Defense Budget Increases, Royal Naval Forces expansion begins

Image
Construction on 10 Delaune Class Frigates has begun in Outannais

The Royal Assembly has proposed a new budget that includes an increase in the Ministry of Defense. A proposed
30 billion LFR increase is expected to roll in come May. With the proposed increase in the ministry, the Minster of
Defense, with support of her advisers, have created a large proposal to increase the total size of the Royal Naval
Forces. A detailed plan has been laid out that will increase the number and strength of the naval forces. A deal
has been established with Industrie Capet-Fouquet and Asvald Gruppen Maritime and Pennington-Reid for the
construction of Lourenne's first aircraft carrier. However, considering no project of significant size such as an
aircraft carrier has ever been built in Lourenne, Capet Fouquet Industries will be sourcing assistance through
the Kazulian firms Asvald Gruppen Maritime and Pennington-Reid. The aircraft carrier is expected to be built at
Orleans Naval Station base in Parmentier. Blueprints of the carrier are yet to be released, they are however similar
to the Indralan Carrier plans. Construction on the carrier is expected to take multiple years.

The proposal has also called for the construction of 10- 15 Delaune Class frigates. The Delaune class frigates were
introduced in the late 4460's and a couple of the were sold to Valruzia for over 1.6 Billion LFR. The Dekaune Class
frigates will also be built in Parmentier, but they will also be built at Le Port D'Artaine in Valois. A detailed second
part of the plan has not yet been released, however, it is expected that the construction of Parmentier Class
Destroyers is expected to be part of it. Other ships are expected to be built such as upgraded Renault-Class patrol
ships and the construction of assault landing pads as well. The Ministry of Defense has stated that once the ships
have been completed "they will be analyzed for effectiveness and tested in the waters of the Anantonese Ocean
all within Lourennais waters near Valois and Parmentier".Construction has begun in Parmentier and Valois on the
Delaune-Class frigates. Capet-Fouquet Industries have not released a timeline of the completion of the ships.
Construction on the aircraft carrier is set to begin next month in Parmentier.

Ministers Travel to Istapali for Key Conference
Lourennais and Indralan leaders lead summit aimed at stopping the rise of hostile regimes across northern Dovani

Thursday 8th August, 4489

High Chancellor Alicia Hauet is leading a delegation of Lourennais ministers which has travelled to the city of Matidenas in Istapali for a crucial summit to discuss how the continent will respond to the rise of radical and anti-democratic governments in Suyu Llaqta, Utari Mosir and Liore. The most pressing concern is over the mass murder of ethnic minority groups in "training camps" established by the Mosirak government, which has so far received minimal response from the international community.

Lourennais and Indralan delegations will be joined by those from Cifutingan, Degalogesa, Istapali, Midway and Ostland. The various governments are meeting in the hope that a unified front from neighbours will send a signal to the regimes in question that their actions will be met with a suitable response. Prior to the conference, Degalogesa and Cifutingan joined Istapali and Lourenne in imposing economic sanctions against Utari Mosir and it is thought that the expansion of these sanctions will be one objective of the conference.

In addition, there have already been rumours of a military response. Ostland and Degalogesa have been faced with an influx of ethnic Kunikata refugees from Utari Mosir and while the latter has largely welcomed them, the former is perceived as far less willing to accommodate the arrivals. Lourenne's government is thought to be seriously considering a military intervention if the situation does not improve but the official stance is that World Congress authorisation would be necessary before any deployment. Security Council authorisation would be difficult due to the veto power of Kazulia, whose recently elected government is seen as sympathetic to the Mosirak regime.

Although the conference has yet to get into full swing, reports suggest that there have already been some important discussions. At their first full meeting, all delegations in attendance agreed to support a multilateral approach to solving the crises and supported the decision of Istapali to recognise the "Istapali Unity Movement" as a terrorist organisation. Led by former members of the now-banned Movement for National Strength, the Istapali Unity Movement is a guerrilla organisation which has sought to gain a foothold in the country's sparsely populated northern regions.

Thursday 23rd February 4498; 19:00

Jennifer Lemaître:
Good evening Lourenne and welcome to the 7 o'clock news on RRCI3, the authority on politics, economics and culture in Canrille. Our headline story this evening comes from Lourenne where a spokesperson for the Department for Constitutional Affairs, the office of the High Chancellor, has confirmed that the government will not be attending the wedding of Princess Marie Helena of Kazulia in protest at the isolationist policies of the country's new government. While the statement reiterated that Monarch would still attend the event as maid of honour, it was clear that this would be an exclusively familial role and that no official contingent would be attending on behalf of the United Kingdom due to "the manner in which this would normalise the current administration in Kazulia". The newly elected Kazulian government has received criticism from across the globe for a complete u-turn on the historic role of Kazulia in international affairs, threatening to veto sanctions against the genocidal government of Utari Mosir by the World Congress.

