Manningham-Buller leads anti-refugees demonstration

Led by their colourful chairman Frederick Manningham-Buller, the controversial National Movement have organised a demonstration outside Parliament to protest against potential government plans to admit half a million or more Indralan refugees from Bianje. The National Movement claimed they attracted 400,000 demonstrators, although the police put their estimate at 60,000.

In his main speech, Manningham-Buller told his supporters:

This has nothing to do with core Mordusian interests. We're not a powerful or a rich country and we can't go around acting like we're the world's policeman, because we're not. This aint our responsibility. Bianje is the other side of the world, I don't even know where it is and I don't care. The Indralans have nothing to do with us - f**k 'em, I say. The last thing we need is millions and millions of f**king Indralans coming over here, taking our jobs, eating their stinking smelly food, wearing their foreign clothes, seducing our women, raping our girls, taking over our businesses, buying up all of our housing. You let just a few in and they take over the whole area. You'll have a nice, decent Mordusian village and then suddenly it'll be gone - taken over. We've seen this over and over again. The good Mordusian people have had enough. It's time for you and me to stand up and tell this government what we think. The open door policy has got to go.

Mordusian Government Releases SME Support Package to Ease the Financial Burden on SMEs

Image

The Secretary of State for Economic Affairs, Camille Bellecour has been working with the Finance Minister, Sylvaine Linville, and Trade & Industry Minister, Velma Keeleigh to release an "SME Support Package" (http://classic.particracy.net/viewbill.php?billid=566172), a mini-budget that includes increasing funding to the SME Support Fund established by Simon Bouchard during his short tenure as Prime Minister and cutting the corporate tax rate to 20%

The Association of Small Businesses & the Self-Employed, which endorsed the Liberal Union in the last election, has endorsed this package, saying that it "provides much-needed tax relief to SMEs" and that "this coalition understands that small businesses are the backbone of Mordusia's economy"

However, they also had complaints, saying that "20% is still too much for many small businesses to pay. A corporate tax rate of 18%, or even better, 15% or 12%, would help SMEs to stay up and running"

The public seems to endorse this idea, with an astounding 64% of responders to an MPoll poll saying that they support this idea, with only 19% opposed to it.

Manningham-Buller challenges Valruzian General Prosecutor to duel

Image
Duelling is legal in Mordusia, although very rarely practised

Populist rabble-rouser Frederick Manningham-Buller has dramatically challenged the Valruzian General Prosecutor to a duel in response to that gentleman's office issuing an order for his arrest.

"I don't know who this Valruzia b**tard thinks he is," Manningham-Buller told a local radio station. "If he wants to take me out, he should come here to Mordusia and settle this the traditional way, man to man. I'll duel him. That way we'll have justice. So c'mon, Mr. Prosecutor General, you corrupt Valruzian slimeball. If you're a man and you're not a coward, come to Mordusia and duel me."

Manningham-Buller's National Movement later issued a statement confirming the challenge, and also describing Valruzia as "a rogue state, intent on suppressing freedom of expression not just within its own borders but in other countries as well".

Duelling is technically legal in Mordusia, although it is rarely practised and is socially discouraged. However, the duel does have deep roots in Mordusian culture, and this could be seen recently when MPs voted against criminalising it.

SOCIALIST PARTY FORMS CARTEL WITH SPIRIT

The social democratic Socialist Party and the progressive liberal Spirit have announced that they will form a cartel for the 4385 General Election.

SP leader and Prime Minister, Elijah Spring said that
This is a step forward for progressive forces in Mordusia! I have been in talks with Spirit about a cartel between our two parties and I am proud to say that talks have been successful. Let us move forward, for the good of Mordusia!

The move was approved by 68.3% of SP members in a postal vote and 73.4% of Spirit members, using the same method.

They will sit in the same parliamentary group, which with 107 members, (71 Socialists, 36 Spirit), makes them the largest group in the chamber and follow the same party whip.

Bachelot proposes sanctions against Saridan

Following his failure to persuade Parliament to ratify two anti-Saridan treaties with the required two-thirds majority, Foreign Minister Henri Bachelot has introduced a separate bill imposing a complete economic and cultural embargo upon Saridan which will require only a simple majority in order to pass.

"Mordusia must take a stand with other nations against the pro-slavery, pro-apartheid rogue regime which we in Mordusia are unfortunate to have right on our doorstep," he told MPs.

An estimated 100,000 demonstrators arrived outside Parliament last night, to take part in a vigil, urging MPs to support the embargo.

A much smaller counter-demonstration of about 4000 people was held outside the Saridanese Embassy and led by the fringe far-right activist, Frederick Manningham-Buller. This was a pro-Saridan rally, organised to oppose any measures being taken against Saridan.

Manningham-Buller told TV reporters:

We are assembled here outside the Saridanese Embassy because we want to say to the Saridanese that there are some of us here in Mordusia who understand and respect who you are and and what you are doing, and the difficult circumstances you are having to grapple with. We are saying the Saridan government is a good government, upholding civilisation and order in a territory which could easily be a hellhole over-run by the primitive and savage Iftgoerroon.

I've personally visited Saridan, and the picture that is painted to the outside world of that country is completely wrong. The Saridanese policy of separate development is the only possible way to maintain civilised standards, whilst treating the Iftgoerroon with dignity and giving them an opportunity to develop. And they are developing - they are making so much progress under Saridanese tutelage, it's amazing. I spoke to a senior Saridanese politician who told me he reckons the Iftgoerroon will be advanced enough to be full citizens in as little as 600 to 700 years. So don't listen to the rubbish. The Saridanese treat their Iftgoerroon well. They are the happiest Iftgoerroon in the world.

If you want my honest opinion, the people campaigning against Saridan are doing so because they want to take it over for themselves and impose a liberal politically correct dictatorship - either that or communism.
