Pre-Election Dirt: PND Whip Othman Kassis is "confused" about Radical leader's Morandi "choice of women"
Former Minister of Education and Culture Mattheo Vespa-Baldassare stands alone in his support of Morandi in the National Democratic Party

Now that the elections are upon us, the facades of friendliness amongst the Istalian parties, which are supposed to be united, have seemingly come to an end as parties try to win more seats in the chamber for their respective goals - by all means necessary. And this means the usual amount of pre-election dirt with the PND Whip Kassis taking the first shots at the AR Leader Morandi. Technically, all of the Ministers in the cabinet are still working in good cooperation, Prime Minister De Felice (PND) and Minister of Foreign Affairs Yassen (AR) are (ironically) even known to be very close as their beliefs in Istalia on the International scene are extremely similar and they share other common interests. However, Mr Kassis is the PND Whip in the chamber, his hands are untied as his job is to pass bills, gain votes and be generally intimidating towards the other parties. Hence, since the scoop of AR Leader Morandi having an affair with an underage actress in Bunogna - especially in light of the tragic events there - Kassis has been wanting to attack the AR Leader directly and with the elections coming up, this opportunity has presented itself.

Whilst campaigning in his home state Padagna (in Genevia - not his home town), Othman Kassis has made this speech to a vast group of people attending the PND rally - the Nationalists have always been popular in Padagna so giving the speech there was also playing safe by the PND Whip:
What unites the Istalian people more than anything? The language? Well there are many dialects so that is not it. The ethnicity? Well, I am a proud Quanzari whilst most of my friends and people here as it seems are Istalian or even something entirely different as due to globalization Istalia has experienced a lot - too much - migration, so that is not it either. I will tell you what it is, it is namely something that the National Democratic Party of Istalia has always been protecting against excess liberalism: morals, ethics and values. The key ones are of course freedom and democracy, but some other moral points include loyalty, unity and family values. The last one I want to stress in light of recent events as the holy family values definitely do not include the seduction of underage girls! Funnily enough, this is NOT a "minor" issue. This is a major issue and the fact that the man in question is not on trial or at least has not lost his political immunity is a grave sign for the status quo of our familial values. They have been corrupted and I am deeply disappointed and almost disgusted by the general acceptance of something so unacceptable! The PND as the only truly conservative and patriotic party will fight this corruption with everything we have!

Finally, I would like to say that above everything else I am confused about the choice in women? Why does the person in question prefer girls which are of age to be his daughter? Why are the parents not stepping in after all yes the age of consent is 14 - which we will try to increase to 16 by the way - but the man in question is more than double her age! Moreover, I am sure that the honorable Gentleman is in fact breaking the law as the law clearly states, that the partner cannot be in a position of power over the minor, which he as a nationally known political figure - aspiring to lead the country and possessing political priveleges - clearly is! It is clearly a violation of consent law! The PND is not the victims, hence we will not sue but the parents of the young girl should definitely consider it. Finally, the honorable Gentleman has exploited the stress induced upon the girl caused by the terrible terrorist attack in Bunogna. He has essentially taken advantage of her in her relatively traumatized state. That is not a sign of love and affection, it is a sign of moral degeneracy which can be combatted if the whole nation votes purple!

Meanwhile, the former Minister of Education and Culture Mattheo Vespa-Baldassare (PND) has taken a risk by defending Mr Morandi as in the conservative party which the National Democrats are; his stance is unique. Of course the word of a Vespa-Baldassare is always strongly respected in the party and his position as former Minister adds to that, but that does not make it accepted.
Mattheo Vespa-Baldassare has told the National Media:
As many know, my family is quite big. And in this big family, spanning over two Democratic Istalian parties and in many other branches, liberalism is not a foreign word. The ULD, the presidential candidate of which is my lovely Cousin Francesca, is arguably the most liberal party in Istalia. So are you telling me, that I should call my family "morally degenerate"? Should I call a man who is leading another great democratic party of Istalia a paedophile even though the law and the general consensus has nothing to back this up? My moral compass does not allow me to do any of these things. I think that love is something beautiful and would my son, who is now 20 and leading the next generation of National Democrats in the "Young Alternative" bring home a woman more than twice his age I would undoubtebly question his taste, but I would not question his morality. Of course as any National Democrat I believe the law of consent should be revised for more protection of the minor, but Ms Moretti was already 17 and quite accomplished so I do not believe that in that specific case even a revised, stricter law would in any way apply to the two lovebirds. I wish them honestly the best of luck in their hopefully beautiful and long lasting relationship.

