Shadow Council formed
With the death of Volkhardt, a collective leadership have taken form to handle the war

A collective leadership of the most prominent leaders of the Republic have taken shape, officially known as the Council for the Preservation of the Republic, and more commonly known as the Shadow Council, to symbolize its position as being formed from the shadow of General Augustin Volkhardt. The Shadow Council is composed of the Chairman of the National Salvation Military Council, General Ruprecht Brandler, the head of government - Secretary of State of the Republic - Christian Kvist, the State Officer of the Republic, Isabella Cederstam, the Minister of Defense Thorsten Morgentaler, the Minister of Internal Affairs Daniella Hjertsson, the Minister of the Republic Viktor Haninge, and finally the elusive Counselor to the Republic, Julius Callus. The Shadow Council has taken command as a collective Supreme Commander-in-chief and as a collective head of government.

Political analysts have commented on the suspicious formation of this Council, with no statement about the troops of the 9th and 12th Corps or anything else concerning the political intrigues, which have certainly without doubt taken place. A popular theory has arisen that does not seem impossible, which is that the Counselor to the Republic, has been able to organize the council through political promises and through military threatening. Despite this, the Shadow Council does not seem to have a chairman or anything like it, however, the most popular member of the Council is State Officer Isabella Cederstam, who has been able to stay out from political factionalism and has been able to maintain her non-partisanship. Rumors have circulated ever since the start of the war, that Cederstam was one of the few who objected to the war. However, for now it seems as if the war is going to continue.

Minister of the Republic Viktor Haninge in a interview concerning Endralonian ships in the Unholy sea

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Welcome Minister.

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Thank you so much for letting me be here.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
So... I would like to begin with the so called Shadow Council. What kind of council is it?.

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Well, the Shadow Council is a collective leadership which has been set-up to handle the war more effectively. The death of the General came as a shock for everyone, so a few of us knew that this would mean a catastrophe for the Republic, ambitious Generals and political intriguers will of course try to seize power, we have seen that through history, especially in the Old Republic.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
I see, and the members of the [Shadow] Council seems to all be part of another important government agency, why is that?

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Its really simple actually, anyone can figure it out. General Brandler, for example, gives the Shadow Council access to the National Salvation Military Council and the National Military Commission, the latter being the direct collective commander over the armed forces, while the Shadow Council is merely a symbolic supreme commander. We have decided that only vital military decisions should be made by the Shadow Council. The other members, of course includes the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense and the Secretariat of the State, and also of course with the State Officer Isabella Cederstam, we have the Civil Assembly on the Council as well.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Thank you for your explanation. Now could you explain how you and the [Shadow] Council feels about the Endralonian intensions to perhaps intervene.

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Well of course. I actually find it amusing, how blind or just plain ignorant the parties in Endralon is. They accuse us of a dictatorship, and rally support for the Telamon regime, but the fact is that our government has never during its entire existence from 4754 motioned any bill or legislation or resolution banning political parties in anyway, however the regime in Telamon of which the Endralonian has given its support to has passed a law motioning for the creation of a One-party state with the SGS - the party of the High Queen - to be the only sole legal party in their nation. Let me say this again. We have NEVER motioned the banning of political parties, NEVER. So its hypocritical for the Endralonians to invite an authoritarian ruler and claim that she supports freedom and democracy here in Davostan. If she truly wants freedom and democracy here, why did she not accept the results of the 4749 national election, which gave our party, the KNSP, up to 70% of the vote. MEANING that almost 70% of the population of Davostan did not want the High Queen in power, is that a coup? NO! It's not, it's democracy. And to be honest we gave the High Queen the opportunity to co-exist with our party, after OUR party granted the title of Supreme Sovereign to her, a position that was intended to be the original head of state of the Third Republic

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Wow... It's a lot to take in. So if I understand you correct, the High Queen was planned by the KNSP to be the original head of state of the Third Kivonian Republic?

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Yes.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Then how does it come that she "fled"?

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
It has to do with the fact that she couldn't accept the reality that the Davostani and Kivonian people chose the KNSP instead of her party, and most likely because she probably wanted to establish a one-party state, which she now has done. She wouldn't have been able to create a one-party state if another party (KNSP) ruled with 70% of the popular will. Another thing is, if it was a coup, why didn't we remove her from her position during our five years in power before she fled? Removing would have taken a day or two, and making it official would have taken about 6 months, but we didn't, we kept her for five years because we wanted to cooperate, she didn't.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Last question. What do you think about her so-called "liberation" to free the "oppressed" people of Davostan?

