Istalian ship carrying humanitarian aid to Vanuku

ROMULA - La Presidenza della Repubblica ha annunciato stamattina che una Squadra Aeronavale si è imbarcata carica di uomini, mezzi, medicine, tende, etc... alla volta di Vanuku per assistere l'alleato Istaliano nell'affrontare le migliaia e migliaia di rifugiati che da Barmenistan stanno attraversando il confine in fuga dal regime della Repubblica Sociale. Circa 5000 uomini dell'Esercito tra tecnici, medici, infermieri e truppe per garantire la sicurezza raggiungeranno in un paio di settimane le coste Vanukeane.

Il Capo dello Stato ha dichiarato che la preparazione e l'esperienza istaliana nell'affrontare crisi migratorie e di rifugiati deve essere messa a disposizione degli alleati per garantire tutto il sostegno possibile. Infatti, come dichiarato da Vanuku, l'assistenza degli uomini della Marina e dell'Esercito Istaliani saranno fondamentali dato che praticamente tutte le truppe di Wiel sono giustamente schierate per difendere il paese che si ritrova attualmente letteralmente circondata da nazioni con cui i rapporti sono davvero tesi se non deterriorati da tempo.

Alcune critiche sono state però sollevate ed una soprattutto ha costretto il Presidente a chiarificarsi di fronte ai giornalisti, ovvero: perché inviare uomini e truppe in Vanuku per affrontare una loro emergenza rifugiati quando l'Istalia già ne sta attraversando una? Il Presidente ha dunque risposto così ai giornalisti:

Stiamo affrontando anche qui un'emergenza rifugiati, è vero, ma non sta di certo tenendo occupate tutte le Forze Armate! La situazione di Wiel è diversa, le loro Forze sono giustamente impegnate nel garantire prima di tutto la sicurezza del Paese di fronte a minacce che praticamente arrivano da tutti i lati per Vanuku. La "crisi" che sta attraversando il Paese non è legata tanto alla gestione dei rifugiati Solentiani, ma si tratta di una problematica di accettazione legata a paure quasi ataviche di molti cittadini Istaliani preoccupati del fatto che i campi profughi ormai sono installati da anni e chiedono risposte su come il Paese integrerà questi rifugiati. Dunque la situazione è chiaramente differente e Vanuku ha bisogno di uomini ed attrezzature per organizzare campi profughi, per il riconoscimento e la classificazione dei migranti, assistenza medica, etc...

Infine, sulla situazione politica di Vanuku, il Presidente ha risposto così ai giornalisti:

Siamo sempre rimasti in contatto con le autorità di Wiel e siamo ben coscienti che il Paese sta attraversando un momento piuttosto delicato. Il Governo di Wiel sta procedendo a tappe per un ritorno alla normalità democratica per far fronte a pericoli che abbiamo visto come hanno già destabilizzato Vanuku, specialmente durante l'ultima Repubblica. Ogni Paese affronta situazioni tali che costringono le autorità ad adottare misure atipiche e delle volte drastiche, ma occorre anche considerare quando, come e da chi queste misure vengono adottate. Anche in Istalia abbiamo vissuto in passato intere legislature in Stato d'Emergenza che hanno limitato i diritti dei cittadini in funzione della sicurezza nazionale e delle Istituzioni. Non è di certo Vanuku che ha scatenato puro terrore contro i suoi cittadini!

Istalia sends logistics assistance to Vanuku to help managing thousands of refugees from Barmenistan
The Armed Forces will deploy men, tents, medicines and other equipment to assist the Government of Wiel in tackling the massive influx of refugees from Barmenistan

ROMULA - The Presidency of the Republic announced this morning that an Air-Naval Squadron has left Istalia with men, vehicles, medicines, tents, etc... to reach Vanuku to assist the Istalian ally in facing the thousands and thousands of refugees from Barmenistan they are crossing the border fleeing from the Social Republic regime. About 5,000 Army men including technicians, doctors, nurses and troops to ensure safety will reach the Vanukean shores within a couple of weeks.

The Head of State said that the Istalian preparation and experience in dealing with migratory and refugee crises must be made available to the allies to ensure all possible support. In fact, as stated by Vanuku, the assistance of the Istalian Navy and Army will be fundamental given that practically all the troops of Wiel are rightly deployed to defend the country that is presently literally surrounded by nations with which the relations are really theses if not compromised for some time.

