men and women of the AISA: It is my great honor to be here with all of you today.

I feel particularly fortunate to have been able to attend such an event as your Emperor and it’s a great honor to be here to celebrate with all of you the great achievement which was the Moon Landing by part of the Pegaso 5 mission and its crew, a breakthrough which will be remembered forever.

I’ve been looking forward to this day, but let me first of all express my congratulations which I am sure would have come from another great space enthusiast and a great champion of Istaliani's efforts in space which unfortunately cannot be here today. Today I begin by honoring the memory of former Prime Minister Paolo Tarso, who died a few years ago without seeing his dream come true.

Today, our nation pays tribute to the five brave astronauts who sat on a rocket of over one hundred meters that took off from Earth to reach our satellite where three of them set foot after more than 80 years since the last human mission on Luna. Such achievement has definitely skyrocketed Istalia among the few Terra's nations capable of operating manned space missions outside the low terran orbit.
We also gather to pay tribute to the nearly 400,000 Istalians engineers, technicians, designers, workers and administrators whose sacrifices and dedication made it possible for Pegaso 5 to complete what was one of the most hazardous and dangerous and greatest adventure upon which Istalia and the whole mankind has ever embarked.

When Prime Minister Tarso challenged the nation more than a decade ago to put Istalians on the moon and return them safely to Terra, it’s important to remember that our country previously attempted such achievements but never it reached such a goal and actually we can say that we were not yet ready to meet that challenge. We didn’t have the needed rockets and even we didn't have an adeguate launch base, or the spacesuits for the moon or the lander, the module service and so on. But we did it because we choose to go to the moon, thanks to the tireless efforts by part of Paolo Tarso, the support gave to the program by his and following governments and the collective cooperation and efforts of the whole country.

We honor these men today, and Istalia will always honor our Pegaso astronauts. They are heroes all. We honor the men and the women of Pegaso 5 by remembering their epic voyage and telling their story. But we also shall honor them by continuing the work they so nobly and courageously advanced in Istalian space exploration. Thank you for your courageous service.

Today, we also reaffirm our commitment to “unlock the mysteries of space” and to lead. And as we continue on this Istalian journey, we go with the same resolve and determination of those who have gone before. And we go with faith.
Faith in the courage of this new generation of astronauts, men and women with the character and caliber to continue this great journey. They’re remarkable pioneers who will carry Istalian leadership into space.
Faith in the ingenuity of the men and women of AISA and all of those across Istalian space enterprises, whose creativity and tireless efforts in the days ahead will match that of their forebears who created and invented new ways to explore and expanded human understanding with Istalian leadership.

And finally today, we resolve, for the sake of all they accomplished, that Istalia will lead in space exploration and this nation, I'm sure, will astonish the world with the heights we'll reach and the wonders we'll achieve.

Thank you, thank you all for what you did for Istalia.

After the speech, His Majesty proceeded to reward the five astronauts with the degradee of Grand Officer of the Order of Alsemet the Great in recognition of their significant contributions to science and research which brought honour and greatness to Istalia and benefits to the whole humanity and also rewarded them, on suggestion of the Minister of Defence, with the Gold Medal of Military Valour of the Air Force for having performed acts of courage in particularly difficult circumstances and shown a singular skill by exposing their lives, during the flight, to exceptional danger.
His Majesty furthermore announced the creation of the Medal of the Pegaso as honor to be assigned to all those who participated and made possible the Pegaso 5 mission. It is estimated that almost 400 thousand badges will have to be produced and that will be delivered personally to those honored by officers of the Imperial Palace.

Pietro Reggio congratulates astronauts and praises "the spirit of unity and collaboration" for future missions
The Minister of Science also announces his desire to return to space and falls apart in praise for "all who have made this feat possible"

The Minister of Science and Technology Pietro Reggio attended the acts of receiving astronauts returning from the successful mission to land on the moon. The former astronaut and current secretary general of the Left Bloc has been among the first to receive the astronauts and congratulate them on their achievement, pointing them out as "national heroes"

"This is the kind of citizens we have to be proud of,"
he told the press after the reception, probably as a reference to his own republican spirit.
"We hope that, within a few years, there will be many more achievements that our nation reaches, both at the ground level and at the extraterrestrial level. Thanks to the joint efforts of the government, and despite the obstacles that some have tried to put, little to little our nation is advancing in the exploration of space, and that is an achievement that we should be proud of. My most sincere congratulations and my warmest welcome to these national heroes. This day is one that will remain in the memory of all citizens, and the name of those who have succeeded will be remembered for centuries."

The astronaut, who has attended the reception as Minister of Science held in the imperial palace and whose photo next to the Emperor has momentarily monopolized most of the cameras for the fierce republicanism that his party has defended, has not hidden his desire of returning to his old profession. Asked by journalists, he has confirmed that the following elections will be the last to which he appears as a candidate for Prime Minister, and that his intention is subsequently to reintegrate into the AISA and return to space travel, collaborating on future lunar missions .

"For me, it would be a dream come true to finally set foot on our satellite, and know that all this has been achieved in part thanks to a joint effort to which I have actively contributed. That is the most rewarding for me."

The Minister has also personally thanked all AISA workers for the joint task they have carried out, and has requested that this spirit of unity "be kept alive within all"

The Minister has also announced the realization, by his ministry, of a monument to this historic landmark that will be built with material from other spacecraft and that will be engraved throughout its outline the name of all those who, in a way another, have contributed to achieve this feat, which will be located at the entrance of the headquarters of the AISA
