Mr. Zanatta leads his liberal party to an half-victory in one region within a year from its launch
A new party almost won in one region: the Istalian Liberal Party (Partito Liberale Istaliano), founded one year ago at Turrino, in Padagna, held by the Secretary of the party, Corrado Zanatta (pictured above), didn't really surprised the opinions' polls of the last year, gaining only 5,98% of the votes overall, but nobody predicted the thrillering competition between the Istalian Liberal Party and the leftist Labour, Democracy, Ecology in the Sarregna region. Their gap was only by 9500 votes, and, at the end, the leftist party won.
What's behind this party, and why they had such a great support in Sarregna? In January 4077 the party held a congress where Corrado Zanatta and Beatrice Varriale launched officially the party. The first one were elected as Secretary, the leader of the party, while Ms. Varriale were elected as President of the party, a neutral position. Standing to the words of Mr. Zanatta, his objective is to support the
individual emancipation, and the liberalism is the only ideology that can actually pursue that ideals. The individual emancipation, said Mr. Zanatta, «can be promoted in two ways: economically, lighten the figure of the State in the market, such as public monopoly and any other obligation that prevent to the citizen to gain. Gain is a word treated badly, you know, and we want to assert the
right to gain for every citizen, so nobody will have to rely anymore on States' money. And the State shouldn't have to meddle with people's life and rights, they should be able to express themselves as they want.»
The party logoEnglish: During the last year, the party made some proposal to the Chamber of Deputies, all themed with economical freedom. However, three proposes of five passed, thanks to the party's diplomacy, reducing the Corporation Tax by 22% to 20%. «It wasn't expected at all», said Mr. Zanatta, «the majority was held by two leftist party, and we did a great job, especially with the discussion on lowering the Corporation Tax. We showed to the people who we are, how we work, and in what we believe.» In the election of January 4078, in which they compete for the first time in an election, the party supported an indipendent candidacy, Elisa Bonelli, to underline their indipendent position with other parties. Ms. Bonelli won only 6.58% of the votes overall, so she didn't pass the second round of the Presidential election, won by Giorgia Neloni (PPI), while the party won the 5,98%, as we said above, and 38 seats. They did a great result in Sarregna, gaining 31 seats only in that region, probably thanks to the high interest of the economy in that region, while other regions, such as Padagna, Trivendito and Mezzodiurno, rejected the party, struggling to get the 0,05%. Average result in Silicia, winning the 5.91%, in line with the national results. But now, in Istalia, nobody has anymore the majority, and Mr. Zanatta, according to an interview with a national television network, said that «The party run as an indipendent, but we're not in sale. We will evaluate the situation with my secretaryship, but it's clear that this hung parliament is a serious matter.» And he made a proposal addressed to the other parties: «We will make a public announcement of our proposals for the next 4 years soon, and I hope that the future government will do the same thing. Voting without knowing what will do the government sounds really silly to me.»
