Rebuilding the Confederacy

Postby LCP » Fri Feb 17, 2012 3:03 am

"Tonight, we bring you our special report on the Confederate States of Loudrenne. A small review of the events that lead up to the creation of the short-lived PRP Confederacy and the Rebuilding of the much needed and awaited Lourenne Confederacy."

Lourenne lacked any true government at the start of 3240. This was made evident when the Peoples Revolution Party ran for government, unopposed. With the entire Congrès (currently the Conseil des Représentants) under its control. This allowed the Peoples Revolution Party to change, reform, and manipulate the government to what it thought best for the entire nation.

The PRP's first act as holder of unopposed power was creating the Constitution of 3240, which was enacted December 3240.

The Lourenne Daily Gazzette stated, regarding the rise of the PRP:

"The PRP is a party of wealthy large landholding individuals and they have vowed to make Lourenne a haven for land owners."

"As promised the PRP has already begun massive reforms. The Constitutional Reforms of 3240 will strip all non-land owners of citizenship, eliminate the court system while empowering the Executive Branch, increase the powers of the police and most importantly the reforms in the bill will Legalize Slavery. The PRP has argued that Slavery could provide a massive boost to the economy of the nation while improving the lot of all citizens. It should be noted that if land owners are the only citizens then legalizing slavery may improve their life but only by putting the problems on the backs of a new slave class and lower class that will arise from the reforms. The PRP has vowed to use all neccessary force to push foward. President Tillery has announced he is currently working on a budget plan that will allow the nation to maintain the kind of military that is needed for defense in todays world"

This was a huge step backwards for Lourenne, and officially ended the Confederacy of 3200-3239 (Confederate States of Lourenne). Although no one opposed nor did they dare speak against these radical changes. Perhaps due to the fear that President Tillery provoked upon the populace.

The Confederacy itself wasn't a strong union, and the lack of governance was quite obvious, especially in the late 3230's.

However, The Peoples Revolution Party's Confederacy was short-lived, and by 3244 the government had practically dissolved. Although there was never an official declaration of that.

With just enough 'government' to hold the confederacy in place, the Lourenne Conservative Party was established, on March 3246.

Although the Lourenne Conservative Party was officially recognized, its call for early election was not passed. A reluctant President Tillery did all possible to hold his party together and allow him a longer term in power. But his efforts were in vain and he couldn't hold back the April 3248 elections, which LCP won and soon after the PRP was officially disbanded, making the LCP the only party within the government.

The LCP, headed by Andres Dufonte, proposed the Government Reorganization Act, which proposed the Constitution of 3250 and its subsequent ratification as the official constitution of the Confederate States.

The official government was ushered into a new era with the Cabinet Proposal of November 3249 .

The title of President was changed to Chancelier and that office assumed all previous powers and responsibility of the office of President. The Cabinet Proposal of November 3249, which came into effect in July 3250 inaugurated the new government.

Chancelier Andres Dufonte promoted mayor reforms within his government, opposing those made by Tillery and his government.

The LCP has promised to modernize Lourenne, bringing it beyond the world standards in health, education, and quality of life. With concern of a severily weakend economy, the LCP promises to make it its top priority, rebuilding the economy through international aid.

The LCP also stated its wish to make Lourenne a bigger part in international affairs.

"This concludes today's special report, please join us next time as we discuss further the development of this new Confederacy.

Lourenne Parti Conservateur has made public its candidate for the office of Chancellor for the upcoming October elections. Ellenor Aleir stated her wish to run a second term, even though the public believed that Andres Dufonte would be the one running for elections once again.

Ellenor Aleir stated, regarding her first term in office: "My government has been accomplishing its goals very quickly, however, not all of our plans for reformation have been completed..."

Her cabinet was carried over from Andes Dufonte's government, regarding this Ellenor stated; "I couldn't find any group of people more experienced and well formed than this, that is why I have asked them (the entire members of the current cabinet) to join me in bettering our glorious Lourenne."

However, Ellenor has stated that the only people she wishes to keep, if elected for a second term, will be the following;

Camille Laurent as Minister of Foreign Affairs
Chase Witherspoon as Minister of Finance
Anthony Blanc as Minister of Defense
Erick LeBlanc as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure
Mateo Iridos as Minister of Social Services and Health
Fabricio Cordero as Minister of Agriculture and Food
and Marianne Blondette as Minister of Trade and Industry

Regarding the other ministries, she has stated that she is still searching for the right people to fill those roles.

Ellenor's government will focus of Foreign policy, Agriculture reforms, Education and Health reforms and internal defense.

Early Elections Called

Côte-ouest - The Premier, Éric Maçoise has called for early elections in an attempt to gain a constitutional mandate, as well as the mandate to sign treaties on behalf of the Kingdom. His party, the Front Pour L'Intégrité Impériale (FPLI), currently controls 49 of the 76 seats in the Parliament, one seat short of the required 67%. When asked of his intentions, the Premier said, "The FPLI intends to ratify the International Monarchist Treaty, which would require the control of just one more seat on behalf of this party to pass. Although we do support the Parti Politique de la Liberté, we want to ensure that the treaty is ratified by ourselves."

