An End to Equality?
Referendum Ends Consociationalism
November 12, 3700

Consociationalism is history in Deltaria. A ballot initiative was voted on, on November 3 and saw 68.4% of Deltarians voting to end the controversial system which saw public positions divided strictly according to ethnic origin. The Commission itself was divided, with President Jozef Drobný opposing the referendum while a number of Commissioners supported it. The ballot initiative was initiated with 8.3 million signatures being collected (much more than the requisite 12.5% of the electorate) The voters backed another initiative which will see Commissioners and other federal posts being appointed proportionally but with a regional instead of ethnic basis. The two largest regions, Alazinder and Darali will get to pick 3 Commissioners each while the other three regions will get 2 each. Tiny ethnic minorities will have one reserved seat, rotated among them along with two Vice Commissioner posts.

Hearing of the result President Jozef Drobný submitted his resignation and that of the Commission to Tsesar Stefan X Sorin. As a consolation prize Dr. Drobný was ennobled with the title of Barón. The Tsesar invited the leadership of the DNZ Party to Cachtice Castle, to choose the next Commission. After consulting with constituent state Chief Ministers and parties, Boier Lascăr Manu, an Ushalandan noble and President of the Council of Ministers of Ushalande state was nominated as the new President of the Commission. He will be part of 5 new Commissioners who will join the reshuffled Commission in December.

The National Council of Minorities has expressed 'grave concern' at the move and has announced that it will challenge the referendum in the Constitutional Court early next year. The Court is believed to have tired of such cases and threw out another case by the NCM in Doron Akigo where it challenged the fact the the Witenagemot (legislature)'s membership was all male and asked the Court to dissolve the legislative body and order the imposition of strict gender quotas before any other election could be held.

Tsar Honors Brave Soldiers

His Supreme Majesty the Tsar honored the brave soldiers who risked their lives fighting the "Kafuri dogs" in a ceremonial dinner this week.Deltarian troops, alongside other Majatran nations led by Vanuki, taught Kafuristan that Deltaria will not sit around and have her interests tampered with. His Excellency the Tsar said:

Brave men and women, you have honored your families, your nation, and your Tsar. History will not soon foret your struggle to defend Deltaria. I will not be able to thank you enough, but that does not mean I will not try.

All the soldiers were given various titles and awards by the Tsar himself. The commanding Deltarian officer, Matus Banik, will now be formally known as a Baron, a very high title. The generous handing out of awards has boosted nationalism and calls for war against Kafuristan. Crowds in the streets are chanting slogans and picketing places that show Kafuri culture.

In his wisdom, the Tsar has stated that "now is not the correct time for war"

Tsar Found Dead

Almost 13 years ago, an ambitious elderly noble seized opportunity and took the Deltarian throne, quickly consolidating his power and virtually becoming an absolute monarch.

That man, Tsar Viliam I, is dead.

The Tsar was found deceased in his bed early this morning, at the age of 75. Medical professionals at the scene quickly confirmed it was a natural death. He appeared fine the day before, still maintaining his boundless energy, even in his elderly years. A grand procession will be held, leading to the Baláž tomb. Millions of Deltarians are putting his portrait in their windows, in mourning for their beloved leader.

The late Tsar's eldest son, Prince Jaromir, will inherit the throne as Tsar Jaromir III in 3 days. May he lead Deltaria to glory!

Military Recieves Overhall

His Exalted Majesty Tsar Jaromir toured our mighty military and navy bases this month. The mighty Deltarian army strikes fear into Majatara. But the Tsar, in his wisdom, was not impressed, calling the state of our military "unworthy of our greatness" and that "we need to take action"

All divisions of the military have been given a large spending boost, and several new training programs have been put into effect. In addition, research has been increased on new types of explosives and weapons. Our army will surely please His Majesty soon!

"WHERE DID OUR MONEY GO?"-Military Outraged

While His Majesty the Tsar is virtually an absolute monarch, he still relies on and is questioned by his cabinet. Over the past several months the Tsar has been controlling a portion of the military budget and putting it to other means. This isn't terrible in itself, except for the fact that where the money is actually going remains a mystery.

All that is known is that the money is going to unknown mercenary groups, and they are reaping huge profits for the Deltarian government. The profits have mostly taken the form of material goods, oddly enough. When the Tsar was accused of supporting pirates while he was talking to subjects in Čachtice, he replied:

How dare you question your Tsar's morals! That money is being spent to protect our coast from Zardic raiders, fresh with stolen goods from hardworking Deltarian merchants! The nerve!

We almost had a chance to talk to the accuser, but several men in black suits quickly appeared and escorted him out of sight.

TROOPS MOBILIZE;"WAR IS INEVITABLE"
Image
The Glorious Deltarian Army moving out

His Majesty the Tsar addressed the nation today, advising Deltaria to "treat war as an inevitability." His Majesty stated that Zardic imperialism has reached a point where it can no longer be ignored, and that Zardugal will "soon seek to destroy our nation directly, having exhausted all other means, and will attempt to crush our nation and our way of life."

