Cachtice: As the Deltarian economy continues to stumble, Recently falling to 6th place in the global economic rankings, the new unity government led by Premier Malík has presented and passed its major economic package, meant to revitalize the economy and bring renewed focus on innovative sectors and Deltaria's manufacturing sector. Energy and defense also play a large role in the plan.
The set of reforms and investments, passed by 423 to 0 vote in the Federal Chamber, seeks to "restart the Deltarian spirit of hard work and innovation" according to ED minister Lukáš Němeček who presented the passed plans to the press. He stated that his ministry will "work closely with other ministries in the council of ministers to ensure a proper execution of this enormous task, which seeks to revitalize and renew the Deltarian promise without putting a burden on future generations." The plan seeks to take surplus spending from the current ministries, putting them in a big fund meant to realize the ambitions of the passed package. This would amount to over 190 billion in funds, meant to spend on thinks like innovation subsidies, a transition to nuclear energy and a big investment package for the manufacturing sector.

Another big aspect is the planned 50 billion investment into the Armed Forces, meant to modernize existing equipment and further professionalize the force. The Ministry of War has already announced it is working with a variety of defense companies to prepare new models for existing equipment meant as a "midlife" upgrade. These include the Zeca main battle tank, The BTM fighting vehicles and infantry equipment as well as the RIG-35 jets in the airforce and some currently operational ship variants that will all receive a midlife upgrade. The Ministry did announce that none of the to be reserved funds will be used for equipment aquisition, rather focussing on improving already existing equipment. The Ministry for Economic Development has laid out a roadmap for the other investments in the plan, seeking to invest 100 billion from the surplus fund in creating a variety of subsidies for innovation, manufacturing expansion, transition to renewable and nuclear energy as well as durectly investing into manufacturing companies and cutting certain regulations to attract more of them to settle in Deltaria. The reform would also set loose regulations on daily working hours, instead allowing trade unions and employers to negotiate over them in a effort to make the employment market more flexible in the long term and encourage more production.

The last part of the presented plan announces the creation of 6 new agencies, which will be tasked with reviewing ministerial policies and providing advice to both the ministry and Federal Parliament. According to Němeček these agencies will "ensure a fairer and more transparant government, capable of providing sound policies to its citizens and will also help the government itself, by getting another layer of advice to design and execute policy."
All the reforms and plans are to be put in motion in this governing period, with the ambition of Premier Malík to see the effects of the renewal reforms and investments by the end of the term, putting Deltaria back on the map as a economic player of importance after more then 10 years of economic crisis.

Cachtice: The Deltarian Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of War have announced that they will withdraw the 20 SU-25 close-air support aircraft currently supporting the Kombara regime in Vorona following a damning report that suggest Deltaria did nothing as chemical attacks killed hundreds in the north of the country. In a statement the Foreign Minister Filip Brabec stated that Deltaria, "dissaproves greatly" of the chemical attacks near Gatford from earlier this month and "condemnds this despicable act in the highest of terms." Because of the attack and the criticism that is mounting up the ministry, in discussion with the premier and war ministry, has decided to pull out all air support for the Kombara regime. Weirdly enough the 200 advisors present in the country to advise Voronan forces against the rebels in its civil war will remain in place, thus still providing limited support to this regime. When questioned on the remaining advisors Brabec stated that "Deltaria continues to believe that the State of Vorona is the official and legitimate government of Vorona but does want to show our disgust at the use of chemical weapons by the government of president Kombara. We will continue to provide advisory support, also as a means to keep an eye on military activities in the country, but will pull back combat assets as a signal that these acts will not be tolerated."

A report by the Voronan Times however suggests that just two days ago Deltaria had approved a arms sale to the Kombara government worth over 100 million with a big discount worth several million, providing new munitions, weaponry and uniforms to the Voronan National Army of Kombara. Brabec refused to comment on the deal but it shows that Deltaria, despite pulling its own combat forces, continues to support this brutal regime now clearly committing war crimes.

