Conservative Coalition Continues

Postby kylejenkins27 » Mon Dec 05, 2011 1:37 pm

Following the elections in which Premier Frank Todd was elected to the office of Governor with the support of the DCF, national party, and the socialist party the Whigs put forth a new cabinet coalition to compose of the Whigs, DCF, National Party, and the Socialist. The Socialist however decided to remain a part of the opposition and refused to support a coalition with the Whigs. The Whigs responded by proposing an all conservative cabinet of the isolationist Nationals, the Whigs who now seem to be loosing their 3 decade majority and the DCF. The coalition vote passed through swiftly but with the addition of so many new parties and the exponential growth of the left it is unlikely that the this new cabinet will see two terms regardless for now Deltaria remains under conservative leadership.

Deltaria performed poorly in the Majatran Cup to the dismay of soccer fans throughout the nation. The nation won only 1 in 4 of the games played.

DCF elect Olen Felmlee as new party leader

Postby benkito » Mon Dec 05, 2011 7:06 pm

The Deltarian Civic Forum has elected a new leader at its National Conference. Olen Felmlee, the current Governor of Doron Akigo, is the new DCF President, replacing Bianca Grisby, in accordance with a constitutional convention that the party leader cannot be person who is serving position of Governor of Federal Republic or position of Premier.

Danica Cochrane, President of the Deltarian Democratic Network, has expressed his congratulations to Olen Felmlee and welcomed this important step by DCF in electing a new leader. This exemplary behaviour has made it clear that DCF is a truly conservative and democratic party which should set an example for other Deltarians, including the Premier of Deltaria, and current Governor Todd from Whig's.

The new party Chairman is Olen Felmlee, who previously served as the chairman of DCF Head Committee. Bianca Grisby has pledged to remain involved in the party through membership of DCF’s Head Committee.

Tourism Minister Recommends Deltarians to Holiday at Home

Postby Destori » Tue Dec 06, 2011 10:19 am

Thomas Browne, the National's Minister for Tourism today launched a campaign for Deltarian citizens to spend their hard earned telars at home,

"Where else in all the world would a person rather spend their relaxation hours than in our Federal Republic?" the minister asked an assembled press conference in the National home province of Doron Akigo.

"We have it all, a nation with world class beaches, mountains, deserts, forests, as well as some of the finest cities in all of Majatra. Who else to spend your holiday with than your friends and neighbours, those who care about you and who care about our shared heritage. Quite simply, why would someone want to risk the hostility of world wide divisions when they could be amongst one of the closest communities around - and stimulate our local economy in the process? It's a win for all involved, for Deltarian families, for Deltarian business and for Deltaria herself."

In order to 'walk the walk', the Department of Environment and Tourism has announced that it will be sending Mr. Browne on a cross-country tour to some of the best destinations across the provinces, and has signed a deal with the Deltarian Daily News Network to cover his trip.

The News Network will continue to report on this developing situ-vacation.

Foreign Policy Report

Postby kylejenkins27 » Tue Dec 06, 2011 3:36 pm

The New government has began extensive activity around the nation. The Minister of Justice is holding an investigation of the Illuminati while the Minister of Environment and Tourism has launched a campign to spur tourism in the nation. The Whig party lost the epic battle to fully integrate women into the Deltarian Armed Forces despite a national tour from Whig Party Board Member and Whig Forum majority Whip Ruth Hemmings. The Women in the Military bill is the first major piece of legislation to defeat Whig opposition. The Whig Party is facing increased criticism for the first time in decades especially after Premier Bianca Grisby resigned the post of party leadership of the DCF. After the premier resigned people from around the nation began to call on governor Todd to give up his control and leadership of the party, however Governor Todd has remained adamant that his office of Governor does not impede his ability to lead the paty and shall continue to remain Party Chairman.

Recently as part of an effort to shift the state of Foreign Affairs Norton Reynolds the current Minister of Foreign Affairs released the following document titled Foreign Policy Report for Deltaria to sustain a new Century of Deltarian Activism. The Report highlights important issues to this adminstration foreign policy.

Cobura- The nation of Cobura has proven to be our most strategic and faithful ally for years now. This century should be a century of increased cooperation both economically and all other matters between Deltaria and Cobura. Our alliance with Cobura is essential to regional security in the Majatra. Ties with Cobura should be constantly maintained to maintain this great and historic freindship.

Jelbania- The nation of Jelbania is very different from Deltaria. They are a politically unstable government despite many years of continuous government. Constant turmoil and revolution in Jelbania throughout the last few centuries have led to the rise of the militaristic government that now dominates the nation. Jelbania is the single greatest risk to Deltaria. War with Jelbania which is not that far fetched would initiate a continent wide and possibly a world wide war. War with Jelbania should be avoided at all cost. A Jelbanian Arms Reduction should be the primary goal of all relations with this nation.

