Cobura & Deltaria reach agreement

Postby kylejenkins27 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 10:57 am

Negotiations on further cooperation between Deltaria and Cobura to deal with security concerns and regional policy began a few years ago and these negotiations have now led to a new agreement between the two nations. After ratification Deltaria will begin immediately with the construction of several defense bases and strategic missile sites.

M.U. Illegitimacy Resolution Passes

Postby kylejenkins27 » Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:30 am

Deltaria recently passed the MU illegitimacy resolution which completely closes Deltaria to all MU memberstates and states that Deltaria shall not recoginize the legitimatimacy of the MU or anyone claiming to be a part of it. After the bills passing Premier Todd made this statement:

"The MU claims to stand for and promote peace and cooperation in the Majatra and abroad but look at their track record and you can clearly see thats not so. While they claim unity as one is the best method to pursue peace they have done nothing to stop Jelbania's agressive posturing. What have they done to promote peace short of strengthing their on power? I appluad the forum in passing this bill; recently the MU began voting on a resolution to annex the territory of Luthori, is that promoting peace? We cannot allow these militaristic power hungry people to continue to terrorize through force."

Conservatives loose Power but retain majority

Postby kylejenkins27 » Thu Dec 01, 2011 8:53 am

Vote of No Confidence Called

In the elections of 3221 the Conservative coalition of the Whig and Deltarian Civic Forum lost their near super majority because of the Whigs loss of 37 seats in the National Forum nearly 10% of their seats. The conservative coalition currently in power still retains a majority in the Forum giving them considerable leverage over the other parties in the nation. Premier Frank Todd lost his bid for Governor of the nation to the Socaial Anarchist candiate Wilco Verweij. Mr. Verweij was first elected in 3140 some 81 years ago. Noone really knows his true age because of the secretive nature of the social anarchy party but if he was atleast 18 at the time of his first election then he would be 99 years old today. Whig Party leaders were outraged at the Social anarchist victory calling foul play. When Premier Todd was asked if he would serve under the Social Anarchist Governor he made this response " I'd sooner leave the nation than serve that corrupt man. I believe the goal of the social anarchist is to see the destruction of our great nation." Whig forum leaders have recently called for a vote of no confidence in the newly elected Governor. It is believed that to achieve this victory they will have to reach out to other parties and widen thier governing coalition.

Stjepan Benko, current Minister of Defence and former Governor of Darali Province, Minister of Trade and Industry, President of Deltarian Civic Forum passed away on Saturday in Naban. He was 62. Sources said that he he died of a heart attack.
A three-term Minister, and a man of ambition and strong will power, who lost many chase in his life cycle is the real politician of last 20 years of Deltarian Politics.

Stjepan Benko, was born in Menkask, Doron Akigo. He was a businessman and true politician. He became the President of Deltarian Civic Forum in 3212. He was Governor from 3204 to 3208, Minister of Trade and Industry form 3212-3216, and Minister of Defence from 3216 to 3222 when he died.
His ideologies of entrepreneurship were appreciated by one and all as it was practical and simple. His intellectual behavior and elegant talks attracted the Conservatives.

He grabbed the attention of the public for his proposal to create a private foundation to finance low-cost housing and foster home for low-income families whrn he was a Governor of Darali Province. He was called as the hottest political article in the Deltarian Civic Forum.

He was a possible contestant for the 3212 Civic Forum Governor nominations, but he rejected the offer and suggested Gov. Josip Benko of Doron Akigo, his brother.

He will be remembered for his statement:
The problem in defense is how far you can go without destroying from within what you are trying to defend from without.

Governor steps down after Vote of No Confidence is called

Postby kylejenkins27 » Sun Dec 04, 2011 4:05 am

The Whig Party today put the Vote of no confidence before the forum. The bill calls for early election in order to remove Social Anarchist Governor Wilco Verweij from office. The bill was originally drafted immediately following the January 3221 National Elections but the Whigs have delayed the bill until now in order to give the forum ample time to pass other legislation as well as to see if the Syzygy party would be around for another election. The elderly Governor today announced that he will step down and is to be replaced by an interm leader, the Whigs however have not relented in their call to remove the Social Anarchist from the office of Governor.

Without the Syzygy party the results any early election are uncertain at best. 41 seats in the forum are completely up for grabs. This election could end the Conservative Majority that has dominated Deltaria for nearly 30 years. Polls show that nearly 60% of Syzygy voters prefer the Social Anarchist as their second choice.