And I wish my party to use cleaner tactics to lead their election campaign!

Minister of Health and Social Services Anna Verde (PND) becomes presidential candidate as the third nationalist woman in a row!

Image
Presidential Candidate of the PND Anna Verde (49)

Speaking of the election campaign, the National Democrats are sending a third wonderful woman in a row to fight in the Presidential race. The Minister of Health and Social Services Anna Verde (49) will compete to lead the nation in the next legislature. The fact that a woman is once again the Nationalist candidate for Presidency is relatively bizarre as the party is very male dominated. However; the Minister is young and has more than proven herself time and Time again and since Maria Muller did not want to try her luck again, the honorable Gentlemen of the PND Leadership have all endorsed Ms Verde!

RESISTENZA! | PdSI Official journal | 25th of July of 4464

EVENING'S STRAORDINARY EDITION

Alletta Killed.
Minister of Internal Affairs Ugo Chiave appointed as Alletta substitute and new PdSI Candidate. The killer was shot dead by security.

Salvatore Alletta has been killed today, during the closing speech in his hometown, Mutina, in Padagna. After one of its greatest political moments, the President was hit by several shots coming from the row. The author of the attempt is called Riccardo Curcio: when he came up and extracted his gun, he shouted some brief words:

Death to the bourgeoise's servants! The proletarian justice calls you, Mr. President!"

The security immediately managed to shot the terrorist, failing anyway to avoid an extreme confusion in the conference hall. The intelligence already revealed that Mr. Curcio was suspected to be the FAPC leader, and that police custody should've started in a few days: many, already, are the criticisms moved to the security which organized the event in collaboration with the highest forces of the state: how it was possible for a suspected man to freely access at the president's convention, and, most of all, not in the spectators area but in the first row.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Ugo Chiave, which was on the stage near to the president, immediately helped the agonizing man with the members of the security, but when the ambulances arrived and the chaos was appeased, Mr. Alletta was already dead.
In the afternoon, just after the murder, Chiave parteciped both to an extraordinary meeting with the other members of the government, and to a private discussion with Gioia Garofani, the leader of the Party of Istalian Socialism. At the end of the first meeting, the head of the constitutional court flew in Romula to talk to the parliament, announcing the extraordinary substitution of Mr. Chiave with Mr. Alletta as President of the Republic until the beginning of the next General elections. After the meeting of Ms. Garofani, then, Ugo Chiave was indicated as new candidate of the Popular Front for next elections.

Expressing our sadness for the loss of our beloved President, we report here some key passages of his last speech:
We live on a strange world, don't we? It has always been. Our parents lived as us in a world of conflicting powers and, under them, masses of poor trying to escape these horrors and build a dignitouos life. It's the same today. Majatra and whole Terra are in the hands of different powers, each with its interests, but nearly no one with an interest for the well of people. Focusing on Majatra, we can today see dictatorships, old reigns, oligarchies, massacres done both by concrete and invisible arms, like money and mediatic campaigns aimed to change our way of life. Istalia must be the barrier to all these things: many people from abroad would like to see us become barbaric, without a brain to remember our great story of social conquests and foreign aid: even inside our frontiers, we've witnessed the brutal voice of who wanted to change our nation forever, soaking it in blood: they failed. The istalian people didn't choose fear, the istalian people choose freedom. Every man searching for freedom in his life, will always see in Istalia his land; every man despising freedom, will always see in Istalia his thoughest enemy.

Good trip, Mr. President.

