International Airwaves Network.
Like Music to Your Ears!

A non-political, neutral international radio broadcasting cooperatives, focused on Music & News, looking to cooperate with national newspapers and radio stations, to create a truly international airwaves network for Terra.

Each and every nations is allowed to participate and cooperate with IAN. IAN lives by and for the people, and also cooperates and receives a lot of help, and specifically, news from newspapers and other media organisations as well. Therefore, as part of the partnership, media outlets are allowed to use IAN for breaking news, special reports and such under the press name of the outlet. Also, a show can be started by anyone, anywhere in the world. IAN itself, although technically headquartered in Ikradon, will seek out cooperation and help other broadcasters with their own show. IAN would be a media cooperative, with no de jure headquarters (sans the de facto one in Ikradon) and with all media independent from each other. In essence, it is all the media of the world, under one banner, the non-political/politically-neutral IAN, providing news and music to anyone who wants to listen.

OOC: This is excellent. We could really do with well-written international/Terran-wide news round-ups like this. I encourage you to keep it going.

OOC:
Thank you both Aquinas and Farsun :) I'll try my best!
And also, if you guys, or anyone else is interested, you guys could contribute to IAN. It's a non-political type radio focused mostly on music, and broadcasting news. At least that's the idea now :D I don't know how it'll turn out. For the world news, I would keep doing it, but both of you could kind of "open up" an IAN station in your respective countries and start broadcasting music, maybe a genre-specific show or something, or news or both!

Also, to everyone, keep updating your countries newspapers, those are the sources of the Morning Mayhem show and the IAN!

EDIT: I moved the first post, so that I can create a home-page and such.

Morning Mayhem

Good Morning Citizens of Terra!

Welcome to the first broadcast of the International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears!

Today is the 23rd of June 3140, and we're live with "Morning Mayhem" in Irtoriad, Dazlon province in Ikradon with your host, Carson Shepard!

Good morning for those awake, have a nice day for those traveling or working or at school. Bon appetite if you are about to have your breakfast, and hoped you enjoyed your breakfast if you already ate! And I really do hope you guys eat your breakfasts, it'll set you up for the rest of the day. Have a cup of tea, maybe some orange juice or hey, even maybe a nice cup of coffee, sitback and relax as I get you up to speed on world news!

[*]In Luthori, Emperor Siegmund I was pronounced dead at the age of 114, with Prince Phillip of Orange ascending to the throne as Emperor Phillip I. Emperor Phillip has condemned Jelbania and it's intervention in Darnussia, while also supporting the Narikatons in the Darnussian Civil War.

[*]In Hutori, Peter Johansson was declared the illegitimate monarch of Hutori. In a vote by the IML, who oversees and approves of monarchs and claims, declared Peter Johannson of Hutori a dictator and usurper of the throne that belongs to the ancient House of Lusk.

[*]In Kirlawa, the ruling DFM party of President Edwin Ferdinand Werthem celebrates an electoral victory over KPJP. President Werthem called it an unexpected success, and stated to the people of Kirlawa that the reforms passed by the DFM is only the beginning.

[*]In Ikradon, Ministers of Foreign Affairs of both Ikradon and Jelbania are meeting and reconciling misunderstandings in Ikradon. Minister Saren Arterius invited Minister Ivan Kennedy and Jelbanian President Imran Zakhaev to Ikradon, after the LP party falsely claimed that genocide was being committed in Ikradon.

[*]In Dundorf, legislators are voting on the passing of a new flag, to replace the Reich flag of 20 years ago. This coming after Premier Erich Steiner and his FDP claimed a big victory in this years elections.

[*]In Barmenia, protestors took the street, marching against asylum cases to cats, who are automatically deemed citizens of the new Feline Homeland. After a speech by the ruling SFA leader Jessica Rochford, many protesters deserted the anti-immigration protests.

[*]In Alduria, Vice-President Bruno Lajoie declares himself President for Life. President Patrick Roberge is seen out of power, after de facto losing power due to a grave heart attack that Roberge is still recovering from today.

[*]In Indrala, the Gao family, led by Gao Ping of the opposition CA, left Indrala and proclaimed themselves in self-exiled, until the ruling IP leaves power. The CP, headed by the Gao family, held a vote and elected Yao Fidel as new party leader. Yao Fidel seeks to maintain the monarchy, and to transform it to a socialist-monarchy.

[*]In Dorvik, Prasident Robert Seiler of the RVP was re-elected and the RVP got the legislative plurality, but the ruling coalition of Kanzler Ilya Titov of the VD, VP and DCP, still maintained a majority. President Seiler and Kanzler Titov have been having disagreements, particularly on Foreign Affairs, and the elections did little to solve that problem.

