Cahtice: The Deltarian industrial sector continues its steady growth. According to several reports released by Deltarian Analytics and the Deltarian Financial Corporation the heavy industry of deltaria in particular has seen a strong growth over the past years. Fueled by the governments renewed efforts concerning the military industry heavy industries like the Steel and aluminium industries have grown exponentially with new factories being constructed to keep up with the rising demand for these products.

The military industry, which has seen big investments by the federal government, has been the main driver for the growth in industrial output. As newly constructed or reopened military factories demand resources like steel and aluminium to produce the weaponry they need to produce causing these products to be in very high demand. The Deltarian oil refining industry is also seeing growth as the private deltarian "ReFINE Corporation" has opened several new refineries, refining crude oil from Kafuristan and Badara to be used at deltarian gass stations or to be exported to the global market.

Smaller industries have also seen a minor growth although this growth was minimal. Overall the entire industrial sector grew by 40% since last year, creating over 700.000 new jobs and cutting the unemployment rate from 14% at first to 9.4% now. Seeing these big developments and the inflation rate at a low level of 2.6% the Deltarian Central Bank has decided to lower the interest rates to "fascilitate further growth and development". President Vanek expressed his approval of the lowered interest rates, praising the Central Bank director Andrej Imkova for his "far reaching vision for a strong deltaria". Economic experts expect the current growthrate of 3% to further grow following the lowered interest rates to around 3.6% by the end of july. Private investment and consumer purchases are also expected to rise, likely further strengthening the Deltarian economy and increasing confidence by Deltarian consumers in said economy. Inflation is however expected to rise slightly to around 3% inflation by the end of this year.

Cahtice: After extensive negotiations with Istalia into finalizing a fruitfull relationship between the two nations the government of Deltaria, backed by promises that the Treaty of Romula has been mostly nulified in all but name, has announced a increase in the active personell of the ground forces. According to the Ministry of Defense the amount of active soldiers will be increased from the current 250.000 to around 400.000 by the end of 4697. This will all be done on a voluntary basis, with soldiers getting certain educational benefits and a decent salary. This is unlike in previous regimes where an increase in soldiers often meant conscription, and not voluntary enlistment. It is expected that the desired amount of troops will be reached before the deadline as many young Deltarian men have been waiting in turns to join the military.

The increase in active soldiers also comes with a increase in the Defense Budget. The Ministry of Finance has made available over 5 billion LOD extra for the military anually. This extra money will be used to modernize the Deltarian airforce and ground vehicles and to restart the Deltarian tank program to further develop the deltarian version of the T-14 tank. A one time transfer of 4 billion LOD has also been made to the Defense Ministry in order to pay for weaponry and equipment that will be issued to the new soldiers as well as open several new training locations for both the ground and airforce.

There have been no plans yet for the modernization or expansion of the navy as many within the Deltarian government are rumoured to be cautious not to test the new deal between the coalition and Deltaria to much for the time being. The Treaty of Romula forbid the Deltarians from having capital ships like Aircraft Carriers and for now it seems the President and his government still want to partially abide by that part of the treaty.
New plans for a intergrated air defense system in southern majatra are also rumoured to be underway with this being a likely combined project with the Istalians.

Istalian investment into the Deltarian economy are also at an alltime high, reinforcing the new reality that the former arch enemies are coming closer together.

Cahtice: The new Upper House of the deltarian parliament named the Federal Council has blocked the passage of the Foreign Initiative Act. This act was passed by the Assembly by a one vote majority and send to the Council for approval. The act would have cchanged the law in regards to the status of refugees, welcoming all instead of only a few. It would also have introduced cursory checks before a passport would be issued and would add a requirement for foreign nations to ask approval at the foreign office before being able to establish an embassy on Deltarian soil.