Some criticisms were however raised and one above all forced the President to clarify in front of the journalists, that is: why send men and troops to Vanuku to face their refugee emergency when Istalia is already going through one? Thus, the President replied to journalists:

We are also facing a refugee emergency here, it is true, but it is certainly not keeping all the Armed Forces busy! The situation of Wiel is different, their forces are rightly committed to guarantee first of all the security of the country in the face of threats that virtually come from all sides to Vanuku. The "crisis" that is going through our country is not so much linked to the management of Solentian refugees, but it is a question of acceptance linked to fears almost atavistic of many Istalian citizens worried that the refugee camps are now installed by years and ask for answers on how the country will integrate these refugees. So the situation is clearly different and Vanuku needs men and equipment to organize refugee camps, for the recognition and classification of migrants, medical assistance, etc...

Finally, on the political situation in Vanuku, the President replied to journalists:

We have always been in touch with the authorities of Wiel and we are well aware that the country is going through a rather delicate moment. The Government of Wiel is proceeding in stages for a return to democratic normality to face the dangers we have seen as they have already destabilized Vanuku, especially during the last Republic. Each country faces situations that force the authorities to adopt atypical and sometimes drastic measures, but we must also consider when, how and by whom these measures are adopted. Even in Istalia we have lived in the past entire legislations in State of Emergency that have limited the rights of citizens for national security and that of the institutions. It is certainly not Vanuku that has sparked pure terror against its citizens!

Frattura in vista per la Coalizione di Governo?
Le riforme in materia di immigrazione portate avanti da NazionalDemocratici e Un'Istalia hanno scatenato l'ira dei Radicali, il Presidente Al-Maktum però sta spingendo per tenere insieme la coalizione

ROMULA - La crisi politica che sta attraversando il Paese sta mettendo a dura prova l'attuale coalizione di Governo e come alcuni analisti avevano predetto, l'avventurarsi nella più estesa riforma della politica migratoria dell'ultimo secolo sta facendo vacillare la stabilità dell'esecutivo.

A scatenare l'ira dell'Alleanza Radicale, che a più riprese ha già minacciato di lasciare il governo, è stato l'approvazione di due proposte di legge di riforma della materia immigratoria presentate da Un'Istalia in anticipo rispetto ai previsti Disegni di legge che avrebbe dovuto presentare il Governo sulla stessa materia, uno degli obbiettivi di questa Coalizione tra Nazionalisti e Moderati. I due partiti di destra, infatti. sono riusciti a far approvare le due proposte di legge approfittando della repentina dissoluzione di altri due partiti dopo quello del Partito Autoritario Conservatore, ovvero il Partito dell'Unità Popolare e soprattutto il longevo Partito del Socialismo Istaliano, caduti sotto la scure della continua guerra fredda contro i reggimi comunisti sorti in Majatra nell'ultimo mezzo secolo che hanno spinto l'opinione pubblica ad allontanarsi dalle posizioni di sinistra, costantemente in calo negli ultimi quindici anni.

I Radicali hanno protestato duramente durante tutte le fasi di voto ed ora, con il Ministro dell'Immigrazione che ha presentato un Disegno di legge di una proposta prevista dagli accordi della coalizione di governo, AR ha ufficialmente dichiarato per voce del deputato Bruno Policarmo che si rifiuterà di votare a favore del disegno di legge se gli alleati di governo non faranno un passo indietro su dei punti delle precedenti riforme sull'immigrazione o accettando un aggiustamento della recente riforma della Sanità che ne ha visto la privatizzazione.
La proposta, passata come Proposta di Legge, è ancora al vaglio del Governo per organizzarne l'implementazione, anche perché è stata una riforma molto ben accolta dalla popolazione, che tradizionalmente ha sempre approfittato in larga parte anche della sanità privata complementare, con alte percentuali di coloro che optavano esclusivamente per quest'ultima.

Il Presidente Al-Maktum, comunque, pienamente incarnando il suo ruolo di Capo dello Stata, è intervenuto convocando una riunione del suo partito per cercare di normalizzare la situazione e per convincere i colleghi Radicali più riottosi a mantenere la calma ed evitare di mandare all'aria gli sforzi che si stanno intraprendendo per far fronte alle sfide che sta attraversando il Paese.
Per il momento, invece, ancora non si è espresso il Presidente del Consiglio, Vittoria Bronzi, che da esponente di Un'Istalia, ignorando le lamentele dei Radicali, potrebbe essere accusata da quest'ultimi di sostenere le mosse del suo partito monopolizzando di fatto il Governo nel quale AR e PdA sono di fatto ridotti a spettatori impotenti.

Breach in sight for the Government Coalition?
The immigration reforms carried out by National Democrats and One Istalia have triggered the wrath of the Radicals, but President Al-Maktum is pushing to keep the coalition together

ROMULA - The political crisis that is going through the country is putting a strain on the current coalition government and as some analysts had predicted, the adventuring in the most extensive reform of the migration policy of the last century is shaking the stability of the executive.

