Secnatiel's words echo through Lourenne as the Great Orinco Movement begins

Image
Orinco-Lourennians throughout the country have been praising Secnatiel's speeches as "a gift from the gods"

Since her great speech in April, the Orinco population in Lourenne have been politically active to help elect Akna Secnatiel to the Vicereine position within the Lourennais Government. Secnatiel has been traveling Lourenne, specifically the regions of: Louives, Luçande, and Jôviant; in order to rack up votes for the incoming election. Lourennians throughout the rural south west have described Secnatiel as the perfect candidate for the Vicereine position because of her "drive to help minorites, her determination for a progressive economy, and her dream to see Lourenne as a world leader." Secnatiel and her team have been receiving great reactions from all Orinco populations as well as most of the Canrillaise-Lourennians throughout the country. People throughout the country have described her rallies as "gifts from the gods" because of the inspiration and hope Secnatiel gives to Lourennians. The small Canrillaise-Lourennian group that opposes Secnatiel have declared their intention to vote for incumbent Vicereine Germaine and end Secnatiel's chances for election, However, Secnatiel now holds a over point lead over Germaine in early polls. Turnout is expected to be high for young voters and minority voters.
Secnatiel hopes to continue her message on the "Orinco Movement" as she travels Lourenne. Most Lourennians have Secnatiel's message except for the population that still supports Germaine. It is expected that Secnatiel will hold various other speeches as she prepares for the incoming elections in Lourenne which will surely change the nation.

More to come.

Secnatiel Wins Big Election in Lourenne, country back on track

Image
Secnatiel celebrated her election at the Andiron Hotel Convention Hall in Valois Sunday night

After months of traveling throughout Lourenne and heavily campaigning, Akna Secnatiel has won the Crown Representative Vicereine position and easily defeated incumbent Vicereine Noelle Germaine. Secnatiel, of Orinco-Dalehi descent, spread a message of hope, strength, and equality throughout her campaign which in fact helped her gain massive amounts of votes in heavily populated areas as well as rural areas in the south. Secnatiel watched results come in at the Andiron Hotel in Valois with over
20,000 supporters. Secnatiel gave a victory speech an hour after voting ceased and declared that the "Royal Assembly would soon be proposing spending budgets and legislation to aid our country and our citizens." Secnatiel stated that the spending budget soon to be proposed by the Royal Assembly will focus on "strengthening and expanding His Majesty's Armed forces" and "improving the nation's infrastructure, education, and technological sectors."

Secnatiel also announced big changes in the nation's foreign affairs strategy. "Greater partnerships, trade, and military build up will soon begin with Indrala, Dankuk, and Keymon as well as any other nation who choses to begin diplomatic relations with us. Military build up, Technological advancement, and outstanding trade is set to occur afyer Secnatiel sets up a new cabinet and once the Royal Assembly sets up a new spending budget. Greater cooperation is expected with Keymon, Indrala, and Dankuk as Lourenne's military and provisional aid sectors are ready to boom. All Lourennians are hopeful and optimistic about the giant social, economic, militaristic, and political changes that are to shortly come.

More to come.

Hauet Articulates Foreign Policy Vision
Chancellor, in a set piece speech, explains what For Justice! will be pushing for as they move forward in government

Thursday 8th August, 4489
Image

Alicia Hauet, the leader of the governing For Justice! political party and the incumbent Chancellor, has laid out the government's foreign policy platform in a major speech to a crowd of academics and officials at the University of Delaune. Although the Chancellor doesn't usually play a prominent role in policy formulation, many have observed that Hauet, rather than Crown Representative Iktan Chamer, has been "pulling the strings" since her party won a legislative landslide in 4486.

In her speech, Hauet emphasised her party's commitment to the concept of sovereignty as proposed by Didier Pichard, often referred to as Pichardian sovereignty. In Pichard's view, shared by the government, states have a responsibility to protect their citizens from fundamental threats to their security and a failure to fulfil their responsibility should be met with a response by other states. In practice, Pichard suggests that states have a right, and in fact a duty, to intervene when governments are committing genocide, war crimes, ethnic cleansing or crimes against humanity.

Hauet's speech marks the first instance of a national leader publicly offering their backing to Pichardian sovereignty, a concept which has been controversial ever since it was first proposed. While Hauet underpins his analysis with the understanding that the principles of sovereignty and non-interference are based on states acting in the interests of their own populations, criticisms of his ideas have centred on the potential consequences on international affairs if a Pichardian view was widely adopted.