Victory Celebration of the PND in Palerno had the dress code „black“ in mourning of the Socialist President Alletta
President elect Anna Verde promises to „bring the war to them“
Image

The nation is shocked once again this time by the atrocious murder of President Alletta. For the third time in this legislative period, the national flags have been lowered as the nation mourns the passing of a true leader. Many people are scared to leave their homes as the streets of Romula are emptier than usual with a steadily rising feeling that „even the President was not safe“. More police, partially thanks to the larger budget, has been dispatched on the most terror prone locations in the Republic, especially noticeable is the police presence in Romula, in airports and railway stations. The tourism industry has already recorded a slight drop in revenue in contrast to the previous year, and the famous Istalian beaches have recorded the lowest attendance of the last hundred years in this year‘s month of August.

Nonetheless, the general elections were held as planned in August 4464 with extra high security measures. In some especially prone locations the army has been called in to assist the police. This state of anxiety has also been attributed the lower election attendance than usual - dropping by 5% compared to 4 years ago - with just over 75% attendance.
The elections were won by the PND in the chamber - cracking the benchmark of 100 seats - as well as in the Presidential Race. Anna Verde has become the third nationalist president in recent history and the third woman to take up that mantle from the purple party. The signal was clear: people have lost faith in the liberal way and have full faith in the conservative-authoritarian-leaning ways of the National Democrats. It is now time for the nationalists to take responsibility.

During the traditional PND celebrations in Palerno, which Prime Minister De Felice did not attend as work demanded his presence in Romula, the mood was less festive and more serious as the Party members came in black to show respect to President Alletta. Most also wore a red accessory as a further gesture of respect to the Socialist Politician. The newly elected President Verde has given a short speech outlining the general mood of the event and in general the country:
We have lost a great politician. A great man. It was a true honour to work as Minister of Health and Social Services under such a patriotic and committed leader. I send out my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Mr Alletta. No one will replace him and we will remember him and what he stood for always. Us nationalists and socialists are natural opponents, but President Alletta made us forget all of that as he saw the true enemy: terrorism. Sadly, what unifies us is conflict. But, Prsident Alletta made it about more than that. He unified all parties - left and right - not only to fight some enemy, but to fight for a cause, namely FREEDOM. The words of his last speech resonate with me, and I think all of us. These words strike the hearts of the people and chase away the fear that terrorists and enemies of Istalia want to instill in us. Our love for freedom and our compassion for our compatriots is stronger than any fear!

As President of the Republic, I promise to take upon myself the task of the people to not only eradicate terrorism, but to bring the war to them. We will bring war to all enemies of Istalia, all enemies of freedom. These resentful people might be smiling now, but in 4 years they will have absolutely NOTHING to smile about. Like the truly great President Alletta said: „Every man despising freedom, will always see in Istalia his toughest enemy!“
Rest in Peace President Alletta.
Long live ISTALIA!

The country pays tribute to Alletta with emotion and great dignity
The former Head of State who brought the nation together to face the terrorist threat has earned rightfully a place of honor in the history of Istalia

[size=90]ROMULA - State funeral followed by millions of citizens and demonstrations and marchs in all the cities of Istalia to remember and honor his memory: in this way the country is paying tribute to Salvatore Alletta, beloved President of the Republic, distinguished for his courage, dignity and resoluteness and who without hesitation put himself at the head of the nation to guide it during one of the most difficult periods in the Republic.

The entire political world is equally unanimously expressing its condolences for the tragic loss of Alletta and of course the militants of the Party of Istalian Socialism are those who more than any other, clearly, are demonstrating the love and admiration they had for one of the most charismatic leaders of the PdSI and who will join with full merit other great names in the history of the party, as Ernesto Revara and Endrigo Bellinguer.

Aghar Yassen, Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the other hand, held a brief press conference with which he responded to the comments made by the Leader of the Military Dictatorship of Deltaria:

The Istalian Government cannot but express all its dismay at the shameful and inhuman statements made by the Deltarian Leader. Personally, however, as a proud citizen of Istalia and as a member of a healthy society and one of the most developed and enlightened in the world, I cannot but say that I am not astonished to see where such comments come from, that is a nation clearly degenerated to a simply barbaric status and dominated by the culture of death and violence.
President Alletta has been a great leader, internally as well as internationally, a statesman who will be remembered and honored by history, a thing that we could not say for a man who at the date already has entered the short list of the most despised people of this century as to burn symbolically his effigies, alongside other shames of the human race such as the Hulstrian dictator Leopold Nimitz. I do not understand what there is to be proud of being joined to one of the greatest criminals, and LOSERS, of History... does he want probably to "emulate" his end?

