Pro-Istalian demonstrations unleash all over the UnionFollowing elections showing increasing support for unitarists the last leaders of the anti-istalian movements definitively lost their influence and grip on the country and now the ribirth of Istalia is only matter of time8 November 5073Massive demonstrations have broken out across the country for several days already and literally millions of people have invaded the squares and streets of major cities, dyeing them blue, green, white and red.
After more than a decade of collapse of the consensus for the secessionist and anti-Istalian forces, proven first by the dissolution of the Quanzarian League, heir to the Quanzar Independence Movement responsible for the dissolution of the last Istalian state entity, and therefore by the growing consensus earned by the unionist and pro-istalian Identity and Unity party, which was reconfirmed in the past elections once again at the head of the Government, today the tensions, the anger but above all the hopes of a people that over the years has found more and more unity finally exploded triggered by the manifestations of joy for the dissolution a few days ago of the other great anti-Istalian and indipendentist political force, the Popular Front of Alaria.
Celebrations by opponents to the FPA and IeU supporters soon prompted millions of citizens across the Union to take to the streets to express growing dissent for the state of the country and for the Union of Quanzar and Alaria, now openly called a bizarre and unnatural experiment, mere expression of dissatisfaction and anger against the latest, and alas failed, Istalian republic rather than the expression of a genuine and rooted sentiment supported by historical and cultural justifications.
The headquarters of the municipalities of large cities as well as small provincial villages, as well as the offices of public administrations, bodies and law enforcement agencies were occupied by crowds of celebrants who aimed to tear off the Union flags to hoist flags of Istalia, for the overwhelming majority they were flags of the Empire, for years seen as truly the last Istalian regime embodying the principles and values that for centuries have characterized the country and its people while very few flags of the sixth Istalian republic have been seen, a republic that over the years it has become actually a one-party regime dominated by the clerical and extremely conservative Istalian National Party and which, according to many, was the germ that led to the fall of Istalia with its extremely devolutionist policies.
In the Community of Quanzar, the radical pro-unitarian and pro-istalian President Rodolfo Spada was truly the first of the most important positions in the Union to declare his total support for the demonstrators and indeed it was himself in person who at the seat of the Community's government appeared on the balcony from which the flagpole of the state flag emerges to remove that of the Community and hoist the Imperial flag.
Soon after, therefore, covened the Assembly of Quanzar, the local legislature, with crowds cheering around the seat of the Assembly praising Spada and the unitarist majority, Spada presented the proposal, voted almost unanimously, to abolish the Community of Quanzar and establish the Istalian Sarrentine Community for, in the words of President Spada, "
get rid of a name that, despite the attempts at historical revisionism of the last few disastrous decades, for centuries and for millions of people in the country has been synonymous with repression, dictatorship and cultural and ethnic eradication", obviously bringing to mind the three authoritarian regimes of the
Hessexian monarchy.
Further images of the celebrations all over the countryIn Alaria, the President Annamaria Sigonela also declared that it is now evident the need for a change that brings the country back on the right tracks of history but at the same time has made no secret of caring for Alaria's autonomy and identity, wanting to defend its particular situation which has taken root on the island, a tendency that the island sections of Unity and Identity have never hidden to support. For this reason Sigonella, convened the Parliament of Alaria, proposed the reform of the Republic in the Autonomous Istalian Community of Alaria, a proposal voted in favor by the majority which was followed by a communication sent to the central government of the Union in which it was underlined the intention to defend the autonomy of the island regardless of the decisions that the central government would have taken.
The central government led by Ahmed Sarjani, in fact, has remained rather silent in these days of demonstrations, focusing, as transpires from corridor indiscretions, to weigh and analyze the situation trying to probe the popular mood and determine how the demonstrations were going to develop.
Finally, this morning, President Sarjani appeared in front of the cameras for a speech to the nation in which the decisions made by the federal government were announced:
My dear and fellow Citizens,
once again our country is crossed and shaked by demonstrations and protests that are questioning the foundations of our current identity and society.
This time, however, unlike forty years ago, it is not anger and feelings of division that fuel this tide but there are feelings of joy and national and cultural pride, feelings of rediscovered unity and cohesion, it is the voice of a people who finally, free from the propaganda of populists, revisionists and deniers, has rediscovered the awareness of his identity and of the roots and common values that have always united it.
As leader of the Identity and Unity party, I cannot but rejoice in finally seeing the country that our fathers knew and that was taken away from us by radical forces of fanatics who worked to break our temper and erase our true identity.
Despite the attacks and the infamous criticisms full of lies that those same fanatics have thrown at us for decades, we have not given up and we have not given up on defending the historical memory of our beloved country, we have never stopped professing the unity of our people always emphasizing what unites us and rejecting instead those ideologies that did nothing but seek and magnify what divides us.
