CARRIER GROUP SEND TOWARDS KUNDRATI TO ENFORCE NAVAL QUARANTINE

Čahtica: The Ministry of Defense, following a countersignature by Prime Minister Brozović, has ordered the departure of the carrier strike group of Deltaria towards international waters near Kundrati, linking up with Kundrati naval forces in the proces. The CSG, consisting of the carrier DNS Barukčić, two slava-class cruisers, two Golub-class frigates and two Yasen-class submarines, departed early this morning. This will be the first mission of the CSG since its reintroduction in the navy and will mean the first joint operation by Kundrati and Deltarian forces. The carrier group will be aiding Kundrati in maintaining its naval quarantine on Kirlawa and will also be fitted with a contingent of Z.O.G special forces in case the embassy personell, still present in Kirlawa, needs to be exfiltrated. The carrier group, besides maintaining the blockade, will also be patrolling surrounding international waters in preventing other powers from taking advantage of the brewing crisis.

Besides the deployment of Deltarian naval forces in the area the Ministries of Defense and Foreign Affairs have jointly announced a aid package to Kundrati worth nearly 200 million. This package includes humanitarian aid and support aid, with equipment like gas masks and medical equipment being given to the Kundratians. Deltaria will also provide 12 Multiple Launch Rocket Systems to the Kundrati army and around 40 mobile rocket artillery systems of the BM-21 Grad variant. Deltaria's main munitions manufacturer, Deltarian Defense Federation, will also provide hundreds of rockets and missiles for the two systems. Prime Minister Brozović noted that while Deltaria was largely on the sidelines for now, the country now sees it as "its duty" to support regional allies as the Kirlawan regime grows bolder and other nations ramp up their efforts in supporting either side. He did however emphasize that if it is up to Deltaria, "we would come up with a diplomatic solution to this brewing crisis."

DELTARIA CLAIMS "Aleksići Island" IN CELEBRATION OF EMPEROR ASCENDING THE THRONE

Aleksići Island: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has officially notified nations around the Majatran Sea and the World Congress on Deltaria's claim to the Island of Hay, a previously uninhabited island of the Jelbanian and Deltarian coast. The claim was made in celebration of the upcoming coronation of Emperor Aleksić, for which the heads of state of every terran nation have been invited. The island had long been unclaimed, considered to be of little relevance to the region. But in honor of his majesty the island has now officially been claimed as Deltarian territory and been renamed in honour of the emperor. While the claim doesnt look like much on the surface, it could give Deltaria a important staging point for military activity. It also gives a prestige boost to the new Grand Empire, as it is the first time in hundreds of years that Deltarian territory is expanded even if it is just a little. Reporters, in response to the announcement, asked Foreign Minister Brkić whether the Deltarian government seeks to inhabit the island or use it for military purposes. The Foreign minister refused to comment, jockingly saying

You gotta ask the Emperor, its his island now, it has his name on it after all.

ECONOMIC FORECASTS IMPROVE AS GOVERNMENT INVESTS IN PROVINCES

Čahtica: Economic forecasts for the Deltarian economy improve as the federal government moves away from excessive military spending and has significantly invested into the provincial economy. This is the conclusion of a 200 page document on the state of the Deltarian economy, published by the Federal Economic Statistics Bureau (FESB). The report suggests that while rapid remilitarization has hurt the Deltarian economy, resulting in years of decline and stagnation, recent policies of the federal government have turned the tide. The budget has been decreased from 10% of GDP going to the military to 5%, allowing the government more funds to invest into the economy. With its various programs and initiatives the federal government did just that, investing billions into provincial economies allowing the provinces to launch projects on infrastructure, start ups or invest into expanding existing industries. Cuts in financial regulations on the federal level have trickled down to the provinces, with the provincial governments in Darali and Alazinder also enacting similar measures and allowing companies more freedom in operating.

These investments and reforms have paved the way for the current growthrate, which sits at a estimated 2.3%. The debt has also decreased, currently at 98% of GDP while it was previously above 100%. The freed up funds have allowed the federal government to pay off some of its debt. A point of concern is the unemployment rate, sitting at a estimated 5.2% which is higher then before. This is attributed to less state investments into the military-industrial complex, forcing some defense companies to lay-off employees. But also the decline in the manufacturing sector, in favor of a focus on finance and tourism, have led to lay-offs in that sector. All in all however the Deltarian economy is on a recovering path, with investors confidence high as Deltaria assumes a more pro-active role on the world stage, fostering greater ties with nations outside of Majatra and celebrating several diplomatic successes in recent years.

With elections just months away the government is likely to use this report to its benefit, praising the new economic policies in order to win over voters. Whether this message will resonate with voters will be on display in August.

