Suspicious Soldiers Reported in Norwalk

Federation supporters near Federative military headquarters in Norwalk have reported seeing four men recently traveling in the area wearing nondescript military-style uniforms and carrying advanced-looking weaponry. One Norwalk resident told Federative military force investigators that two men matching that description recently patronized the resident's family-run grocer asking to purchase any and all available back issues of News of the Republic. The resident said the men were pleasant, but that their unusual request and a conspicuous black face paint they both wore raised his suspicions, prompting him to contact several fellow Norwalk shop owners who informed him they had had similar requests from unfamiliar visitors lately. Investigators have mapped the mens' reported shop visits, revealing a steady and purposeful route from Norwalk's north coast to the state's commercial center further inland.

Edward Wright Shot by Highton!


Former President: Edward Wright

The former president Edward Wright has been killed by the newly appointed President; Ryan Highton! After raiding the Republican carriage convoy on its way to Norwalk, the Pirland Hill Soldiers captured Edward Wright and transported him to Pirland where he was shot by Ryan Highton himself! Highton has proclaimed Chester to be the new capital however the Federation fights strongly against this. These actions are rumored to be a reaction to the raids of the Federation in Madison. Ryan Highton declares that the Republicans should surrender, proposing they present Samuel Conrad to him as a form of peace deal. He stated:

"Many people are sick of the fighting. I am too but until we can reach an agreement I shall continue to kill Republicans. I will not have peace until Conrad is dead."

Death of Edward Wright.

Leader of the Republican Party and Former-President Edward Wright had been killed. A carriage, transporting him from East Madison to the new Federation headquarters in Norwalk, was attacked by 'Pirland Hill Soldiers', before being brought to Pirland and executed there. This event has caused sorrow throughout the Federation. The memory of one of the greatest Republican presidents Likatonia has had will never die.


Former President: Edward Wright

In response to these shameful attacks, Samuel Conrad has been named the Secretary of Defense for the Republican Party and the Federation. He is now protected by the highest ranks of the Federate Army, to ensure the will of the Union is not fulfilled. Norwalk has begun seeking out individuals with leftist views who may be a threat to the values promoted and fought for by the Federation.

Harvey Wright, the son of Edward Wright, has been selected as the new leader and candidate for the Republican Party. He has promised to personally slit the throats of each and every man responsible for the death of his father. This statement has caused some controversy, but was mostly overlooked because of the recent big events.

Ryan Highton is Dead!

On June 4th 4104, a sequence of events occurred in a valley in West Bolton, that is now being called 'The Valley of Death', which shook Likatonia to its very roots. At approximately 16:00 an attack was ordered by Harvey Wright, for his 12th legion of Bolton to initiate an attack on a Union camp on the other side of a tremendous valley. Though the order was a foolish one, the noble and loyal soldiers followed his word and attacked. Forward charged the 12th legion into the Valley of Death. The Pirland Hill Soldiers camped on the other side were prepared for the attack, and immediately began firing their cannons upon the 12th legion, before sending swordsmen and riflemen into battle. The 12th legion was obliterated within minutes, and the Federation camps on the other side left vulnerable. At this moment, the flaws in the leadership of Harvey Wright were clearly visible. Shortly after the attack was over, Harvey entered his tent, and shot himself in the head, through the roof of his mouth. After realizing that they had no leader, Samuel Conrad took control of the Federation Battalions and called an attack on the Union camps on the other side of the valley, making use of the advanced howitzers and mortars, which were being tested in Norwalk. This allowed them to decimate the majority of the Pirland Hill Soldiers.


War-Criminal Ryan Highton

Next a troop of Federation soldiers were sent into the valley along with Samuel Conrad, to analyze and detain any remaining Union soldiers. Little did they know, a group of about 10 soldiers including 'Ryan Highton' were still alive. This scuffle took out a majority of the soldiers from each side. Ryan Highton decapitated Samuel Conrad, before being executed himself by Ezekiel Carter, former Defense Secretary.

Editor-in-Chief of News of the Republic Found Dead Today

The editor-in-chief of News of the Republic, Federation-held Likatonia's leading broadsheet, was found dead today in his office at the newspaper's Norwalk headquarters. He was impaled through the abdomen with a Federative Army sword, then pinned against the wall behind his desk with a sword taken from a nearby mounted display. His adversary drove the second sword through his sternum, and used the sword to affix a short note, written in a foreign language, against his chest. The note read: "A Mpekarị kenkwesi ndi mmadu ikele ị ijeoma." Indications point to a Federative Army messenger as the executioner. The sword used to impale the deceased and a blood-stained glove found on his desk are both Federative Army-issue. The colonel commanding a Federative Army regiment nearby has reported his messenger missing, not seen since embarking on a newspaper procurement mission before dawn. In a wooded area along the property of the newspaper's offices, picked flowers, arranged rectagularly, were also found, along with a pocket-size Ahmadi prayer book and the front page of a recent issue of News of the Republic announcing the capture and murder of four suspicious soldiers. The head housekeeper of the newspaper's Norwalk office, a Talmorian woman, is also said to have been abducted by the executioner. No trace of the executioner or the housekeeper has been found. They are thought to have fled into the sea off Norwalk's north coast.