Majatran Union- It has been the policy of my party for nearly 40 years to maintain the the MU must be done away with. We must now come to the realization that the MU is here to stay. We must find a way to coexist with the MU to end this division and once again restore stability to the Majatra. While we still retain the notion that the MU is an obstacle to popular sovreignity and order in Terra it is the my personal belief that after 40 years of existence MU memberstates are not going to disband nor reform their organization with while in a standoff and Arms race against nations who oppose them. We must adopt policies that will allow us to co-exist with the MU, It is my opinion that after 40 years the Majatra stands divided into 3 camps the MU, the nations against the MU, and neutral nations. I believe that is time to realize that whether we oppose them are not the Majatran Union is a great power on the continent, denying their existence and legitimacy as rulers and continuing an arms race is a costly mutually destructive foreign policy. We must use diplomacy in the coming years or prepare for war.

The Global Freedom, Equality and Security Initiative -This agreement is essentially a pact of 5 nations that all stand against the Majatran Union and stand prepared to defend each other should either be attacked. This pact formed over the course of a decade and I believe we should bring it back to the forefront of policy. This is the kind of security agreements we should achieve while reducing arms with the MU.
http://classic.particracy.net/viewtreat ... atyid=2035

Holy Luthori Empire - Luthori stood with Deltaria from the very begning against the MU. Luthori's empire is great and ever expansive. We would be wise to do all that is neccessary to maintain good relations with them. The empire is to large and to important to not be a top priority of Deltaria

Demilitarization of Lake Majatra

Postby kylejenkins27 » Thu Dec 08, 2011 9:38 am

Prime Minister Cosgrave and Governor Todd of Deltaria have announced plans to demilitarize Lake Majatra as part of a shift in foreign policy. For nearly 30 years the two nations have stood at the forefront of confrontation with the MU. The leaders of both nations have announced their commitment to pursue a policy that lessens the divide within the Majatra. Governor Todd has stated that his goal is "compromise with the MU and not confrontation."

Soon after the announcements from both Governements Deltaria released plans for greater cooperation within the South Majatra. Gov. Todd's foreign policy takes a much differnt stance compared to that of his predecessors as he calls for reconcilliation witht the MU.

This stance however has angered Whig voters at a time when the party is already plauged with division. Nearly 20% of Whig voters are isolationist and this policy shift as well as the calls for Governor Todd to resign the Chairmanship of the Party are dividing the party at a time when the Conservative governing coalition is at its weakest in 30 years.

Deltaria prepares for South Majatra Confrence
Government officials have been preparing for months now for the international confrence on peace and stability in the region to take place. The confrence is set to take place in 3226, an election year for Deltaria. Reconcilliation with the Majatran Union and a deescalation of tensions with MU memberstates are expected to arise out of the confrence however Gov. Todd has stated that all parties are welcomed to attend this confrence so you cant really expect what will come out of it. This will be the largest gathering of leaders the region has seen in centuries whatever comes out of it its sure to be notable.

Governor takes hard stance on Lodamun
Governor Frank Todd today requested halting trade with Lodamun in response to recent reports that the Lodamun government conspired a hoax war and made under the table deals with Kalistan all to bring down another government. Gov. Todd has called the actions inexcusible.

Whigs push Enabling Act
Leaders in the forum have began voting on the Enabling Act, a bill that uses broad language to give the Ministry of Justice greatly expanded powers to monitor and detain suspected terrorist and suspected terrorist organizations. Many argue that this bill infringes on the rights of Deltarians and gives the governement to much power through broad language. The National Party has stated they will back the measure. Critics believe should this bill pass it will be used to harass and probe members of the Illuminati a controversial young political organization in the nation that has drawn sharp criticsm from leaders from all other parties. Others say that should this bill pass then Pan-Majatranist movements across the nation will be targeted and rounded up.

Elections just around the corner
Elections are less than a year away and you can bet all the parties will begin rallying their bases soon. Gov. Todd hasnt announced if he'll seek re-election but should he and this would be a much tougher election. Gov. Todd was elected after a vote of no confidence in elderly Social Anarchist Gov removed him from office, that election was easily predictable. This year however there are several parties poised for growth. The Democratic Federalist have emerged into politics and the socialist have steadily gained seats since the inception of the party. It is unknown how many supporters the Illuminati can gather and many doubt they will even win a seat.

Minister of Foreign Affairs cheers change in Davostan
The regime of Unholy Davostan has been thrown out and the victourious freedom party has taken charge. The Freedom party has begun implementing bold reforms throughout the nation that have been cheered by Minister of Foreign Affairs Norton Reynolds. Minister Reynolds has stated that Davostan is being modernized and the old political dicatatorship has been ousted. Davostans new government has been met with praise from both Deltaria and Cobura, critics point to the fact that Davostan has been a crucial partner against the MU and remains one of 3 nations still maintaining sanctions on the MU.

