Cahtice: President Vanek has announced that his government, backed by a FSD congress, will expand and reorganize the Deltarian Navy. The expansion plan, layed out in a directive issued by the president, includes the construction of 5 new Admiral Gorshkov frigates, 5 new destroyers and, the most daring thing about the plan, the construction of one Nemec aircraft carrier. After 3 years of the new arrangement between the coalition and Deltaria went into effect the deltarian government now feels confident enough to start construction on their first carrier in almost a century.
The Nemec carrier and the other planned ships will be constructed over the course of 6 years by the Ushalande Engineering Group, the state owned company that is in control of 90% of Deltarian shipyards. The construction of the carrier will have the priority according to the Ministry of Defense as it would be the "flagship" of the deltarian navy and would allow Deltaria to aid countries in dire need accross the globe as well as working with newfound global partners in combating piracy and other international security threats. While the ships themselves will be constructed and assembled by the UEG there are several private companies that shall also be involved in the construction process. The electrical components of the new frigates for example will be delivered by Akigan Electric, a company from Doron Akigo known for their high quality electronics for both consumer and military ships. The now widely known private Oron Tech Industries will work with the MOD and military officials to deliver working and secure software for the ships to operate on digitally and the state owned Darali Defense Systems will fullfill the extra orders for missiles and munitions needed on the new ships.
While this is a expansion the MOD also underlined the "poor operational peformance that the Deltarian Navy has seen since its disarming after the coalition war" and also presented a plan to reorganize and retrain the navy. According to the plan the navy will be reorganized into 3 fleets. One fleet will officialy be named the "Majatran fleet" (unofficialy the 1st fleet)" consisting of several frigates, destroyers and half of the submarine fleet Deltaria still has, this fleet will fall under the newly established "Deltarian Majatran Naval Command". The second fleet will be named the "Oceanic Fleet (unofficialy the 2nd fleet)" and will consist of the new to be constructed Nemec carrier and its strike fleet (consisting of several destroyers, frigates and corvettes) as well as the other half of the remaining submarine fleet and the new to be constructed frigates seperately. This fleet will be tasked with global operations whenever necessary and will fall under the newly established "Deltarian Global Naval Command". And the third and last fleet will be named the "Home fleet (unofficialy the 3rd fleet)" consisting of the remaining ships within the Deltarian navy and tasked with defending and patrolling the Deltarian coast, this fleet will also fall under the new Deltarian Majatran Naval Command.
According to the MOD, by reorganizing the navy into this new structure and putting more investments into additional crew training the Naval Command and Minister of Defense hope to once again make the Deltarian Navy a capable force for both local and global operations. The President is also working with military officials to see if there is a need for the construction of new aircraft as well to be stationed on the new carrier and possibly on domestic Deltarian military airbases.
The MOD and president were also clear on the intentions of building a Nemec Class carrier. Saying that this carrier will be used for "security operations accross the globe to help struggling nations, protect international shipping lanes and work with our international partners to ensure global peace and stability are preserved".
This would be the first carrier in the Deltarian navy since 80 years.
Construction on the Nemec carrier is already underway with Shipyards in Alazinder and Dissuwa preparing for the construction of the additional destroyers and frigates next month.