[*]In Aloria, President Yasahiro Odane of the GPA, who was recently elected, has been assassinated in Aloria. Deputy President Eric Adams takes up the position. As a result, the GPA, who is in turmoil after the loss of their leader, has decided to not field a candidate for President, and will not participate in the next elections.

Those where your news this morning, and now for some relaxing music.
Where going back in time for this one, folks. This song, was first sung in 2884 by Marcus Cavalry, during the Ikradoni political crisis. An immigrant from Kanjor, and having lived in Mordon in the mountains of Dazlon in Ikradon, Cavalry and his band, the Mountain Men, sung this one as a song for the promotion of peace and unity.
Please do enjoy mister Marcus Cavalry and the Mountain Men, singing "Happy Go Lucky Me!"

That was Marcus Cavalry and the Mountain Men, a great piece of music, a fabulous person as well, as I learned. Cavalry opened up the "Union Asylum" right here in Irtoriad, where he helped those who couldn't make it day to day. Cavalry himself would die peacefully at the age of 103 in 2933 in the Union Asylum, getting to see a unity cabinet of the left, centre and right before his death.

Now up next, we would like to go in-depth at our top story of the day, as well as covering developing international stories and events.

Our top story is the ongoing Darnussian Civil War. Imperia Narikaton and the imperial forces have taken the city of Red Stad, the central and biggest hub of the Darnussians and the communists. The Imperial forces destroyed Red Stad, and Emperor Anton III declaring victory and the establishment of White Stad. Emperor Anton III also declared that even if the civil war is over, they shall continue showing their military might to all of those that aided the traitors. Dorvik and Jelbania where the main two nations coming to the aid of the Darnussian Communists. It is unknown if there are more wars to come, but at the least after 17 years of bloodshed in Darnussia, now named the Imperia Narikaton, the civil war might be over.

Other stories in the headline, it seems that Davostan, Hutori, Keymon and Telamon are participating in talks for the Macon Pact, a peace signing between the countries and the creation of a common cooperative pact. The talks have merely just begun, but an early President of Macon motion was turned down by both Hutori and Davostan. And it seems that the peace talks between the Commonwealth, headed by Luthori, and Sekowo are reaching an end, albeit there still seems to be some compromises to be made and some political maneuvering to be done. In Sekowo, the party who worked on the peace treaty still has to convince the ruling party who bailed out on the meetings due to "unrealistic and ridiculous conditions". The military bases are also a point of discussion to be discussed. As of now, the peace treaty would not pass in the Sekowan Parliament.

That's our segment for today, hope to see you again tomorrow morning with me, Carson Shepard, with your Morning Mayhem show, on the International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears!

I will leave you folks with this more modern peace of mastery, by the Young Peace Keepers from Maastricht, Ikradon. This song is called "One of These Days" and has reached the top 10 almost instantly, and in #1 for the 3rd week in a row. Please enjoy the Young Peace Keepers 1# Ikradoni song, "One of These Days"

OOC: The songs where:
Ratatat - Nostrand
Maurice Chevalier - Living in the Sunlight, Loving in the Moonlight
Angels & Airwaves - Shove (Instrumental / No Vocals)
Civil Twilight - Letters from the Sky

OOC: This is great. Obviously, everything the Williamsborough Herald says is carefully self-censored and right-wing/pro-monarchy so it's great to actually have a non-biased news station!

Hopefully, I'll be able to get a juicy Luthorian story out soon!

Radio Free Terra.

Both good, and can be found in the back of this forum somewhere.

HANG LOOSE

Hi there and welcome on the 5th of December, 3140!

I am Jean-Stepan Martin here in Irtoriad, Dazlon, welcome to our show called Hang Loose, where we supply your ears, and body, with some music and information for you to relax after a hard day of work, school, or at home watching over kids or doing housework. After a hard working day, no doubt, there is nothing better than being with your family and friends at home, having some dinner, drinking your favourite drink and listening to the best that the radio has to offer, International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears.

