Davostani Protests as Public Hospitals Open

Protests across Davostan have taken place outside nationalised Hospitals.

Image

The Federal Senate recently passed a new bill, stating that the government can open its own hospitals, alongside private hospitals. But, despite the Senate voting in favour of the bill, several protest groups have emerged outside the newly opened hospitals, demanding their closure. Stating that "private hospitals are the way to go and the government has gone too far this time."

How will the Senate respond to these events? Will they repeal the bill? Or will they increase the governments responsibilities?

Conservative-Libertarians Resign
Image
Above: Health and Social Services Minister Debra Mann resigns
Conservative-Libertarian ministers today handed in their resignations over the proposed UDAP "Better Budget" as part of an ongoing dispute in the Senate over budget cuts. The debate is over whether the government should increase funding with the "Better Budget" or reduce it as part of the "Peoples' Budget".

Rently declares his party resignation.

George Rently, leader of the Davostan Nationalist Front, has today declared his intentions to resign from the party before the next election.

Image

The Davostan Nationalist Front recently held a party conference to debate political issues and where the party lies in support. But the surprising event that took place, was George Rently declaring his official resignation from the party before the next election.

He stated that he'll remain leader in till the final few years before the election, where he'll pass the torch to his successor. But who'll replace him?

Candidates for DNF Leadership

Johnathon Colemen
Image
Johnathon is the current controller of the DNF Head of Government position, and the most liked politician in the party alongside George Rently; despite not sharing similar ideologies. He is a firm believer in civil rights and the upholding of capitalism as a prime system. John activity condemns the leaders nationalist and far-right beliefs that have yet to surface in the party, claiming that if George held enough power, he'd turn the nation into a religious patriarchy.

Avis Colemen
Image
Avis is the current controller of the DNF Finance position, she is the respected sister of the Head of Government controller, Johnathon Colemen. Both siblings share a very similar ideology, however Avis claims to be more pro-capitalist and pro-fiscal conservative than her brother. If elected as leader, she promises to focus more on the economy and improving the economic situation with tax and spending cuts.

Stephanie Albertson
Stephanie is the current controller of the DNF justice position. Who promises a more restrictive policy against crime and punishing offenders who deem themselves "above the law", she also actively believes in the crackdown on corrupt and unethical businesses, including slavery, tobacco, drugs and alcohol firms across the nation. If elected as leader, she promises to improve and expand the police force of the nation and give more powers to the police to perform their roles better.

But who'll win the position? We'll find out in several months when the next party conference will take place to vote on the next leader.

DNF declares new leader

The recent DNF party conference has today defined the parties new leadership.

Image
DNF Party Conference, hosted by prominent leader George Rently.

Recently, the DNF party conference took place, where the current party leadership, George Rently declared his intentions to resign from the party and pass the leadership to the next person. Well, the follow-up conference has taken place where a new leader has been defined.

Candidates from all across the party attempted their chances of becoming leader, but only 3 were selected to run in the party-wide vote. Over 1.9 million people declared their vote out of 3 million party members, and we can today, proudly declare the results of the vote.

First Round:
Johnathon Colemen: 36% Votes: 696,045
Stephanie Albertson: 34% Votes: 657,376
Avis Colemen: 30% Votes: 580,037

No majority result, vote goes to second round. Lowest achieving member is eliminated.

Second Round:
Stephanie Albertson: 51% Votes: 986,064
Johnathon Colemen: 49% Votes: 947,394

Result: Stephanie Albertson has achieved a majority result, giving her the position to declare party leadership once George Rently resigns.

With her promise to improve law and order across the Davostan nation, Stephanie Albertson has been declared leader of the Party.

Davostan Government criticise CPT comments

CPT, party in the Telamon government, has been criticised by the Davostan government for their "unwanted" comments

The CPT, a party prominent in the Telamonese government, has recently made several controversial comments about the nation of Davostan that has sparked a relationship concern with the Telamonese.

In response to the comments, the Davostan government ordered the disbandment of all diplomatic relations with the Telamonese in till the issue was resolved and laid to rest, claiming that the CPT have made very arrogant, ignorant and unwanted comments that make the Davostan government question the relationship between the two nations.

The government has decided to release the comments for public display to note the controversial nature of the comments.

"Your nation is weak, and you do not have the strength we do. Your government is tiny, and your financial unit is much less valuable than ours. We have a much larger military, and we might protect you if you would like. Contact our nation if you would like to establish diplomatic relations. We are your neighbors, and you better be friendly to us."

How will the situation progress? Only time will tell.

Davostan-Telamonese relations continue to sink

With the CPT comments and many other issues arising, the two countries are having difficulty maintaining good relations.

With the CPT comments from the last article, causing a decay in the Telamonese and Davostan relations. The governments hoped that the issues could be resolved and the peace could be guaranteed, but its unfortunate these have not be defined yet.

The Davostan government recently attempted to hold a discussion on the issue, inviting representatives from the Hutori and Telamon to join the discussion the CPT comments, unfortunately however, the Telamonese refused or ignored the discussion and never elected a representative to the talks. This caused the Davostan government to close the talks and maintain the Davostan-Telamonese relations where they are currently.

