MNR GROWS AS ALTIMARI EXPANDS REACH
Image
The MNR has soared in recent national polls, passing the threshold of 15% in most polls for the past few weeks. This has been in large part to the social media presence of party General Secretary Pietro Altimari, whose live-streams of his daily activities where he talks about the MNR’s stances on the issues have led to high publicity for the party. Altimari, the 34 year old former journalist, has seen his favorability numbers jump as he accuses the governing coalition of being communist and Prime Minister Paolo Torso of being a fool. Elections are still over six months away but the MNR has moved for early elections after the disbanding of the PRL.

New Political Party

In March of 4603 Constantino Gabrielli announced that he would be forming a new political party, the Partito Conservatore Nazionale (PCN). Constantino said that the PCN was formed to represent Istalian conservatives who supported the monarchy. Constantino would go on to say that the supporters of the Istalian monarchy deserved a more conservative and electable choice than the big-tent ANI who have been unable to win any elections in decades.

The Left Bloc is launched
Former astronaut Pietro Reggio is behind the creation of the new ecosocialist and republican party

Left: Pietro Reggio as an astronaut; right: Mr. Reggio announcing his new party

This afternoon, the former astronaut of the Istalian Space Agency Pietro Reggio announced at a press conference the launch of his new party, known as the Blocco della Sinistra or Il Blocco (Left Bloc), a party that, according to his own definition, "will have an ecosocialist, progressist, feminist and republican ideology", in order to group both the voters who reject the monarchy but who do not identify with the right, as well as the progressive voters who see as the only left party of the nation does not satisfy their ideological needs.

"We have arrived to stay," said Mr. Reggio, 51, who has traveled to space up to four times in different stages.

"I have great respect for the institutions and for our nation, but I still remember, as a teenager, the Republican era, and for me, living in a monarchy, however parliamentary, seems totally anachronistic. In the same way, I think that the existence of a single left-wing party in Istalia is harmful, since it is statistically impossible to represent all progressive sensibilities, while the right is represented by several parties and this means that more potential voters go to the polls to deposit the election ballots in their favor. It's time to change that. "

Mr. Reggio has announced he is "excited" by this new stage in his life, in which he intends to give the best of himself and collaborate with the political forces of the nation to "build a better future for all."

The political party has already begun to propose its first laws in the National Assembly, in relation to surrogacy, the nobility titles or the army.

"I want to build a pioneer nation in science and education, where the true meaning of social republicanism is fulfilled and where all citizens, regardless of their ethnicity, religion, sexuality or gender, doesn't feel discriminated."

Gianni Almirante hospitalized
National Alliance's leader suffered a stroke during a session of the National Assembly

18 December 4603

ROMULA - This moorning the deputy Gianni Almirante has been rushed to hospital after he suffered a stroke in the National Assembly Hall, during a session of the parliament.

Secretary Gianni Almirante had just presented to the parliament the Energy Reform Act by ANI 30 minutes before he got sick, and while he was hearing the comments by the colleagues, he walked away the Hall but then fell on the ground just outside the doors, rescued by the ushers.

One of the two ambulance allocated to the National Assembly immediatly took away Almirante bringing him to the close St. Maurizio Hospital where he was hospitalized in the ICU. His conditions are currently in sever prognosis. No other info were released by the doctors.

Now there are unrest and concerns within the National Alliance, for years dominated by Almirante which actually prevented the rising of new and other exponents, within the parliament Hall as well as before the press. Who will talk with the press? Who will lead the parliamentary group and will talk in behalf of the party? Actually, many rumors arosed in the aftermath of the last eelctions, many criticism for Almirante and some decisions which damaged the party and its visibility.
Could be the good opportunity for ANI to "free" itself from Almirante?

Many supporters interviewed by the Press declared that they feel the party must change, new faces to challenge the new political situation of Istalia and to compete with the republicans party as well as with the Monarchical ones, which which, however, an alliance could be welcomed.

Obviously the Corriere d'Istalia wishes to Mr Almirante a quickly recover.

Almirante resigns due to his health conditions: the Congress will chose the successor
The task of the party delegates won't be easy because nobody seems suitable for the role but the new leadership is not the only issue to be debated

28 January 4604

ROMULA - It was confirmed this moorning: Gianni Almirante, long lasting leader of the National Alliance for the Empire, officially resigned from the leadership of the party due to his health conditions. He suffered a heart attack and the doctors recommended not to work and not too much stress, recommendations which collide with the role of political leader.

From the party headquarter in Romula, a spokesperson of the party met the press announcing that the regional leaders of the party agreed in call the Congress within three months. The task of the delegates from all over Istalia won't be easy. In fact, at the moment, nobody seems suitable to succeed to Almirante but what is certain is that many local sections of the party are organizing themself to present a motion to the Congress with which enforce a term limit to the mandate of the National Secretary.

The choice for a new leadership, however, it's not the only issue which will be debated during the Congress. Actually, the party left many supporters and delegates, both due to Almirante attitude and the enlargement of the istalian political landscape and the big tent ANI is loosing its souls: the progressists highly criticized Almirante before the elections for his support for restrictive measures proposed by the Republican Nationalists, many conservatives are openly approaching the monarchists of the National Conservative Party while the liberals expressed their disappointment for Almirante after the elections, seeing many liberal voters support instead the newcomers of the Republican Nationalist Movement.

"Now the party, as declared by the regional secretary of Mezzodiurno Valerio Proietti, must find its dimension within an enlarged political landscape and demonstrate to Istalians that there is still place for the National Alliance in Istalia".
The regional secretary of Sarregna Laura Medde, instead, already declared that "the Alliance should approach as soon as possible the National Conservatives now that new republican political forces are emerging and that the party shall not forget to continue to stand for and defend the Imperial Order".

Grand Princess of Crown pregnant: Josephine admitted to hospital with acute morning sickness
The heriditary Imperial couple is expecting a baby, Quattroregni Palace announced today

12 June 4604

ROMULA - The Grand Prince and Grand Princess of the Crown are expecting a baby, according to an official statement just released by Quattroregni Palace officials, who confirm that the Imperial Couple are adding an imperial boy or girl to their mix. The Gran Princess is understood to have found out last month that she was pregnant, and had not intended to go public with the news until she was at least 12 weeks pregnant.
But after Princess Josephine has been admitted to the hospital for Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a very acute morning sickness, which requires supplementary hydration and nutrients, the Grand Prince and Princess decided to make the announcement early to avoid any speculation about her condition through their official website:

Their Imperial Highnesses the Grand Prince and Princess of the Crown are very pleased to announce that Grand Princess is expecting a baby.

The Emperor, the Empress Consort, the Grand Princess Eleonora, the members of both the Imperial Houses of Istalia and Hulstria are delighted with the news.

The Princess was admitted this afternoon to Deodato II Polyclinic in central Romula with Hyperemesis Gravidarum. As the pregnancy is in its very early stages, Her Imperial Highness is expected to stay in hospital for several days and will require a period of rest thereafter.

The official statement of Josephine's pregnancy represented a very glad news for the Imperial House and comes after an exhaustive set of baby rumors that have dogged the couple ever since their Imperial wedding in 4598. The new Imperial baby will obviously be the first for Nicola and Josephine who admitted to have pursue a medical treatment due to hormonal disfunction in Her Highness the Princess which made difficult to her to get pregnant.

He or she will be Emperor Alessandro I's first grandchild and Grand Princess Eleonora's first niece or nephew. Imperial sources refused to say how many weeks pregnant the Princess is, but confirmed she has not yet reached the 12-week stage.

Corriere d'Istalia presents its biggest congratulations to the Palace.