To unleash the wrath of the Radical Alliance, which has already repeatedly threatened to leave the government, it has been the approval of two Proposal of Law to reform the immigration policies by One Istalia in advance of the envisaged laws which would have to be presented by the Government on the same subject, one of the objectives of this Coalition between Nationalists and Moderates. The two right-wing parties, in fact,they succeeded in getting the two bills approved by taking advantage of the sudden dissolution of two other parties after that of the Conservative Authoritarian Party, namely the Party of Popular Unity and above all the long-running Party of Istalian Socialism, fallen under the ax of the continuous cold war against the communist regimes that arose in Majatra in the last half century that have pushed public opinion to move away from the leftist positions, constantly declining in the last fifteen years.

The Radicals protested harshly during all the voting phases and now, with the Minister of Immigration who presented a bill for a proposal provided for by the coalition government, AR officially declared by the voice of the deputy Bruno Policarmo that it will refuse to vote in favor of the bill if the government allies do not step back on some points of the previous immigration reforms or accepting an adjustment to the recent health reform that saw its privatization.
The proposal, passed as Proposal of law, is still under consideration by the Government to organize its implementation, also because it was a reform very well received by the population, which traditionally has always largely benefited from complementary private health, with high percentages of those who opted exclusively for the latter.

However, President Al-Maktum, fully embodying his role as Head of the Stata, intervened calling a meeting of his party to try to normalize the situation and to convince the more riotous Radical colleagues to remain calm and avoid to blow up the efforts that are being undertaken to meet the challenges facing the country.
For the moment, however, the Prime Minister, Vittoria Bronzi, has not yet expressed himself and being an exponent of One Istalia, ignoring the complaints of the Radicals, she could be accused by the latter of supporting the moves of her party by monopolizing de facto the Government in which AR and PdA are effectively reduced to impotent spectators.

Interview with PND "Big Three"
The corriere had a sit down with the National Democratic Leader Verde, Vice-Leader Di Nero and Whip Nacchiavelli to discuss the future of the party in this age of uncertainty

This legislature was an earthquake for the Istalian political climate, shattering known alliances, positions hierarchies and ultimately also laws. The PND lost in sight of fresher rigt wing alternatives such as 1IST and the PAC - which however cracked and dissolved under the pressure of being the largest party. Then, the ULD lost its longest lasting ally in form of the Liberal Democrats, from which a lot of members including the prominent Perla Vespa-Baldassare made the jump to the National Democrats and have to be "integrated". Consequently, the PND is experiencing minor factionalism as the 2 established factions: the grass roots conservative majority and the opportunist minority now had to make Space for another faction: the Liberal faction coming from the Liberal Democrats and led by Perla. This faction, although smallest in the PND at the moment, has a lot of traction amongst hard line Rossoists of the party which are currently mostly in the conservative faction but always felt slightly out of place. Lets also not forget the "unaligned" Nachiavelli who plays a big role as well and whose radical leadership was only prevented by the other two factions working together against him. He might use this instability to claim the leadership once again. Most importantly however, new allies outside of the party need to be found too.

In this legislature, the left collapsed as well, leaving the AR and FD the only parties "left of center" but they too will have to adjust to the new political climate and after the surprising passage of two very unorthodox bills proposed by 1IST, which would previously never pass, these two remaining left parties have to readjust themselves. As now they are the ones fighting to change legislation, not the right. The passage of these 2 bills is somewhat symbolic of this legislature as the established status quo is turned on its head.

The military man Raniu; who was surprisingly in court after being sued by families of dead paramilitary men - ruling which he obviously won - has commented to the corriere: "This country is going to s***. No wonder we are sliding down if our politics is clearly separated from Istalian people and Istalian Values."

In the Interview with the PND Leadership, many of these questions came up, and Anna Verde told us:

We are all struggling. The next legislature is the most unpredictable. Ever. The PND is like a new party, the future literally cannot be foreseen with new members and forces. The AR is shaken and although currently in power their role was mitigated to "spectator". The PdA might have to change role from their usual "kingmaker" to potentially leader of the government - who knows. 1IST has risen to fame rapidly, but might fall just as rapidly. The FD was once close to the AR, but even they will have to adjust if the AR decides to face right. Moreover, different polls say different things. A right wing coalition is equally likely as a left wing one. However, we will all work to prevent another stalemate.

