LORENZEN TO SUDDENLY RESIGN, FREJA KLAUSEN NEW PREMIER
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Image
Freja Klausen's portrait as the new premier.

Kivonia, Kovmark – It has almost been six months since Loke Lorenzen shouldered the responsibility as Erik Sundin's successor after taking on the role as premier of Davostag. Yet, in a sudden press conference this morning, Lorenzen announced his decision to step aside stating "...a new generation of leaders is what the nation needs...us old and grey haired need some rest and must foster a greater trust in the younger..." and confirming recent suspicions that Freja Klausen has been groomed for the high office. Klausen is confirmed to assume the office tomorrow on the 26th. She is now set to become the first woman to hold the office of premier, sure to be walking in the footsteps of other great women of history such as Elise Reinhardt, Isabella Cederstam and Viktoria I.

Freja Klausen is married since 5414 to Erik Mann, a high ranking army officer, but was more famously in a domestic relationship with actress and singer Love Fredir between 5405, having been engaged to her from 5409 until they broke it off in 5411. She has three children with Erik Mann. Klausen first came to serve as minister of environment and tourism in September 5407 at the very young age of 26. She held this position until September 5409, succeeded by the Liberal Democrat Anne-Lise Dyhr, and continued her political work within National Gathering (NS) administration. She returned to government office in February 5412 when she succeeded the long-standing ally and friend of Sundin, Per Seiger, as minister of internal affairs. However, this would last only a year and a half, when political dealings with the opposition Left Alternative and Liberal Democrats forced her to relinquish the ministry to Olof Fogh Lindberg of the former in June 5413. From then on she served as the party spokeswoman for national security affairs as well as press secretary for the government. On the recommendation of Erik Sundin, who would announce his resignation in December 5428, Klausen was appointed minister of foreign affairs and deputy premier under Loke Lorenzen in December 5419. Serving as such until tomorrow morning.

There is speculation concerning why Lorenzen suddenly resigned, with most of it directed toward Sundin, while not hold any government position remains as chairman of the ruling National Gathering and thus holding all influence over government policy and composition. It is widely believed that the electoral failings of the recent two decades are the primary motivation to why Lorenzen served such a short tenure, simply holding the office to make a safe and sure transition for Sundin's departure from government office and Klausen's ascension to it. Klausen has been for a long time the face of the more younger generation within the government and party, as well as holding significant popularity with the core voters of NS. Becoming premier means bringing a new fresh and young face in the same manner Sundin himself did when he took office in February 5389. Whether this will have a large effect on the election next year is not known as it would seem that NS faces a more determined opposition for every year that goes.

(backdated)

In what was an expected move, a group of further left members of the Left Alternative, led by Ingeborg Lindström, the party executive committee vice-chair, announced they were leaving the party with the intention of creating their own political force. Lindström, who came second in the recent leadership election, after the unexpected retirement of former party leader Anne-Sophie Modig, represented communist and radical eco-feminist factions, which stood against the party's possible moderation, believing that this would mean "breaking promises and giving up on principles and people, who voted for VA".

Morgonbladet sources believe that the new political force will be called the "Workers' Party", and will consist of socialist, feminist and communist members of the big tent VA at its foundation congress in February this year, while Lindström is expected to be elected the leader of the new party. When asked about the disunity on the left, Lindström told the media that "VA was already too big to keep all groups satisfied", and that "presenting more choices for Davostagians will only increase the chances of the left-of-centre forces on the upcoming elections". "Trust me, I have a lot of respect for Mr. Ny, and I wish him all the best in leading our now-former party, but sometimes, it is better to present an alternative, than to fight within, causing chaos and distrust between the members. We still communicate with our former colleagues, and are ready to help each other", - told us leader of the radical group.

What awaits the left in the upcoming elections is yet to be seen, but what is certain is that left forces are seeing a grand reform, the results of which are impossible to predict.

