Deltarian Troops to Guard Zima Railway following Outbreak of War
February 4405

An emergency session of the Veche as well as The Grand Council, gathered to pass a funding measure to fund the railway project started by Ggliarch Vladan Zima as well as the presence of Deltarian troops to guard the construction sites of this railway and the borders of the Katonid Khanate. The last stop on the line is approximately 3 kilometres from the current front line in the war. Deltarian troops have been ordered not to engage unless Northern Khaganate troops cross the border and attack a Deltarian garrisoned border town. This means that should Northern Khaganate forces make a breakthrough they would be able to occupy a small region of the steppe unopposed but proceeding any further would result in retaliation.

Minister of Defence Daniela Rázusová gave the leadership of the Northern Khaganate and by extension Vanuku a stern warning not to attempt conquest should they prevail against Katona's forces.

This is not our fight, however, Deltaria will ensure its border remains secure and that the recently started railway project can continue unhindered. Only when there is a guarantee of these conditions will Deltarian troops withdraw from their positions. Deltarian troops will not take part in the conflict however if the troops of the Northern Khaganate hinder Deltarian interests, they will be driven back with force. We suggest the Vanukans stay out of this conflict as well. There will be severe consequences if these conditions are breached.

No official figures have been released as to the number of Deltarian troops crossing into Katonid territory, however, estimates seem to come to a consensus that such a force would be enough to fight off the forces of the Northern Khaganate if they attacked but are not in any way an overwhelming force.

Deltarian Representatives to Attend Majatran Alliance Summit in Romula, Istalia
August 4405

The Grand Council has confirmed that Deltaria will send representatives to the Istalian Summit and that the Jelbanian crisis would be one of the main topics of discussion. Deltaria will mainly argue that Vanuku is destabilising the region by taking sides in the conflict between the Northern Khaganate and the Katonid Khanate and will call for a third party to mediate the dispute. The main agenda for Deltaria in such negotiations would be that a peaceful Jelbanian state be bordering Deltaria and not one that would repeat the invasion from a little over a century ago. Additionally, Deltaria would need to ensure that its railway project is protected. Adding to this point, Deltarian Ogliarch Vladan Zima will attend the summit to argue for the establishment of a Trans-Majatran Railway and that the current political situation makes it infeasible unless negotiations are successful.

Deltarian Foreign Minister to Meet with Zardic Cabinet
July 4406

Alexej Kocur, the Deltarian Minister for Foreign Affairs will head to Zardugal to discuss the Jelbanian Crisis and potential collaboration between the two powers. As the conflict between the Katonid Khanate and Northern Khaganate carries on, It appears Deltaria is looking for a regional Majatran Ally to provide support in the event of conflict with Vanuku. It is hoped that Deltaria could box Vanuku into backing down or to at least strengthen the negotiating position of Deltaria. With tensions only heating up, it is hoped that the summit in Romula will help ease the tension around the issue and come up with an agreement acceptable to both sides.

Deltaria Denounces Vanukean Drone Strike

The Grand Council of Deltaria Chaired by Adawolf I Von Thaller condemned the Drone Strike on a vehicle carrying 4 combatants within Katonid territory. They stated that while it does not breach the 3 kilometer buffer zone between the combatants of the war and Deltarian troops, it is an aggressive gesture against the spirit of peace that should emerge from Romula. It is likely that the Foreign Minister Alexej Kocur will mention the strike during the summit. Adawolf I Von Thaller had this to say.

Deltarian Troops will not involve themselves so long as no one exceeds with the 3km buffer zone that the Deltarian Government has clearly set out. Vanuku is however obviously trying to provoke us and this is indeed shameful for the Romula summit and its goals. Vanukan and Jelbic Jingoism are still very prevalent it seems. While Vanuku plays with its toys, the rest of Majatra is attempting a peace conference. How can we take them seriously when they involve themselves so openly in this war?

Deltaria doubles troop numbers in Jelbania
February 4408
Following plans to expand Vanukean operations to offensive action against the Katonid Khanate, Deltaria has doubled its forces in Jelbania from 20,000 to 40,000. There is significant conjecture in Deltaria that Vanuku is preparing for an all out attack even against Deltarian troops. Under this new Vanukean plan, Deltarian and Vanukean forces would quite literally be staring at each other a few hundred meters apart. There is grave danger that a border incident could light the powderkeg of Majatra. Even as the conference in Romula appears to make progress, the Deltarian Government is unconvinced that Vanuku will adhere to any terms.