When asked about what the future allies of the PND will be, Vice Leader Di Nero has said the following:

We don't know. The natural ally is 1IST and we will support their presidential candidate in the second round. However, we can't deny that with the AR, a so called Lilac and Gold coalition, we have always had a constructive working atmosphere and this alliance has had lots of short term success in the past. In the long term we are too different, but in the short term when Istalia was in trouble, our two parties have historically always stepped up. Moreover, even now, the AR and PND keep finding common ground on topics where we are critically oppposed such as the Paramilitaries where we solidly backed the president's proposal despite our end goal being the re-legalization of said paramilitaries.

Lastly, the third Potential coalition partner would be the PdA as Istalia never really had a truly "conservative" government. This would be it. Be it under a PdA PM or a PND one. A conservative government has lots of Potential if given free reign, which it never had. Only with the FD a coalition seems unlikely, however in the past under opportunist leadership we even had worked with them for the good of the nation.

Niccolo Nachiavelli added:

The only one who is representative of the good of the nation now is honorable Mr. Raniu. He stands for Istalian Ideals. However, he is not a politician and whilst Istalian politics is currently a mess, a vote for the PND will be the closest to fixing this mess. I will not run for leadership yet and urge all Istalian loving people to vote for Mr Di Nero for President. However, if Mr Raniu would join the PND, he would have my vote!

This took a surprising turn as Nachiavelli, the only one dressed casually for this interview, had essentially expressed the will of the nation in one sentence. After recent polls, the most trusted Istalian was voted to be no one other than Mr Raniu. Who however denies to become political.

BRONZI: WE TOOK CHARGE WHEN NO ONE ELSE DID
PRIME MINSTER RESPONDS TO CRITICISM AND OPPORTUNISM

ROMULA - In her weekly press conference with the Istalian media, Prime Minister of the Republic Vittoria Bronzi discussed the weekly events with the press, as well as expectations for the upcoming General Elections.

Reporter What is the current state of the major healthcare reforms that are currently being put into action?
Bronzi:As soon as the reforms passed, Minister Fonti has reached out to private investors and major insurance companies, and arranged a large Healthcare Future Forum to discuss the reforms with all stakeholders. Following months of preperations, the Ministry of Health and Social Services has announced it will impose the reforms starting on 1 September 4490. From then on, public hospitals will slowly close down or become private hospitals. All citizens are obliged to get health insurance before January 1st 4491, and we expect the entire process to end well before the 4491 General Elections.

Reporter About these elections, what are your expectations?
Bronzi: As the polls suggest, we expect to win a big share of the seats. It is clear to see that One Istalia is very loyal to its voters; in the 4487 Elections, we promised to reform the failing healthcare system, limit immigration and finally put an end to the violent situation in the north. Well, here we are! The healthcare system is in the midst of reforming, we have imposed heavy restrictions on who can enter the country and who can't, and we have launched operation Calm Wind, to get the guns of the street in the north. In my opinion, it is clear to see that we have delivered: our voters have gotten what they've voted for and I believe that they are wise enough not to vote on parties who didn't get the succes we've had. Looking back, we can be very proud on what we have achieved and I hope it will attract a large group of voters.

There has been criticism on your party's action regarding the immigration reforms, namely that it has been exceptionally harsh and opportunistic. What is your response to this?
Bronzi: (Scoffs) Well, I must say that my criticisers are not very creative in their arguments. Really? Before the reforms, the immigration was a disaster. Hundreds of economic migrants flushed into Istalia daily and were given passports and citizenships whenever they want. That caused mass overpopulation and made our streets unsafe. Istalian citizens felt endangered and threatened in their own homes and sought their safety not with the government, who failed to come with a solution, and took up arms themselves. Very understandable. Finally, with our fellow coalition partners of the PND, we have managed to end the horrible ''lets-get-everyone-in-policy'' and made the people feel heard again. The uncertainty is going down. The trust in the government is going up, and because our streets are not flooded with immigrants who can become a citizen easily without any limits, there is no need anymore for individual citizens to defend themselves. That was the reason we started operation Calm Wind, together with our partners from the PND and AR. I encourage everyone with illegal arms to hand them in, for the sake of the safety on the streets. I mean, you can hand them in peacefully or we will find them and get them away, so there's your choice (laughs). See, all these solutions we (the cabinet) have brought, all the problems we've solved, isn't that worth anything to the critics? Before this cabinet, there was chaos and no solutions at all. Everyone was afraid to take charge. But One Istalia, The National Democratic Party and the Radical Alliance weren't. We took charge when no one else did. And if that takes a little opportunism, then I'm fine with that. But I will not stand here and let others critisize what my cabinet has done because at least we DID something.