TV3, Čachtice: President Henrietta, when asked about Vorona-crisis, and involvement of Deltarian government in it, said: “I deeply support the help of Terran countries for Vorona democratization, but I don’t think, it could possible go through the military involvement. The civil war - is a crime aganist Voronan people and all involved should be punished. Malík government policy towards Vorona is a big mistake, that brang Deltaria a new bad image on international arena, that took money from our people and taxpayers, to give additional spending to military, when don’t even need it. Economical crisis didn’t stop. I don’t think, why Malík government should still exist.”

Prior dissolution vote in parliament, the second-biggest party NRS dissolved, due to the internal problems. Which created a lot of talks, whether should or not snap elections be called. A few days later, PAP also stated about it’s collapse due to conflicts of interest and internal problem, which only created even more agreements on a new election.

Finally, vote got into chamber. Surely, it will pass, and it’s only of when, not if, whether we will see a new election.

Cachtice: The KDU, or Conservative Democratic Union, has stormed back onto the political stage, taking the second spot in the recent election and winning over 114 seats in total. Due to this result, the party has entered a new coalition government together with the NVS, creating a center right to right wing government for the coming years. The KDU was formerly the main ruling party of Deltaria, ruling the country for a large part of its democratic history. It was founded by a man named Alois Horak, who himself led the country for years. In the end increased electoral competition, poor results and a lack of direction caused the KDU to dissolve. But now, almost 150 years after its disolving, it has been reformed by a relative of former founded Alois Horak named Ladislav Horak. Horak stated that the fall of several parties on the political landscape and the volatile nature of Deltaria's politics in recent years was a big part in his decision to revive the once popular political party and with success, drawing voters from both the former PAP and NRS to become the second largest party in the first election they participated in, creating a atmosphere of opportunity.

I think there really is room for a party like the KDU again. We are both stable and fresh, we have good ideas to advance into the future but also stand strong for our ideals and traditions. What Deltaria needs most right now is a stable political force and the KDU seeks to deliver that. Our main goal is finishing this full term, no early elections and no scandals, that is what Deltarians deserve. We have changed slightly since last time around. Ofcourse the KDU also needs to evolve. But i am determined to let the people know we are a good middle ground party that stands up for traditional rights and is pragmatic to finding solutions to our daring times.

The party its succes might be a big hint to its future. Horak stated in the same interview that while the party does not actively advocate for the return of the monarchy "we are not against it either. We go with the flow as my friends would say it." Opening the door to a move in this area. In a recent poll, 71% of Deltarians were in favour of a return to monarchy, citing the "lack of visible stability in the current political system." Even with these polls and the general sentiment in the population it seems unlikely that the monarchy will return, with only the NVS being actively in favour of the idea and all other parties being either impartial or against. The KDU also seems to have shift when it comes to economic policy. In the old times the KDU was a proponent of big government and a mixed economy but that seems to have shifted, with its first party congress upon its founding voting for a "Hosian Market Economy" which translates into a sort of Ordoliberalist approach, where the government seeks to encourage the private economy but regulates it and keeps in mind the "social aspect of a private economy" and maintaining a strong social safety net. The party remains to seek its traditional religious support, advocating for more conservative social stances.

Cachtice: The Deltarian Military, specifically Deltarian Missile Command falling under the Ground Forces, has launched a test that saw it shoot down one of its decomissioned sattelites in orbit around terra. The test, which was conducted a few days ago, was meant to demonstrate Deltaria's capability of using its ground based missile systems to launch anti sattelite attacks. During the test a anti-sattelite missile was fired from a S-300 ground based missile defense system using a specific computing configuration. The missile, specifically designed for anti-sattelite warfare, was launched into space and struck the target minutes after launch. The impact caused the sattelite to disintergrate, with researchers from the FSA stating that the explosion resulted in over 12 million pieces of new debree being released in orbit, citing condemnation from some international organizations. The Military Command Staff issued a press release afterwards, stating that the exercise was "a complete succes that demonstrates Deltaria's capabilities of defending itself."