DELTARIAN SPECIAL FORCES EXTRACT EMBASSY PERSONELL, ONE HELICOPTER DOWNED

Éagsúila: In a unannounced move two Mi-8 helicopters on board the DNS Barukčić departed off the carrier at midnight just outside of kirlawan territorial waters. The helicopters, carrying five members of the RG-Orao special forces contingent (Radna Grupa), departed and reportedly flew extremely close to the waterbed before being able to reach the coast without triggering a response. The helicopters continued flying low according to the statement released by the Ministry of Defense, before reaching the Kirlawan capital around two hours into the flight. When near the capital, the helicopters were forced to gain altitude to reach the roof of the Deltarian embassy, where the seven embassy personel were brought onto one of the helicopters before both immediately departed.

Just after initiating the return, one of the helicopters was spotted by Kirlawan AA defense systems in the capital, with two ground-to-air missiles hitting one of the helicopters, crashing it into a suburb of the capital. The other helicopter, partially helped by AA systems being distracted by the first, was able to escape. A daring two hour flight back, already called by some the "Eagle's Flight", saw the helicopter avoid radar detection through flying low once more, being hit once by machine gun fire but substaining no major damage or injuries. The helicopter landed on the DNS Barukčić just before 4 AM, revealing that the heli was the one transporting all the embassy personell and two of the five RG-Orao operators. The Ministry of Defense announced that the remaining three operators remained at the embassy to continue to protect the embassy grounds, together with the ten security guards present on the premises.

The mission, tho seen as a succes, did result in the killing of three Deltarian nationals, as the two pilots and one crewman on the downed Mi-8 have reportedly died during the crash. The Deltarian government, despite havign violated Kirlawan airspace and losing three of its own, has indicated that according to it it has acted within international law, extracting its own embassy personell and not "attacking" Kirlawan units or territory. It has also announced it will perform no other military directly at the Kirlawan regime, and has asked the Kirlawan government to allow a team to retrieve the three bodies on the downed Mi-8.

The mission was one of a kind, with the two Mi-8 helicopters specifically brought on board the Barukčić in anticipation of the mission. It was the first mission by the Z.O.G outside of training exercises and has been deemed a major succes. The three operators on the embassy premises will remain there until further notice, having taken up a coordinating role for the remaining security personell on the premises.

DELTARIAN CARRIER GROUP RETURNS HOME, MATERIAL SUPPORT TO KUNDRATI INCREASED

The DNS Barukčić on its way back to Balgrad

Kundrati: The DNS Barukčić and its carrier strike group are on its way back to their home port of Balgrad as the Ministry of Defense signalled the end of the deployment to northern Artania. The deployment, part of a effort to aid Deltarian ally Kundrati in their efforts to quarantine, was also partially seen as a opportunistic move by Deltaria that allowed to gain the capabilities in the area it needed to retrieve its embassy personel. According to rumours within the Rušaninova Dvorana the government was eager to withdraw its forces from the region as war seems imminent. The official Deltarian government stance is that while the Grand Empire diplomatically supports Kundrati and its regional allies, it does not want to get involved in what is deemed a "Artanian conflict." After two months of deployment the DNS Barukčić and its supporting fleet are thus now returning home, together with the embassy staff it had extracted.

But while physical deployment is over Deltaria remains eager to support its ally. Back to back to the announcement of the withdrawal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Deltaria will provide thousands of small arms, nearly 200.000 rounds of small arms ammunition, additional support equipment (medical, radio's, tools) and at least 50 more mobile rocket artillery pieces, with the necessary rockets supplied with it. The Ministry of Defense has directed the Deltarian Defense Federation and PRIME Limited to ramp up munitions production to both replenish our own stocks, and prepare for potential further aid to North Artania. Prime Minister Brozović stated that "while we withdraw physically, we are there for our allies in trying to stop this junta from doing any more damage. We will continue to provide diplomatic and material support to Kundrati and hope other nations will do the same."

KDU LICKS ITS WOUNDS AFTER DISASTROUS ELECTORAL DEFEAT

Čahtica: The party of Prime Minister Brozović has suffered its single worst electoral defeat in decades, losing against the new PBO, its own coalition partner the DNS and the communist KPD. The party of the Prime Minister lost nearly half of its votes, being reduced to just 78 seats in the Congress of Deputies. Defense minister Andreescu, leading the Hosian Democratic faction of the party, just narrowly won his seat in Alazinder by just 400 votes even as the seat was considered safe for the KDU. The defeat has been crushing for the party, with many insiders not expecting the party to lose this badly amidst a succesfull extraction of embassy personell, a rebounding economy and diplomatic victories in the last few years. When asked why they did not vote for the KDU many voters noted the "lack of ideology" in the party as a contributing factor, with the party being in government continiously for the last 13 years and "moving with the wind" as some voters called it. Another factor was the focus on military expenditure, with voters noting that while they like a strong military the overspending "went on for to long and was stopped to late".

