Chair of Grand Council Augustin Von Thaller Dies- Succeeded by Adawolf I Von Thaller
August 4380

In the month that bears his name, one of the key forces behind the establishment of the Grand Republic has passed away. He was given a full state funeral attended by the other members and by figures of state. Many Deltarians saw him as a moderate able to satisfy the both Thallerists and the more Liberal elements of the country. The Grand Council has decided to elect Adawolf I Von Thaller to his position and the spot left vacant by Augustin will be filled by Adawolf I Von Thaller. Adawolf is a known appreciator of the Doron Language and has already pushed for steps to rename the nation to create a Principality and have the official name spelt in Doron.

Deltarian Ogliarch to Begin the Battlefield Museum Project

Vladan Zima, one of the Richest Businessmen in Deltaria has announced his plans to buy the sites of some major battles in Deltarian History. He plans to create exhibits for each of them and hire some historical experts to work at the sites. Tourists would be able to view and use some of the weapons, Uniforms and armour and so forth at these sites. He plan is to make the sites look the way they did at the time of battle. This would allow tourists, historians and battle re-enactors to use the sites for a few. Zima is planning to buy the sites off of the owners for extreme sums of money to get a quick acceptance though it is possible that some resistance could be encountered from some who have formed an attachment to the land.

Zima buys Loděnice Hill

Deltarian Ogliarch Vladan Zima has begun his battlefield restoration project with the purchase of the land on Loděnice Hill, the site of a major battle in 1953. Initially, the locals were quite resistant to giving up their land but Zima continuously upped his offer until they had an offer that could not be refused. Each of these former landowners have found themselves very wealthy following this purchase. Loděnice Hill was also the site of Gold and Silver mines that provided much of the Daralian foreign exchange. Though long since dried up, these details are likely to be replicated in full. It was one of the major battles of The Terror, an era of civil war. He also plans to allow for shops to set up and lease the land in certain parts of the battlefield considering the large maintenance costs of such an area. The main work of replication will likely be the two trench lines the hill itself and the Disswuan positions. Some replicas of the small arms, artillery guns and tanks will also be brought in as a showcase.

Note: Sourced from On a cold night in Čachtice
Lodenice Hill, or Lodeinoe Pole as the Trigunians called it after a town in Kildan Olvar, was a defensive position thought impenetrable. It was the last defensible position before Cachtice. Inside and around the hill were the iron and coal mines that kept the Daralian war machine running, gold and silver mines that provided the country's foreign exchange, and the second-largest rail junction in Deltaria, moving the metals from the mines to the factories in Cachtice and supplying besieged Hradec Kralove with desperately needed food and ammunition. The two lines of trenches stopped the Ushalandian and Dissuwan assaults, and the 100,000 man Trigunian Expeditionary Force had arrived just when the defenders were almost outnumbered. From the second trench, on the crest of the hill, Lieutenant Ivan Smolenak directed the fire of 3rd Battery. His "Mala Alzbeta" (Little Elizabeth) guns managed to stop several tank attacks dead in their tracks, if the tanks' tracks even survived.

"Szent Zsitomir!"

Invoking Saint Jitomir, a Deltarian king who fought the Majatrans, the Dissuwans attacked. Lieutenant Smolenak looked through his binoculars and directed the artillery fire. From the Trigunian section of the line, a bugle call sounded. The Trigunians retreated without consulting the Daralian commanders, leaving the defenders in the lurch. The Dissuwans filled the empty section of the trench and cleared it out in brutal hand-to-hand fighting. The defenders that were still alive retreated. Nobody who was in the Daralian Army on that day would ever forgive General Konstantin Fedorovich Streltsov for his cowardly retreat.

Life of Zog Thaller to be Re-Created in TV Series Comissioned by Zima
September 4387

Almost a Century Since his death, the life of Zog Thaller will be showcased to the world. Although dying at the age of 36, he had a major impact on the festivities of Kalopia, Deltaria and Jelbania. From his early days as son of Kalopian Tyrant Malgus Thaller to his eventual death from a heart attack just 24 hours before his assumed election as the H’an of Jelbania. The now well known Ogliarch Vladan Zima who is in the middle of another project to recreate old battlefields has paid a team of writers and a director to oversee production after which they will start auditions for the actors.

