Confederation Falling Apart
It appears that the situation in the Confederate States of Lourenne has taken a turn for the worse. The once promising confederation seems to be hanging on by threads. Presidente Gamarra has assured the people of Lourenne that the situation is under control but many in the country do not believe this. Many ethnic French Rildanorians are beginning to panic as they do not feel safe under Gamarra's regime. Reports of discrimination have been widespread throughout the nation but this is just one of the many problems that the government faces. It appears that Gamarra is trying to tighten is control over each State and has been pressuring State Leaders into forming a full fledged republic. The National Congress has also passed a law granting Gamarra a term of 72 months instead of 60, which have left many questioning the integrity of his leadership.
Representatives from New Kreshar have stated "We have no desire to to form a unitary republican government at this time especially with Gamarra at the helm of the Presidency. In order to make sure our states interests are kept we will may succeed from this Confederation." So, as quickly as the Confederation has formed it may fall and to make matters worse it appears Presidente Gamarra has no intention of finding a peaceful solution.