ERIK SUNDIN RETIRES FROM POLITICS, KLAUSEN NEW PARTY CHAIRWOMAN
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Sankt Erwinsburgs, Dovmark – It is now 47 years since Erik Sundin, who just turned 81, became party leader of the then-ruling National Gathering (NS) – first as Riksledare ("National Leader") and then as chairman. He assumed the premiership in February 5389 and governed Davostag until resigning in late December 5419. The standing committee of National Gathering, as well as the National Party Committee, has accepted his resignation from the chairmanship and approved Freja Klausen as his successor. Klausen succeeded Sundin and Loke Lorenzen as premier in late June 5420. Despite formally retiring, Sundin has confirmed that he will remain on the standing committee and serve as a special advisor to the new chairwoman.

Freja Klausen has stated that she intends on taking the party forward on a more coherent path, promising to fight for better economic and judicial reforms, more nationalizations, clearer democratization and tougher anti-luthorianization. She has also stated her belief that the agrarian sector to be the most vital in Davostag, hoping to bring a better political understanding for it and thus enhance it as an important industry for Davostag. On the matter of economic reforms, NS officials have for the past year drafted several proposals for legislation that would crackdown on big business and help the poorer sections of Davostagian society.

Now with the last of the truly old guard gone, as Sundin stood as the last remnant of the Alfred Trollman era, some within the party has opened up to more cultural nationalist policies as well as republican sentiments. This coming from the anti-luthorianization factions of the party, as well as a counter to the current pro-Artanian government, who has openly stated their desire to join the Artanian Union – something National Gathering has fiercly rejected. Klausen has commented before on the pro-Artanian stance of the government, stating that NS has always held a sense of belonging first and foremost to Davostag but also to Makon. She stated that if anything we should be looking towards the formation of a Makonic Union, instead of joining that of another continent.

DAVOSTAG REPUBLIC PROCLAIMED, NEW ELECTIONS EXPECTED SOON
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

The main national symbol of Davostag: Tjodsfanan ("the nation-banner").

Kivonia, Kovmark – The Kingdom of Davostag would have celebrated in a months time its 86th birthday, seeing its establishment on 1 April 5350. This came as a result of the agreed upon dissolution of the Nationalist dictatorship that had been established in 5335 after the Nationalist victory in the Davostag Civil War in 5333. From 5350 to 5357, Admiral Ragnar Westergren served not only as the country's first premier but also as its regent, due to the small but still relevant discussions at the time concerning whether the House of Sölsvingen-Österbro was the correct choice for Davostag – since the nation has never truly been defined by its ruling family but rather the ruling of a family or individual. In Davostag there exists no such thing as royal legitimacy, strength has been the order of the day for most of Davostagian history. Or as Anförare ("Leader") Leon Ceder had once said after House of Sölsvingen-Österbro had fled to Kundrati in 5333: "In Davostag men of power are crowned kings, not men of powder"; this was meant to be symbolic of how the Sölsvingen monarchy had presented itself in the international standard of constitutional monarchies, something Davostag nationalists harshly criticized believing that a Davostagian monarchy should represent Davostagian culture and ways of life and not those presented first by Luthori; hence the local term "Luthorianized monarchy".

Ragnar Westergren, a fervent monarchist, took action to restore the House of Sölsvingen-Österbro, while other nationalists hoped to find remaining members of the House of Reinhardt of Clan Reinhardt to take power (while never holding the titles of king, they have been the one family to continually rule Davostag in various shapes and forms). While the monarchy remained relatively stable in its popularity throughout the later half of the 5300s, balancing on number between 40% and 60%, their continual decrease began at the turn of the century when the Front Thing for National Revival (FTNV), a Davostag nationalist, socialist and republican militant group launched a series of insurgent attacks on the national government. The message and popularity of the FTNV, the intervention of foreign powers such as Kundrati, the passive or even inactive stance of the monarchy, allowed for nationalist and republican messages and propaganda of the "Luthorianzed monarchy" led to a steady decline of support for the monarchy. Traditionally and historically Davostag has never truly been a country for ceremonial figureheads, it has almost always been that either you have men of action or you do not.