This move comes less than a year since the last General elections, and it is all but certain that the FPLI will retain a majority. What remains to be seen is if they can capture an additional seat, which may or may not occur. Nonetheless, if the FPLI simply win this election, it is certain that Maçoise will remain as Premier - it has now been over a decade since he was first sworn in as Premier.

FPLI declares victory, captures Constitutional majority

Image

Côte-ouest - The party of Premier Éric Maçoise will be pleased with the election results, initial exit polls can now predict an election victory for the Front pour l'Intégrité Impériale. The FPLI captured 58 seats, whereas the main opposition party - the Parti Politique de la Liberté captured 18 seats. This result has yielded a remarkable turnaround for the Premier, who managed to capture 49 seats last year, just one seat short of a constitutional majority. The Premier is set to remain in power, and there does not appear to be any major change in cabinet roles among the FPLI.

The Premier's office has signaled that the agenda in the coming months will involve the ratification of the IML Charter, a prerequisite to formally cement Lourenne's status as a Monarchist nation. Also on the agenda, several tax reforms as well as social and judicial reforms. This is all in preparation for next years local elections, which will be the first since the last general election in 3302.

Ali Al-Majali goes to Lourenne to Give Congrats to Local Vanguard Party

January 12, 3397

Image

Today, General Secretary of Badara Ali Al-Majali goes to Lourennais to give a speech to the young, new Vanguard nation of the future. This is the first stop on his sercet tour where he goes to young governments of new nations across Terra to make speeches about the wonders of Vanguardism without being asked to do so. Recently, Parti libéral-démocrate and their President-Elect Maël Guillory suffer from the sadly common to Vanguards disorder where parties gain the trust of people, and their votes, but spend most of the time doing nothing until they fade into the blackness of national politics. This recent case of this disorder caused the Coadjuvant Vanguard Party to gain 100% control of their mostly empty Congress. Ali has come to say good job on becoming the main party by default and will speak on how to help this new nation grow greatly under the Communist/Vanguardist ideals.

Hello fellow Loureneans, I have come to help guide you to the ways of Vanguardism and how to help your nation grow into a real power in this witch hunt for greatness and wealth known to most as International Politics.

As you all may know, the previous party in this land has fallen. You have won your true freedom. Not the 'Freedom' that your Presidents and Congressmen all around you said you had. They are all gone, and their banners have been dropped. This great state of a to-be Vanguard land of Lourenne will shine brightly arcoss Dovani. However, this isn't the time to celebrate. Guillory is gone, but is still called your President. Your cabinet is now fill with your righteous Vanguard leaders, but they have much to fix and do. They will be times where you'll need leaders, times where you'll need allies, and times where you'll need your military. But now, you need discipline to fix and rebuild your nation. Discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment.

Your goals are not clear now, but they will be. Their will be as clear as the cloudless skies above us as I speak and you listen. When the time comes, where the goals become clear and what you need to do is in your minds, hearts, and your very soul, grab it. Take your fate by your hands, and you guide it! You guide your density! You guide your own people! Your brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, friends and everyone else you can. Guide them to the greatness you all deserved!

And remember this, my fellow Vanguards. No matter what happens, you will have allies, friends, and supporters in Al'Badara. We will be here, hleping you along the way to this glourious time in your nation's history. Remember that a good head and a good heart are always a formidable combination. Remember that this is your time, your chance to take control of your faith. When your children and grandchildren look inside their history books years from now, give them something to be proud of. Thank you for your time, and the best of luck with your new nation. You have stepped up on the world stage now. Billions will be watching you grow. Give them a show.

To be concluded...

Secularist Insurgency in Lourenea gathers force!

On Lourenean election day this February, a force of anti-monarchy rebels known as the Secular Party intervened illegally in the election procedures all over the nation, leading to 60 of the 75 returned members to His Majesty's Advisory Assembly were of this rebel group. The First Advisor, His Grace Duke Marcus of Oscandir, initially declared the election results null and void. However, he later retracted this due to a willingness displayed by his young nephew His Majesty the Supreme Emperor to allow the rebellion to 'fizzle out' by allowing the Secularists to voice their views in the Assembly. While all of the imperial family have accepted the Emperor's decision, in private many are suspected to worry for his safety if the impending crisis is not resolved soon.

The Emperor is Dead. Long Live the Emperor!

The Secularist coup d'etat is complete. Our dear Emperor, Thomas II, in following with his family tradition, refused to leave the country over which he should rightfully reign, and this has cost him his life. His uncle, the Duke of Oscandir and First Advisor, has inherited those rights and is now recognised by Demitreists as Emperor Marcus I. His son, Prince Louis, has inherited his father's previous titles, as well as the traditional title of the heir to the throne, Duke of Josevium.

Fortunately, in the recent elections, the first under the Secularists' rule, Demitrei loyalists managed to recapture over 40% of the seats, enabling them to block the excesses of the new regime until that day comes when the Demitrei return once more.