Among Pichard's most vocal critics has been Naruerong Chaipatana, an ethnically Phra academic from Indrala who claims that "the Pichardian view was the basis for the barbaric imperial regimes which ravaged Dovani during the previous millennium". In response to Hauet's speech, he referred to Lourenne as "moving dangerously close to rationalising neocolonialism". The Foreign Minister has given his full backing to the policy, however, telling journalists that the country had a responsibility to intervene- economically, diplomatically or militarily- when horrific acts are being perpetrated by other states.

Avienne Resorts open throughout Hutori and Baltusia

Image
Sutton Winter Resort in Sutton City, Isle of Sutton

After years of nonstop construction and several weather complications, Avienne and Materiaux Souverains have
announced the grand opening of several winter and summer resorts in Baltusia and Hutori. Construction originally
began in 4475 when the project was announced. The team from Avienne and Materiaux Souverians traveled to Hutori
first because of the problems and construction issues that the cold, wintry weather that occurs in Hutori year round.
Construction began on hotels early in the year and outside structures were built near the end of the year. Construction
was halted early in 4480 due to a large winter storm that hit the island of Sutton. While the construction of Suton Winter
resort took place, summer resorts were being built in Axminster, Adelia; Puerto Vallejo, Baltusia; and in New Valois, Sutton.
The summer resorts were built only in the summer. This caused construction times to be extended longer. However, within
4 years the summer resorts were completed.

While the winter and summer resorts were being built, Avienne distributed Avienne products to various airports throughout
Baltusia and Hutori. Small cafes for travelers and tourists have opened in Bekenial and in Johnston, District of Dove. The
small cafe only include Avienne's water products. They do not serve it's mixed drinks or sell facial products that are usually
sold in Avienne spas. The resorts built in Baltusia and Hutori are expected to greatly improve tourism as well as bring in
an economic boost to Avienne and Lourenne. It is expected that over 1 million tourist swill visit all resorts within the first
six months that the resorts are open. The resorts that have been built are below:

    Commonwealth of Hutori
    - Axminster, Adelia (Summer)
    - Sutton City, Isle of Sutton (Winter)
    - Corktown, Falristan (Winter)

    United States of Baltusia
    - New Valois, Attano (Summer)
    - Puerto Vallejo, Santiago (Summer)

TLG Ecologie begins Green Energy Projects in various Lourannais cities

Image
Méridia City Square (above)

For the past 50 years, TLG Ecologie has focused on bringing renewable energy to Lourenne for the bettering
of the environment as well as a boost in energy sector jobs. Most recently, TLG Ecologie was responsible for
making Valois Lourenne's first green city, meaning that the city is almost completely run on renewable energy
such as hydroelectric power, solar energy, wing power, and geothermal energy. However, Valois is not the only
project they have done. TLG Ecologie also managed to power the Golden Valley Technological Sector through
renewable energy, specifically solar energy. Now, after a company meeting in Louives back in August, the
company has announced a large scale project to power multiple Lourennais cities with renewable energy by
at least 60 percent by 4495.

TLG Ecologie picked large urban areas on the outskirts of even larger metropolitan areas as their area of focus.
Their projects will focus on the cities of:
    Montpelier (Lucande)
    Colcomaté (Louives)
    Méridia (Outannais)
    Delaune (Carolleux)
Each city is currently a large, urban area or are expected to become large urban areas in the next 20 years. TLG
Ecologie will be building large solar panel fields on the outskirts of these cities. Each solar panel field will have the
capability to power 3 large neighborhoods in the city that it is powering. Solar Panel fields will be focused more in
Colcomaté, Méridia, and Montpelier. Delaune, will be powered mainly through hydroelectric power and wind power.
Delaune's location in northwest Carolleux makes it ideal for wind power and access to the Valois River makes it an
excellent choice for wind and hydroelectric power. Colcomaté, Méridia, and Montpelier are a challenge to TLG
because of their low to no accessibility to water or wind. Yet, access to solar energy and geothermal energy are high.
It is expected that most of these three cities will be powered at least 50 percent by renewable energy sources
by 4495 and 60 percent by 4450. Delaune is the only city that will be powered at least 60 percent by green energy
by 4495 and up to 80 percent by 4450. Construction on panel fields, water power electricity plants, and wind turbines
has already begun. It is expected that at least 6,000 jobs will be created during the construction process and at least
8,000 after construction. Environmentalist political groups, politicians in the royal assembly, and non-profits have
already shown their support for this great project by TLG Ecologie.