However, a surprising turn of events in Telamon, have seen them debate a "subjugation of Makon". Claiming that their nations military is far superior and worthy of taking over the nations. This has significantly dropped relations with the two nations, prompting the Davostan government to significantly increase their defence budget in case the worst came true.

Davostani Military Officials Appointed... finally

With the recent terror attacks by the so-called "Black Wolves", many lost souls had come out of attacks. Including prominent military leaders, specifically the Head of the Army and Head of the Air Force.

These positions, as of yet, remained empty and acting, interim leaderships took their places. The defense ministry for the Davostani Federal Senate is responsible in appointing the Heads of the Army and otherwise, but due to a lack of someone in this position, the leaderships remained empty for a long time.

But the question we want to know today, and has finally been answered, is who will take the positions.

With the new government cabinet position, including the DNF, SRP, DLP and UDAP, Margaid Rush (DNF) was given the Defense ministry. She, has today declared the new heads of the army and air force.

Head of the Army: Anson Paul
Head of the Air Force: Merton Romilly

Political analysts however, have criticised the appointments, stating that these candidates are both very pro-DNF and supposed nationalist sympathisers. Both dangerous combinations if placed in control of a military force.

The DNF leader, Stephanie Albertson and Defense minister Margaid Rush have however released a statement on the criticisms,
"All candidates for the position were selected primarily on the ability to lead and control the military forces, as well as their skills in combat and tactics. Their political affiliations have not and will not have any interference in the selection process in anyway."

Hicks Strikes Back

A recent Trigunian article has greatly criticised the Davostan government, Hicks responds.

I'd like to note the inaccuracies in the article published by the Trigunia news.

Firstly,
We never proposed in anyway to have talks with the Badaran government. This was suggested by the UDAP. I don't know where the fuck you got this information from, but the DNF did not propose talks with the Badaran government.

Secondly,
Davostan hasn't broken relations with Hutori in anyway, and your absolute disregard of knowledge and care for the political and diplomatic situation on Makon is absent to say the least.
We broke relations with Telamon because they refused to hold talks with Davostan on what needs to be done and how to improve the situation. We've attempted to re-establish a relationship with Telamon twice now, once before the dismantlement of Telamon relations passed and in the previous electoral term. Both times, the Telamon leadership has refused to talk with the Federal Senate about the situation.
I don't know where you got the information on "we broke relations with Hutori", this has never happened nor will it in till we have a valid reason for it. Hutori are great economic and political allies with Davostan and we see no reason to cut ties with them for the foreseeable future.

Thirdly,
We agree that the UDAP votes should be given to the DNF. It would help us greatly, and show the nation what needs to be done to correct this nation that the left have destroyed.

Fourthly,
There is evidence of the Badaran government breaking human rights. They're doing it right now as a matter of fact. The government in charge at the current moment, is an extremely restrictive party. And have proposed barbaric laws, like the oppression of women and LGBT communities (not that Trigunia gives a shit anyway), the advancement of slavery and the requirement that all Badaran citizens must be of Ahmadist religion, regardless of anything. This is pure insanity, that the Davostan government, the DNF and various international nations, cannot and will not support. If the Trigunians are ignorant to the fact of the oppression that exists in the Badaran government and the nation, then god have mercy on their souls.

Kimmy Hicks, Leader of the Davostan Nationalist Front speaks to the Federal Senate and the DNN on the Trigunian ignorance proclaimed in the article.

Food Industry Boycotts Davostan

Major food retailers and suppliers have begun a national boycott in protest to recent legislative action.

Image
Many famous, large and small food retailers and suppliers have today begun a national boycott of their services to the people of Davostan out of anger towards the recent GMO ban, many retailers and suppliers of food and otherwise have closed their shops for the next few weeks to either protest the change and/or adapt their services to remove GMO products.. The retailers that have chosen to boycott the nation have detailed that they will not be selling or distributing any products in till the law is reverted and the suppliers that are also boycotting have told us that they won't be supplying any retailer with their products either. We secured an interview with a major food retailer in the Kevonia state, Food Inc. with their Head of Public Affairs and Relations officer, Salih Elmer.

Salih Elmer: Our company is a major distributor of the most loved foods on the market, but unfortunately, with the passing of the GMO ban by the Federal Senate, we cannot sell anything anymore. All of our products, in someway, use GMOs in their creation, and because of the ban, we can no longer supply food to our retailers in till the ingredients have been changed the equipment has been redesigned to suit non-GMO products. It's an unfortunate situation we've been found in, but we can't do anything in till the law has been changed or our recipes changed to include non-GMO products.

For the moment, it looks like the majority of retailers and suppliers have been forced to close, forcing hundreds and thousands of employees to be laid off for the time being.

Image

Many average citizens have today chosen to begin Pro-GMO protests and anti-Left protests to demonstrate their anger towards the GMO ban and the Federal Senate for the recent policy change. So far, several towns, especially in Kevonia, have been locked down due to the protests leading to many vehicles and delivery units being delayed throughout Davostan.

With the elections on the horizon, it'll be interesting in deed to see how the nation responds to the Federal Senates decision.