Since the 50 billion investment to the Armed Forces was cleared the Ministry of War, Military Command Staff and private contractors have been working to upgrade and modernize existing equipment. In this modernization a budget of 5 billion was included for the development of new missiles capable of being used on current missile systems. One of such missiles is the S-10B, a anti sattelite missile that was now thus succesfully tested. It is the first time that Deltaria has developed and tested a anti-sattelite missile, giving it a new capability not present before. The military has also been working with contracter Radnek to develop a new main battle tank, set to replace the hundreds of Zeca tanks currently in service. Previously the MOW wanted to look for options to upgrade the Zeca, but these were deemed not to be feasible. Thus a order was put out to develop a new main battle tanks "featuring modern characteristics, strong armour and a fighting punch." The MOW seeks to aquire much less tanks then there are currently in service. With the ministry stating that it wants "a more advanced tank capable of modern warfare" and thus needs less in numbers, opting for quality over quantity when it comes to its procurement. The same counts for the airforce and navy, where a number of aircraft and ships are receiving midlife upgrades in the Ushalande shipyards. Examples of this are the RIG-35, which will be upgraded to the earlier announced RiG-35B, which features new combat computers, new hydraulic systems, a upgraded missile set and a new system for countermeasure deployment. Cachtice: With a new government in place and its economic plans in full swing the private economy is seeing some encouraging numbers for the first time in over a decade. The new government, a center-right coalition between the NVS and KDU, has vouched to abide by a earlier economic plan passed by the Federal Chamber, which authorized major investments in the energy sector as well as subsidies for bussinesses, innovation and a variety of market reforms aimed at giving companies more room to expand under a set of regulations. Why on earth in the midst of the Vorona Fiasco would NVS join in a coalition with KDU?

Prokop:

Currently, the Head of State must propose a Council of Ministers or leave a holdover cabinet in place. Here is our thinking. NVS represents a certain constituency but not by any stretch a majority or even a majority of centrists or center right voters. With the collapse of the NRS, we believe those reviving the KDU saw a rather large unrepresented constituency for which it could be the voice. The NVS gamble is that this is the KDU motivation and not some deep seated urge to Deltarian Intervention. We regard Deltarian Intervention not as a partisan political position but as a temptation that from time to time consumes some officials in power. And rather often. This was our thinking and our gamble.

Why did you not run for reelection when Spolkovy Prezident

Prokop:

The NVS generally believes and has stated this was a miscalculation. The thinking at the time was that I was elected in an election called by the military who had just deposed someone NVS had generally supported that was perceived as a dictator. We saw our task first of all was to demonstrate that government could function without being a dictatorship. Second we sought to govern with sufficient propriety to not tempt the military to depose another elected government forthwith. And third, we thought to sustain democracy for a while it would be best to transfer control to another party rather than look we were trying to follow the dictatorial practices for which the military deposed our predecessor. In retrospect NVS feels that risk should have been taken.

So what now?

Probably the biggest priority is to work with the Security Council to facilitate some resolution of the crisis in Vorona the mistakes of certain Federace Deltarska officials created. There is famine, there are refuges, there are war criminals, there are three or four factions contending for power and there are no peace talk. Lot to do. There is also the question of who sold chemical weapons to the Kombara faction. I am assured we did not. But how did Kombara get them?

Second, of course we need to continue taking the steps necessary to come out of the economic downturn. Obviously trade abroad could be a key. We are looking first to Majatra most likely through the Majatran Association as a way forward.

Third, very likely we will be returning to monarchy. This is a measure NVS has long favored and we are working with other parties in the Spolkova Komura to make this possibility a reality.

TV3, Čachtice: Protests erupt in Čachtice as governments became more unpopular and economically unstable for Deltaria. Hundreds of thousands of Deltarians and capital citizens march through city and governmental buildings, chanting and demanding from government to put a monarchy restoration question, and yet another early elections quetions on referendum.
Many thousand of people, in solidarity with capital protests, started protests in different regional cities: Branovice, Sörpatak, Feketevár, Ştefăneşti, Ȝeomorceaster. Even Governor of Alazinder and Mayor of Branovice (both SPO members) supported the protests, saying "Government trying to take the federal rights away, and yet give no attention to big regional problems, that need a support of Central Government. Regional and Republican governments lack communication with Čachtice, with President and Premier. We lost it years ago, but we want and we will demand it back, right with protesters".