Image
Giorgio Lucchini, creator and director of Star Clashes

Star Clashes: an Istalian big-budget blockbuster movie that will mark a new revolution for science fiction
Giorgio Lucchini's visionary genius produced what is already announced as the saga of the century between special effects and political messages

The Istalian Cinema is ready to present what has been already announced as an enormous block buster and as a real milestone of science fiction, the first chapter of a saga prompted from the imagination of director Giorgio Lucchini who in the wake of the tradition of large space opera will see the good and the evil clashes in an epic conflict that will affect an entire galaxy and will extend over more than thirty years.

Giorgio Lucchini has already declared that the saga will be divided into three sections, each dedicated to a different generation of heroes involved in the same great conflict, but also that each section will be divided into three films: a large "ennealogy" divided into three trilogy therefore. Regarding the production and so the release of the films of the saga, Lucchini has estimated that between one film and the other you will have to wait at least two years (and maybe something more between a trilogy and the other). A colossal work that will take a long time to Lucchini to bring it to completion, a challenge that does not scare Lucchini who sees in the saga an opportunity to express not only his creative genius but also his axpirations for this work.

To clarify this as well as anticipate a little the story told, we interviewed Giorgio Lucchini, who answered our questions:

With Star Clashes I wanted to translate into an immense, exotic, strange and mysterious universe, teeming with life of any sort and an incredible technology, some of the most ancient archetypes, fundamental and rooted in the majority of the peoples of the world.
In fact, I wanted to create a grandiose stage for what is probably the most ancient conflict of the Man as being endowed with reason and conscience: the eternal clash between Good and Evil.
I believe that the world needs great stories to capture the collective imagination and that like the stories and myths of the past should offer ideas for reflection as well as indicating the right path to follow. And I think that in this moment the world needs this: we are going through a dark period for humanity, a period that is seeing emerging regimes and dictatorships of all kinds, which see the Man dominating the Man, the Man discriminating the Man, the Man deny the Man... how can we not identify all of this as the greatest evil that can be done? But we must also think about what is even worse, that is to ignore all this evil, remain silent and bend the head or turn it away.
Evil, in my film, will try to pursue absolute and totalitarian domination while the Good, though crushed and apparently defenseless, will resist to counteract evil and bring an entire galaxy to light and freedom.

Speaking of totalitarianism and freedom, it was inevitable to ask Lucchini about the political messages contained in his work:

A great Empire of Evil that will subtly try to reach absolute power to dominate a galaxy with an iron fist and fear through a gargantuan military machine and establishing a severe discriminatory system on the one hand and the history of men and women who fight against this totalitarianism in the name of freedom and to restore democracy on the other!
This saga will be an ode to all those in the world who fight, fought and will fight for freedom and justice against all forms of dictatorship and violence.

The first chapter of this saga will be called "Star Clashes - Episode I: the Shadow of the Evil" and will see Lucchini's Galaxy begin to be manipulated by the Evil that, operating precisely in the shadows, will extend its influence on the opulent but also decadent and corrupt democratic system of the countless peoples of the galaxy.
We will therefore see the first generation of heroes of this epic take the first steps and face the enormous galactic reality and weave those links that will be essential for the development of the story in the rest of the saga.

ULTIM'ORA: smantellati i Nuclei d'Azione Rivoluzionaria!
Image
Demonstration remembering Salvatore Alletta

BREACKING NEWS: Corps of Revolutionary Action dismantled!
Raids of the Anti-Terrorist Operative Units in the major centers of the country have led to the arrest of over 148 people and among these there is a well-known professor of the Enrico Bergson University of Romula

Reorganized thanks to the adoption of training and tactics used by the AISIR agents, the State Police's Anti-Terrorist Operative Units carried out during the night an operation extended to the whole country and which led to the arrest of many members of the far-right terrorist group Corps of Revolutionary Action by putting the same existence in crisis.