Reporter And what about your resignation as One Istalia Party Leader? Why not run for president?
Bronzi: Well, I have to amazing children who need their mother, and being Prime Minster is already enough work for me. I simply do not have the time to also run for president, so I will continue to focus on what is important: leading this government through the final stretch.

Reporter Will you go for a second term when One Istalia wins the elections?
Bronzi: If the people need me, then I will be available for them, so yes. Now, if you can excuse me I have to go.

MESINNA: IL FRONTE POPOLARE CESSERA' DI ESISTERE. DOPO LE ELEZIONI MI RITIRO
Intervista con il Presidente Mesinna, come già si prospettava dall'uscita del PSI dalla politica il Fronte Popolare cesserà presto di esistere.

INTERVISTATORE: Grazie per aver accettato il nostro invito per un'intervista qui ad Angona, sede del Corriere.
MESINNA: Ringrazio voi per l'invito.
I: Allora, partiamo con il F.P., dopo l'uscita del PSI il Fronte Democratico è l'unico membro di questa coalizione politica che ormai dura da 100 anni. Come si comporterà il partito? Rilancerà o chiuderà il FP?
M: Mi sembra ovvio che il FP sia ormai un'istituzione morta e non ha senso mantenere attiva un'organizzazione, per il FD, totalmente inutile.
I: Quindi il FP cesserà di esistere?
M: Certo. Stiamo lavorando per chiudere l'organizzazione e di assumere i dipendenti, che il FP impiegava, all'interno del FD. La chiusura avverrà il 15 settembre 4490. Comunque credo che il FP rimarrà nella storia come una delle organizzazioni più longeve nella lotta alla destra.
I: Certamente, ma il FD entrerà in qualche altra coalizione? Nella storia dei Democratici mai il Partito è stato "solo", è sempre stato in una coalizione.
M: Su questo la Dirigenza del FD non si è ancora espressa. La mia posizione è quella di voler rimanere indipendenti da coalizioni, ma non faccio pesare la mia opinione adesso poichè intendo ritirarmi dopo le elezioni del 4491.
I: Lascia la politica?
M: Esattamente.
I: Il suo movimento dei riformisti ha già trovato una persona che candiderà al Congresso?
M: Al momento no e non credo nemmeno ci sia qualche volontario, ci saranno i candidati Liberali e Socialisti, quello è sicuro, ma dell'ala riformista non credo.
I: Quindi il suo movimento è destinato a lasciare la politica insieme a lei?
M: No, io mi ritirerò ma le persone che hanno creduto in me e sono ora parlamentari continueranno a far politica ma non credo che qualcuno di loro sia pronto o voglia aspirare alla carica di Presidente del FD.
I: Ho esaurito le domande per lei, la ringrazio ancora per quest'intervista.
M: E' stato un piacere.

INTERVIEWER: Thank you for accepting our invitation for an interview here in Angona, home of the Corriere.
MESINNA: I thank you for the invitation.
I: So, let's start with the F.P., after the exit of the PSI, the Democratic Front is the only member of this political coalition that has lasted for 100 years. How will the party behave? Will it restart or close the FP?
M: It seems obvious to me that FP is now a dead institution and it makes no sense to keep an organization, for the FD, totally useless.
I: So the FP will cease to exist?
M: Of course. We are working to close the organization and to hire the employees, whom the FP used, within the FD. The closure will take place on September 15, 4490. However, I believe that the FP will remain in history as one of the most long-lived organizations in the struggle against the right.
I: Of course, but will the FD enter some other coalition? In the history of the Democrats, the Party has never been "alone", it has always been in a coalition.
M: On this the management of the FD has not yet expressed itself. My position is to want to remain independent of coalitions, but I do not weigh my opinion now because I intend to withdraw after the 4491 elections.
I: Will you leave politics?
M: Exactly.
I: Has your reformist movement already found a person who will be a candidate in Congress?
M: At the moment no and I do not even think there is any volunteer, there will be the Liberal and Socialist candidates, that's for sure, but I do not think of the reformist wing.
I: So is your movement destined to leave politics with you?
M: No, I will retire but the people who believed in me and are now parliamentarians will continue to do politics but I do not think any of them is ready or wants to aspire to the position of President of the FD.
I: I've run out of questions for you, thank you again for this interview.

Approvato il decreto che attuerà il Libro Bianco della Difesa 4489
Nonostante le tensioni tra i partner di Governo, il Programma che rinnoverà la difesa nel corso dei prossimi trent'anni è passato quasi all'unanimità


ROMULA - Il Disegno di Legge per l'attuazione del Libro Bianco della Difesa del 4489, presentato dal Ministro della Difesa Indro Casimiri, è stato approvato all'unanimità dal Parlamento ed è ufficialmente legge della Repubblica.

