The left party becomes the third force in number of votes, gets four ministries and will govern the Padagna region
General Secretary of Il Blocco, Pietro Reggio, after the elections
Jubilee at the headquarters of Il Blocco after the election results, where it was found that there is a political space to the left of the Socialists that lacked representation, as well as all those progressive Republican voters who felt abandoned.
In the elections held in April 4506, the party founded by former astronaut Pietro Reggio has managed to break into the Assembly of Istalia with 96 seats and more than 4.5 million votes, which makes them the third political force by number of votes (just behind the Socialists and the Conservatives), although not having achieved a seat in either Trivendito or Sarregna has taken their toll, giving them a seat less than the National Republican Movement. In spite of this, at the party headquarters everything was joy, after finding that the Socialists, to stay in power and form a progressive government, would have to agree with them, making it to the government barely three years after its founding, in addition to having achieved the government of the Padagna region, where they won almost 40% of the votes and will govern supported by the Socialists, with whom they make up more than 70% of the votes issued in the region.
That's how it went. The Socialists, who classify Il Blocco as a "preferential partner", began the contacts immediately, and the structure of the new government was defined in a short time. Thus, Il Blocco becomes part of the government of Istalia occupying the ministries of Health and Social Services (Maria Tirso), Education and Culture (Pietro Reggio), Food and Agriculture (Virginia Trigi) and Environment and Tourism (Carola Vani). In this way, Secretary General Mr. Reggio, appeared before the media after the approval of the new composition of the government to make a statement:
"First of all, thank you very much to all those people, more than 4.5 million people, who decided to trust us, a party with just three years of life but that we hope will be many more years. It willbe an honor for me and for the rest of the party's comrades to be able to represent the citizens in the Assembly of our nation, where we will fight for the rights of all. It has been proven that there were some orphans who did not know who to vote because they felt that nobody represented them, and when we announced my withdrawal from the Space Agency of Istalia to enter politics, I did so with the conviction that we can build a better future together, and I remain fully convinced of it. But we have to work hard, and I can personally ensure that my colleagues and I will work hard to make it happen.
We have decided to accept a coalition government with the socialists because we think that, in the current situation, it is what most benefits the citizens. A progressive government, where we grant the necessary majority to make it so. To reach this agreement, we have already transmitted to the Prime Minister the central axes of our program: greater federalization of Istalia, granting more power to the regions in the face of the recentralization that some political parties intend; increase investment in health, education and science, to carry out programs and measures aimed at placing Istalia at the forefront of these three issues and to become a global benchmark; as well as carry out the protection of LGBT rights and of women. Similarly, we have also informed him of our disagreements, mainly those related to military issues, where we will not support any indiscriminate attacks against third nations, where the lives of civilians are at risk, and without all the rest have been exhausted tracks; as well as our firm commitment to republicanism, so that the members of the government belonging to Il Blocco will not take part in any act that has to do with extolling or promoting the figure of the Head of State not currently elected.
