Minister of the Republic Viktor Haninge in a interview concerning Endralonian ships in the Unholy seaElsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Welcome Minister.
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Thank you so much for letting me be here.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
So... I would like to begin with the so called Shadow Council. What kind of council is it?.
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Well, the Shadow Council is a collective leadership which has been set-up to handle the war more effectively. The death of the General came as a shock for everyone, so a few of us knew that this would mean a catastrophe for the Republic, ambitious Generals and political intriguers will of course try to seize power, we have seen that through history, especially in the Old Republic.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
I see, and the members of the [Shadow] Council seems to all be part of another important government agency, why is that?
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Its really simple actually, anyone can figure it out. General Brandler, for example, gives the Shadow Council access to the National Salvation Military Council and the National Military Commission, the latter being the direct collective commander over the armed forces, while the Shadow Council is merely a symbolic supreme commander. We have decided that only vital military decisions should be made by the Shadow Council. The other members, of course includes the Ministries of Internal Affairs and Defense and the Secretariat of the State, and also of course with the State Officer Isabella Cederstam, we have the Civil Assembly on the Council as well.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Thank you for your explanation. Now could you explain how you and the [Shadow] Council feels about the Endralonian intensions to perhaps intervene.
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Well of course. I actually find it amusing, how blind or just plain ignorant the parties in Endralon is. They accuse us of a dictatorship, and rally support for the Telamon regime, but the fact is that our government has never during its entire existence from 4754 motioned any bill or legislation or resolution banning political parties in anyway, however the regime in Telamon of which the Endralonian has given its support to has passed a law motioning for the creation of a One-party state with the SGS - the party of the High Queen - to be the only sole legal party in their nation. Let me say this again. We have NEVER motioned the banning of political parties, NEVER. So its hypocritical for the Endralonians to invite an authoritarian ruler and claim that she supports freedom and democracy here in Davostan. If she truly wants freedom and democracy here, why did she not accept the results of the 4749 national election, which gave our party, the KNSP, up to 70% of the vote. MEANING that almost 70% of the population of Davostan did not want the High Queen in power, is that a coup? NO! It's not, it's democracy. And to be honest we gave the High Queen the opportunity to co-exist with our party, after OUR party granted the title of Supreme Sovereign to her, a position that was intended to be the original head of state of the Third Republic
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Wow... It's a lot to take in. So if I understand you correct, the High Queen was planned by the KNSP to be the original head of state of the Third Kivonian Republic?
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Yes.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Then how does it come that she "fled"?
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
It has to do with the fact that she couldn't accept the reality that the Davostani and Kivonian people chose the KNSP instead of her party, and most likely because she probably wanted to establish a one-party state, which she now has done. She wouldn't have been able to create a one-party state if another party (KNSP) ruled with 70% of the popular will. Another thing is, if it was a coup, why didn't we remove her from her position during our five years in power before she fled? Removing would have taken a day or two, and making it official would have taken about 6 months, but we didn't, we kept her for five years because we wanted to cooperate, she didn't.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Last question. What do you think about her so-called "liberation" to free the "oppressed" people of Davostan?
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
Its interesting how she has come to "save" the people of Davostan, when they proved in the 4749 elections that they didn't want her. That's probably why she is waging this war, not to liberate the people of Davostan. But to punish them. For giving a landslide victory to us. She just wants to massacre our people, the people who did not give her their approval. Let me finish this interview by stating this, Endralon thinks they are fighting the bad side, when in fact there does not exist a good or bad side, both Davostan and Telamon are in their own scales authoritarian, but we are open about letting the military have a opportunity to rule, she however, shouts rhetoric about false liberation. This is not a war of good versus evil, its a war of truth versus lies. And we stand by the former.
Elsa Folkdotter, the Interviewer
Thank you so much for your time.
Viktor Haninge, Minister of the Republic
