Cachtice: In the northern Deltarian city of Balgrad a special Summit is taking place, a summit that is set to change the balance of power in the region and marks a new chapter in Deltarian foreign policy. The Balgrad Summit as it has been called has invited delegates from Selucia, Hobrazia, Narikaton and Darnussia and Keymon to discuss the regional security situation surrounding Malivia. Only Selucia and Narikaton/Darnussia have already send their delegates to the summit, with the other two invited but yet to respond. Regardless the FDSR has opened the summit with a bold move that steps away from previous foreign policy initiatives by the Cachtice government. General-Secretary Turek, personally travelling to Balgrad for the summit, launched his speech in front of over 400 delegates.

Dear friends. It is with great pain i stand before you today. As many of you have known, Deltaria has been close to Malivia for centuries. In the previous dispute, our nation managed to strike a deal to ensure no escalation of tensions would take place. We supported Malivian claims to your sovereign territory, support we should never have given. This is a new chapter in our regional story. Tensions are high. While Deltaria wanted to stay on the sideline to prevent further tension the involvement of the Vascanian Empire has further threatened the security in the region and thus asks for a response. I stand before you today to express Deltarian support for your cause. Malivia has decided to put personal ambitions above regional security and harmony and has broken the sacred bond it once held with Deltaria. The Federation of Deltarian Socialist Republics hereby recognizes the sovereign territories of the Selucian Republic, Confederation of Narikaton and Darnussia, Republic of Keymon and Republic of Hobrazia. We enter these talks with these nations to ensure regional security and hope to find a solution that achieves this goal.

The summit has been opened and does not include Malivia. The entire summit is expected to take over a week.

Cachtice: The Central Committee and Politburo have jointly released the first 5 year plan for the economy to the press. After the first party congress was concluded the Politburo and Central Committee were tasked with jointly formalizing a 5 year plan for the future. This plan, as well as the plans that will likely come after, is not set in law and therefor is not a "planned" economic feature. Instead it is a guiding factor for especially state owned companies but also local governments that can see what the general intend of federal economic policy will entail. In the new plan a specific focus has been placed on the industrial sector, which will receive additional state incentive through the State Initiative program and further regulatory growth. The state has also made clear its intention of increasing private, public cooperation to make sure that both sides can learn from eachother. According to the details in the plan the state hopes to achieve 40% growth in the industrial sector in the coming years, especially hoping for a major increase in the steel and construction sector which are already seen as the most promising sectors currently emerging.

The reason for Deltarian economists focussing on industry is clear when looked from a historical perspective. Deltaria has always been a industrial nation, focussing more on services later in its development. As the economy is still on a growth trajectory Deltaria hopes to bring back its old days of major industrial production. These goals have been made easier thanks to automization, which has made funding cheap labour easier then in previous years. Still there is the challenge of filling jobs in the sectors. The state owned companies are currently embarking on programs to keep labour costs down however, using temporary contracts but also "shared contracts" which allow people to work half a day instead of a full day "sharing" the burden of work with other workers and keeping costs down. Two other points in the five year plan are Cohesion and Urbanization. The Cohesion plan is to create a level playing field in all sectors, allowing private bussinesses opportunities to be granted government subsidies as well as making it easier for citizens to launch a bussiness, for example through the "state guarentee" policy recently implemented, which allows citizens to start a state owned bussiness and get the benefit of state owned management and state resources, with the possibility to privatize the bussiness later on under certain conditions. The last major point in the plan, urbanization, aims to aid the previous two plans by getting more of the rural population to live in Deltarian urban centers. This is done through a variety of means. The government has reserved funds to incentivize large families to move in cheap urban homes for example, allowing families to stay together if needed. A problem urbanization might create is a lack of agricultural goods to feed the population. With the plan this would hopefully be resolved, as the government reserved 20 billion in the R&D and implementation of new agricultural modernizations, allowing a smaller agricultural base to produce the same amount, or more, agricultural goods then before. The growth of the industrial sector should in turn give the rural moving populations a steady supply of jobs in the industrial sector, allowing for a healthy workforce.

All these proposals have already been partially adopted in major state companies and are currently being examined by local authorities. The Ministry of Economic Affairs has estimated that of the plan is followed for at least 70% by state owned companies and 30% by private bussinesses the Deltarian economy could see positive effects and a overal net positive outcome in growth and diversification of the economy.

Cachtice: Deltaria's geopolitical position and foreign policy is changing. Historically Deltaria has always alligned with a few likeminded nations, trusting more on just a few partners instead of creating intricate webs of alliances. This paid off, but showed its weakness in the Rapa Pile war, where Deltaria stood alone against Vascania, with the war ultimately ending in a stalemate and the independence of Rapa Pile. After decades of decay Deltaria has now reemerged on the global stage and thus the question of what Deltarian foreign policy might look like is also once more arising. That question seems to be partially answered today after the General-Secretary Simon Turek gave a speech in front of the Supreme Federal Soviet, announcing the creation of the Communist Pact of Independent States or CPIS. This new pact, created by the Foreign Ministry, has as its main goal to "protect socialism and communism around terra". The pact is military in nature, including a mutual defense clause as well as strong diplomatic provisions to keep member states closely alligned. General-Secretary Turek stated that, "It is important for the socialist world to remain vigilant against any threat to the wellbeing if their states. It is widely known that without a watchfull eye other powers are keen on breaking apart the socialist nation states on terra. We must stand together and share our vision of a world where socialism meets realism and where nations with the same ideology stand up for eachother."