Border Incident on Katonid-Free Republic Border
July 4408

Following the assassination of the Free Republic's premier, there has been a surge in anti-Deltarian attacks. Many Deltarians who fear for their lives have proceeded to flee into Katonid Territory for safety. One such group of refugees was followed by a mob of 60. Upon seeing the pursuit, a local Deltarian Patrol rushed across the border and wiped out the mob with machine gun fire. This is the very first incident on the border between the Katonid Khanate and the Free Republic and many fear rising tensions while Zardugal has begun to strike the tribal areas. The Deltarian patrol is said to have mounted all of their (the mob's) heads on spikes sticking them right into the ground in which they died. While few Jelbanians would likely see such a display, it is an indicator of rising tensions.

Deltaria Denies "Unprovoked Firing" On Vanukean Forces
July 4408

An incident in which 4 Vanukean Soldiers were killed with Deltarian involvement has only further increased tensions in the region. While some foreign military observers have called it an unprovoked attack, Deltarian Officials have refuted the claim by accusing the Vanukean soldiers of firing first.

One of the Deltarian Soldiers who's chosen to keep his name anonymous has responded to the allegation.
Troops were retreating, The Vanukeans fired first, we shot back and killed them. End of story

Deltarian Troops move into Free Republic to Restore Order and boosts troop numbers again
August 4408

Troops on the border of the Katonid Khanate and Free Republic were given the order to cross into the Free Republic to put an end to atrocities against the Deltarian population. A quick assault began on the free republic with airstrikes as mechanized and armor units rushed across the border. They were followed by infantry forces who took out the remaining enemy forces. In a lightning offensive, Deltarian troops were able to occupy the Southern Half of the Free Republic mainly the cities of Prsakijsrljitrk and Brnfiàsrl. Deltarian occupying authorities announced that while they were under occupation, they would be renamed to Thallergrad (Prsakijsrljitrk) and Nový Cachtice (Brnfiàsrl). The attacks themselves met little resistance due to the instability within the free republic currently. Deltarian Authorities also ordered an additional 10,000 troops to be sent to the border with Vanuku. There are high expectations that the incursion into the Free Republic will lead to an immediate Vanukean attack and so these additional troops have been sent to prepare for that possibility. This boosts the total number of Deltarian troops in Jelbania to 50,000.

Deltarian Minister of Defence Daniela Rázusová explained that the incursion was an attempt to restore order until the troops of the World Congress force could arrive. Other nations were also invited to participate.

This is not an invasion but a restoration of order that will take control of the situation there until World Congress forces can take our place. In the meantime, we invite our partners to assist us in this regard.

Deltarian and Katonid Troops on High Alert, set up defensive fortifications
June 4409

Three Lines of Defense have been constructed and further work is continuing to improve them along the current border between the Deltaro-Katonid forces and the Vanukean and Northern Khaganate forces. Deltarian High Command is anticipating a preemptive strike relatively soon and has made preparations for such attacks. Patrols are also being carried out in the air but they have not flown accross the border for fear of being shot down. The strategy of Deltaro-Katonid forces seems to be that the Vanukean and Northern Khaganate forces will wear themselves down against the fortifications enough so that a counteroffensive can be made to break through.

Deltarian Foreign Minister to visit Beiteynu

Alexej Kocur, The foreign affairs minister who represented Deltaria at the Romula summit is heading to Beitenyu after members of their government reached out after Deltaria announced it would leave the Majatran Alliance. Some friendly communications were made and it seems that relations between the two countries would remain cordial. Kocur is rumoured to be visiting to sign a free trade agreement to compensate for the loss of Deltaria’s involvement in the free trade of the Majatran Alliance.

Deltarian Forces Counterattack in Jelbania
January 4412

Deltarian and Katonid troops made a strong counterthrust in response to the Vanukean Offensive. This offensive involved an all out assault in Southern Jelbania as fighting was prevalent all over the border between the Katonid and Northern Jelbanian states. During the engagements, many cultural and religious sites have become the site of bloody battles as a battle raged on for Deltarian and Katonid troops to retake their first line of defense. The objectives of Deltaria and the Katonid Khanate are to employ counterattacks to retake lost positions and then defend them as to maximize enemy casualties. While the offensive has achieved some success in areas, Vanukean counterattacks in other sectors has slowed down the pace significantly. Several historic Jelbanian towns have changed hands over 30 times before finally being consolidated into the Deltarian frontline. Both sides are able to match the intensity of each other's attacks and endless amounts of troops have been sent into the "meat grinder" of the killing zone. The fighting has seen the destruction of the oldest Church in Jelbania which was garrisoned by a stubborn Vanukean platoon and subsequently demolished in artillery fire.