The first episodes will likely touch on the dying days of Malgus Thaller’s Kalopian Dictatorship, his kidnaping and Zog’s mother Urani smuggling the family out of Kalopia into Deltaria and the last ones will likely feature Zog’s involvement in the Jelbek Civil War.

Chair of the Deltarian Grand Council Atawulf Von Thaller expresses his support of the venture and indicated that the Thaller family would be willing to cover some of the costs behind production should Zima need it.

Deltaria "Worried about Ultra Nationalist Jelbeks"
July 4388
Following news of the victory of the Jeztris in the rigged Jelbanian election,Deltarian officials are worried that the years of progress that relations have been made since the end of the Jelbek invasion nearly a century ago will be undone. Foreign Minister Ret. Adm. Jan Klaus issued this breif statement about the dangers of an Ultra-Nationalist Jelbania on Deltaria's frontier.

Our nation will have to be alert for it is fairly possible that the Jelbeks will invade as they did nearly a century ago. Make no mistake, Deltaria is ready yet another war will cost us greatly. In the previous war we had an exceptional commander in Zog Thaller who likely saved us from fighting a costlier war. We can't rely on heroes like him appearing in our time of need.

Thallerist Paramillitary to Deploy at Border
Following the recent taking power of the Jeztri, 20,000 Doron Akigan Thaller Paramillitary troops have been based at the border with Jelbania in the town of Zog. Zog, formerly Eugene was almost completely destroyed during the Jelbek invasion almost a century ago and the deployment is seen as a symbolic gesture that the death and destruction of the previous war would not be allowed to happen again.

New TV Series “Zog” Goes Live

October 4388

The new series on Zog Thaller began production a bit over a year ago and has now aired on Deltarian television as well as in countries all over Terra. There are 20 40 minutes episodes which cover the life of Zog Thaller from beginning to end.

Spoiler Warning:

The first episode starts with a prologue of Zog’s father Malgus taking power in Kalopia and the birth of Zog himself.Following this, there is coverage of the Thaller family summit in Narikaton where many of the major characters are introduced. Several years are fast forwarded and we see Malgus’s regime on the verge of collapse due to international sanctions. At the end of the episode, Malgus is kidnaped by Dorvish operatives at the very end of this episode. The series then moves onto Zog’s mother Urani smuggling the family out of civil war torn Kalopia and fleeing to Thallerist Deltaria. The focus is shifted onto the Deltarian Szoke Norbert Von Thaller consolidating his position into that of a Czar with the assistance of both blue and red Thallerists.

Some of the key events of the period are then seen in the next few episodes with a generally fast pace until 4277 is reached where the Jelbeks in Deltaria are expelled from the country into Jelbania. They are portrayed as savage brutes often committing crimes and disturbing the rest of the population. Zog now in his early twenties is one of the soldiers taking Jelbeks into custody and forcing them accross the border into Jelbania. What follows next is Szoke Norbert’s command for Deltaria to join the new Augustan Empire angering many Deltarian Nationalists. The Thallerists are completely pummeled in the 4279 elections for this enough so that the Czar himself is ousted and a republic is put in place. Over the next 10 years Zog is seen planning the Thallerist comeback In Deltarian Politics with his close friend Norbert I Von Thaller. They succeed in 4289 by rebranding the Thallerist movement and Norbert becomes president of the Republic. The legislature despite having a large Thallerist presence still has a slight Anti-Thallerist majority whom form a cabinet on their own.

Zog returns to manage the Thallerist Paramillitary Forces while the disunited cabinet and president attempt to govern the country but cannot reach a proper compromise. The tenth episode ends with the ultimatum from the Jelbek H’an to accept him as Czar or face invasion.

Deltaria then prepares for war and the next number of episodes cover the invasion. The scenes of the First Battle of Eugène are incredibly graphic with mass killings and the looting of the town by the H’an’s army. Zog spearheads the attack ambushing the Jelbek army on the road towards Forarsmark where he kills 5 horsemen with the point of his bayonet. The 2nd battle of Eugène is then covered as the bloodiest battle of the war where neither side can get an advantage. Zog and the H’an agree to fight in single combat to decide the battle in the town centre. Zog kills the H’an and leads the counteroffensive that sends the Jelbeks fleeing back accross the border.

