Deltaria's 'finest' take over

The nobility of Deltaria. Few other bodies or groups are more divisive in public opinion than they. Workshy leeches or prestigious upholders of Deltarian traditions. Their story is that of a wheel of fortune itself. Up one time, down another and back again. This time, they are in ascent once again.

Deltaria's finest have stepped in to stop what they call 'Pápežsky socialism' from developing further. The impending nationalisation of land and the largest corporations in the country was viewed as an attack on the nobility as a body and as it loves to see itself - the holders of the keys of stability in the country. It was the Palatine of the Apostolic Palace Vojvoda Tankréd z Ohnivý who ordered palace servants to arrest the Pápež Mircea I. Having dismissed all his staff and most of his Dissuwan Guard, the 80 year old Pápež was easy prey. It was under confinement that the Pápež issued a Bull appointing the Vojvoda as Palatine of not just the Palace but the entirety of the Pápežský States. At the same time dozens of noble allies moved to secure strategic points across the country and the noble dominated Army officers rolled their eyes.

Vojvoda Ohnivý

The Vojvoda's palace coup was not a surprise to most Deltarians - indeed many wondered when the nobility would intervene. It came with the grudging support of the middle class, frustrated at higher taxes and the strict moral laws imposed by the Church. The Vojvoda announced a government dominated by fellow nobles. He has been careful to appear not to abuse the Pápež and had placed him in comfortable quarters. The Pápež and his Kardinals have all been confined to the Apostolic Palace yet the Vojvoda insists that the country remains the same. He received foreign diplomats explaining the situation and still referred to the country as the Pápežský States.

MONARCHY MAKES A COMEBACK

After several years of indecisive nobility rule, one person has asserted their claim on the throne of Deltaria. That person is none other than 26-year old Baroness Marazanna Volkov, niece of the late Czar. To say this is untraditional is an understatement. If she does inherit the throne, she will be the first Czarina to rule in over a thousand years.

With popular support, it does indeed look like she will inherit. Tired from years under the rule of the Papéz and anarchy, the Baroness seems like a gift from Boh. Indeed, many people have taken to call her "Deltaria's Lady", referring to her as a guardian angel come to save Deltaria. She has promised "A safe house and a loaf of bread for all Deltarians."

While there is a significant potion of the reactionary nobility that are calling the idea of a woman inheriting the throne "an abomination", the majority have seen the writing on the wall and have joined the celebrating commoners in the streets, hoping to join the possible Czarina's wave of popularity.

She is set to inherit the throne within the next year. May Boh choose the rightful ruler for our beautiful land.

MARAZANNA I CROWNED,DECLARES SUPPORT FOR UFLJ

Her Exalted Majesty Marazanna I has successfully inherited the throne. Thousand of loyal Deltarians celebrated the return of the monarchy to our once troubled country. May she guide our land to glory!

True to her words, she has already hit the nation with sweeping reforms, legalizing pornography and religious freedom(among other things), joys that were lost during the oppressive reign of the Church. Following with her compassion for the common person, she also took the opportunity to declare her support for the United Front for Liberation and Justice in Zardugal, saying:

All Zards live blindly in oppressive conditions, but the Mallans and Ahmadis are some of the most hated victims. Like Deltarians in Zardugal, they are routinely persecuted for their race/religion. The corrupt Zardic government uses them as scapegoats for their countries' failures, when in reality it is the government itself.

Her Glorious Majesty, after speaking these infinitely wise and heart-touching words, also announced that Deltaria would be sending financial aid and allowing refuge for those brave protesters who refuse to be victims any longer. May Boh grant them strength in their fight for justice!

DELTARIAN TROOPS MASS ON KALOPIAN BORDER
Could something big be in store?
Image

The Deltarian First Army, consisting of 120,000 troops divided between infantry, artillery, and armored combat, has moved to a stationary position on the Kalopian border. No formal announcement has been made and no formal declaration of war or otherwise hostilities has been declared, but the troops are there regardless.

This is a dramatic shift in Deltarian foreign policy as it has been for the last ten years: Her Majesty's policy so far has been the indirect support of radical and anti-government elements within rival Majatran nations. The possible direct use of troops could put to an end the decades long era of peace that has culminated in one of the most stable periods of Deltarian history since Viliam I's rule. Many Deltarians started to actually encourage war, wanting Deltaria to be "expanded to its natural borders."

Kalopia, too, has always been a relatively quiet nation in terms of foreign affairs, and though not known for its stability, it will probably not take an invasion lightly.

CZARINA:"I WILL NOT BACK DOWN"
Image

Her Majesty the Czarina. Few Deltarian monarchs have faced her struggles and lived to tell about it. Women are normally not welcome at all in the circle of Deltarian politics, but after the initial reactionary revolts she has brought stability to the country and respect for her name. She has proved herself more than capable of meeting Deltaria's needs, but now she must prove herself capable again. Not that it needs proving, of course.

Kalopia is continually threatening to turn into a Zardic vassal state. Every able-minded Deltarian will understand that a Zardic ally on the border is one of the gravest threats to Deltaria's security and well being. Clearly it is some Zardic dog's plot to finally take over the Motherland! What a dark day that will be! The Zardic dogs care not, for men, women and children will all suffer their rage. They will burn homes, they will loot stores, they will turn our great nation into the finest example of human suffering the world over! But that will never happen, as long as we listen to our dearest Czarina.

