Kivonian Armies reorganize to fight back the invasion and the possible Hutorian involvement

The Military High Command has ordered a quick regrouping of the Grand Army forces around Kivonia. Some of the different corps stationed around the cities of Kyrmár (Kivonia: capital city) and Garðadalur (Vermillion) has been ordered to regroup towards the city of Hvolsverfi, where a larger number of corps will be awaiting them to once more regroup in different cities and towns near the Hutorian border. This decision has been made as a response to the Hutorian mobilization and possible entry in the war. Five corps in the city of Fladborg and four more in the city of Langrup has been ordered to reinforce the forces on the island of Nyberg and to push the invaders out of it. The Military High Command has confirmed that locals in different parts of Nyberg has volunteered for the Kivonian army and many in the occupied area has tried to resist their occupiers by destroying important infrastructure needed in case of Telamonic retreat, this in hopes of wiping out the enemy forces present there. It is confirmed that the regrouping of all sides will take a few days.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marianne Bruun, has stated in a press conference that the government of Kivonia will not waste time on the world congress, where the Telamonic government hopes to gain more support for their crusade of "liberation". Minister Bruun has instead pleaded for the people of the nation to prepare themselves for an aggressive attack by our hostile neighbors (Telamon and Hutori). At the same press conference, the Minister of Defense took the opportunity to state that the Air Force and the Navy will commit themselves to actively patrol all sides of Kivonian air space and waters, in cases of a sneak attack by the enemy. Despite their reassuring words, it seems as if neither the government nor the military high command is going to address the fact that Telamon outwitted the armed forces with their fake attack against the city of Vermillion, but instead the government and the high command seems to use the opportunity to maturely focus on the importance of the whole mess: the protection of the civilians.

Head of the Nation collapses during Speech of the Republic
As the war expands, the political arena of Kivonia is shifting heavily after the collapse of General Volkhardt

Early this evening, during the annual Speech of the Republic, the Head of the Nation, General Augustin Volkhardt, collapsed 6 minutes in to his speech. He began talking about the current immediate situation of the war between the Third Kivonian Republic and the other two Macon nations. He stated that he, the government and the armed forces is working tirelessly day and night to combat the foreign invaders, who, in his own words wants to:

Eradicate the Kivonian culture and history in order to push their globalist and socialistic agenda.

As he stood before the Civil Assembly and the National Salvation Military Council, he began to seem dizzy and started to mutter incomprehensible words and then suddenly fell down on the floor. The members of both chambers quickly moved to help the General, some of who later stated, that he had a hard time to breath properly. An ambulance was quickly called and came within 5 minutes.

The Minister of the Republic, Lt General Viktor Haninge has stated that the General has been transported to the nearest hospital and is getting the best treatment and care from the most professional doctors in the country, who just arrived by helicopter from the city of Vermillion. No one knows really what the cause may be for this, but rumors and speculations have already started to circle around over that he was poisoned. Which in turn have created numerous theories if that were the case. One of such theories is that the Hutorians and Telamonese are behind the Generals collapse, while other more conspiracy like theories have suggested that it was a deep conspiracy coming from within the government or the armed forces or the STASÄ (State Security Service). But no comment has been made yet, concerning the rumors and speculations, neither has any one confirmed the status of the General.

Not clear who holds the reins of power, but political maneuvering has begun

Early this morning, the Minister of the Republic, Viktor Haninge, confirmed in a press conference organized at the hospital in which the Head of the Nation had been given treatment, that General Augustin Volkhardt had died, and the doctors have confirmed a poisoning. Minister Haninge:

I regret to inform you all, the people of the Republic, that our beloved Head of the Nation, General Augustin Volkhardt have passed away. The doctors have informed us that the cause of death is with no doubt poisoning. The chief doctor will at any moment explain in more detail. I just want to make it clear that this is a day of sadness and regret, and that we will go through with this even during these circumstances around us. Thank you.

After the press conference, reports started to come in that Kivonian troops of the 9th and 12th Corps were moving suspiciously around the capital and other important cities. Some speculations believe it to be a coup d'état, but nothing has been heard from the government. No one knows who holds the reins of power as there is no specific law concerning the succession of the Head of the Nation. Some believe that Minister of the Republic Viktor Haninge could be the most likely successor, while other believe that the friendly relationship between General Volkhardt and the State Officer Isabella Cederstam could be a hint for a Cederstam succession. Others believe that the one who has the legal reins of power is Secretary of State of the Republic, Christian Kvist, who is currently the head of government. However, the most likely would be General Ruprecht Brandler, who is the Chairman of the National Salvation Military Council. But reports have stated that most of the mentioned is currently extremely busy, which would suggest political maneuvering from all directions.

One thing is clear however, and it is that the war is continuing with the National Military Commission acting as a collective supreme commander-in-chief in order to have a structure and organization for the troops of armed forces, the Chairman of the National Salvation Military Council is the one who chairs the Commission as well.
