OOC: Sorry but this war RP does not have the proper consent and is void.

OOC: Well I didn’t exactly give consent to have a labour camp of mine to get attacked by Dankuk now, did I? Besides, this is all I will do until Progress responds to my message concerning peace.

Mordusia condemns Dankuk, wants to make amendments for crimes against Saridan

Image

New Prime Minister & Imperial Seal-Bearer Cornelia Nixon has made a statement on her cabinet's behalf:

“Dear Mordusians and dear international community.

What Dankuk did the last month was nothing less than bragging about a blatant violation of another country's national sovereignty. And although the story was fabricated, is a huge display of irresponsibility on their behalf. This lie could potentially have resulted in Mordusians cites bombed and thousands of our people dead. These are not the values we Mordusians stand for as a nation. We are a nation that rejects violence and supports a peaceful and prosperous future together with all our neighbors, and this is why the Mordusian people chose us to lead them in the last election.

In regards to that speech made by guests of ours from Tirgunia: I would dearly like to remind them that a lot of people view the international communism that they represent as a much bigger threat to freedom than one single nation which has never attacked another sovereign country, despite being faced with constant provocation like international sanctions and threats of invasion. It saddens me to admit that too many countries simply seem to be unable to tell the difference between agreeing about each country's internal politics, and agreeing to respect each country's sovereignty. If the behavior Dankuk was bragging about would be the norm in international politics, “international coalitions” might one day be bombing the capitals of Dankuk, Tirgunia, Istalia or Hawu Mumu.

For us who represent the Mordusians, we will try to achieve a peaceful future with all of our nations. I would like to thank President Curtis Spencer for all the restraint and willingness to negotiate he has shown towards Mordusia, despite the reckless provocations of our previous liberal-socialist governments. We understand very well that there will have to be some reparations made for the damage we've caused Saridan by sanctions and other hostile actions. I have suggested that we should offer them coal mines in the State of Hosamia as a gesture of good will. Maybe we can develop a fruitful business relationship with our neighbour! And let this be clear: All agents of foreign nations engaging in anti-Saridani activities on our soil now pose an existential threat to our lives and our liberty. They will face the possibility of extradition to Saridan, where they will answer for their crimes against this nation, unless they leave our country immediately. Mordusia is a peace-loving traditionally perpetually neutral country and not some battleground for foreign agents of reckless warmongering.

Lastly: we have never had a lot of blacks here in Mordusia. And our colleagues from that country with the unpronounceable name are not exactly doing the general perception of the dark ones a favor, when they seek to persuade us to take an action that would turn parts of our country into a nuclear wasteland. Both Dankuk and Havu Mumahum risk increasing negative attitudes towards other races among white people if they do not stop their reckless and violent behavior on the international stage. Please stop forcing your ideals upon everyone else.”

"Jaubert letter" appeals to Kanjor to act as "protector of the Mordusian Canrillaise"

Thirty-two respected and prominent but politically unaligned Mordusian Canrillaise citizens have signed an open letter addressed to the government of Kanjor, calling on them to "affirm themselves as a protector and intercessory for the Canrillaise of Mordusia". The letter makes specific reference to Kanjor's Defense of Canrillaişe Culture Act, which commits Kanjor to defend the rights of Canrillaise across Terra.

Mordusia's Canrillaise minority, which makes up 20% of the population, has felt increasingly threatened in recent years due to the growth in anti-Canrillaise discrimination and extremism, particularly with the growth in support for the notoriously anti-Canrillaise National Movement.

The letter has become known as the "Jaubert letter" because the most eminent and respected of its signatories is Alain Jaubert, a geneticist from Talasor State.

Manningham-Buller shocks intelligence chief with assassination request

National Movement chairman Frederick Manningham-Buller provoked uproar yesterday during a parliamentary committee meeting during which the Mordusian Head of the Intelligence Services was being questioned by MPs about administrative structural changes being made to his department. Whilst the committee was discussing a complicated series of budgetary issues, out of nowhere Manningham-Buller asked the intelligence chief whether it would be possible for him to arrange the assassination of Jabril Tutankhmumenhes Turner, Hawu Mumenhes's Foreign Minister, who recently described Manningham-Buller as a "mental health out-patient". The intelligence chief, visibly shocked, paused for a while and then replied "I could not see that as an option". Manningham-Buller then asked "Well, could you try?", at which point the chairman of the committee interjected and insisted the meeting return to the subjects on the agenda.

BREAKING: CAMILLE DUQUESNE CHALLENGES HOLLY GILMORE FOR LEADERSHIP OF THE SOCIALIST PARTY

Camille Duquesne, former deputy First Minister of Sammodra, former leader of the Parti Socialiste du Sammodra, and SP Spokeswoman for Finance, has challenged Holly Gilmore for leadership of the federal SP, citing frequent rebellions by shadow cabinet members who prefer centrist economic policies, as opposed to Gilmore's support of traditional Kodonomics.

“She cannot lead the Socialists. We are falling in the polls and our party keeps on rebelling against itself. We need strong leadership, and, I don't mean to toot my own horn, but I have leadership experience. Thank you, and vote for me to be leader of the Socialist Party”

Some people were questioning whether she could legally run for SP leader, as the PSS is technically independent of the SP on the electoral commission. It was decided that, as the SP and the PSS are in a formal alliance, she could run, but she would have to join the federal SP, which means that Camille is the member of two parties at once.

Duquesne is recognized to be of the centrist wing of the Socialist Party, as opposed to Gilmore's more traditionally social democratic approach. The election is seen as a battle between left and right for control of the Socialists.

Holly Gilmore declined to give a response to Ms. Duquesne's leadership challenge

Polls:
- Gilmore - 50.2%
- Duquesne - 49.8%

DUQUESNE CALLS ON OPPOSITION TO UNITE AGAINST THE GOVERNMENT
By Tom Daily

Camille Duquesne, candidate for the latest SP leadership election, has called on the Socialist Party, the Hosian Social Union, the Greens, and the Liberal Reformist Party to rally behind a single Governor-General candidate to beat Alexis Siegfried.

“This government relies on the support of fascists, I can't say that enough! Every opposition party needs to unite behind one candidate for Governor-General and to hopefully get enough seats to form a national unity coalition so we can end this mess of a government!”

Uniting the opposition might be easier said than done though. The Greens, the LRP, and the SP are all proudly secular parties, but the HSU has long been a voice of religious conservatism. The SP and the HSU generally support the current social model of Mordusia, while the LRP and the Greens are a consistent voice of change.

Still, revulsion at the Progress Party government could make these differences irrelevant as parties race to defend the status quo and consensus-building that has long been a mainstay of Mordusian politics

Canrillaise claims of persecution "ridiculous"

Image

The so called “Jaubert letter” which seems to have stirred up high emotion in Mordusia's southern neighbour Kanjor. Mordusian Foreign Minister Luther de Wald has commented it:

“This letter and its accusations are nothing ridiculous fairy-tales. I am of part-Canrillaise descent and I am a member of the government, mon dieu! I can assure everybody that I am having a great time here in Mordusia and that we are free to do Canrallaise things all the time. There is no need for Kanjor "protect” our culture here. You are just jealous because we have more promiscuous femmes with tiny little mustaches in this country.

We cannot be held accountable for the opinions of the National Movement just because we have a confidence-and-supply agreement with them. They are proud nationalists just like countries where governments declare themselves to be "protectors of the Canrillaise" so those complaints are just plain hypocrisy. Mordusia is a free country where people and political parties are allowed to have whatever opinion they want. Those who need a “protector” can always move to any of the countries to the south if they want to.”