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Its interesting how she has come to "save" the people of Davostan, when they proved in the 4749 elections that they didn't want her. That's probably why she is waging this war, not to liberate the people of Davostan. But to punish them. For giving a landslide victory to us. She just wants to massacre our people, the people who did not give her their approval. Let me finish this interview by stating this, Endralon thinks they are fighting the bad side, when in fact there does not exist a good or bad side, both Davostan and Telamon are in their own scales authoritarian, but we are open about letting the military have a opportunity to rule, she however, shouts rhetoric about false liberation. This is not a war of good versus evil, its a war of truth versus lies. And we stand by the former.

Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Thank you so much for your time.

Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Thank you again for letting me be here.

Kivonian forces invades Hutori
As the invasion into Telamon starts to turn, the Kivonian forces have instead tried their luck in Hutori

Early this morning the Kivonian military command announced that an invasion into Hutori has commenced. The frontal and aggressive attack has resulted in a few Kivonian victories, and their reaching to the rivers of St. John and Harding. General Eric Kraus, the commander of the invasion force, which is numbering up to 110,000 troops, mainly from the 1st Army led by General Nikolas Qvist, however, newly enlisted soldiers have been quickly put into new corps and divisions to join the invasion of Hutori which is officially dubbed "Operation Slutmålet" (in Luthorian: Operation Final Target). The 1st and 3rd corps, led by Lieutenant Generals Georg Ekbom and Ivar Olofsson respectively have been ordered to seize control over the Hutorian region of Adelia and the Federal District of Bekenial, the two corps have an estimated number of 40,000 troops combined. The 2nd, 4th and 5th corps, led by Lieutenant Generals Ellen Linderoth, Mats Rehn and Britta Nyström respectively is in charge of seizing control over important assets in the regions of Lagard and Falristan close to the Davostani border, these three corps are numbering up to 60,000 troops. The National Military Commission has stated that the reason for putting so much resources in the region of Adelia is to simply try to end the war much more faster, by knocking the Hutorians out of the war and then getting free rein to launch a major land invasion from northern Hutori into Telamon. Aerial bombardments have also started to take place, despite taking losses during skirmishes with Hutori before and through battles with Telamon, the Kivonian Air Force has now put all its reserves up in the air and are targeting Hutorian air defenses to try to get a free rein over the Hutorian capital.

There are also reports that there are those within the military high command and the ruling Shadow Council who has strongly objected to the invasion of Hutori believing that the resources should primarily be put in the invasion force stuck in Telamon, which, through the words of critics, is to deep into Telamon territory. There where those in the former Kvist Government and the National Salvation Military Council who apparently believed that the invasion force in Telamon should have stayed near the cost instead of obtaining new costly assets far deep into Telamon. The situation for the Kivonian forces in Telamon is not looking that good either, with General Ebba Ossler, the commanding officer of the 2nd Army and subsequently the invasion of Telamon, having issued a report that the demand to push deeper in to Telamonic territory is constraining her resources and supplies to keep her army sufficiently okay, a demand issued by the military high command back in Kivonia.

Shadow Council accepts High Queen's offer of negotiations
The ruling Council of Kivonia has stated: "State Officer Cederstam will not - at the moment - become leader of the Third Republic, but she will speak on the Council's behalf for negotiations"

During a the recent voting of the Shadow Council, of which the results were leaked, the decision to open up for negations was approved. Secretary Christian Kvist, Minister of Internal Affairs Daniela Hjertsson, Minister of Defence Thorsten Morgentaler and State Officer Isabella Cederstam voted in favor of negotiations with Telamon. Chairman of the NSMC Ruprecht Brandler, Minister of the Republic Viktor Haninge and Counselor to the Republic Julius Callus voted against. A confirmed statement from the Council has been released to the press:
State Officer Cederstam will not - at the moment - become leader of the Third Republic, but she will speak on the Council's behalf for negations for ceasefire or even peace. Her position in the hierarchy could be a matter to be discussed during the negotiations.