The steady fall of the traditionally ruling and dominant National Gathering allowed for political forces such as the Left Alternative, the Workers' Party and the Davostag Democrats, the latter of which served as the political wing of the FTNV, to rise up and grab political, social and ideological influence. The FTNV proposed 'Davostag Republic' to present a form of government suited for Davostagian culture and mindset but also to preserve democracy with clear Davostagian characteristics that could be viewed with a clear distinction from the perceived soullessness of the international luthorianzed liberal democracy. While National Gathering had never truly been supporters nor opposers of the monarchy, they too were influenced by republican sentinments, especially through their youth wing. Later on the Davostag Democrats merged into National Gathering and these ideas became a quiet priority for the party. In 5428, by the authorship of several Riksdag members, notably Vera Vinther and Wilhelm Jörgen of National Gathering, drafted the 'Charter of the Republic', which was used as a leeway for negotations between National Gathering and the government parties. Eventually after the input and later approval of the-then ruling Left Alternative, the Charter of the Republic was put to a vote in 5435 and passed on 1 March 5436 with 312 votes in favor and only 33 votes against.

The House of Sölsvingen-Österbro took this decision by the Riksdag with dignity and declared that it would need to be their most important duty to respect the wishes of the people and the democracy. Queen Viktoria II thus signed her abdication during the evening of 1 March 5436. At the same time, National Gathering celebrated their republican success by immediately adopting a new logo which would a simplified and stylized version of Tjodsfanan, which was declared the new national flag. They also began preperations for the first parliamentary and presidential elections, which they have motioned to be called this year instead of the regularly planned ones in August 5438. No Riksdag party has yet to announce who they intend on running for Rikspresident ("President of the Realm/National President"). While the republic has not truly been directly approved by the people, National Gathering has made it clear that the early elections they have called is a way to provide a final confirmation from the people of Davostag regarding the Davostag Republic.

(OOC: Luthorianization is a local Davostagian term for Westernization)

RIKSPRESIDENT NEUSOHN SIGNS OFF ON SEVERAL REFORM BILLS
______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Kivonia, Kovmark – On the first day of August several motioned reform bills were finally approved by the Riksdag and signed by Rikspresident Julia Neusohn. These three bills are the first of more than a dozen new extensive legislation that intends on touching upon various sectors of Davostagian society. The first is Jordskiftelagen ("Land Reform Act") which had been planned for several years due to the increasing agrarian stance of National Gathering officials and voters, this bill would allow for the state to assume control and oversight regarding the agrarian sector in Davostag, with the aim of removing big business from the sector and dividing it between state-run and small private family farms, with the lands seized from big business redistributed through various means to new farming families. The second bill is Strafsförsäkringslagen ("Penalty Enhancement Law"), which is composed of five articles that defines new anti-treason judicial punishments, ranging from private businesses, state officials, military personnel, common citizens and intelligence officers. The third is a piece of legislation drafted in 5426 known as the Law on the Social Equity for the Commons of the Country that establishes a new agency with the authority to seize and distribute assets in Davostag, this law is meant to be expanded upon at a later date according to Premier Vera Vinther.

Rikspresident Neusohn had campaigned on an increasingly socialistic agenda, most likely due to her early affiliation with the Front Thing for National Revival, and now having fulfilled some of her reforms, she has made it clear that she hopes to change a lot more in Davostag to make the country a more cohesive nation. She has spoken about plans and current drafts being made to pass legislation that covers wealth regulation, anti-luthorianization reforms, anti-poverty reforms, taxation reforms, housing legislation, welfare expansion, stock exchange regulation, rapid agrarianization, halting and stagnating industrialization, stamping out the private sector from the education and school systems, as well as enforcing more radical environmental reforms. On top of this, the Rikspresident has not been shy to continue the militarization program which has been quietly pursued by the Davostag government, especially with its reinvesting in the Callusarv Special District.

On the matter of the coming election next year, Rikspresident Neusohn has not yet confirmed to stand for re-election, but signs have been made within the ruling party as well as various affiliated organizations that support the rumors. There has also been talk of a possible coalition government between National Gathering and their traditional opposition of the Liberal Democratic Union, though nothing has been confirmed.
Observers have also taken notice on the increasing activity between diplomatic channels of Davostag and Endralon, which is believed to be the result of the establishment of the Third Directorial Republic of Endralon; with proto-Adelists, that shaped the first and second directorial republics, and Davostagian unionists, that helped shape the revived Davostagian nation, having been natural allies and formed a deep bond between each other. Analysts have noted that a renewed Davostag-Endralon friendship would allow Davostag to step out onto the international scene in the same manner as they did the last time their friendship across the sea flourished.