Si da dunque ufficialmente il via al grande Piano di Rinnovamento delle Forze Armate Istaliane, una misura necessaria dopo che l'Istalia si è risvegliata bruscamente all'indomani delle pessime performance del Paese in ambito economico e geopolitico.
Per quasi tutto il 45esimo secolo la Difesa istaliana non ha visto grandi investimenti e programmi di rinnovamento ed anzi, i costi di mantenimento di attrezzature sempre più datate sono cresciuti costantemente.

Le Forze Armate conoscerano una razionalizzazione, con con riduzione del numero di mezzi specializzati e puntando piuttosto su mezzi dalle capacità multiruolo adattabili a diverse necessità secondo il ruolo e la funzione che andranno a ricoprire.
La riforma, comunque, è anche rivolta ad una razionalizzazione, o meglio, riduzione delle spese e tra le misure adottate dal Disegno di Legge, vi è stata la decisione di porre in Riserva Strategica due delle Portaerei Istaliane. Le unità non saranno radiate, ma saranno come poste in stasi ed attivate solo in caso di necessità.

Per entrare nel dettaglio del Programma, le portaerei che resteranno pienamente in attività a turno verranno sottoposte a profondi lavori di ammodernamento, missione resa facile dall'originaria concezione delle Portaerei il cui progetto aveva previsto futuri upgrading delle unità per estenderne di molto la longevità.
Nuove classi di una fregata, o cacciatorpediniere, missilistica e di un Pattugliatore d'Altura, concepiti ovviamente come unità multiruolo, sostituiranno progressivamente tutte le attuali classi di fregate e pattugliatori.
Quindi una nuova classe di Navi d'Assalto Anfibio andrà a sostituire tutte le attuali navi dedicate a questo ruolo.

L'Esercito anche conoscerà l'introduzioni di diversi nuovi mezzi multiruolo che sostituiranno quasi tutto il parco mezzi, che comunque sarà messo in Riserva Strategica come le due Portaerei. Grande attenzione è stata data ad incrementare la capacità della componente terrestre della Difesa, con grande attenzione data all'artiglieria ed alla difesa dello spazio aereo.
Per l'esercito, il Governo ha annunciato che è stato raggiunto un accordo con Vanuku per lo sviluppo di un nuovo fucile d'assalto, già definito "Majatran Riffle", mentre in trattativa è lo sviluppo in comune di un nuovo jet multiruolo per l'Aeronautica.

La componente aerea istaliana probabilmente era quella che necessita meno interventi ed infatti piuttosto che un ammodernamento, la forza aerea sarà interessata da un rafforzamento della componento d'attacco al suolo, in funzione offensiva ma anche difensiva.
Accanto a questo progetto che prevede la partecipazione di un partner internazionale, l'Aeronautica ha spinto affinché il Governo prevedesse lo sviluppo di un Caccia per la Supremazia Aerea puramente istaliano da affiancare all'F-43, grande riuscita ma conseguita dopo lunghi ritardi e costi elevati e che ha visto diverse soluzioni preferite dall'Istalia venire accantonate per accontentare le 9 nazioni coinvolte nel progetto.

Altre ricerche e programmi di sviluppo sono stati inclusi nel Libro Bianco mentre riguardo al finanziamento del Programma di rinnovamento, il Governo ha confermato che sarà utilizzato il budget ordinario e che la riforma sarà dunque conseguita a tappe e nell'arco dei prossimi decenni.
Non è stata però esclusa la possibilità di dedicare finanziamenti a specifici progetti.

Riforma ben accolta dagli ambienti militari e dagli esperti del settore, che però si domandano se il budget riuscirà a sostenere questi programmi. Secondo indiscrezioni provenienti dal Ministero delle Finanze, il Ministro Riccolo avrebbe già sottolineato che probabilmente altri tagli dovranno essere effettuati per restare dentro i limiti di spesa, e tra le proposte avanzate vi sarebbe quella di mettere in Riserva Strategica, oltre alle due Portaerei come da programma, anche alcuni dei Sottomarini Strategici Balistici. Queste proposte, però, hanno ricevuto l'accesa opposizione sia del partito del Ministro, i NazionalDemocratici, sia dell'establishment militare che si oppongono ad una tale riduzione delle capacità di deterrenza e proiezione della forza della Difesa Istaliana.

Molte persone si chiedono se il paese riuscirà a mantenere queste spese, ma altrettanti sono quelli che si chiedono se ci sia ancora il bisogno o la volontà politica di mantenere queste spese.