Governor Todd launches massive reelection campign.
The Whigs have unleashed the full force of their wallets on the upcoming elections of 3226. This money is being spent on two thngs re-electing Governor Todd to a second term and defeating Social Anarchist incumbents in the Forum. Ruth Hemmings, Forum majority Whip for over a decade now, has launched a massive national tour. The Whigs have turned to reaching out to grass roots supporters with core Whig beleifs like capitalism. The big topic this election year however is foregin affairs, the Whigs under Gov. Todd have taken a much softer stance in foreign affairs than under previous leaders, some in the party such as Ruth Hemmings believe that this will hurt the Whigs in the election.

South Majatra Confrence kicks off
The first South Majatra Confrence has begun in Naban. Political leaders from throughout the region and abroad have descended into the city to discuss topics on regional stability and any other issue of regional concern. This confrence differs signifigantly from most international meetings because not only or government officials invited but any official from a party of an invited nation. Gov. Todd's administration has apparently begun the meeting pushing the topic of the MU.

"The Selucians response to the rise of democracy and rationalism in Davostan is shameful. To call the new government radicals and to mourn the passing of the radical unholy regime of the past is truly mad. Whats really going on here is the Empire is condeming the rise of Democracy in Terra."

NATIONALS LEADERSHIP SLAMS ELECTION RESULTS

Postby Destori » Mon Dec 12, 2011 2:22 pm

In a scathing press conference from the National headquarters in Doron Akigo, the Deltarian Minister for Justice Richard Campbell has accused the Illuminati organisation of voter intimidation resulting in fraudulent outcomes in the recent national election.

Mr. Campbell's Nationals scored a total 32 seats in the vote, with the Illuminati picking up 41. This, according to Minister Campbell, who himself came in third in the poll for the Governorship behind long time major party contenders the Whig Party and the Social Anarchists, is an obvious example of how the will of the Deltarian people had been perverted.

"The Nationals are a party that stands for Deltaria - the Illuminati are quite the opposite, an organisation that seeks to destroy the way of life that we enjoy. All sense suggests that foul play must have been involved for their values to have been favoured over ours.

"Don't think that this is just a partisan move however. The Illuminati have also managed to poll higher than the long standing Socialist Party and have come close to overtaking the conservative Deltarian Civic Forum. There is no way that their success amongst so many different constituencies can come from honest campaigning.

"We cannot risk an illegitimate takeover of our National Forum. The Ministry of Justice will be authorising an immediate arrest warrant for any suspected Illuminati members that may have knowledge into their campaign tactics. Trust me, this threat will be neutralised - and the laws of this nation will be used in true service to the nationals of Deltaria."

Mr. Campbell refused to elaborate on the definition of 'nationals' used in his final statement.

NATIONALS LEADER MISSING

Postby Destori » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:59 pm

The Deltarian Daily News Network has received confirmation that earlier today, the leader of the Deltarian Nationals, Mr. Richard Campbell, disappeared whilst on route from his party headquarters in Doron Akigo to the South Majatra Conference being hosted by the government in the capital Naban. The Deltarian Minister for Justice and primary opponent to the Illuminati political grouping in the national forum was on a chartered plane between the two provinces when air control officials lost contact. So far, any attempts to locate Minister Campbell have failed.

The News Network managed to speak to two other National cabinet members today, the Minister for Environment and Tourism, Thomas Browne; as well as the newly sworn in Internal Affairs minister, Amanda Campbell. Ms. Campbell, who is also Mr. Campbell's second wife, had this to say:

"These past months have been a series of ups and downs for myself and my family. We have lived in fear of the growing illuminati threat to our nation, but we have also celebrated our own achievements as Richard's political child, the Nationals, continue to go from strength to strength in service to Deltaria. This should be a happy time for us, not only do we have the pleasure of being wedded to one another - but we were also starting what was surely to become a most spectacular working relationship as well.

"I cannot say exactly as to whether or not this ... incident... was a matter of foul play. Naturally, I do have my suspicions - Richard made a few enemies in the pursuit of justice and a better way of life for all. I can only pray that any guilty parties may only be charged with attempted murder once caught. This is bad enough, the not knowing, and I don't think I could bare anything more."

Speaking from the Ushalande coast as part of his national tourism tour, Mr. Browne added these words:

"Even when you have the noblest of dreams and the purist goals - there will be those that oppose you. We had hoped, Minister Campbell and I, that those who stood against our belief in Deltaria would have used the appropriate channels to be defeated in. Today, when I sit on our sunny shores - the perfect Deltarian skyline will be just that little bit darker as we all struggle to find this great statesman"

Standing up to fill the temporary vacancy taken by Minister Campbell's disappearance is a man by the name of Valentine Williams. Mr. Williams was the deputy assisting the Minister for Justice, and while not a member of the Nationals leadership, has pledged to continue the Illuminati investigation as well as give the 'full and proper' care to locating Richard Campbell.

It has been announced that Minister Browne will be ending his DNNN 'Situ-Vacation' and taking on the interim leadership of the National Party.