DEPLOYMENT OF DAVOSTAGIAN TROOPS IN ENDRALON COMPLETE
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Davostag soldiers at the Hugalon canton-Kundrati border.

Kivonia, Kovmark – As the relations between Davostag and Endralon seems to prosper to its former likeness, the former at the request of the latter has for several months prepared the extensive deployment of the Davostag Armed Forces on Endralonian soil. On the explicit approval from the Rikspresident, the Davostag Army, Navy and Air Force, including the special division of the Foreign Operative Forces (soon to be completely reorganized) has completed their stationing in Endralon. The Davostag Army has placed three divisions: 1. Bergsjägardivision "Nikolaus" (1st Mountain Infantry Division) with a number of 10,700 soldiers, 3. Infanteridivision "Silfver" (3rd Infantry Division) with a number of 8,000 soldiers, and 2. Pansardivision "Viktoriana" (2nd Armoured Division) with a number of 10,000 soldiers. Together the Davostag Army roughly composes about 28,700 soldiers in Endralon at this time, with up to 32,000 with the Foreign Operative Forces.

The Nikolaus Division was placed in Endralon, at the and around the mountainous terrain present in the Directorial Republic Canton of Kundár-Nova Zergonska, as a form of symbolic gesture from Davostag to their ally as the division is named after the former Kivonian monarch Nikolaus (also known as Nikolas I) who was the son of Boros Barbara from the famed Endralonian Boros family that helped shape the late Directorial Republics. The Viktoriana Division, as one of the most well-trained, was also placed in Endralon as a symbolic gesture, with Viktoriana (also known as Viktoria I) the grandmother of Nikolaus had been a staunch ally, supporter and friend of the First Directorial Republic; this division has been placed in the Hugalon canton to lay the foundation for securing the region with eyes on the only national land border present. The Silfver Division has been placed between the other two, around the southern border of the two cantons. The Foreign Operative Forces is a mobile force of around 4,000 soldiers, which will be on constant movement between the stations of the three army divisions as well as in the Zergon canton. The army divisions will be handling the responsibility of total border and near-border security in the aforementioned cantons, which will be done through established bases near strategic cities and locations as well as assuming the management of the border by putting the Endralonian border control agency under their supervision.

The Davostag Navy has sent and now taken port around the northern, eastern and southern coastlines, with six Kivonia-class corvettes, three Långstad-class corvettes, two Nyberg-class corvettes and three Sevescia-class submarines. The mission of the Davostag Navy is to ensure total water security for the Directorial Republic in the Unholy Sea, Mad Dog Ocean and the Artanian Sea, where they will be escorting both Davostagian and Endralonian commercial and military vessels through the bodies of water to secure regions, by this acting as the de facto coast guard for Endralon. The Davostag Air Force will now be patrolling the skies in all Endralonian cantons as well as escorting important Endralonian flights; they have sent four Taab JAS 41 Gyrfalcon and three Sven JAS 40, including three Markovic 85s which will be placed in each of the three capitals of the aforementioned cantons. On a whole the total Davostagian manpower now stationed in Endralon is estimated to be up to 34,000 soldiers.

The Government of Davostag has confirmed that the Callusarv Special District is ramping up its production and has focused these past months on preparing and putting a lot of the Davostagian military vehicles into quality shape. According to sources within the Military High Command and the Ministry of Defence, there are several plans in the works detailing a rapid expansion of the Callusarv industrial area to produce more equipment and vehicles for the ongoing militarization in Davostag. On another note, the Chief of the Military High Command, Generalöverste Ulf af Greding, has confirmed that generallöjtnanter Fredrika Hulling, Anton Rådman and Pär Olovsson is to head the Nikolaus, Silfver and Viktoriana divisions respectively and will be under the higher command of General Vidar Forncrantz, who will be overseeing the entire military operation in Endralon. The Government has made it clear that the deployment, though openly without expiration date, is only temporary.

NEUSOHN MADE PRESIDENT AGAIN AS LDU CRUMBLES OVER ELECTORAL FRAUD SCANDAL
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Image
Julia Neusohn at her victory rally in Kivonia, 11 July 5448.