Approved the decree implementing the 4489 White Paper of the Defense
Despite the tensions between the Government partners, the Program that will renew the defense over the next thirty years has passed almost unanimously

ROMULA -The Draft of law for the implementation of the 4489 White Paper of Defense, presented by the Minister of Defense Indro Casimiri, was almost unanimously approved by Parliament and is officially law of the Republic.

Thus, it officially starts the great Renewal Plan of the Istalian Armed Forces, a necessary measure after Istalia has awakened sharply in the aftermath of the poor performance of the country in the economic and geopolitical sphere.
For almost the entire 45th century the Istalian Defense has not seen major investments and renewal programs and indeed, the cost of maintaining increasingly dated equipment has grown steadily.

The Armed Forces will know a rationalization, with a reduction in the number of specialized vehicles and aiming rather at equipements with multi-role capabilities adaptable to different needs according to the role and function they will cover.
The reform, however, is also aimed at rationalization, or better, reduction of expenses and among the measures adopted by the Bill, there was the decision to place two of the Istalian aircraft carriers in Strategic Reserve. The units will not be radiated, but will be placed in stasis and activated only if necessary.

To enter into the details of the Program, the aircraft carriers that will remain fully in service in turn will undergo profound modernization works, a mission made easy by the original conception of the aircraft carriers whose project had planned future upgrading of the units to greatly extend longevity.
New classes of a missilistic frigate, or destroyer, and an Offshore Patrol Boat, obviously conceived as multi-role units, will progressively replace all current classes of frigates and patrol boats.
So a new class of Amphibious Assault Ships will replace all current ships dedicated to this role.

The Army will also know the introduction of several new multi-role vehicles that will replace almost all the fleet, which will be placed in the Strategic Reserve like the two Carriers. Great attention was given to increasing the capacity of the ground component of the Defense, with great attention given to artillery and defense of airspace.
For the army, the Government has announced that an agreement has been reached with Vanuku for the development of a new assault rifle, already called "Majatran Riffle", while in negotiation is the joint development of a new multi-role jet for the Air Force.

The istalian aerial component was probably the one that needs less interventions and in fact rather than a modernization, the air force will be affected by a strengthening of the attack on the ground capabilities, in an offensive but also defensive function.
Alongside this project that involves the participation of an international partner, the Air Force pushed for the Government to envisage the development of a purely Istalian Jet Fighter for Air Supremacy to enter in service alongside the F-43, a jet which was a great success but achieved after long delays and increasing costs and that has seen several solutions preferred by istalia to be set aside to satisfy the 9 nations involved in the project.

Other research and development programs have been included in the White Paper, while regarding the financing of the Renewal Program, the Government has confirmed that the ordinary budget will be used and that the reform will therefore be achieved in stages and over the next decades.
However, the possibility of allocating funding to specific projects has not been ruled out.

The Program was well received by the military and defense experts, but they wonder if the budget will be really able to support these programs. According to rumors from the Ministry of Finance, Minister Riccolo has already pointed out that probably other cuts will have to be made to stay within the spending limits, and among the advanced proposals there would be to one proposing to put in Strategic Reserve, in addition to the two aircraft carriers as scheduled, also some of the Ballistic Strategic Submarines. These proposals, however, have received the fierce opposition of both the party of the Minister, the National Democrats, and of the military establishment that are opposed to such a reduction in deterrence and projection capabilities of the Istalian Defense.

Many people wonder if the country will manage to keep these expenses, but also many are those who wonder if there is still the need or the political will to keep these expenses.

ROMULA - Dopo più di un secolo di tensioni ed accesi scontri diplomatici, dopo la cessazione di qualsiasi relazione diplomatica e commerciale, alla vigilia del 46esimo secolo Istalia e Kazulia sembrano pronte a fare i primi passi verso un disgelo delle relazioni reciproche.

Ad avanzare la proposta della visita di stato ufficiale è stato il Governo Kazuliano che ha incontrato la piena disponibilità della controparte istaliana.
Data la progressiva dissoluzione dell'alleanza geostrategica del Consiglio Settentrionale sembra essere venuto meno il principale elemento di tensione tra i due Governi.
L'Istalia, sostenuta dagli alleati dell'Alleanza Majatrana, lo ricordiamo, aveva adottato una politica marcatamente opposta al Consiglio Settentrionale, accusato di ingerenza negli affari Majatrani e che si scontrava con la politica continentale definita "Majatra per i Majatrani" perseguita particolarmente da Istalia e Vanuku.