Immediately after the result, Brozović announced that his party would stay within the United Deltaria coalition but that it would "never negotiate with the far-left or far-right", putting pressure on their DNS partner to make a choice on what they want. It also plays directly into the critique of the party, with Brozović seeking to be more ideological for choosing to be a "principled conservative" and main figure in centrist politics. Whether this new strategy will work remains to be seen. The Union will continue to be in the demissionary cabinet until a new government is sworn in, with the election result not making government formations easy. Prime Minister Brozović has also announced he will remain as party leader, with polls suggesting he still holds strong support within the party.

FEDERAL GENDARMERIE TO BE MERGED INTO NEW IMPERIAL GUARD

Čahtica: While negotiations on a new government have reached a stalemate, the demissionary government has announced a major merger in the security apparatus. The Federal Gendarmerie is to merge with the Palace Guards to form the new Imperial Guard, to be responsible for military police duties, anti-terrorism and customs duties. The new branch, to be incorporated into the Imperial Deltarian Armed Forces (IDAF), will also be responsible for the protection of Imperial properties, mainly the ministries and palaces of government. The decision was made using the executive powers of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of the Interior, with both signing documents formalizing the merger into this new branch. The Armed Forces in general have been renamed into the Imperial Deltarian Armed Forces with the Grand Imperial Army, Imperial Navy, Imperial Air Force and Imperial Guard incorporated as service branches. The merger is meant to consolidate several duties and make the new branch more efficient and effective, having capabilities larger then the previous Federal Gendarmerie.

The changes were announced during a volatile period, with coalition talks stranded as the KDU refuses to work with the PBO or KPD. So far the DNS has stuck to the United Deltaria coalition, creating a stalemate in which the government of Prime Minister Brozović continues to serve until a settlement is reached. It is more then likely that the coronation of Emperor Aleksić, to be held next month, will be precided over by a demissionary government.

CENTRAL BANK TO CREATE SOVEREIGN WEALTH FUND

Ludmelnik: The Central Bank of Deltaria (CBD) has announced the creation of a new sovereign wealth fund, as a result of a request by Prime Minister Brozović to create a fund that allows the federal government to focus on more direct and substainable investments. The Central Bank, under the direct oversight of the Ministry of Finance, listened to the request by announcing the creation of the Imperial State Investment Fund (ISIF) which will consists of accumalated income from interest rate, the backing of the bank its gold reserves and return on investments from pensions, military equipment sales and industrial revenues from state owned companies. With all these sources to fill the fund with, it is expected that the new ISIF can accumalate up to 300 billion in funds in the coming 10 years, with the government its intention of not tapping into the funds for at least the first 5 of those years. The ISIF will be managed by a new board of directors specifically appointed to manage the Imperial State Investment Fund. The goal of its creation, in the long run, is to allow for substainable investments into the Deltarian economy when needed. The Central Bank, in its directive to create the ISIF, also announced that the fund will be able to directly invest into foreign companies in both Majatra and the rest of terra, with the potential of using the return on these investments for a further increase in the fund.

The directive bans the managing board of ISIF to spend any of the incoming funds for the next 5 years, with the board to focus on building the organization needed for future investments. The creation of the ISIF is seen as a response by the government on the rapidly declining national debt. The last four years the government has seen surpluses of 10 billion a year, largely due to a decrease in the military budget. This forces the federal government to either pay off debt, immediately invest on the economy or put the money on the bank. Current interest rates do not make it lucrative to save money, even for the state. The creation of the ISIF is seen as a way to save up money for future investments and allow the government to have a independent apparatus for investments going forward. Economists are positive on the creation of the fund, with the Čahtica Stock Exchange (CSE) reporting a 200 point increase this morning as economic forecasts continue to improve.

Hadjoheims: In the Doron Akigan city of Hadjoheims Deltarian film production and publishing company Hvězda Productions has released their long awaited movie "Arrakin" to theaters. Hvězda, long a staple within Deltarian entertainment, had been on a extensive period of decline following poor investments and even worse movies. The company was saved in 5441 by billionaire Saša Pribanić with a cash injection of nearly 4 billion. Since then the company had been working on a new trilogy, a trilogy they called "Arrakin". The movie centers around a universe controlled by several great houses. We follow the heir to one of these families as they settle on the planet Arrakin and are forced to make difficult decisions in order to tame this barren planet with a valuable commodity called "Sand". In the end, the family gets embroiled in a plot to destroy them, fighting for their survival on this unknown planet.

The movie has been received with great positivity by reviewers, who argue that

the old Hvězda is clearly visible in this masterpiece of a movie. With cash to spend and great actors working on this project it has turned out to become one of the most exciting movies in our decade. With a trilogy in the books, we are more then excited for part two to take hold over us.

CEO of Hvězda the billionaire Pribanić was also present at the reveal of the movie, noting that he is "extremely humbled to be able to bring this great studio back on its feet". He also announced that he will continue to work with Hvězda until the company is profitable again, saying that "the great minds working here at Hvězda deserve every chance i can give them, we cannot lose a studio so nostalgic and great at what they do."

Arrakin is in theaters for the next 4 months and will release on streaming platforms shortly after.