State Officer Cederstam has been considered by supports to the the voice of the Shadow Council and the de facto speaker of the Council, while others are not so happy about her wishes for peace, but even if peace is able to achieve or not, Cederstam has, according to political commentators, the best chance to become the next ruler of the Third Republic and that the only reason why some of the members of the Shadow Council is hesitant is because of her stance against the war with Telamon and now Hutori. A little earlier today, State Officer Cederstam gave a brief hint to the press that she would love to discuss a ceasefire or hopefully peace with Telamon. The action to talk with Telamon of a possible peace has come as a surprise for the military as they just invaded Hutori, but strategic and political analysts have commented that this would be the best thing for the Third Republic, to make peace with Telamon to focus on Hutori and later on find a reasonable compromise with them as well. But some are rumored not to be happy at all of this development. Peace might just be around the corner, or will the war continue to rage one...

The attack on Hutori continues with heavy losses for the Kivonians
3rd Corp collapses after the Hutorian flanking of the Kivonian thrust towards Bekenial

With the invasion of Hutori continuing, and with the Hutorian 1st Armoured Division's ramming into the Kivonian flank of the 1st and 3rd Corps, the latter began collapsing completely weeks later with Lieutenant General Ivar Olofsson being killed in battle. The military high command at first ordered the 1st Corp to continue their assault, but as soon as they understood the situation they ordered a retreat which resulted in extremely heavy casualties as the Hutorians insanely crushed the Kivonian force, most likely with motivation to avenge Hutorian Crown-Prince who was killed in battle.

The 2nd, 4th and 5th corps being halted by the Hutorian well prepared defenses, started to waver as well, but stood their ground as much as possible. The 2nd and 4th corps having lost almost 40% of their forces each, however, the Kivonian military high command has ordered a complete thrust forward with not a soldier allowing to take a step back. The news over the situation of the invasion force has led many people in Kivonia to start violent riots. The Minister of Republic and de facto head of military police Viktor Haninge responded with brutally suppressing the riots and protesters. He then ordered that the media is to be completely censored and that if any newspaper published negative news or criticized the war, the publishers would be arrested and put in internment camps.

Meeting with High Queen results in bloodbath
A terrorist attack was committed at the negotiations between State Officer Cederstam and High Queen Annalise I!
Image
The terrorist attack on the town hall

Today at evening, the State Officer Isabella Cederstam met with High Queen Annalise I in a no-mans land between the Kivonian and Telamonic frontlines in Telamon. There meeting was supposed to been held at the local towns town-hall. But when State Officer Cederstam stepped out of her car to be greeted by the High Queen, the town hall building exploded. The attack resulted in the death of 26 people, but miraculously both the State Officer and the High Queen survived the horrible event. There is no clear evidence of who might be behind the attack, but suspicion lies with warmongers in either Kivonia or Telamon not wishing to end the war between the two nations. The Shadow Council in Kivonia has commented on the attack with Counselor to the Republic Julius Callus - a man not often seen in public - giving a speech about the incident:
My fellow countrymen, citizens and soldiers of the Republic. This barbaric act committed against these peaceful negotiations is not what it means to be human. And it has come to my knowledge that it is Hutori and Telamon who is behind this monstrous atrocity! The False Queen of Telamon never wanted peace! She wanted to get rid of our respected State Officer, Isabella Cederstam, who thank God, is alive, but unfortunately held hostage by the warmongering regime of Telamon! This is not acceptable! But this is not the only news which I am in possession of. It turns out that the regimes of Hutori and Telamon is behind the murder of our leader! The murder of Augustin Volkhardt! Our Head of Nation! I will personally lead the Republic with the guidance of the Shadow Council behind me to avenge our leader and to rescue Isabella! ALL HAIL KIVONIA! ALL HAIL THE REPUBLIC!

The speech was broadcasted in every home, car and street for every citizen to hear around Kivonia. And in the recent hours, riots of thousands have been taken place around the nation to show their support for revenge. This has caused a massive number of newly enlisted to the military to fight the Hutorians. The speech also revealed the current political State of the Third Republic. It seems as if Counselor Julius Callus has taken command over the nation, and apparently with the support of the Shadow Council. No statement have been made to confirm if Counselor Callus intends on taking the position as Head of the Nation, or if he intends on ruling de facto.