Kivonia, Kovmark – Today known as the Crisis of 5446, as Björn Öhrberg of the Liberal Democratic Union (LDU) wins the election of July 5446 and reassuming the presidency, National Gathering (NS) came out defeated, believing the polls and statistics giving them high approval ratings. The people looked to Öhrberg to see what he would do next, whether he would repeal the reforms enacted by Julia Neusohn in the previous term. Yet nothing happened, for unknown reasons Öhrberg did not appoint a cabinte nor did he confirm the continuation of the existing cabinet of Vera Vinther (NS). As per the statutes in the constitution, if the rikspresident fails to appoint a cabinet within nine months of taking office, it is the prerogative of the Riksdag do so within four months. Yet despite this, the Liberal Democratic majority Riksdag neither took its time to appoint a cabinet. Per the words of the constitution, this allowed for the Security Council of Davostag to see to it that a cabinet can be confirmed to continue with full responsibility of government work. The Security Council saw no need to change cabinet and confirmed the continuation of the Vinther Cabinet in August 5447.

Around the same time, reports came in from the National Electoral Commission regarding electoral fraud in the recent parliamentary and presidential elections. The Security Council together with the State Security Bureau and the Security Department for Internal Affairs began an extensive investigation in the matter. The Security Council had in late 5447 declared the presidency of Öhrberg in question, thus limiting its authority informally. In July 5448, the results of the investigation was complete and the Security Council announced that electoral fraud had occured and that the current Riksdag and presidency be declared null and that early elections be held immediately. Though not yet confirmed by official sources as the primary cause, the Liberal Democratic Union would quickly dissolve after the announcements – considered the rival sister-party of National Gathering, having succeeded their common predecessor the Davostagian Unity Gathering (DES) in 5350, it lasted 98 years. Julia Neusohn was invited from her retreat in Vermillion by National Gathering to claim her rightful victory in the coming elections.

The general elections held on 10 August 5448, two new parties arose and claimed seats from the former LDU, the conservative-leaning Democrats (D) and the Social Democratic Party (SDP). Neither of which would present a presidential candidate, the former due to extensive communication between the party and National Gathering for future cooperation, leading to the Democrats endorsing Neusohn; while the latter, the SDP, did not present a candidate at all, with some analysts believing it to be statement of support for Neusohn in the crisis that had just ended. National Gathering would gain a majority in the Riksdag, with Neusohn to be sworn in on 1 July 5448 having already presented a coalition cabinet proposal expected to be approved on the same day.

KUNDRATI FOREIGN MINISTER BIDANDA JOINS RIKSPRESIDENT NEUSOHN IN STATE VISIT
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Image
Rikspresident Julia Neusohn and Kundrati Foreign Minister Frantzisko Bidanda, at Härengård residence.

Kivonia, Kovmark – It was three days ago that Kundrati Minister of Foreign Affairs Frantzisko Bidanda landed at the Kivonia International Airport, who was greeted by Davostag Minister of Foreign Affairs Ulf af Redling with a ceremonial battalion of the Kivonia Homeguard. This state visit was a long-planned one, though it was initially believed that the President of Kundrati Beltso Ederra was the one to travel to Davostag, it had later been confirmed that the Kundrati president would remain in Kundrati due to personal issues. Kundrati Foreign Minister Bidanda was intended to travel with the Kundrati president, but now took on full responsibility regarding the visit and subsequent talks. The last time a Kundrati official visited Davostag was in 5394 when Kundrati president Iturain met Davostag premier Erik Sundin, rekindling long lost relations between the two Unholy Sea nations. Minister Bidanda was escorted by the State Security Bureau and the Military Police from the airport through Kivonia, under similar procedures as Iturain's visit.