TLG Ecologie completes Green Projects in Lourenne, 4 Cities now 50% Green

Image
TLG Ecologie Headquarters in Thiers (above)

After years of development and installment, TLG Ecologie has completed their "Green Lourenne" program which
sought to make 4 Lourennais cities depend at least 50 percent on renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric
power, geothermal power, wind power, and solar power. The green city project focused on cities that are quickly
becoming large urban areas in Lourenne or are already at that level but have been relying on traditional forms
of electricity and energy production. The four cities were specifically picked by TLG Ecologie because of their
lack of energy sector jobs and their unusual high pollution levels. those cities are:

    Montpelier (Lucande)
    Colcomaté (Louives)
    Méridia (Outannais)
    Delaune (Carolleux)
The project began with the installment of large solar panel fields in abandoned areas and districts throughout
each city. These areas included empty lots and crumbling buildings due to a failing infrastructure from past
decades. Wind turbines were installed in the open fields and forests in Louives and Carolleux. Wind power was
focused on the city of Delaune because of its year-round, seasonal winds. Two hydroelectric plants were installed
in Delaune as well because of its location on the Valois River. Colcomaté, Montpelier, and Méridia were more focused
on solar power and geothermal energy. Because of these cities' locations deep in Lourennais mountain ranges, their
access to hydroelectric power sources and winds was low. However, solar power is a tremendous factor in the energy
that is available to those cities. All four cities now rely on renewable energy sources for at least 50 percent of their
total energy production.

It is expected that over 15 to 20 thousand jobs have been created throughout the four cities. These jobs range from
administrative positions to facility overseers. TLG Ecologie have gained millions of dollars from the new project. TLG
Ecologie headquarters in Thiers is expected to make an announcement soon on several international expansions that
they have planned for years during the "Green Lourenne" project. TLG Ecologie is expected to expand to Keymon,
Tropica, Baltusia, and more importantly, Indrala. The company is focusing on keeping assets and production materials
stable for a huge expansion to Indrala which seems very likely and very successful for both Lourenne and Indrala

1st Aircraft Carrier, Delaune Class frigates close to completion

Image
Queen Isabelle Class Carrier in construction in Parmentier

The cooperation between Industrie Capet-Fouquet, Asvald Gruppen Maritime and Pennington-Reid for the
construction of Lourenne's first aircraft carrier is paying off as the large vessel is nearing completion despite
seasonal heavy rain. All three firms have been working non-stop to complete the carrier by the spring of 4451.
The carrier is being built at Orleans Naval Station Base in Parmentier's construction zone harbor. The aircraft
carrier is the first of its kind and will be named after the late Queen Isabelle, the former Monarch of Lourenne.
The carrier is expected to be fully operational within the next month after it is completed. The carrier is
expected to hold 28 to 43 aircraft on board. The Ministry of Defense has stated that the construction of another
aircraft carrier is unknown, however, it is likely that the construction of a new carrier would be alongside the
support of Indrala.

Another project in construction are the ten Delaune Class frigates in Valois, Porte Orleans, and in Parmentier. The
Delaune Class frigates are a minor project compared to the aircraft carrier. Seven of the ten frigates are complete
and require months of testing and training. Three frigates still in construction have been halted because of an unusual
weather pattern hitting the northern coast of Carolleux affecting Valois and Porte Orleans, both construction sites.
The Delaune class frigates will be separated and placed into the Royal Navy's three different fleets. By the end of
4500, the royal Navy will have a new aircraft carrier and over 18 Delaune Class frigates to deploy.

Foreign Ministry announces Security Council Campaign

Image
Lourenne's campaign logo

After a lengthy discussion among members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the government complex
in Eroncourt, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to prepare for a bid for Seat D of the World
Congress Security Council. Members of the National Royalist Party and the Conservative and Monarchist
Alliance for Justice! (For Justice) discussed the terms and campaigning methods for the seat.

Both parties will be contacting every nation in Terra for support and essentially a vote. Members of the
Grand monarchist Coalition (FJ and NRP) have stated that Lourenne will be running for Seat D of the
Security Council mainly because of the inactivity and poor work by other nations currently in it. The
campaign's slogan is "For Peace and Prosperity", the slogan was developped by the National Royalist
Party and represents Lourenne's intentions for Terra through the Security Council.

LNS Queen Isabelle at Orleans Naval Station Base, Parmentier, Outannais

After years of construction at Parmentier and in Valois, the Ministry of Defense has announced the completion
of the first phase of the Lourennais Royal Navy Expansion Project. The highlight of the First Phase was the
completion of the first Lourennais aircraft carrier: the LNS Queen Isabelle. The aircraft carrier was not the
only vessel in construction. At Le Port D'Artaine in Valois, ten Delaune-Class were completed 2 years after the
completion of the aircraft carrier. The ten Delaune-Class frigates have been tested under the Lourennais Naval
Authority Committee and have been approved for immediate service. The Ministry of Defense has declared
phase one of the expansion successful. However, Minister of Defense Louis de Vaisselle has stated that the
Royal Navy Expansion is not complete and will be entering it's next phase come November.

For Phase two of the Royal Navy Expansion Program, the Ministry of Defense has proposed the construction of an
Amphibious Vessel and the creation of five Parmentier- Class Multipurpose Destroyers. The Ministry of Defense
has also stated that Phase Two would be the final phase that would require the creation of large vessels, Phase
Three is expected to be released while Phase Two of the expansion program is in progress. Organization for Phase
Two is expected to be the same as Phase One. The new assault vessel will be constructed in Parmentier and the
destroyers will be constructed in Valois. A time frame of 4 to 6 years is expected for the completion of phase two.