148 people were arrested during the raids that affected the suburbs of the major istalian centers, Romula and Milona, and therefore several locations in Trivendito and Silicia.
Most of the people in detention were already known to the police as far-right militants, many already stopped for acts of violence of various kinds, as vandalism during demonstrations and assaults on social centers of the left and against militants of the most opposite political camps, but among them numerous university students were also found, especially in Romula.
Among the arrested, in fact, stands out the name of Antonino della Quercia, professor of Ancient History and Philosophy at the Enrico Bergson University of Romula, which was pointed out by the investigators as the ideological soul of the far-right movement through which the organization has gained different acolytes, students of Della Quercia persuaded to join the cause.

Several appartments and warehouse have also been seized as "operational centers" of the organization, including della Quercia's house, in which, in addition to a lot of propaganda material, weapons, money and explosives reserves were also found, most likely of the same type used for the bombing at the Bunogna Central Station. The weapons are suspected may have been used in many armed robberies, especially in Mezzodiurn and Trivendito, conducted to raise funds for the terrorist organization and the scientific police expect to find on the banknotes sequestered numbers of the matrix corresponding to the money stolen illegally.

Astonishment is arousing the arrest of della Quercia, especially in the academic world but also into the politics, having been seen, della Quercia, in the company of several politicians and personalities of the economic world in past years. Della Quercia was in fact a frequenter of the most exclusive cultural and social circles of the capital but many that knew him siad he always maintained a certain privacy and a very low profile.
Unlikely similar testimonies will lead to the involvement of some politicians since the investigators have noted how the della Quercia until the time of the arrest was especially concerned with recruiting "troops" for the organization among young people of the university but also between circles of far-right in the most degraded suburbs.
Alongside della Quercia, have been arrested Marcello Carminati and Danilo Abbattini, the leader of a mafia-like organization operating in the capital and the Mezzodiurno, stand out as co-heads of the organization, partly merging with the NAR themself: the two organizations, for example, shared the same "arsenal" of weapons.

The Ministry of the Interior has declared that with this operation the second and most dangerous terrorist organization present in Istalia can be considered as dismantled and it is expected that in the weeks that will come further operations will be carried out to dismantle even minor organizations or related to the largest ones already dismantled.
Great satisfaction has been expressed by virtually the entire political world and especially by the Premier de Felice, which will certainly increase even more the appreciation of the electorate, having remained alone as a symbol of the fight against terrorism next to President Alletta and even managing to make elect the candidate President of the PND Anna Verde.
But some extra-parliamentary organizations are starting to criticize the government and law enforcement agencies, especially by far-left organizations that have reported abuses and brutality during investigations and counter-terrorism operations.
A well-known social center in the southern suburbs of Romula, for example, has reported damages for over five hundred thousand of Lire caused by a raid of the SWAT teams that ransacked and brutally damaged the place and during which five members of the collective who runs the social center were arrested and then released after a few hours.
A Florenza was denounced the unjustified detention for more than six days of a young left-wing militant of the suburbs, also involved in drug affairs, during which the young man would have been mistreated so to cause the injury of an eye and the fracture of two fingers. For this last case, however, the Florenza Public Prosecutor's Office has already initiated legal proceedings against several members of the local SWAT Teams.

Consortium's Embargo: we are feeling the effects
The measures taken in Zardugal are mainly contributing to this slowing down but the deterioration of relations and the Zardugal exit from the Majatran Alliance had already led to a loosening of economic ties

Finally, the effects of the embargo imposed against Istalia by the nations of the Consortium's Alliance are making themselves felt on the financial markets as well as on the real economy: last night the main stocks quoted on the Romula International Exchange ended the day in negative while in Palerno the Maksimuma Sarrentina, an istalian branch of the well-known Zardic firm, announced the halting of the production sites. The CEO of the company, Giuseppe Cagliozzi, responded to the journalists:

The embargo imposed against Istalia not only prevented us from exporting to Zardugal, our largest market in West Majatra, but also posed serious problems for the continuation of the operations here on the ground due to the impossibility of importing products and raw materials from Zardugal to be resold and transformed in Istalia and therefore posed very serious problems from a financial point of view, given that today we are totally cut off from the parent company. With these conditions, the company will be unable to continue operations in Istalia.