Bidanda was first taken to his hotel for rest and recovery from the flight, but would a few hours later be taken throughout the city, eventually reaching Karlsfort Palace and later Befälspalatset, the seat of the Davostag government and Riksdag respectively. There he met Riksdag representatives as well as the Premier of Davostag, Vera Vinther, whom he sat down with for fika and discussed ways to create greater political and cultural exchange between the two countries, possible business ventures, cooperation in trade, etc. After having been a few hours with Premier Vinther, she joined him an inspection of a newly constructed high-rise building in classical architecture; this building is intended for the usage of the Department for State Enterprises, which is as it sounds a department managing the state-owned companies and determining what enterprises for them to seek. After this, Minister Bidanda and Premier Vinther travelled to the Reinhardt Palace, the official residence of the head of state of Davostag, where he would meet Rikspresident Julia Neusohn. Here the three would be accompanied by several secretaries for talks, until Premier Vinther excused herself for other meetings in the Riksdag. Bidanda and Neusohn would seem to get along quite well, enjoying a formal dinner later towards the evening with a couple of other ministers.

The next day, Minister Bidanda travelled to Härengård, the private residence of the rikspresident on the outskirts of Kivonia. There the minister and rikspresident held hours long discussions and negotiations regarding various subjects. During Bidanda's visit there the two had lunch and was expected to have a private informal dinner by themselves later in the evening. It could be revaled afterwards, that the topics of the discussions had been primarily the ongoing situation with Endralon regarding the economic sanctions, as well as Davostag's sudden decision to put a military presence in the region. While the tensions between the Artanian countries seem to have been cooling down, it was decided between the minister and rikspresident that a hotline between Kasaema and Kivonia be established for an easier and quicker way to discuss affairs that relate to the two countries, neighbors and other situations they might end up in. It was also agreed that trade and capital between Kundrati and Davostag would be allowed to be spread through each others countries without fees or tariffs and onwards to other places from them. As well as an agreement that would allow for easier travel for tourists between the two and easier access each other's education systems for students; not only this, but the two would start cooperating on television and radio series and help promote works from Davostag and Kundrati in each other's countries. And finally on the matters of military, it was decided that Kundrati and Davostag would jointly patrol the Lievenian Sea to provide security to the region and form an intelligence sharing program; after quick calls to the Ministry of Defence in both countries, it was confirmed that Davostag is to buy 2 of Kundrati's Astute-class submarines for 3.3 billion Kunos, which is equivalent of 43 billion Davosti.

The two parties would sign the agreements made on the third day of the state visit. Minister Bidanda and Rikspresident Neusohn would travel to central Kivonia, to greet the people, watch a ceremonial military parade to commemorate the visit and join youth leagues in a regulated form of 'questions and answers' from Davostagian children and teenagers. At the end of the day, Rikspresident Neusohn joined Minister Bidanda to the Kivonia International Airport where they said goodbye and promised to meet again, with Bidanda inviting Neusohn to Kasaema and the rikspresident accepting. It would be confirmed sources that the visit had gotten the two closer and that a genuine friendship was blooming between the two. It would be confirmed by Davostag officials the very same day and later the next day by Kundrati officials, that agreement signed is to be put into effect at the end of November, except for the submarines that are intended to be provided to Davostag at the end of this month.

Kivonia, Kovmark – Drafts made, proposals proposed, discussioned held, and finally at the military conference in Eliseborg, the Davostag Navy and the State Defence Industry Agency revealed a new military vehicle meant to succeed the Sevescia-class submarine. At this stage it is known as NRU-1, which is believed to stand for nya rikets ubåt ("submarine of the new realm/state"), but a popular rumor is that it will be classified as Nyson-klass ("Nyson-class") in honor of the sitting rikspresident Julia Neusohn. It is the next generation of submarines developed by TAAB Group for the Davostag Navy. It was initially proposed under Premier Erik Sundin in 5409, but was forced to be shelved in 5411 due to matters the government at the time considered more important. It would be under Premier Freja Klausen in 5424 that the project was discussed again, but without results. When Neusohn was elected rikspresident in 5442, she immediately took an interest in the project and ordered that it be developed.

The new submarine was designed to be an improvement of the Sevescia-class, according to the former Chief of the Navy General Staff, Torsten Arvinge. This new submarine would displace 1,900 tonnes and crew a complement of between 17 and 31 men. It was decided that the submarine needed to have a blue-water capability, as well as being equipped with modified air-independent propulsion and genuine holistic stealth technology. It is also designed to completely withstand shock load from underwater explosions and that through its torpedo tubes be able to launch and recover vehicles. The sail of the submarine would be composed of the same material as the Nyberg-class corvette. It is also equipped with 18 vertical launch cells for land attack missiles. It will be powered with diesel-electric machnery as many other naval vehicles in the Davostag Navy.