Our decades-long efforts have not been in vain and finally today we have the opportunity to leave behind us four long decades of divisions, ethnic eradication and historical revisionism.
And on this occasion I cannot fail to praise e remember Giovanni Maria Brunori della Scala who, despite the different economic and social views I had with him, I never fail to consider the veritable father of the istalian resurgence, the one that for decades lead the efforts to defend and protect our true identity and that he would have been the proudest and happiest to witness all this if he was still among us.
As President of the Union, however, first of all it is my duty to invite you my dear fellow citizens to calm down and avoid actions and gestures that could endanger your own fellow citizens.
Because I am here today to talk to you and to reassure you that I cannot fail to take note of this situation, take note of the popular will that is animating these massive demonstrations and in telling you that this government and I will not back down from acting and from respond to these claims.
In fact, I announce to all of you today that I have already signed the decree to dissolve the current Federal Assembly and organize new general elections to be held the next month in order to elect a Constituent Assembly that will have the task of defining the new identity and the new institutional structure of the country.
With this decision, the federal government and I, fully supported by the majority of the Assembly, now want to give the floor to the people and put the fate of this country in the hands of the people.
Regardless of the outcome of these constituent elections, what is certain is that what will ensue can only be the reaffirmation and rebirth of the freedom and principles of democracy that have always characterized the true soul of this people and its long tradition, a decision that in any case will lead to the creation of a democratic government which will be expression of the people, which will defend their unity and identity and which will always work for the good of the people and this great country.
Thank you
In the afternoon, therefore, the Federal Assembly was convened to vote the decree dissolving the Assembly and organizing early elections by President Sarjani and after brief debates that focused more on the modalities and timing of the elections, finally the proposal was voted unanimously and it was announced that the elections for the Constituent Assembly will be held on February 15th.
Following the President's speech to the nation, even before the Federal Assembly met, the rumors on social media and the statements of politicians as well as ordinary citizens have multiplied hour after hour with proposals, hopes and requests that have begun to accumulate.
What emerges from the first analyzes is that requests for the maintenance of a certain form of autonomy and insular identity came from the island of Alaria, an idea, as already mentioned, which has always been supported also by the local IeU sections, but always and in any case within and united with the future state entity that will take over the country and aware of its istalian identity and indeed proud of the fact that traditionally the island of Alaria has always been considered the true cradle of the istalian civilization.
Feelings of support for the maintenance of a partly decentralized structure also come from the continent although in the Peninsula the population is much more split with at least half of the population which instead supports a much more centralized regime that can promote the rediscovery and enhancement of a unity and an internal harmony that during the last decades has been put in crisis as the divisions grew between the Istalian ethnic component and those of Majatran and particularly Solentian origin. Among the major proponents of a unitary and centralized regime are the Majatran Istalians who have declared themselves to be among the most affected by the increase in ethnic tensions under the Union and who have the firm will to fully rediscover the integration and cohesion that they knewn for centuries with the rest of the population, in spite of the historical revisionism perpetrated by the most radical fringes of the anti-istalian movements.
With regard to the Solentian community, on the other hand, considered as the hard core of Quanzarian autonomist movements, during these days of protests and demonstrations many citizens belonging to the community have been seen leaving their homes and businesses to leave the country in a hurry fearing repercussions, moving goods and belongings to the abroad, and they are mainly Solentians of recent migration and with an artanianized background, a member of a Solentia that has no longer existed for at least two centuries and who, among the various countries they had moved to, had chosen Istalia as privileged destination, while the citizens of Solentian origin of Majatran descent over the years have gone to be absorbed by the Majatran Istalians, a phenomenon that has grown in the last two decades also driven by the desire to distance themselves from the rest of the ever more despised pro-quanzarian solentians.
With regard to the form of state, therefore, the country will probably continue to be characterized by forms of decidedly stronger administrative decentralization than in the past Istalian regimes, while regarding the form of government there is much more agreement among the population, even if only looking at the vast majority of istalian flags flaunted that are those of the Empire, as already mentioned seen as the last true regime to keep high the values and principles of freedom and democracy of the country that the last republic had instead failed to defend and promote. But if on the continent the support for the old monarchy is decidedly more widespread, Spada himself already in the afternoon today openly exposed himself in support of the Imperial restoration, on the Island of Alaria at least 30/35% of the population instead openly declared to be in favor of a republican regime.
What is certain, however, is that without too many doubts the Union of Quanzar and Alaria will soon be only a thing of the past and that the Istalian identity will soon be fully restored.