Another company that is having the biggest problems because of the embargo is Magistro-Leonardi, precisely an Istalo-Zardic corporations, considered as the largest industrial group in Majatra, which, in addition to being forced to stop all production in the factories in Zardugal, will experience strong slowdowns due to the impossibility of accessing the local domestic market. However, the Group President, Simona Gigli, commented on the difficulties encountered:

I can not deny that the loss of such a market will generate quite negative returns for Magistro-Leonardi, but on the other hand we have to consider several factors that, how can I say... could mitigate the blow: already with the deterioration of relationships between Istalia and Zardugal the company's turnover in western Majatra had already experienced a certain slowdown and moreover, with Maksimuma in Zardugal became the only military contractor, we have for some time been forced to leave.
Soon we should organize a meeting of the Board of Directors that will assess whether and how to freeze our assets in Zardugal and then how to re-locate the production, possibly in Cobura. For the moment I can say that we will be able to buffer the losses in about three years, for the more than three hundred thousand workers hired in our factories in Zardugal... we can not do anything for them.

Among the other companies that will suffer considerable problems there is one of the companies controlled by Magistro-Leonardi, or the Ajace Aeronautics that in Zardugal has always subcontracted the production of the fuselages and other important components of its planes and helicopters and the company's Chairman has already announced that for at least the next two years the company will not be able to meet its commitments and will obviously be forced to find a solution to continue production. Ajace has two options: subcontracting to Magistro-Leonardi in Istalia or turning to the Vanukean market. With the difficulties of the parent company, however, for the moment the second option is the most realistic.

The closure of the Zardic market is also affecting the business of Istelecom, to date the most widespread telephone company in Majatra with Zardugal as the third largest business market, and therefore Oliverdi which had to close all its OliStore in Zardugal and which will not count on that market for the distribution of the Oliphone, its new flagship product.

With regard to the effects of the embargo from Deltaria and Saridan, they will be minimal given that against Saridan Istalia had for decades already adopted an embargo and several economic sanctions while about Deltaria, which was also hit by the sanctions on several occasions by our part, Istalia had already broken much of the ties with the rise of the communist regime, then previously with the Grand Principality with which the relations have always been very tense especially following the crisis of the Majatran Alliance and the Jelbanian Civil War which led to the establishment of a veritable cold war with a consequent collapse of economic relations, factors that contributed to the serious economic crisis that hit Istalias and Majatra in the first half of the century.

In general, therefore, despite the embargo can not cause enormous damage in the long term and the risk of economic crises on the horizon has been excluded, the break with the Zardici markets is, however, causing a slowdown at which the market will be able to respond in one or maximum three years. It will be interesting to see the effects of the embargo on the Zardico market, which already, as announced, will find hundreds of thousands of workers on the street and then will see the largest multinational company, Maksimuma, lose what was in effect the largest market on which it operated, precisely the istalian one. Even the Western Majatran nation should not face any serious crisis, also thanks to the new common market of the Consortium, but certainly also Zardugal will pay the break with the nation in Majatra with which had established the greatest economic relations in the last century and half.

Day 2 of talks between Istalia and Solentia
A memorandum to be signed by both sides has been drafted to "commemorate the great event"
Image
De Felice in his final speech in Solentia after signing the memorandum of Istalo-Solentian cooperation

(Ooc: this is part two of my previous article so the embargo of the Consortium Alliance did not happen yet sorry for the inconvenience)

Despite tensions in Majatra due to the continued stand off between the Consortium Alliance and its enemy number one Istalia, the talks in the Solentian capital between the Istalian President of the Council of Ministers and the Solentian First Soldier continued as planned with lots of progress being made as both sides intended to maximize the output of said talks and bring Istalo-Solentian relations to a higher level. De Felice also met with the Istalian intelligence services to discuss the mutual interest of fighting terrorism with the theme running through to the meeting with the Ministers of Infrastructure and Foreign Affairs. The discussion of the Consortium Alliance has been unavoidable but the two sides seem to have an understanding regarding that too, more about that later.

