Jefferies Resigns From Cabinet, Hands Position to Oppenheimer
RECHTENBURG-Today General-Secretary Jefferies announced that he was going to resign from the cabinet, and hand over the position of Head of Government to the current Foriegn Minister, Erik Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer, who has been a leading figure in the UWF, accepted the position and vowed to fight for "justice, freedom, peace" and to "end the oppression of all peoples everywhere." His speech was met with thunderous applause.
Oppenheimer's partner, Henry Wheeling, has been offered the now-vacant position of Foriegn Minister. Several other ministries would recieve new ministers, due to the retierment of several current ministers including the Ministers for the Internal Affairs and Justice departments, Henry de Loop and Kevin Egon.
In other news, several more ESS supporters were arrested today after they were found distributing pamphlets accusing the government of corruption and oppressing the people. In response to the arrests a large crowd of protestors gathered outside the Supreme Council of Delegates, however they were quickly rounded up and arrested by the police and members of the Combat Groups of the Working Class on charges of "inciting a riot, public endangerment, illegally carrying and possessing a firearm and jaywalking.