Chancellor meets with Indralan counterpart
Alicia Hauet has "extremely productive" conversations with Indrala's head of government on defence, trade and integration

Thursday 17th September, 4491
Image

Lourenne's Chancellor, Alicia Hauet, has returned from a short visit to Indrala this evening. Seen as an opportunity for her government to continue its liberal internationalist outlook and convince Lourenne's neighbours of the benefits of cooperation, the trip has been perceived by most as a success. Officials are thought to be pleased that the countries' relationship continues to strengthen, following the collapse of the Northern Council and a noticeable shift away from Kazulian influence in Lourenne.

During her three days in Indrala, Chancellor Hauet spoke at length with Chief Minister Lai Haomin of the Lotus Party, on a range of issues. Although the meeting was relatively relaxed, held at the Chief Minister's residence in Tian'an, it was said to be extremely productive, with the two leaders finding much common ground on important issues.

Informal agreements were made to strengthen trade relations and work together more closely on issues of defence and security, though the latter matter was complicated by ongoing disagreements within the Indralan government. Hauet told journalists after the meeting that "Chief Minister Lai has been incredibly welcoming and we are excited about the prospect of further developing our relationship in future".

Before returning to Lourenne, Hauet took the opportunity to visit the Imperial Palace and bow before the recently ascended Emperor Sun Huachen. Members of the Lourennais government, including Foreign Minister Jean-François Gide, are already hailing the visit as a massive success. Speaking shortly before the Chancellor returned to Eroncourt, Gide said "the government of Indrala has shown its country to be a powerful and respectful ally which understands the importance of internationalism".

"I am the Prince's son!" claims 22-year-old college student
1 November 4491
Image
Image
"A grand deception!"

ERONCOURT, Joviant: It’s the secret they have so desperately tried to keep hidden, but as the royal family prepares to celebrate the King's ruby jubilee, five words have rocked the monarchy to its very core:

"Prince Henri is my father."

Lucien Itzamatul Xicara, a 22-year old engineering student from Eroncourt has produced powerful evidence which establishes that he is the secret love child of Prince Henri and his mother, an Orinco woman formally employed by the royal family. The explosive revelation comes shortly after Prince Henri and his wife Princess Ruth celebrated their 31st anniversary.

Inviting Bonjour into his home, Xicara sifts through piles of correspondence between the royal family and his mother. Each of the letters urges Mrs. Xicara to refrain from publicly disclosing the father of her son, either by promising monetary compensation or by threatening legal reprisals against her, as she had signed a non-disclosure agreement shortly after the affair.

"What hurts the most, aside from being rejected by my father," said Xicara through tears, "is that [the royal family] threatened my mother." In one letter, written by an attorney for the royal family, Mrs. Xicara is told that "the decision to publicly disclose the lineage of [her] child is one which will only result in harm, both monetary and emotional."

"I cannot imagine why someone would go to such lengths to reject their own child," Xicara said. "I can only imagine it has something to do with the colour of my skin."

Indeed, there has been a long history of discrimination against the indigenous Orinco community of Lourenne which has been augmented by the backlash to the "Orinco Movement" which mobilized to recently elect Akna Secnatiel as Vicereine. Despite many viewing Secnatiel's victory as an indication of an upheaval of Lourenne's unofficial racial hierarchy, the reality is far from that romantic narrative.

It is yet to be seen how the royal family will respond; specifically, whether they will act on their legal threats against Mrs. Xicara. Lucien Xicara, for his part, is enthusiastic and willing to take a DNA test to prove his claims. Asked what he wants out of his coming out publically, Xicara was direct: "I want to be acknowledged publicly by my father, and I want the threats against my mother to stop once and for all. I have no other intentions."

Princess Léna releases photos with children, Prince Henri and Princess Ami

"Very cute!"

ERONCOURT, Joviant: Her Royal Highness Princess Léna has released a number of photographs of herself and her two young children, Prince Henri (known as Hongxian in Indralan) and Princess Ami (Haimei). The photos show a beaming mother and her two grinning children in casual clothing and striking casual and candid poses, breaking with traditional Lourennian and Indralan portrait standards.

The beautiful family photos were shared on Princess Léna's official WEILAI account with a caption which read: "The Princess of Lourenne and Indrala is pleased to share these new photographs of her family." However, many netizens have noted that the Princess's husband, fashion designer Liu Guanchen is absent from the photographs. In response, the Princess's spokesperson said that Liu was indisposed with business in Indrala, and shall be present in future official portraits.