Responsible for the construction of this falls to the TAAB Group through the State Defence Industry Agency at the Callusarv Special District. The Military High Command has on behalf of the Government of Davostag ordered four of these submarines to be constructed until 5460. With further order expected afterwards if they prove to be a capable and functioning successor to the Sevescia-class. If so, the Military High Command has confirmed that they will be scraping all other pending orders of Sevescia-class submarines and halt its future constructions in favor of the NRU-1.

National Journal
The National Journal, or Riksbladet in Befäska, is a predominantly non-partisan news organization in Davostag.
The National Journal mainly reports on national and global political news, and occasionally entertainment.
The National Journal sees itself as the spiritual successor of the old Davostagian newspaper the People's Journal.

Kivonia, Kovmark – As international tensions start to boil stronger concerning the recent events within Kirlawa, the military forces of Kundrati has enforced an unlawful blockade on the country and Dundorf has prepared mobilization efforts in preperation of what seems like a clear road to war. Davostag usually never bother with events in the world, focusing instead on themselves. This isolationist stance has been a common trend for thousands of years in Davostag, with exceptions in certain periods of time where the nation daringly engages its near-regional sphere. This time however we have seen several instances where Davostag has decided to step outside from their shell, specifically regarding the deployment of Davostagian troops on Endralonian soil after the establishment of the Third Directorial Republic. Davostag has also shown itself to open up for international economic ventures in Kundrati, signing agreements and some talks of a treaty being drafted as we speak. Yet on the economic plane, Davostag has always been more careful than militarily or diplomatically, hoping to preserve the domestic industries and avoiding dependency on foreign trade, something that has relatively been achieved to some degree.

But now the Government of Davostag has taken a step further and ordered that the military industries and the highly efficient military industrial city of Callusarv begin the increased production of military arms, equipments, vehicles and more. As well as giving out orders of preparation to the 195,600 active military units in the country and ordering all 4,860,000 reservists to be prepared for a call of duty in case of the unlikely scenario that Davostag would become involved in a regional war. The units mostly on high alert is the newly formed 4th Corps which composes the 1. Bergsjägardivision "Nikolaus", 2. Pansardivision "Viktoriana" and 3. Infanteridivision "Silfver", as well as the 11 air force planes which were all stationed at the Endralon-Kundrati border, including the dubbed "Northeast-Artanian fleet" composed of the 11 corvettes of different types and the 3 submarines that were sent down to Endralon with the-now 4th Corps.
While the Northeast-Artanian fleet has been ordered to remain in place, the Bindeborg fleet which in total composes 7 Kivonia-class corvettes, 5 Långstad-class corvettes, 3 Nyberg-class corvettes, 3 Vermillion-class corvettes and 4 Sevescia-class submarines have made a detachment force of 3 Kivonia-class, 2 Långstad-class, 2 Vermillion-class and 1 Sevescia-class to the outskirts of the Davostag EEZ, international waters and close in the water region of the Kirlawan EEZ. What the Davostag Navy's specific purpose in the region is have not yet been confirmed and seems unlikely to be revealed any time soon.

While the Government of Davostag has not publicly declared for a side in the conflict, it would seem that they are keen on involving Davostag in some way or another. One source state that there is a concern over the possibility that this crisis could escalate into something bigger and cause a refugee wave that would certainly reach Davostag. In any case, signs of military involvement from Davostag's side seems greater by actions continually taken by the government, as it was later confirmed this evening that 410,000 army reservists had been called to report to their regiments, while the Military High Command revealed blueprints of new army corps that the reserve units would compose. If it is to be believed that the reservists are to become fully active soldiers due to this crisis, the Davostag Armed Forces will have a total of 605,000 soldiers ready.
Then again one should not consider mobilization and military activity to be something foreign in Davostag, militarism is something that is deeply rooted in Davostagian culture and history. Even at times when legislators have abolished conscripted service, most Davostagers is said to have at those times applied for volunteer service. If war starts and Davostag is dragged in or is dragging themselves in, the Davostagers will without doubt be ready to give whatever enemy it is a fight.