At breakfast, the Istalian Head of Government had the opportunity to talk with the Solentian intelligence agencies and even though these talks occurred behind closed doors, De Felice has commented that:
Their intelligence services are very cooperative and together with ours we will find these pests soon enough!

(Ooc: this links with one of the organizations being destroyed by now)

De Felice has also noted how the future of the two nation's security, even after the destruction of the current threat, will be focused on "prevention". Hence, we can expect the Istalian and Solentian agencies to constantly stay in touch to find the horrible terrorists and extremists!

During the discussion with the ministers for infratsucture and foreign affairs about the ongoing border controls, De Felice commended the Solentian side saying :
We are very happy that we have such responsible people working at our common border. Of course it is troublesome that the roads leading in and out of our respective countries are so congested, but these brave men and women do a splendid job and I believe that in this particular case security takes priority. These terrorists must not escape anywhere! However, as soon as the threat is gone, we should work on the exact opposite - the easening of travel between our two great nations!

During the meeting, the Consortium Alliance question obviously came up, but the two sides seem to have agreed that it is Solentia's choice to join the Alliance, but as always anything Solentia does it will be liable for these actions, however, the actual membership itself will "of course not be punished" according to De Felice.

After Lunch and before De Felice could head back home to Istalia to prepare for elections (ooc: yes this is happening two IG years ago), he and the First Soldier have signed a memorandum to commemorte the event and solidify Istalo-Solentian relations. The memorandum involved many things regarding the future but also some things will be enacted in the present, such as the compatability of Solentia being in the Consortium Alliance and the friendship with Istalia, as De Felice hopes for them to take on a "Mediary role" between the alliance and Istalia. The border controls will be continued and travelling will be facilitated for students of the two nations. Giannino De Felice has given a final speech outlining most of the major points of the discussions and of the memorandum:
What I have just signed, is a sort of guarantee that Istalia and Solentia are not just neighbours, but good and friendly neighbours. Those which one can invite to dinner every now and then and those which you greet every morning as you see them head to work! The First Soldier and I have our differences, but we have aligning goals, which as long as Human Rights are not violated, and sovereignty respected, will ensure a bright future for the relationship of our truly great nations!

Since I am sure the Press is dying to know the details of what I have just signed, I will outline it the best I can. Firstly and probably most importantly, what has been the greatest stain in our relationship in recent years, is the Solentian consideration to join the Consortium Alliance. Hence, I will clarify this once and for all, and if you think about it this is not such a big deal. Solentia is a sovereign nation which we respect. It is their choice to join this anti-Istalian organization or not. However, only because the organization is inherently anti-Istalian , does not mean the members have to be. Just like the MA has its advantages, the Consortium Alliance also clearly has its advantages which lie beyond just: lets annoy Istalia. The most recent example being Badara rejecting the embargo on Istalia. They kept common sense and as long as Solentia keeps it too we have no problem with them joining this alliance even though we would rather have Solentia join the MA or remain neutral in that matter. I would be lying if I said that I would not mind Solentia joining Zardugal and Deltaria. But, like always, we will find our way around it. I truly believe, that in the unfortunate event where Solentia does indeed decide to join, they can in fact mediate some sort of dialogue other than threats and embargos between the Alliance and Istalia. Long story short: Consortium Alliance membership and friendship with Istalia is compatible under the condition that Solentia - as is Istalia - is liable for their actions. So if they decide to provoke us, they will receive an appropriate response just like they would if they would not be in the alliance and vice versa if they are friendly.

I will even go further, by saying that Istalia will continue selling military equipment to Solentia as long as they will be used for Solentia‘s protection only - which is appropriate in light of the terrorist threat - because used offensively, and in the hands of the Alliance, they will undoubtebly be pointed towards Istalia and I will be remembered as the crazy old Prime Minister who sold the Alliance the ropes with which to hang us.