Doron Akigo and Darali, both republics controlled by the FSD, voted in favour of the FIA while Alazinder, Dissuwa and Ushalande, controlled by the opposition People's Democracy, voted against the bill causing it to be rejected by the council. According to a spokesperson of the Republic of Ushalande the bill would "create a vaccum, allowing immigrants to enter our nation regardless whether or not they have endured hardships or not." The three republics therefor urged the FSD to ammend the bill and remove Article 4, which would only grant refugees in serious need of help due to war to be able to enter the nation. While at first hesitant the FSD finally directed a copy of the amended bill to the Darali delegation in the Council which proposed the ammendment. Now the FIA will likely pass, without article 4 in it.

This is seen as the first major effect of the Upper House on the legislative process of the country and as one of the first legislative defeats of sorts from the FSD. despite their bill likely to still pass both houses without Article 4 it is still seen as a defeat by many within the party as welcoming refugees was one of their key points during the last campaign.
President Vanek responded by the failure to pass the bill by saying "this is democracy, we introduced this system to give individual regions more of a say in the process of passing Federal Laws and this system is now working as intended. I am confident that my party will find a way to pragmatically work with the opposition into still passing this bill"

Cahtice: Deltarian Federal President Vanek visited the Artanian nation of Dorvik last week during a state visit to increase trade ties between the two nations. Dorvik was once part of the coalition that fought against Deltaria during the coalition war. For decades after the relationship between the coalition nations and Deltaria was tense at best. But now, as the Treaty of Romula has been nulified, the two nations are coming closer together.

Federal President Vanek arrived in Dorvik early this week by the use not of his plane, but his personal boat which he often uses when there is no hurry to a specific task. He arrived in the port of Kordaw before moving to the capital of Haldor by train. He was then greeted by State Chancellor Lÿndow-Sennhein and together they travelled to the Dorvish parliament and the chamber of the chancellor. In here they discussed several topics from trade to international security and other economic themes. The meeting is seen by many as a way of improving relations further between Deltaria and Dorvik and create amicable trade between the two.

At the end of the meeting the president was given a tour of the dorvish State Council. The day after he would go to the National Museum of Dorvik located in Haldor where he admired the many paintings on the walls. They continued on to hold a joint press conference once again explaining what the intention of this state visit was. After 2 full days in Dorvik the president then thanked the Dorvish State Chancellor and once again left by train to go on the journey back on his private boat.
The two leaders had, according to a spokesperson of the federal president, discussed a increase in trade with a trade agreement being signed to increase exports between the two. Furthermore the two agreed on further cooperation on international security to ensure that for example international sealanes are protected from piracy and rogue states.

The meeting has been described as "fruitfull" by the president himself and analysts agree that this is yet again a step in the right direction for Deltarian and Dorvish relations.

Cahtice: The Justice Reform Act proposed by President Vanek and his Federal Social Democrats has passed both houses as the People's Democracy opposition voted in favour of the reforms. The Act was one of the signature proposals of President Vanek who promised during his campaign to reform the justice system and give everyone "fair respresentation".

The act gives local republics the responsibility to appoint judges and magistrates instead of having the population vote for their judges. This way judges can be appointed through "merit and profesionalism, giving everyone the opportunity to be judged by a professional judge". Another part of the act changes the makeup of Jury's. With the new act only lawyers can sit on a jury, also adding an extra layer of professionalism and fairness to the trials with a jury. But one of the biggest changes the new act brings is giving police officers the right to use standard small firearms. Until now officers were only allowed to carry non-lethal weaponry which, in practice, turned out to be deadly as several officers were killed on duty in recent years. Now officers are allowed to carry firearms as a standard. With special units being able to carry military grade weaponry in extreme circumstances. By enacting this reform the President hopes to reduce crime and reduce the agressivenes shown towards officers, creating a extra layer of defense for those who risk their life's every day.

Economic Development
Following the recent investments made by Istalian and Dorvish companies in the Deltarian economy it seems as if the economic development of the country does not stop. In the last quarter the economy grew by over 3.6% and is expected to grow even further fueled by the investments from foreign companies. Thanks to Dorvish help the banking sector is also seeing growth as new community banks are starting up accross the different republics and electronic banking through the internet is on a sharp rise. The bet made by the federal government on the Deltarian heavy military industry is also paying off as more factories are being opened and Deltaria recently rose to become to 2nd biggest exporter of military goods on Terra, quickly moving towards the number one spot it once held. New federal incentives and investments into this industry is also fueling new innovations and production tecniques as production costs become lower each year and new equipment like improved turret rotation for tanks and attachments for infantry weaponry are being developed by namely Darali Defense Systems, the state owned defense company of Deltaria.