The Tsar gave the order for all divisions of the military to make preparations for combat, and for some parts to mobilize. Troops have been stationed near the Jelbic-Deltarian border, ready to assist our ally in case of invasion. In addition, the small fleet in Lake Majatra has been given orders to become "battle-ready"

Is this war doomed to be inevitable? Or is there still a chance for peace?

REBEL MOVEMENT GROWS VIOLENT

Image
Doron Akigo Revolutionary Forces. Vile dogs.

The separatist movement that has silently been steaming for the past ten years has finally officially gone into action. Following the announcement of foreign aid, the DARs began direct attacks on the Deltarian government in their pursuit of their goal for an independent republic of Doron Akigo.

The Tsar, in his infinite wisdom, has given these rebels an ultimatum:"Give up, and return to your homes. If not, you shall be executed along with the rest of you snakes when you are captured."

Yet their numbers still seem to be soaring. Will this eventually be enough to take pressure off the war front?

ZARDS PUSHED BACK

Following the recent Zardic excursion into Doron Akigo, the 130,000 strong Deltarian 4th Army and the 35,000 Royal Cossacks managed to push back the Zards to the Jelbanian border. The Zardic Army suffered 1,300 losses and our brave Deltarians suffered a little over 5,000 casualties. This victory comes too late, as the Zard dogs had already pillaged our lands, raped our women, and incited rebellion among those of us less loyal to the Tsar. With direct aid given to the DAR, acts of violence are beginning to happen. But at least the threat has subsided.

FULL-FLEDGED REVOLT OCCURING

The Doron Akigan Revolutionaries have now officially declared their separation from the Tsardom of Deltaria. Since they have received foreign aid, they have grown steadily stronger and more open about their goal. The spark was the event now known as the "Birthday Massacre."

On the Tsar's birthday, the Tsar invited the leaders of the DAR movement to his palace for a negotiation. A large crowd of supporters followed them, and were allowed through the palace gates, but had to wait outside. Then, gunshots were heard from inside the palace. The gates closed simultaneously, and the palace guards opened fire on the crowd of supporters. Estimates range from 800-1,900 rebel dogs righteously killed.

Instead of breaking down the movement, as the Tsar in his infinite wisdom had hoped, the movement's new leaders decided to officially separate Doron Akigo, and seized the capital of the province. They are now mercilessly killing any loyalists they can. Have they no decency? Have they no remorse?

Look's like our Glorious Army will have to serve the Tsar once more and put down these traitorous snakes once and for all.

REBEL CAPITULATION IMMINENT

Image

Due to the Tsar's focus on reconstruction efforts, the revolt has wisely not been a topic in the media. But we Deltarians need some good news now! The DAR is expected to surrender, after reopening negogiations with the glorious Deltarian government.

Over the past years, heir to the throne Prince Jaromir IV has led the Deltarian army in a quick campaign against the revolutionaries. Those sneaky traitors used guerrilla tactics and hidden bombs to try and stop us. Their cowardly tactics were not enough, and almost 10,000 rebels were executed/killed from these skirmishes.

But how does one get a slimy rat out of a hole? Explosives will do the trick, in this case! The revolutionaries thought we were too weak to bomb our own country. Fools! They underestimate our omnipotent Tsar! A bombing campaign was indeed qtaken out on the major cities and some of the country side, much to the ire of many unpatriotic citizens. The exact reports vary, but it is estimated that upwards of 200,000 rebel dogs have been righteously killed. Following this, the Revolutionary leaders finally knew the true power of the Tsar, and reopened negogiations. All this while Deltaria is being rebuilt to even greater heights than before! Truly, Deltaria is the most glorious nation in Majatra.

REBELS SURRENDER

The Doron Akigan Revolutionaries officially surrendered and put themselves into Deltarian custody. After the might of Deltaria was unleashed upon them, they decided that "the Doron Akigans are who we are fighting for, and a victory would be hollow if they were all wiped out." The remaining 12,000 members of the movement were either executed or put on death row. Let them be an example to all the traitors who question our Tsar.

Now begins the enormous task of reincorporating Doron Akigo back into Deltaria. Aid shipments have been sent and government construction and emergency crews have quickly moved in. Doron Akigo will soon be rebuilt, even though they have rebelled against their fatherland. Truly the Tsar is generous.

Yet some people still do not recognize His Majesty's benevolence and grace. Zardic dogs, for example, accusing Deltaria of "human rights infringements." They do not understand that we give our rights to the Tsar, so he can watch over us.

Even some Deltarians are losing their proper devotion to their Tsar. Rumors are being spread. The name "Jaromir the Terrible" is beginning to circulate in private circles. This is just a friendly government reminder that using this name will earn you a penalty of 30 years in prison, and sometimes execution. Have a nice day!