Editor-in-chief of The News of the Republic found dead.

Alexander Madison, the editor-in chief of the News of the Republic has been found dead. He was murdered by a corrupt Federation Army Messenger who killed him in his office, using a Federation Sword. This has caused mourning all over Likatonia, where his newspaper is immensely popular. This has also started a conversation about foreigners and religion, as an Ahmadi prayer book and a note written in an unknown language were found. Since the population of Ahmadis and (whatever race it is that speaks this language is) insignificant, there is not too much to worry about, but many Republican Party members are now turning to the Native Party or even the Independence Party, because of their more isolationist policies. LKIP and Native Party votes are expected to go up in the next election. This has also revived the ongoing racism towards Talmorians in Likatonia. The Talmorians were freed after the first Likatonian Civil War, but there is still extreme prejudice and racism towards them in present day Likatonia. These attacks have not scared the News of the Republic owners and workers, and they will continue to make this newspaper.


Alexander Madison, editor-in-chief of the News of the Republic, is a relative of long gone but not forgotten William Madison, who founded the state of Madison.

Jacque Samson Elected President in Infamous Typo

With the last election results coming in it is confirmed that Jacque Samson has won the Presidential election! With a typo on the voting form (JAcque Samson) many voters questioned the voting managers who have recently been executed for their errors. With his new election comes the introduction of the new leader of the Union Forces; Harry Gustavson, originally of Dorvik origin.

Talmorians Persecuted in East Bolton

The rounding up of Talmorians in East Bolton has begun, under the instructions of Thorston Koenig and elements of the Silver Knight Division. There have been some reports of shootings and hangings, however many are simply sent south, across the Likatonian border. Around Metarie, there have been reports of further hangings, mostly of suspected socialists as before, although there have likewise been reports of suspected homosexuals being hung as well.



In the meantime, NLP membership has continued to grow, thanks some believe in part to this stronger showing of force. The NLP is currently the third most popular party in East Bolton, in contrast to other regions in Likatonia, where they are near the bottom of the list. It is expected that, in a few elections, the NLP may carry the entire province.

There have also been rumors that James Herbert, the frequent presidential candidate for the NLP, has been suffering from declining health due to advanced age. The NLP has not confirmed these rumors, nor denied them.

NLP Party Changes; Koenig Hung

Serious changes have come out from the Native Likatonian Party, as they attempt to consolidate their hold over East Bolton. For the duration of the Civil War, they have remained in power, but have found growing hostility against what many perceive to be harsh and cruel measures, largely done by the Silver Knight Division under the command of Thorston Koenig. Riots in Metarie and other parts of the region broke out in response to anger towards the NLP leadership. Kieran Faulkner, under pressure from many within the party, finally gave the order for Koenig and several other Silver Knight Division commanders to be arrested. Before a trial could even be held, Koenig and the other leaders were hung from the same lampposts they had previously hung their political enemies from. Faulkner released a statement to the public, declaring that Koenig had acted unilaterally, and that, while the influence of socialists and "racial deniers" will be monitored and limited, the mass executions will come to an end. The NLP likewise announced that presidential candidate James Herbert will step down, and be replaced by Sophie Brooks, current Shadow Minister of Internal Affairs. Daniel Carter, former Shadow Minister of Justice, will now serve as Shadow Minister of Defense.

Scholars from East Bolton University have said that this most likely comes from the serious drop in support seen among the populace towards the NLP. Shortly after the execution of Koenig and other Silver Knight leaders, support for the NLP has risen again, though not to pre-Civil War levels. Many have also stated that Koenig attempted too early to enforce the NLP's will militarily, over and against Faulkner's more populist approach. Appointing Sophie Brooks presidential candidate is also seen as a move to counter the appeal by many voters of a "female presidential candidate," which worked well with the LKIP candidate.

Talmorians Murdered by Civilians

Thousands of Talmorians have been murdered over the past couple of days in response to trade sanctions on Likatonia, started by Hawu Mumenhes. The Federation and Likatonian Government does not condone these attacks, but in many cases nothing is done to stop them. A militia group calling themselves 'Three-Headed Snake' has been planning and perpetrating many of these attacks on Talmorians. This has caused the Talmorian population in Federation States to drop lower. Furthermore, the Federation has announced that they will publicly execute any and all Hawu Mumenhes citizens traveling or residing in Likatonia.

In the meantime, the Native-Likatonian population has grown while others were distracted by the civil war and issues regarding Talmorians. There have been rumors that the Natives (not to be confused with the NLP, Native Party) are planning an attack on Federative army camps.