Sia Skalm che Romula, dopo quasi un secolo di tensioni, finalmente sembrano pronte a lasciarsi le dispute del passato alle spalle e ristabilire relazioni ufficiali.
Riguardo il Governo Kazuliano, probabilmente la dissoluzione del Consiglio Settentrionale ha spinto Skalm ad avviare un processo di riforma della propria politica estera, ma per quanto riguarda l'Istalia è chiara la volontà di ristabilire relazioni economiche e commerciali con la Grande Potenza nord Dovaniana con la quale si lavorerà a stretto contatto per un trattato commerciale tra i due paesi.

Il Presidente Al-Maktum ha accolto con tutti gli onori il Primo Ministro Kazuliano, Elisabeth Nordvik, a Palazzo Quattroregni e durante la dichiarazione congiunta rilasciata di fronte ai giornalisti, il Presidente Al-Maktum, tra i tanti argomenti trattati, ha commentato la visita di stato anche in funzione delle future sfide in ambito geopolitico:

Sia Kazulia che l'Istalia sono due grandi e stabili democrazie che hanno segnato la storia recente del mondo per il loro impegno nel difendere i principi democratici. Ciò che ci ha diviso per lungo tempo non erano divergenze di carattere ideologico ma piuttosto geostrategico e... ciò ha ovviamente comportanto per entrambe le parti prese di posizioni alle volte discutibili e che... probabilmente in più di un'occasione hanno visto i comuni valori che ci legano venir messi da parte per altri obbiettivi.
Spero sinceramente che questa visita ufficiale di Sua Eccellenza il Primo Ministro Nordvik possa essere solo il primo passo di un sentiero che ci porterà a lasciarci il passato alle spalle.
Sono inoltre convinto che, di fronte all'emergere di tanti nazioni canaglia, dittature e regimi dell'orrore che minacciano la pace mondiale nonché la pacifica esistenza e lo stile di vita di milioni di cittadini e di tante nazioni libere, le nazioni democratiche del mondo devono far fronte comune per far trionfare i principi di democrazia e libertà che hanno permesso alle nostre nazioni di prosperare e che hanno assicurato ai nostri cittadini nazioni stabili e pacifiche per lunghissimo tempo.
È quindi tempo, credo, di concentrarsi nuovamente non più su quello che può dividerci, ma su quello che ci unisce.

Istalia welocomes the Kazulian Prime Minister: thaw in sight?
With the dissolution of the Northern Council, Kazulia and Istalia seem ready to leave behind the grudges of the past

ROMULA - After more than a century of tensions and heated diplomatic clashes, after the breaking off of any diplomatic and commercial relationship, on the eve of the 46th century Istalia and Kazulia seem ready to take the first steps towards a thaw of mutual relations.

The Kazulian government is the one advancing the proposal of the official state visit which met the full availability of the istalian counterpart.
Given the progressive dissolution of the geostrategic alliance of the Northern Council, the main element of tension between the two governments seems to have disappeared.
Istalia, supported by the allies of the Majatran Alliance, we remember, had adopted a policy markedly opposed to the Northern Council, accused of interference in the Majatran affairs and that clashed with the continental policy called "Majatra for the Majatrans" particularly pursued by Istalia and Vanuku.

Both Skalm and Romula, after almost a century of tensions, finally seem ready to leave the past disputes behind and restore official relations.
Concerning the Kazulian Government, probably the dissolution of the Northern Council has pushed Skalm to start a process of reform of its foreign policy, but as regards to Istalia it is clear the will to re-establish economic and commercial relations with the north Dovanian Great Power with which Istalia will work closely for a trade treaty between the two countries.

President Al-Maktum welcomed the Kazulian Prime Minister, Elisabeth Nordvik, to Quattroregni Palace with all the honors and during the joint declaration issued to journalists, President Al-Maktum, among the many topics discussed, commented on the visit also in the light of the future geopolitical challenges:

Both Kazulia and Istalia are two large and stable democracies that have marked the recent history of the world for their commitment to defending democratic principles. What divided us for a long time were not ideological but rather geostrategic divergences and... this obviously led to positions that were sometimes questionable for both sides and that... probably on more than one occasion they saw the common values ​​that bind us to be set aside for other goals.
I sincerely hope that this official visit of His Excellency the Prime Minister Nordvik can only be the first step on a path that will lead us to leave the past behind us.
I am also convinced that, faced with the emergence of many rogue nations, dictatorships and horror regimes that threaten world peace and the peaceful existence and lifestyle of millions of citizens and of many free nations, the democratic nations of the world must join forces to make triumph the principles of democracy and liberty which have allowed our nations to prosper and which have assured our citizens stable and peaceful nations for a very long time.
It is therefore time, I think, to focus again no more on what can divide us, but on what unites us.