The federal government is also closely working together with the different republics to try and find new ways to contribute to local economies. One of these contributions can be seen in Darali, where the federal government gave the Daralian government 2 billion LOD in investments to improve local infrastructure and create a program called "Darali Works" to help the unemployed find a job and lower the unemployment rate in the Republic. For now these small local programs seem to pay off as each individual republic shows improvements in both growth and unemployment numbers.

Cahtice: The Federal Social Democrats led by current President Vanek have once again won the federal elections. The party improved since last election by winning 16 seats more in the Federal Assembly. A clear sign that the policies of recent years have payed off for the party. But during this election a much bigger win was achieved as the party took control over 4 of the 5 regional republican governments. While losing their control over Doron Akigo due to the party's more progressive stance the party managed to once again win Darali and win in Ushalande, Alazinder and Dissuwa, all formerly controlled by the Peoples Democracy opposition. This not only gives the party a majority in the lower house but also effectively gives them 4 of the 5 seats in the upper house.

President Vanek was, without much suprise, reelected president with 2 million more votes then his opponent. Winning with 52% of the vote and securing a third term. But despite his continued success the president did make a big announcement after the election result came in. In a big speech talking about the election promises he will pass in the coming term he also announced that this third term would be his last.

Our nation deserves the chance the innovate and keep moving forward. I have been at this beautifull post for the past 12 years with another 5 years ahead of me. After fullfilling my campaign promises and further improving our beautifull federation it is time for me and this nation to move on. This will be my last term as i believe 17 years in the highest office of the land is more then enough. I have achieved what we wanted to achieve, move our nation passed the scars of the past and improve the everyday life's of our citizen and therefor i believe i should make way for the next generation of Social Democrats and Deltarians in general to bring forward new ideas and perspectives

President Vanek made clear that, strengthened by a majority in both houses, he will fullfill all his campaign promises and focus on "further improving the economy and increasing security and pay for workers in most if not all sectors" he also showed a willingness to, in his last 5 years as president, work with the more progressive wing of the party to pass certain progressive social reforms where possible.
While president Vanek is being inaugurated early next month for the third time his party is already thinking about his successor. Party leadership is currently discussing how to elect the next leader of the FSD, with some suggesting a primary campaign system while others prefering one major election during the annual party congress. The FSD leadership will likely reveal the method of appointment later this year.

Cahtice: A recently released report from the Cahtice University of Applied Studies revealed that there is a record number of new private business in Deltaria. According to the report especially smaller private businesses have seen a sharp rise in recent years as economic growth and investments from the foreign and internal markets keep growing. The influx of new private enterprises is a positive for the economy, which had mostly seen growth thanks to government intervention. According to the CUAS report this new dynamic within the Deltarian economy creates a "better balance" between public and private activity and further strengthens the "economic diversity and growth within the nation".

One of such companies is the Ushalande based "Oron Tech Industries" a technology startup that has created its own OS system for personal computers. The company started out 2 years ago officialy, after its founder Uri Valkova had started working on the OS himself 4 years before. Last year they released a Beta version of their OS named "Visual" to the local market, rather quickly the local government and several large organizations started to use the OS as well as around 2 million normal citizens. This gave the company a opportunity to expand to the Federal market, branching out their OS to all of Deltaria. They are currently in the process of making this happen with financial investments by both Istalian investors and the Local government.

The CUAS report also suggested that while there already is a record number of private business the number is likely to increase further with online banking making it significantly easier to start and manage a business financially. The Federal government is also planning a new investment plan to improve the quality of both landline internet and the wireless communication networks in the country. According to representatives of the Federal government this new investment plan aims to prepare the transition of the Deltarian network from 4G to 5G. The government is likely to work with telecommunication companies to coordinate these investments and changes in the network.