The CPIS is not Deltaria's only foreign policy initiative, hosting the Balgrad Summit in a way to ease tensions in the region, escalated by a apparent recognition by Vascania of Malivian claims on its neighbours. Deltaria has stepped away from its traditional ally Malivia following their decision to allow Vascanian troops to station at the old Czar Dusan base, a move largely regarded as provocative by Deltaria. As the Armed Forces are undergoing major reforms and modernizations, Deltaria is changing up its foreign policy to allign with its future ambitions.

Cachtice: The Imperial Museum of Cachtice. For centuries this museum stood as one of the greatest of Majatra and will continue to do so in the future, but under a different name. By directive of the Council of Ministers and Politburo the name of the state-owned museum has been renamed to the "People's Museum", reflecting the, "changes in Deltarian society and the shift of old to new", according to the Ministry of Culture. The change happened after a collective decision within the Politburo to rename old heritage and cultural sites that have a, "strong connection to Deltaria's Czarist and Imperial past." The changes were called for by several human rights and pressure groups within the country as well as senior party officials, who believed that allowing "symbols of opression in the public space" would harm the credibility of the regime as well as Deltaria's new fight against imperialism. With these changes some pressure groups want the regime to take it a step further, selling off all art from the Imperial era as well as communist symbols on public squares also being removed. Non suprisingly the pressure groups advocating for these changes have suddenly dissapeared, with their former residence reportedly being emptied by men without uniform. Despite these changes the People's Museum will continue to display its collection after being given a special license by the regime to keep the famous Deltarian "Imperial Collection" within their permanent collection, displaying art from all facets of Deltarian history.

The museum has also announced a new collection named "Majatran History: A Past of Tides and Waves", displaying Majatran history from Pontesi to Istalia and showing major events throughout the centuries through the lense of art. The new collection is set to be revealed in the summer.

Cachtice: Three years after the announcement of the Velká Obnova program all branches of the military are making steady progress in revitalizing and modernizing themselves. The airforce is not lacking behind. Just like the Red Navy the Aerial Forces had put a total stop on the procurement of additional equipment, fully focussing on the massive effort to modernize and improve the current airfleet. This started with the RiG-35, Deltaria's main multirole fighter jet. The jet was still capable but had to receive a update, namely in its software systems. SATURN together with the state owned Plamenná obrana took on the job to develop a new software package for the RiG-35 that would make it capable of more precise strikes, better awareness for the pilot and a overall better flying experience. The same two companies also developed a new AESA Radar system, examined and improved the aerodynamics of the aircraft and replaced its engines, putting in newly developed engines to ensure a longer lifespan. The new RiG variant was named the RiG-35S, with SATURN being contracted to modernize all current RiG-35 jets into the S variant. They did so a year ago and, with the full financial backing of the MoD, they have delivered 150 new S type RiG-35 jets, with 50 more to be completed within the year, replacing the full fleet. The RiG-35 modernization was one of the more daring tasks, as it is the main jet of the airforce. Other jets, like the R-35, have only received a software update as well as minor improvements. The recent report by the Ministry of Defense showed that the decision not to procure additional aircraft but fully focus on modernizations is paying off, the current deadline for a completion of all major modernizations, set at the end of 4914, is likely to be met with only the R-34 strike fighter and the large variety of transport and logistics aircraft still in need of modernization or maintenance repairs.

Air force command has been reacting positively to the program, with the airforce nearing completion of its set objectives while the Navy and Army are scheduled to remain busy with their part till at least 4916. The modernization of the RiG and upcoming modernization of the R-35 will make the two main fighter jets of the airforce fully operational once more with the remainder of the aircraft following suit. The Deltarian ariforce also benefits from the fact that they were not fully affected by the Rapa Pile war, making reorganizations and modernizations easier than in the other branches. The Navy has reportedly only repaired and redployed its submersible fleet so far, with the Mirat supercarrier and the large quantity of smaller ships still in shipyards. The DNS Mirat is expected to be layed down for sea trials in late 4914, 2 years behind schedule, while the Gorshkov frigates and other smaller ships in the naval fleet are expected to be gradually laid down for sea trials over the course of the next 5 years. The Ministry of Defense has put extra pressure and financial backing behind the project, thanks to a directive from the General-Secretary who stated in a memo to the military that, "making the Deltarian military function at full capacity once more is a priority for the federation with increasingly assertive foreign powers and a evolving geopolitical situation requiring the Deltarian Armed Forces to remain vigilant and operational at any given time."