Zog is then offered leadership of the Jelbek horde to stamp out the numerous rebel factions now in Jelbania which he accepts and formally leads the Blue Horde. Some Deltarian soldiers also follow him to act as a personal guard. The rest of the series covers Zog taking on and defeating all of the rebel factions accross Jelbania. In the last episode, Zog is the favourite to win the election for H’an but is found dead in the morning. The series then finishes off with an epilogue in which Eugene has been renamed Zog and a marble statue of him has been erected in the spot where he killed the H’an.

One of the key themes of the series is not to have it as the perspective of Zog nor to have him the center of every event but as more of an expression of history where he begins life mostly in the background but as he gets older becomes more and more the centrepiece of the story. This is designed to represent the growing influence on events he attains throughout his life.

The series has already achieved record audiences in Deltaria which will make all those who played a part Very wealthy. It is hoped that the success will be replicated internationally.

20,000 Thaller Paramillitary Troops Ride Across Jelbanian Border Raiding Jeztri Domain

January 4389

Led by the self proclaimed Baron Katona Von Thaller, the Thallerist Paramillitary troops slipped across the unguarded border in the middle of the night. They deserted their posts guarding the border and looted a few towns and villages a few kilometers inland from the border. Smoke could be seen rising in the distance from the Deltarian side. They have begun to call themselves the "Sons of Zog" and have proclaimed their mission to "keep Deltaria safe by putting an end to the Jelbek savages"

Katona also wrote a short letter to the Jeztri daring them to come face him.

To the laughable excuse of a Ruler Wrntukai Kshtri ,Nothing will remain of your lands but a smouldering ruin once I am done.Your land is worthless, your people even more so. Your rule of weakness is at an end. Come face an honourable death at my hand or flee like the coward you are

Chair of the Grand Council Adawolf Von Thaller expressed his disapproval at the invasion of a sovereign nation and promised swift punishment if they ever returned.

Sons of Zog Continue Raiding Jeztri Domain, reach outskirts of Jeztridomura

Baron Katona now nicknamed "The Butcher" has carved a bloody swathe across the Jeztri domain. Initially, Katona sacked a few towns and villages along the border however the deeper he has gone, the harsher the policies inflicted on the population. He recently ordered and carried out the complete destruction of two villages just 3 kilometres from the Jeztri capital of Jeztridomura. However despite the brutality of such policies, Katona "The Butcher" ordered any Dzteks or Deltarians living in these villages to be spared on the condition that they join him. This has added around 2,000 more men to their numbers.

They are now less than a kilometre away from Jeztridomura and have had a few minor skirmishes with the royal guard on the outskirts. It seems Katona "The Butcher" is testing its defences rather than committing to a full scale attack at least for the moment.

Sons of Zog Triumph in Jeztridomura, renamed Katonagrad

December 4389

Baron Katona “The Butcher” Von Thaller paraded his Troops through newly captured Jeztridomura following their rather easy victory against the Jeztri defenders who offered little resistance. This time however, he has prohibited his troops from looting or killing the populace. Katona has declared Jeztridomura his capital for the new territory he has claimed and for future conquests. He has also renamed it “Katonagrad” in his honour. Katona is also attempting to recruit more troops into his army. Only Deltarians and Dzteks were deemd worthy of joining and it is estimated that Katona’s army consists of around 32,000 men.

Katona Triumphs Again In Baofluz

February 4389

In a stunning victory, Katona “The Butcher” lit fires all around the city to create the apepearance of an overwhelming force. He then bribed the captain of the Baofluz Garrison and had the gates opened with the guards standing down. Some fanatics decided to fight the Soms of Zog as they marched through the streets however these are largely scattered pockets who will probably be stamped out. Katona also marched in to accept the formal surrender of Baofluz to the Sons of Zog. Immediately after the document was signed Katona’s troops opened fire and executed the remaining caretakers.

Katona has also changed his mind regarding the name of Katonagrad and has now bestowed it upon Baofluz. Upon seeing far greater Magnitude of Baofluz, Katona declared that this would be his capital instead. The current Katonagrad (Jeztridomura) was renamed Zog at least for the moment.
