Majatran Sea: Early morning last monday a strong sound could be heard in the Majatran sea. Upon taking a closer look you could begin the notice warships navigating themselves through the sea as if conducting maneuvers. This was indeed the case. On monday a naval exercise named "NADI" (Naval Arms Defense Initiative) conducted by the Imperial Navy of Deltaria was launched. The NADI exercise was announced several months ago in a joint statement by the Imperial Military Strategic Command and Imperial Ministry of War. They described the exercise its goal, stating that NADI was intended to serve as a exercise for the navy to test its command structure and reaction speed as well as serving as a good training exercise for the ship crews to get familiar with the equipment in real combat situations. In the exercise one Nemec class carrier and one Yegorovich class carrier would partake, with both of these carriers being escorted by their own strike groups consisting out of 4 destroyers, 2 cruisers and 2 attack submarines. Apart from these two carrier strike groups there are also several newly formed "Attack Fleets" participating in the exercise. These fleets (of which there are 3) consist out of several frigates, cruisers, destroyers, corvettes and submarines. With one of the 3 fleets having the only Battlecruiser of the Imperial Navy in its composition. Other ships were left out of the exercise as they were being repaired or kept in reserve as part of the strike groups for the remaining carriers in port.
The first part of the exercise revolved around the newly established Attack fleets. Which have the official task to execute "quick and descisive operations" using their speed compared to a carrier strike group to make the difference in a fight. These Attack fleets where first put up against eachother in several simulated combat situations accross the majatran sea engaging eachother in both long range and close range naval combat. After the attack fleets succesfully finished the first operations of the exercise the two carrier fleets designated to partake in the exercise left their port. They themselves where first tasked with engaging eachother in simulated combat to test the carrier vs carrier potential of the strike groups. As expected by the Imperial Military Strategic Command the Nemec carrier strike group descisively won each engagement, showing the weaknesses of the Yegorovich carrier and proving that the Nemec carrier was a good investment for the Imperial Navy as it is clearly a superior vessel to its predessecor. According to the IMSC these engagements however have also helped the crews and commanders of the Yegorovich carriers. As the engagements of this one Yegorovich strike group has learned that crew valuable lessons that could also help the crews of other Yegorovich carriers. This engagement also helped the Nemec carrier crew to get familiar with the equipment onboard the Nemec carrier and its admiral has also documented every lesson learned so that other crews of Nemec carriers can learn a bit more as well.
After these engagements 1 of the Attack Fleets and the Yegorovich carrier strike group set sail back to their respective ports in Deltaria as their role in the exercises was over. The Nemec carrier strike group was now pitted against two of the Attack fleets and tasked with either completely neutralizing or routing the fleets. After a day of navigating the three fleets met eachother in the north of the majatran sea. The simulated battle that followed caused half of the carrier strike group to be eliminated (in the simulation) and 2 Admiral Gorshkov frigates as well as 2 corvette's of the Attack fleets to be eliminated. But, due to the losses in its protection fleet, the Nemec carrier was forced to, together with its remaining escorts, sail away from the attack fleets in order to avoid being hit. The remaining attack fleets however, with their superior speed, catched up to the carrier group and managed to eliminate 2 destroyers before being forced to halt their pursuit due to the loss of a cruiser and submarine. However this was seen by the IMSC as a tactical defeat for the carrier strike group and even though the carrier itself was not damaged in the simulation it being forced to retreat was seen as a defeat. In this part of the exercise however the effectiveness of the Attack fleets was for the first time truly proven and the IMSC was overall happy with the result as they also found out that the Nemec carrier was best utilized during these kind of engagements by engaging the enemy fleet from afar.
As the three remaining fleets still participating in the exercise were now moving back to port the Carrier strike group had one last task, just off the coast of Deltaria the strike group trained the amphibious and ground assault capabilities of the fleet. The Nemec carrier launched its jets of its deck to bombard the shoreline and simulated defense positions placed there while the cruisers in the strike group also launched their armaments to precision strike positions on the shore. After this bombardment and with jets still in the air to provide air support the amphibious assault vehicles, developed by the socialist regime and reintroduced several years ago, where send to the beaches with in them infantry of the Národní Námořní Sbor (National Marine Corps) which is the marine infantry component of the Imperial Navy. The ZBD amphibious assault vehicles and NNS marines stormed the beaches, showing some lack in training at times but generaly showing average skill during their operation. After this last operation of the NADI exercise the carrier strike group also returned to port.
Overall the IMSC and Imperial Ministry of War describe the NADI exercise as "highly succesfull" with chief of the imperial staff Luděk Charvát stating that:
These exercises have given the IMSC, Imperial Naval Command and the Ministry of War a valuable inside in the effectiveness of our fleets and have provided valuable lessons to our naval crews. By training so extensively we keep our people focussed and learn them the ins and outs of their own ship, jet or equipment giving them a extra edge during any engagement.
The Imperial Ministry of War states that it does not "turn away" the possibility for the exercise to be repeated in the future.