Now, speaking of music, let's get you started with something of this era, by the great artist and writer Thomas-Alexander DeLarge and his band the Star Gazers from the great country of Aloria. DeLarge, a great musican from Aloria, wrote and sung this song, "Shapes and Colours", after his grandfather suffered a heart-attack in 2987. DeLarge, who grew up with his mother and grandfather, because his father was a diplomat and didn't have time for him, wrote this song for Grandpa Jan-Karel DeLarge, for his father, Paul-Johan DeLarge, to start thinking about more than just his job, and more about his family. In an interview he did in 2994, Tom-Alex DeLarge said that even though the song was a great success both in Aloria and the region, it "didn't compare to that first family vacation with his parents, brothers and grandparents", where they visited Dorvik, Dundorf, Kirlawa, Ikradon, Kundrati, Luthori and Rutania before travelling in Aloria itself. The two-month trip also inspired Tom-Alex DeLarge to write more songs about family and life.
Please, enjoy the Star Gazers' hit, "Shapes and Colours"!

A great song, tremendously written, and a nice overall Alorian band. I hoped you enjoyed it.

Now, for a segment we like to call "Our Ears Listening/Our Eyes Reading".

Here is where our audience gets a chance to respond and comment on our show, about our show, about the content of music, or about our new station, that was opened in June of this year. I’ll be reading them from our viewers all over the world. Tonight, I’ll read 4 of them, from Ikradon, Dorvik, Luthori and Barmenia.
ACatLover in Barmenia wrote:The station is excellent. We could really do with well-written international and Terran-wide news round-ups like this. I encourage you guys to keep it going!

#1-Jrnlst in Dorvik wrote: The station is awesome, you guys have all my support and if you guys need help, I will gladly contribute.

X-anon in Luthori wrote:This is great. Obviously, everything the Williamsborough Herald says is carefully self-censored and right-wing/pro-monarchy so it's great to actually have a non-biased news station! Hopefully, I'll be able to get a juicy Luthorian story out soon!”

Lazy-Ike” in Ikradon wrote:Awesome! I never have to buy a single newspaper again! Thank you IAN!

Well thank you, kind audience, and we will keep on the good job here at International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears.
Word on the street is that we’ve already became the #1 Terran-wide radio, surpassing Terran Public Radio, who has been defunct for some years. Hehe, lame joke, I know, but let me tell you one that I myself found funny. Here are some jokes sent in by our audience:
DovaniClown in Hulstria wrote:A giraffe walks into a bar, all drunk and nearly incapacitated. The giraffe falls down on the far side of the bar. The bartender turns around and looks, and then asks “Hey, what’s he doing lying there”, a person turns around and tells the bartender “He’s no lion, he’s a giraffe!”

MrLaugh in Deltaria wrote:Two friends were talking about this and that until transportation became a topic. The first one stated “Every morning taking the bus makes me wonder why I hadn’t kept that old car after all!” The second one stated “Lucky you, every day I have to run after the bus so that I can safe 2 Telar every day!” The first one, quick to respond, then stated “What? Why don’t you run after the trolley then, that’ll save you 5 Telar!”

ArtaniaMania in Dundorf wrote:Three Dundorfian drunks were talking and debating at the bar about the fastest thing on Terra. The first one stated “You know what, the airplane jet is the fastest thing on Terra! I mean, by the time you hear it, it’s already gone!” The second, eager to prove his wit, stated “No, you’re wrong, the light is the faster thing on Terra. When I saw the jet yesterday, my flashlight was faster to turn on than that jet!” The third drunk, not to be outdone, said “You’re both wrong! Shit is the fastest thing on Terra! Last night, I had to go so bad, that when I ran to the bathroom, my pants were already brown before that damn light turned on, and the jet flew over after the lights!”

Haha, those definitely made me laugh. Keep them coming and I’ll be sure to post them.

Now, we have seem to reach the end of Hang Loose. To close out our show today, I’m going to play one of my all-time favourites to play, especially after a long day. This song, from the great artist Arnie Nymeg and his band “The Invisible Youth”, is a song about people, especially the youth, screaming out for help or guidance, and about how that came about, and how people react to it. Youth and puberty are certainly strange times, for all of us. So please, I hoped you enjoyed the show, Hang Loose, with your host Jean-Stepan Martin in Irtoriad, Dazlon, on the International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears. Until next time, good night, and I hope you enjoy The Invisible Youth and their song “Have You Ever Stopped To Wonder”!

OOC: The songs where:
Angels & Airwaves - Star of Bethlehem
Angels & Airwaves - The Flight of the Apollo
Hirokazu Tanaka – Tetris
…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead - Caterwaul

@Duke Matthus, that was my inspiration!

Morning Mayhem

Good Morning Terra!

I'm your host Carson Shepard in Irtoriad, Ikradon, and I hope all of you are having a wonderous morning, having slept well and dreamt even better. Hope you had and enjoyed your breakfast, or that you are going to have your breakfast and that you may enjoy it is well! Welcome once again to our daily Morning Mayhem today, June 24 3142. Let's get you your news for today!