Leader of Opposition, Ivona Grigorescu, attended the protests, aswell as most of SPO members. SPO supported protests aganist government, but was ignorant on matter of restoration of monarchy. "Government has almost no idea what it's doing. Government should leave Vorona, and show either it's innocense, or be proven guilty, whether government has broken international law. Many governments changed, yet Deltaria still suffer. Yet we lose our jobs, and feel the economical recession. Deltaria has went from Csarist tyrany to a federal democratic one. Decades of right-wing governments has got us into this. We tried to work with them, we used every tool we had to make our country better, but government after government, president after president, they betreyed us, they betreyed you - Deltarians. We need changes, you need changes. So let's make our best, and demand reforms from government!", - said Grigorescu.

Government did quick response on protests, saying it could support and start the process of referendum on both demanded questions. Now, it's a question of time, when referendum will be approved by Chamber, and put on a public vote. Referendum needs to be approved by a two thirds of vote in Federal Chamber, yet, right now, support for it lacks few votes, which are expected to come from SPO, which has different opinions on this question for years, as party has been a historical catch-all, yet, left-leaning party, which had it's unstable outcomes as worst results of SPO in elections. Even still have not had approved by FC, campaign for referendum has already started, with different sides agitating for "Yes" and "No" campaigns.

MONARCHY AND VORONA UPDATES FROM INTERIOR

Interim Interior Headquarters, November 22, 5032: Interior Minister Slavomir Chrobak responded to ZLOUTENE OKO asking about actions on Vorona after he met with Premier Jankova at Interim Interior Headquarters:

Premier Evzenie Jankova has ordered the State Directorate of Intelligence (SRPZ) to withdraw any and all SRPZ personnel remaining in Vorona and ordered the Chief of the National Defense Staff to withdraw any and all National Armed Forces from Vorona forthwith except for the small contingent serving in our Embassy. Further, the Premier has ordered the Chief of the National Defense Staff to insure that no new supplies, weapons or equipment of any type are delivered to the Kombara Regime.

Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO about peace talks, Chrobak responded:

The Premier has not heard from the Embassy or any other entity public or private of any offer of peace talks from any quarter. She has directed the Embassy to report any contacts it receives concerning willingness to negotiate forthwith. Federace Deltarska is cooperating with the Security Council in its efforts to relieve the famine and end the civil war. This could include sending troops as part of a Security Council force but none have been authorized as yet.

Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO about the demonstrations in Cahtice and elsewhere, Chrobak stated:

Well, the National Police is on standby and ready to reinforce local police; however, even though the crowds have been quite large they have been peaceful to date and so my orders to the various National Police units in various locations has been to let the local police handle crowd control if it is at all possible. So far as indicated the crowds have been peaceful. Likely it helped that the SPO leader spoke to them and that the Constitutional Amendment restoring the monarchy is under consideration in the Spolkova Komora.

Asked by ZLOUTENE OKO if the measure would become law, The Interior Minister responded:

No idea. KDU and NVS are voting for it and LSK is likely against. So it is looks like it will be entirely up to SPO whether the necessary 2/3 support in the Federal Chamber is reached. So it goes.

Office of the Premier, May 18, 5033: The Office of Premier Evzenie Jankova issued the following statement:

The Spolkova Komora has passed legislation restoring the monarchy. His Grace Aleximov I of the House of Branohov is now our sovereign. Novy Verny Svaz has always favored this outcome and whole - heartedly supports it. But we readily acknowledge the actual impetus for taking this step seems to have come from the heart of our sovereign people.

We face many challenges ahead but are encouraged by the happy result of many people with disparate interests working together on a goal and bringing about a real change and one for the better at that.