Cachtice: Following the principles layed out in the first 5 year plan proposed by the Federal government the Alazinder Supreme Soviet has passed a series of reforms collectively labelled the "Agricultural Tranformation Agreement" or ATA. These new reforms aim to achieve the modernization of Alazinder agriculture. Besides creating initiatives and facilitations to modernize agriculture the series of reforms also create, "The right conditions to make agriculture in Alazinder more efficient and durable." Alazinder is the first of the five republics in the Federation that is independently passing legislation to improve its agricultural sector and allign it with the federal five year plan. In the reforms a state fund is created consisting of over 5 billion to which farmers wanting to retire can apply, they will then be bought out by the state allowing them to perform a different occupation. To improve agriculture that persists the government enacts several beneficial tax reforms that will allow farmers to save significant funds, under the condition that they invest this funds into modernizing their equipment and way of utilizing agriculture. Alazinder will also create a new state owned agricultural management bureau named the "Alazinder State Management Organization" which will be tasked with aiding farmers into modernizing their methods and equipment as well as managing the irrigation systems in Alazinder.

Around 16% of the Alazinder GDP still consists of Agricultural export and production, with mainly the areas surrounding the Alazinder river being heavily utilized for agricultural production. These new laws are an attempt by the Alazinder Communist Party to strengthen their support amongst the rural population while also abiding by the federal five year plan and improving/modernizing agriculture along the way. President of Alazinder and general-secretary of the Alazinder Community Party Branko Bosko has stated that, "these laws will allow Alazinder farmers to choose their own future, as well as helping them improve if they want to continue with their profession. It is the first step into substainable and modern agriculture in our Republic."

Cachtice: The State Internet Regulator, better known as OKOB Domestic, has blocked and removed searches and search results to Deltaria's Imperial past. Deltaria, in contrast to other nations in Majatra and terra, is not connected to the world wide web, instead operating its own state owned internet network, blocked off from world acces. The regime of general-secretary Turek has used this handle on internet access to keep a strong grip on digital power, ordering the OKOB to keep a tap on any suspicious activity and with the OKOB Domestic branch ensuring that there indeed is no access to outside internet sources. This crusade for a controlled social web has now brought state regulators to Deltaria's Imperial past. Following collections in several musea a significant portion of the population started to search for the old remnants of Czarist history. It caused some outrage on Deltarian social media, with people sharing images of the invasion of Jakania and the coalition war that followed. State regulators of OKOB Domestic were quick however, taking down search results for anything related Deltaria's imperial past and tracking those searching for it.

So far around 100 individuals have actually been arrested for looking up the words "Imperial Deltaria" on the web, with all of them charged with sedition. They are expected to be put on trial next summer. State regulators have kept a close tab on the state provided web since the incident, searching the web for other activity deemed a danger to the state. The incident has shown the increased influence of the government on day to day life, with the party also trying to maintain a much more active role in the life's of citizens.

Cachtice: The Deltarian Armed Forces, now known as the Unified Armed Forces, has issued a report on their personal view towards Deltarian foreign policy and military power projection. The report, consisting of over 10.000 pages, describes in detail the Armed Forces position on military deployment overseas, the strategic position Deltaria currently finds itself in as well as the increase assertiveness of other powers in the region. The opening of the report has shocked some lawmakers and communist party officials,

Deltaria is no longer the power that can contain or halt, dictate or direct. Its once might ability to control a situation is no more thanks in large part to years of stagnation and a neglect of its international partnerships. The Deltarian military, once a tool to make allies and foes alike, has proven unable to be a guiding force in many situations in recent years. The "catching up" that needed to be done has left Deltaria's position vulnerable. The situation in Malivia is a prime example of this fact. Where Deltarian military prowess and diplomatic power managed to control the situation before now it is Malivia and other global powers dictating terms. Other nations fare a more independent course and no longer respect Cachtice as a power broker, of which the failed Balgrad Summit is a prime example. The Deltarian Armed Forces, as well as the Deltarian State, must look to the future and determine a path forward in which its own interests are not endangered by a increasingly multipolar world and where it can once again find a footing for itself.

The report is clearly critical of not only the foreign policy of previous governments, but also that of the current regime of Turek and his communist party. And while Turek has cracked down on dissent in all corners of society, it has come to note that heads havent started to roll in the military apart from the Minister of Defense, who was fired by Turek and arrested earlier this week. It shows the immense position of power that the military still holds in Deltaria, a power that had installed the communist regime previously and is now protecting it, until it fails to meet the standards of the armed forces. Turek hasnt responded to the report yet, rumours have it that he is in high level talks with military officials over it. Leaked indicators suggest that the Politburo is planning a further increase in the military budget, with the current 2.5% of GDP being upped to 4%. Which would mean billions extra for the Armed Forces to spend. The report suggested that Deltaria should return to its "branch supremacy" doctrine, in which Deltaria, seeing its vulnerable position geopolitically, would invest heavily in its armed forces in order to improve all branches instead of focus on one. Furthermore the Turek regime is working on several foreign policy initiatives, aimed at improving Deltaria's geopolitical position and find a new set of allies to work with.
