Soldiers of the Defense ForcesThe National Convention has now set out its budget, plans and appointments for the Davostani Defense Force. After almost no debate whatsoever, with only slight demands by the Fladborgian Club to increase the size of the forces. The Davostani Defense Forces has also now revealed its structural organization. The whole forces is comprised of three main branches, the Davostani Army (Davostani:
Dovske Hær, Kivonian:
Dovska Armén), the Davostani Navy (Davostani:
Dovske Flåde, Kivonian:
Dovska Flottan) and the Davostani Air Force (Davostani:
Dovske Luftvåben, Kivonian:
Dovska Luftvapnet). The Army is administrated by the Army High Command and is headed by the Inspector-General of the Army, the Navy is administered by its Navy High Command which is headed by the Inspector-General of the Navy and the Air Force which is administered by the Air Force High Command and the Inspector-General of the Air Force. The whole armed forces is administered by the Military High Command (Davostani:
Militære Højkommando, Kivonian:
Militära Högkommandot), which is headed by the Director-General (Davostani:
Generaldirektøren, Kivonian:
Generaldirektören). The newly formed Defense Intelligence and Security Service (Davostani: Forsvarets
Efterretnings- og Sikkerhedstjenest, Kivonian:
Försvarets Underrättelse- och Säkerhetstjänst) is also a part of the new armed forces. A new and more unknown organization has also been created called the Leitz Squadron (LS), originally a small paramilitary group within the Corridor Security, but now been upgraded as its own semi-independent organization. The LS is named after Grand Admiral Wilhelm Leitz, who was by the National Convention appointed as the new Supreme Commander of the Davostani Defense Forces. The Corridor Security has now been placed under the administration of the Leitz Squadron instead.
The National Convention has also made several other appointments such as former Lieutenant General of the Third Kivonian Republic and commanding officer of the Capital Defense Corp (CDC) Oskar Posse, famed for handing over the capital city Kivonia to the Hutorians during the Macon War. Posse was promoted to General and appointed the new Director-General of the Defense Forces. The Capital Defense Corp was revived again with former Major General of the Third Kivonian Republic and commanding officer of the 23rd Division of the 6th Corp, Saga Isaksson, promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and commanding officer of the CDC. General Manfred Vinhamn has been appointed as the Inspector-General of the Davostani Army, Admiral Erik Sølhus has been appointed as the Inspector-General of the Davostani Navy and General Fredrika Almberg has been appointed as the Inspector-General of the Davostani Air Force. The National Convention also set out the goal of recruiting an estimated 20,000 troops until the date 31 December 4799, they also set the policy of letting each individual High Command of the respective branches of the Defense Forces handle their designated budgets.
The budget which was set about 40 years ago is still in place with an estimated 350,000,000,000 Davosti expenses by the Ministry of Defense. The budget plan for the military is as follows: The Military High Command - the supreme decision-making authority of the armed forces - will have a budget of 24,000,000,000 DAV. The Army of the Davostani Defense Forces will have a total of 50,000,000,000 DAV, of these 8,000,000,000 DAV will go to the Army High Command, 11,000,000,000 DAV will go to the Military Police Force and 8,500,000 DAV will go to the Military Police Command. The Davostani Navy is to receive 38,000,000,000 DAV, with the Navy High Command receiving 5,000,000,000 DAV of those. The Davostani Air Force is to receive 24,000,000,000, with 3,100,000,000 of those going to the Air Force High Command. The Defence Intelligence and Security Service will receive 15,000,000,000 DAV, with 1,500,000,000 of those going to the Defence Intelligence and Security Service Command. The Leitz Squadron has received 15,000,000,000 DAV, with 1,500,000,000 of those going to the Leitz Squadron Command and 4,000,000,000 of those going to the Corridor Security.
