ZLOUTENE OKOSRPZ UPDATES REPORT TO PREZIDENTCarsky Ukryt, January 18, 5204: ZLOUTENE OKO has learned another report on the investigation of the Siroky assassination by the State Directorate of Intelligence (SRPZ) was filed with the Office of the Prezident, but no official comment has been made on it.
ZLOUTENE OKO sources within SRPZ and Carsky Ukryt indicates the report addressed five matters.
One is that there is some long standing resentment and criticism of Republika Deltarska in some circles throughout Majatra because of past conflicts and rivalries, but these feelings do not appear to have led to any hostile action toward us official or otherwise.
In Dovani generally and North Dovani, there is little love for Republika Deltarska whose history with Dovani includes a great deal of conflict. The general feeling as near as SRPZ has been able to gauge it is Dovani wants Deltaria to stay out. On the other hand SRPZ has detected no plans either by independent groups or organized states to exact revenge for past actions.
As to North Dovani, Deltaria intervened following lead of the Istalian Empire which led to current regime. The main hostility we detected toward Republika Deltarska was that it was among those on Security Council voting for wae crimes investigation which is opposed by the North Dovani current government. Again, SRPZ detects a desire for Deltaria to stay out.
Third, obviously with Trigunia favoring one group and Deltaria favoring another in the North Dovani Civil War, there has been quite a bit of criticism of Deltaria in many circles including official government circles in Trigunia. The criticism of Deltaria has centered around perceived hypocrisy in opposing intervention in Dovani or indeed anywhere.
With that said, SRPZ has discovered no actual move official or otherwise emanating from Trigunia trying to translate the hostile attitude present into hostile action toward Prezident Siroky or Republika Deltarska. SRPZ is well aware this in sharp contrast to the conclusion of the Minister of Interior. SRPZ operatives are going to continue investigating and all seem to agree that the National Security Service (NSS) knows something SRPZ does not and that the NSS would not use scopolamine on the perpetrator in its custody.
Fourth, with respect to the family of Vyacheslav Antonov and the descendants of followers of the Hosian Cleric Jaromir Toman who were friends of his parents, many including the mother of Antonov appear to be quite willing to manipulate someone to violence to achieve their ends. On the other hand, SRPZ believes Antonov was pretty much ignored by all of them as a rather unattractive boring person interested in the movies more than any serious ideas; all in all “a dull tool” as his brother often said. Manipulating him seems therefore to be unlikely as too tedious an undertaking for self important pseudointellectuals.
Then there is the check from Amalgamated Consolidated Convergences to Antonov deposited into his account in the Keris Credit Union. SRPZ has found that Amalgamated Consolidated Convergences was incorporated by persons with names which appear to be in use by speakers of Rodshya. Of the three, seventeen people with one of the names has been located but known with any conceivable relation to this inquiry. The second name is that of a recently deceased baker and a serving Navy cook. As to the third name, Oleg Bogdanovich Borisov, SRPZ ruled out six including one deceased. The seventh was arrested a week ago in Naban. He is not talking but appears a small time swindler. SRPZ is of the opinion he could be one of the incorporators.
SRPZ is of divided opinion although no one really believes the online evidence of the account is really a payment to Antonov. SRPZ on the whole believes someone wants to involve Trigunia although the evidence is so riddled with holes the majority opinion is it is a hoax. A few in SRPZ believe it is a transparent hoax to convince SRPZ Trigunia was not involved. The State Director of Intelligence personally believes someone in SRPZ concocted this evidence with a friend close to the Underground to embarrass SRPZ.
Prezident VajanskaZLOUTENE OKOCOUNCIL OF MINISTERS DISCUSSES ASSASSINATION RESPONSIBILITYPresidential Palace, January 19, 5204: The Council of Ministers met to discuss the allegation of Trigunian involvement in the assassination of Prezident Siroky and what if anything to do about them. The meeting was considered secret.
ZLOUTENE OKO learned a great deal about the proceedings however from its confidential sources in the government. Prezident Vajanska noted correctly that security was insufficient to reveal the actual highly classified documents on which the Interior minister was relying.
Foreign Minister Kovac indicated there had been a denial by the government of Trigunia. Since there was the accusation by interior, Kovac felt thanking them for the denial might be inappropriate.
Finance Minister opined that unless Antonov talked we might never know who if anyone was involved. The Prezident pointed out that SRPZ had really found no convincing evidence of involvement in its area of investigation but did have impression someone was pointing to Trigunia.
Defense Minister Hovicky indicated military intelligence did not indicate any hostile military moves in our direction. He did have a suggestion. Since the Head of State who was Commander in Chief was assassinated, a special military tribunal could be convened to try the case of Antonov and any coconspirators identified as actually involved based on the evidence. The Minister of Justice could have the case presented to the Tribunal with assistance of the NSS investigators and the Interior Ministry supervisors.
Prezident Vajanska said an alternative would be the Supreme Court rather than a Military Tribunal.
Foreign Minister Kovac suggested that even though Republika Deltarska looks ridiculous making an accusation and then being totally silent about what it intends to do, that appeated to him to be the best course for now. The Prezident agreed.
She then asked the Interior and Justice Minister Ministers to meet and recommend a course of action against Antonov and anyone apparently feloniously connected to him. They should upon reaching agreement confer with nher. She anticipated a trial monitored by her through her staff and SRPZ. Should evidence be developed warranting more drastic actiob she would move on that at that time.