Early elections or not a new cabinet must be formed to deal with the death of Minister Benko. A new cabinet probably wont be passed until the Vote of No Confidence has been decided.

Stunning Election Results

Postby kylejenkins27 » Sun Dec 04, 2011 2:05 pm

The Vote of No Confidence put forth by the Whigs past the forum swiftly and in Septemember of 3222 the nation held early elections to challenge the leadership of the Social Anarchist. For the first time in nearly 40 years the Whig Party is no longer the largest in the nation. .05 more voters voted for the Social Anarchy Party then for the Whigs. The two parties now both have 98 seats in the National Forum. There still remains a Conservative majority in the Forum by the Deltarian Civic Forum and the Whigs however this majority is narrower than it has ever been in throughout there coaliton. It seems as expected that most former Syzygy party voters turned to the Social Anarchist in their absence, the election has resulted in a huge growth of the power of leftist parties in the nation.

While the elections have weakened the Whig and DTC grip on power the parties have already moved to include more parties into the governing coalition. Premier Frank Todd won the elections for governor with the backing of the DTC, the Socialist and the National Party. His victory has technically made him the Premier and Governor of Deltaria. In the name of democracy he will not hold both positions of course and he has put forth a cabinet coalition which includes all the parties that backed him in the election. The elections and ther political Turmoil that has led to this surge of the left has also led to the creation of other political parties in the nation such as the radical illuminati and the 'progressive minded' Party of Deltaria.

Whig Forum Whip launches national tour

Represenatives from the Deltarian Civic Forum today put forth bills calling for integrating women fully into the military and placing them in combat positions. The Whig Forum Majority Whip and Whig Board of Directors member Ruth Hemmings has launched a national tour to rally the conservative women against the bill. Mrs. Hemmings is a long time power player in the Whig Party, she has been a Represenative from the Ushlande province since 3187 and the aged stateswoman is widely regarded as the true leader of the Whig party as she generally leads the Board of Directors. Critics argue that the Whig Party has become the party of the old and is no longer in tune with the majority of Deltaria, they point to the domination of party policy by Mrs. Hemmings and others.

Re: Deltarian Daily News Network

The newly formed National Party celebrated its first election victories after picking up nine seats in the recent election, all in the isolationist leaning province of Doron Akigo. The former capital province of Deltaria shares borders with the hostile Jelbanian state and was considered to be at high risk of attack until the former Deltarian Liberal Movement's plan to shift the nation's capital. In a statement released today, the leader of the Nationals, Mr. Richard Campbell, expressed his belief in these factors as a major part of his election.

"The Nationals do not hold the massive budgets of our forum opposition. We do not have the shock tactics or headline grabbing nonsense that lies at the core of other groups such as the newly formed Illuminati menace. What we do have, as a party, is a common sense approach to recognising and defending the grandness that is the Federal Republic of Deltaria. We carry a torch high for this nation of ours, and its place of priority above all other concerns."

When questioned about his party's hostile denouncement of the Illuminati group, Mr. Campbell launched into a ferocious attack,

"What this group seeks to do, what they want more than anything else in the world, is to come into our society - to look at the culture and heritage that we have built together over so many centuries, and disregard it. What we, of all political persuasions and convictions have developed, they seek to tear down on a whim. Why? They feel that they can control us, they feel that they know what's best. Trust me - they don't.

Continuing on, the new forum member added this startling allegation to his statement,

"I wouldn't be surprised if this new group is a wing of the Majatran Union, a look into what they really are, and what they are really trying to achieve. Sure they may deny it - but when you put the pieces together - both these groups need to control and alter culture at will tells quite a story of collaboration.

Newly appointed Minister for Justice Richard Campbell has announced a departmental investigation of the newly formed Illuminati movement in the country. The investigation, which is currently open to submissions from national and international organisations is looking into the nature of the organisation in the search for material which may be considered treasonous to the Federal Republic. In particular the leader of the nationals wishes to address the question as to whether or not the Illuminati are operating a paramilitary, who's existence would be illegal under Deltarian Law.

In a submission to the investigation made in response to Adam Weishaupt, the Illuminati leader, Mr. Campbell asserted that '[The Illuminati has] already made statements that provide this ministry with great suspicion ... the Illuminati leader stated that they would implement policies "by conquest or consent". In the very same statement, they assured us that they would only make policy with the 'illuminated' in mind - a statement implying that they would disregard the concerns of the rest of this nation after their 'conquest'.

The investigation is awaiting further submissions before formal charges are brought forward and the matter is put before the high court.