[*]In Hulstria, Governor-General Dionys Ruediger expressed satisfaction at the IML ruling of Hutori and Peter Johanssen, and urges the speedy restoration of the House of Lusk and the Lusk Dynasty in Hutori.

[*]In Vanuku, the PBV retains a plurality but misses the majority, against the CD and the small CV party. CV Chairman and former National Voorzitter Nicholaus van Vogt resigns, and Former Minister Melissa Ottensoen was selected new Chairman. Ottensoen stated a preference to work with the PBV in government.

[*]In Luthori, the church of Luthori declared that the Emperor possesses inherent divinity within his person. The Church also stated that the soul of the Emperor is resurrected and lives forever in the body of the current Emperor.

[*]In Malivia, the Government and officials of Malivia and Dorvik have signed a peace accord during a small ceremony. Both Malivia and Dorvik recognised that they had not waged war personally against each other in the Darnussian Civil War and the treaty was rapidly agreed to. Dorvik aided the Darnussian Communists, while Malivia aided the Narikaton Nationalists.

[*]In Hutori, Prime Minister Viscount Townsend has doubts about the Macon Union, and more specifically on Telamon and their recruitment of Rutania, and their postulation for President of the Macon Pact. HCP members have already expressed doubts about Hutori's involvement in the Macon Pact.

[*]In Al'Badara, the ruling coalition meets it's end, as the dissolution of the BRF has given the LP a de facto majority, as they voted down early elections motions by the MCP. MCP members have called for the resignation of Vazir Joseph Stigler. The LP stated that they don't see any reason in a two-party state for bipartisan cooperation

[*]In Mordusia, Viceroy Thomas Henderson and his ruliung RFP party has announced that they have completed their reforms and now will begin with administrative and governmental tasks. The reforms included mandatory curfews and limits on assimilarion and citizen gatherings and new mandatory DNA gathering law.

[*]In Barmenia, a Catholic Priest, Christoph Dacre, has enraged church attenders by removing all cat-related items from church, citing incompetability of felinism and catholicism. Parish Chairman Stephen Felling is calling for actions, as members of the church are demanding his dismissal.

Well, that was our news for today, and as you know, we also give you music here at the International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears. This song was a hit in Kirlawa and the region, specially in Ikradon. Marcus Delive, born in Indrala, Kirlawa, formed his band, Memories Daily, and wrote several hits that was popular in North Artania, specially in Kirlawa and notably popular in Ikradon and Kundrati. Please enjoy Memories Daily and their hit peace, "Life is Much Better Now".

A nice song it is, indeed. A good band that just unleashed new songs a few months ago, and this one was one of them.

And now for some focus news on our top story.

We have gotten email and reports, and even some informations about Jelbania and Luthori relations. It seems that the statement by Emperor Phillip II has brought division in Jelbania, as LP and government loyalists who supported the intervention called the Emperor and it's statement "war-mongering and arrogant". The loyalists also claimed that the "tyrant" only hates Jelbania because "it is a glorious and free republic, not run by a tyrant monarch". The loyalists continued to argue that "Jelbania made the right decision to intervene, as the Narikaton hordes of nationalists only spells problems for Terra".

I have also searched for anti-intervention Jelbanians, which stated the the government "should've taken care of our own country first before meddling in Darnussia". They went on to state that now "Jelbania may face a bigger war with Luthori", and that that could spell disaster "militarily on the war front and diplomatically abroad". They went on to call for the resignation of the government. Members of the opposition parties voted against the intervention, and are now calling out the ruling LP for it, and the problems with Luthori.

Situation are now tense between Jelbania and Luthori, and all the while that President Zakhaev and Foreign Affairs Minister Kennedy of Jelbania is on a visit to Luthorian neighbour Ikradon to the north.

Boy I sure hope things calm down, there have been enough wars in the last decades, let's try and not creat more.

I am going to leave you with this song, for you to not only listen to it, but to think about it. You know, some people may not agree with me, but I think songs with a message via the lyrics, those are the true treasure of music. Music is supposed to inspire and lift people up, and make them think. That's why I'm leaving you with "We" by the Star Gazers. I'm Carson Shepard signing off, wishing you all the best for the rest of the day. Please enjoy "We" by the Star Gazer, on International Airwaves Network, like music to your ears.

OOC: The songs where:
Noriyuki Asakura - Run to You
Mercy Drive - Memory
Jesper Kyd - Venice Combat
Angels & Airwaves - The Moon-Atomic (...Fragments & Fictions)

And thanks meisme :)