Remaining Kivonian forces falls back after the collapse of the invasion of Hutori

The defeat of the Kivonian invasion force of Hutori has created hysteria in the military command. But with the new de facto ruler of the Third Republic, Counselor to the Republic Julius Callus, the highest of military institutions have been forced to pull themselves together and issue his commands. Witness reports states that Counselor Callus hasn't showed any worrying sign at all, after this report spread like wildfire for the Kivonian soldiers their morale increased. The remaining forces of the Kivonian invasion force of Hutori are, the 3rd Division which was part of the 1st Corp and led by Major General Joachim Norddahl. The 3rd Division originally composed of 6,500 troops, but now only up to 1,000 troops. The 6th Division of the 2nd Corp was able to successfully fall back but with extremely high casualties, it is led by Major General Ann Ljungberg, the remaining soldiers of their original 6,500 was 800. The 12th Division of the 4th Corp also narrowly able to escape having lost 5,800, holds a remaining number of 700 troops left, the 12th Corp still being led by Major General Johan Ohlsson. The last 14th Division of the 5th Corp led by Major General Lovisa Bergman was miraculously able to escape but with the highest of casualties compared to the other surviving Divisions, having a remaining 200 troops of 6,500 at the start of the invasion. These divisions have now by orders of the National Military Commission been supplied with medical treatment for the wounded and ammunition, they have also been replenished with new troops. With the 3rd Division, the 6th Division, the 12th Division and 14th Division will are all to be composed of 8,000 troops each, the major disadvantage of these new troops is that they are newly enlisted soldiers with almost no experience or training, but, the military high command has brushed the worries aside stating that they are to form a new 11th Corp and that they are to participate in a classified operation, together with the 10th Corp which was formed a few months ago when the military high command called back the 18th Division of the 6th Corp of the 2nd Army led by Major General Esther Frisk, the 20th Division of the 7th Corp of the 2nd Army led by Major General Albert Antonsson, the 25th Division of the 8th Corp of the 2nd Army led by Major General Hannes Liljeström, and finally, the 27th Division of the 9th Corp of the 2nd Army led by Major General Linus Göransson. The Divisions in the 10th Corp has also been replenished. The only information given about the classified operation is that the 10th and 11th Corps is to be in front of the main defense forces which has been given the task to halt the coming invasion by Hutorian forces, this information has baffled strategical and tactical analysts, but the military high command confirmed that the 10th and 11th Corps are not to engage directly with the enemy forces.

Image
Newly enlisted troops of the 3rd Army being inaugurated

The newly established defense force, mostly made up of new conscripts is known as the 3rd Army and which is numbered up to 126,000 troops, plus the remaining 1st Corp of the invasion force of Hutori which was able to escape with the sacrifice of the 3rd Corp. The 1st Corp has been given the specific order to be stationed at a small harbor west of the city of Fladborg, and to meet up with the remainder of the Kivonian Republican Fleet led by Admiral Wilhelm Leitz. No comment has been made on the condition of the fleet yet by the military high command, but it seems as if above 95% of the fleet has been destroyed, and the remaining forces are just a few small ships able to carry a few thousand only. At an airfield not specified where, but rumored to be around the city of Fladborg has apparently been stockpiled by the Kivonian military with an attack jets and more air forces equipment, as well as almost 15,000 Air Force troops ready to engage in aerial combat, though it most likely is the same old version of the Kivonian planes that overwhelmed the Hutorians during the Kivonian invasion. No comment has been given over why the high command has focused around the city of Fladborg, but some speculate a possible escape contingency.

Continuing over to the 3rd Army, it is composed of 4th new Corps, the 12th Corp, the 13th Corp, the 14th Corp and the 15th Corp, each Corp composing of 4th Divisions and with each Division is an estimated number of 7,875 troops, in each Corp it is an estimated number of 31,500 troops. The commanding officer of the 3rd Army is apparently the Counselor to the Republic Julius Callus himself, who was made a General a few days ago by the National Military Commission, furthering cementing his de facto rule over the Third Republic. The Counselor has appointed new Major Generals of the Divisions and appointed existing commanders of the Corps, the latter ones being General Ruprecht Brandler of the 12th Corp, General Eric Kraus of the 13th Corp, Lt Gen. Viktor Haninge of the 14th Corp and Lt Gen. Gabriel Vikström of the 15th Corp. This goes against the custom of the army, usually only a Lieutenant General should command a Corp, while a Major General commands a Division and a General commands an army. But the Counselor made the appointments with the dire situation in mind, by positioning more experienced commanders at the spear of newly enlisted would increase the Kivonian Republican Army's chance of defending Davostan.