Her Majesty, in Her infinite wisdom, has pressured Kalopia into backing down. It proved successful, until the Solentian rats, historic Zardic sympathizers, declared their support for Kalopia. See how the nations of Majatra gang up on Deltaria out of fear. But Deltaria is stronger. We have almost doubled the number of troops on the Kalopian border, creating an unstoppable force of 225,000 that shall never be defeated and bring Deltaria her rightful glory! In addition, any Kalopian or Solentian citizens have been removed from our holy land. Never again shall they befoul our sacred ground.

The Czarina asks all Deltarians to stay strong, for we may need it in the days to come. Glory to the Czarina! Glory to Deltaria!

"ZARDUGAL WILL BACK DOWN OR SUFFER THE CONSEQUENCES"

The glorious Deltarian government, delayed by a possible conflict with Kalopia, has turned its sights to Vorona. Zardic imperialists have once again attempted to expand the Zardic empire, and their hate for mankind and lust for power has driven them to Deltaria Nova, the former jewel in the Deltarian crown and now an independent state. Czar Jaromir III pledged Deltarian support for the island in the event of war. We, as Deltarians, are bound to honor that promise.

Her Majesty the Czarina issued orders to mobilize the tireless Deltarian forces stationed near Kalopia, and move them near the southern most Deltarian-Jelbanian border, where the troops shall be ready to quickly respond to the situation. But even Zardic dogs need mercy. Her Majesty, in her infinite grace and mercy, has ordered Zardugal to back away from Vorona, and threatened the use of military force to "defend a rightful part of the Deltarian empire."

VORONA ANNEXED;TAKES BACK RIGHTFUL PLACE IN THE EMPIRE
Image

Vorona, or Deltaria Nova as it is more properly called, has officially voted to return to the Deltarian Empire. Countless generations of Deltarian leaders have sought to bring our island brothers back into our fold. Now, our illustrious and eternal Czarina Marazanna I has successfully expanded the Empire to more of its rightful territory. Celebrations took place outside the Royal Palace, with a stunning military parade followed by fireworks and a reception held by Her Majesty in the palace itself.

There are still issues concerning the degree of self-management, the possible incorporation of the Voronan army, and the differentiations on civil rights issues, but we must first celebrate what Boh and Her Majesty have given us! Long live Deltaria! Long live Deltaria Nova! Long live the Czarina!

CZARINA DEFENDS NATION AND ALLIES FROM ZARDIC "CRITICISM"

The Czarina, in a speech today, spoke out against growing resentment towards Deltaria's rightful reannexation of Deltaria Nova. They never cared about the island until we reincorporated it, but of course they accuse Deltaria of being an aggressive imperialist. Shameful.

The Zardic mouthpiece speaking against our reclaim on what is ours is none other than Beitenyu, the horrible theocracy filled with hypocrisy and false witness. They have been particularly vocal about this ordeal, and have openly stated they have "sent peace keepers" to Deltaria. Her Majesty, in her infinite wisdom, responded:

I have taken a very personal hand in running the Deltarian government. Not one ambassador can enter or leave this country without my knowledge. And I can personally assure you, I promise you, I swear upon all that is good and righteous, in Boh's name, I say:There are no "peace makers" in Deltaria. The government of Beitenyu has not even bothered to contact me or anyone else in government on the matter.

If they complain that their ambassadors are not making progress, perhaps they should ensure that they actually exist first

The Czarina also went on to criticize a possible Zardic embargo on the Khaganate and suggested that further economic sanctions on the Zardic dogs may be neccesary.

TERRAN PATRIARCHAL CHURCH INDICTED IN BRIBERY SCHEME

Image
The once holy institution is now a den of thieves

Leading Church officials have been arrested and put on trial after a large scale bribery scheme. From their home base in Čachtice to the West to the North, countless officials have been charged with the bribery of public officials to avoid countless laws and regulations. An assembly of nobles indicted thousands of clergy members and several senior Church officials. The Papez himself was not found guilty, but Her Majesty the Czarina, in Her infinite wisdom, criticized His Holiness in a passionate and beautiful speech:

You treacherous dogs, you have soiled the good name of Boh. You vile snakes. The Papéz himself, Boh's supposed representative to Terra, has shown he is indeed not worthy of such a task. He did not raise a finger to stop this insolence against our Lord. He has insulted Boh the most of all. The good Church has been corrupted by thieves; I will turn it into a holy institution once more

His supposed Holiness the Papéz, in an official statement, said that these accusations are false and that no clergyman would ever bribe an official. The Czarina and her court disagree.

Her Majesty Marazanna I has convened a mandatory negotiation session with high ranking Church officials to decide on the fate of the religion. Her Majesty has gone in determined to reform it, but what will she do? We can only wait and see.

THE CZARINA IS DEAD;LONG LIVE THE CZAR
Image
The portrait of the passed czarina now finds itself in many windows

Her Majesty Czarina Marazanna I passed away in her sleep at the age of 74. Her almost 50 year reign was a time of stability and expansion, bringing back the territory of Deltaria Nova under the Deltarian fold. Not once was Deltaria at war during her reign, and yet Zardic imperialism was successfully resisted time and time again. Truly she shall be remembered throughout the ages. She was such an inspiring character that we have been forbidden from speaking about her death until two years after the fact, in the hopes to avoid a panic.

The throne is now occupied by her son, Czar Jozef I. Educated in the finest universities around the world, the Czar has had some different ideas about an ideal monarch. He ended the ban on multiple political parties and stopped government censorship of anti-government speech. This, consequently, reduced his power dramatically and left him a mere figurehead in the picture of government. Jozef I has stated his desire to be a "Czar of the people" but has grown reluctant over the Veche's increasingly republican governing. Will this lead to conflict, or can there be a happy medium?