Cahtice: President Vanek has announced that his government, backed by a FSD congress, will expand and reorganize the Deltarian Navy. The expansion plan, layed out in a directive issued by the president, includes the construction of 5 new Admiral Gorshkov frigates, 5 new destroyers and, the most daring thing about the plan, the construction of one Nemec aircraft carrier. After 3 years of the new arrangement between the coalition and Deltaria went into effect the deltarian government now feels confident enough to start construction on their first carrier in almost a century.

The Nemec carrier and the other planned ships will be constructed over the course of 6 years by the Ushalande Engineering Group, the state owned company that is in control of 90% of Deltarian shipyards. The construction of the carrier will have the priority according to the Ministry of Defense as it would be the "flagship" of the deltarian navy and would allow Deltaria to aid countries in dire need accross the globe as well as working with newfound global partners in combating piracy and other international security threats. While the ships themselves will be constructed and assembled by the UEG there are several private companies that shall also be involved in the construction process. The electrical components of the new frigates for example will be delivered by Akigan Electric, a company from Doron Akigo known for their high quality electronics for both consumer and military ships. The now widely known private Oron Tech Industries will work with the MOD and military officials to deliver working and secure software for the ships to operate on digitally and the state owned Darali Defense Systems will fullfill the extra orders for missiles and munitions needed on the new ships.

While this is a expansion the MOD also underlined the "poor operational peformance that the Deltarian Navy has seen since its disarming after the coalition war" and also presented a plan to reorganize and retrain the navy. According to the plan the navy will be reorganized into 3 fleets. One fleet will officialy be named the "Majatran fleet" (unofficialy the 1st fleet)" consisting of several frigates, destroyers and half of the submarine fleet Deltaria still has, this fleet will fall under the newly established "Deltarian Majatran Naval Command". The second fleet will be named the "Oceanic Fleet (unofficialy the 2nd fleet)" and will consist of the new to be constructed Nemec carrier and its strike fleet (consisting of several destroyers, frigates and corvettes) as well as the other half of the remaining submarine fleet and the new to be constructed frigates seperately. This fleet will be tasked with global operations whenever necessary and will fall under the newly established "Deltarian Global Naval Command". And the third and last fleet will be named the "Home fleet (unofficialy the 3rd fleet)" consisting of the remaining ships within the Deltarian navy and tasked with defending and patrolling the Deltarian coast, this fleet will also fall under the new Deltarian Majatran Naval Command.

According to the MOD, by reorganizing the navy into this new structure and putting more investments into additional crew training the Naval Command and Minister of Defense hope to once again make the Deltarian Navy a capable force for both local and global operations. The President is also working with military officials to see if there is a need for the construction of new aircraft as well to be stationed on the new carrier and possibly on domestic Deltarian military airbases.
The MOD and president were also clear on the intentions of building a Nemec Class carrier. Saying that this carrier will be used for "security operations accross the globe to help struggling nations, protect international shipping lanes and work with our international partners to ensure global peace and stability are preserved".
This would be the first carrier in the Deltarian navy since 80 years.

Construction on the Nemec carrier is already underway with Shipyards in Alazinder and Dissuwa preparing for the construction of the additional destroyers and frigates next month.

Cahtice: Progressive candidate Ivona Brezinova has won the FSD leadership and will therefor be the party's candidate during the presidential election of 4702. Brezinova won the vote by party members during the National Congress of the FSD by 60%. She fought against long term Minister of Finance Dusan Broz, who is seen as a centrist within the party. Brezinova especially won the younger and minority vote within the present members, who see her as the perfect voice of the progressive wing of the party. The FSD held their vote for a next leader during the annual party congress where both Federal and Local issues are discussed, this came after current president and leader Vanek revealed that he would not seek a 4th term as president and would resign as party leader to "bring fresh faces to the party and country"

The election marks a new chapter for the Social Democrats as the party is leaning significantly more to the left with their new progressive candidate. Brezinova will start her campaign early next month a year before the actual elections.