Speaking of terrorism, the bad news is that our respective border controls will have to maintain their extremely high levels of work as long as the terrorist threat is till active. Yes this means more traffic but I would rather drive in traffic than in a hearse.

However, not everything is dark and grim, I will end my speech on the most positive note. We have agreed that starting a year after the signing of the memorandum, there will be a visa free entry for Solentian and Istalian university students to our respective countries during study period for the length of 2 semesters - does not have to be consecutive. All these young people to travel to Solentia or Istalia will just have to bring their passports and a document which will be easily available to receive at all Istalian and Solentian (recognized) universities to their respective students. This document will essentially replace the visa - for students - but getting that piece of paper will be much easier to get than a proper Visa. Trust me. This will be the first step to synchronising our infrastructure because when the terrorist threat finally seizes to exist, our respective governments promise to facilitate travel between our great nations not only for students but for all friendly, peace loving men and women of Solentia and Istalia. Then of course, will we engage in the Solentia-proposed joint infrastructure programmes which would enhance road, railroad and sea connections to further faciliatate travel. Its a shame that I will no longer be around to see that, but with the first stone towards that bright future being laid today, I believe that by the end of this century, Istalia and Solentia will be more than neighbours. We will be family.

I thank once again the First Soldier and the wonderful people of Solentia for the invitation and for being wonderful hosts. I hope that our efforts today will lead to greatness of both our nations tomorrow!

Later that day the Istalian Head of Government flew back to Romula to brief the cabinet about the fruitful visit and to prepare himself and the National Democratic Party of Istalia for the upcoming General Elections in which the PND hopes to win big!

The Corriere will keep you updated like always!

Morandi: "It's time for the left to present its proposals"
After almost a decade of National Unity Governments, President Verde presents a center-right government while the Radical Leader wants to recompose the center-left around ambitious programs

ROMULA - From Viale delle Vittorie, the National Spokesperson of the Radical Alliance, Alessandro Morandi, has called a press conference to comment on the center-right government presented by President Anna Verde and who will see the National Democrats sit in the Council of Ministers with the Liberal Democrats and the Farmers' Party.

After two long governments of National Unity, President Verde is clearly pointing to the end of the long period of terrorism in Istalia by proposing a political executive reflecting the majority won by the center-right in the last parliamentary elections.
The leader of the Radicals therefore did not hesitate to launch the challenge to the next government and the center-right, publicly asking numerous questions about what this new government intends to do and what measures it will take to deal with the various challenges facing the country.

These are the words of Morandi:

These long years of Lead are now behind, Istalia is really starting to breathe and live more peacefully, but that's why the attention is finally returning to the social and economic problems that is facing the country, problems that absolutely must not be ignored because the latter are precisely at the root of social hardship that has led to the dangerous political radicalization of which we have been victims.

The economy has recovered, it is true, but we are far from the performances previous the crisis of the first half of the century and even today we are victims of a higher than average unemployment rates that have become almost chronic and structural. From this center-right government I do not foresee any stimulation to improve the situation unfortunately. And when I speak of stimulation I mean investments by the State and measures to encourage and channel private investment. In order to do so, the State must first take decisively in its hands an organized aprogram of important public projects, and I am skeptical in seeing the next government acting in this direction.

I think it is now time for the center-left to reassemble around a clear and precise political program for the country and think to concretely improve the quality of life of our citizens. In the past years the Radicals have already broadly discussed with the allies about different measures to be taken to stimulate investment and promote employment and now it is time to unveil these plans to be ready to take the reins of the country at the next elections.

The opposition benches have already presented a law in parliament to restore direct state funding to national public works programs. Presenting the law the Deputy AR Stefano Riotti has made several proposals for major infrastructure projects that the left had already proposed during one of the last electoral campaigns preceding the National Unity governments that could be pursued by funding a national program coordinated by the State, such as the increase of the maritime connections and the relative infrastructures between the Istalia, the rest of Majatra and therefore the south of Seleya as well as energy projects and infrastructures for the connection between Istalia and Solentia.
