Chairman Assassinated
July 4431

In a severe shock to Deltaria, the country has lost its dynamic Chairman of the Grand Council Ret. Captain Sigeric von Thaller. The 47 year old Chairman met his end at a campaign rally in Hadsingōs, Doron Akigo. He was greeting rally attendees when one produced a plastic knife and stabbed him in the neck. The knife is believed to have been laced with poison which hastened his fate. Thaller ruled the country for 11 years, an area of progressivism which saw a growth in government functions and a somewhat more pragmatic foreign policy.

In the aftermath, Vice Chairman Jan Koda the Grand Councillor for Transport acceded to the Chairmanship and declared a State of Emergency over the country. The assassin was detained for questioned. Speculation has risen with some blamed domestic conservatives and ultra-nationalists, others the Papz, horrified at the secularisation reforms carried out by the von Thaller government.

Koda is the first non-Thaller head of state in a very long time. Thaller influence is hardly weakened though, the dead Chairman's widow Ereleuva von Thaller has "reluctantly agreed" to join the Grand Council taking Koda's old post. Another Thaller, Theodoric, the late Chairman's brother is to be Grand Councillor for War.

Deltaria Rejects "Baseless Accusations"

Foreign Affairs Grand Councillor Bela Rakosi has rejected allegations raised in the media by a supposed intelligence operative about Deltaria taking part in shady deals with Kazulia. Rakosi said the two countries have a "strong and equal alliance" and have only ever worked together to enhance collective international security.

Deltarian Troops Return to Southern Khanate

January 4432

Following the New Jelbanian Government’s rhetoric on the Peace Agreement and the MUN, 2 Deltarian Infantry and 1 Mechanised division crossed the border to reoccupy the Southern Khanate. This follows the Vanukean troops in the North doing the same. It is understood that Deltarian troops are there to safeguard the agreement and will only leave if its continued survival is assured or if all parties agree to an amended agreement.

Carolus Von Thaller takes power as Grand Council Chairman- Vows to Champion the Recovery from Black Thursday

The son of former Chairman Adawolf Von Thaller, Carolus has managed to unseat his factional rival, Jan Koda (who took power after Sigeric was assassinated) and put a halt to plans involving a shift to the left in terms of government stimulus programs and regulation of the economy. Carolus is instead planning to remove even more restrictions on the Deltarian economy and rollback the recent policies of the Sigeric Government. Carolus said the following when asked about how the Deltarian economy will recover from Black Thursday.

Government stimulus will not solve anything and only has temporary effects on employment. Such projects are also incredibly expensive and in government hands they will almost certainly be inefficient and wasteful. If we are to recover from this crash, the Deltarian people must come together and innovate like never before. We are gutting regulations left right and centre as to break apart anything in our way. Only Deltarians themselves will be able to bring the Deltarian economy out of this depression.

Carolus has also made it clear that he supports the restoration of relations with Kazulia following the end of the Jelbanian conflict. He will also have to sort out the recent issues arising from Jelbanian opposition to the Deltarian and Vanukean zones within the nation. It is hoped that a trade deal granting Kazulian investment and trade will contribute significantly to the recovery of the Deltarian economy.

We acknowledge recent Kazulian attempts to reestablish friendly relations and would be happy to continue negotiations to a potential trade deal and beyond. Additionally, the Jelbanian situation will need to be sorted out sooner or later as it is clear that the status quo is not working. We will ensure a productive negotiation that also secures Deltaria's national interests.

Most of the other Grand Councillors have announced their public support for Carolus and are willing to help implement his new vision by rolling back the recent progressive reforms and returning to a deregulated free market economy.

Zima buys out State Media and Radio Broadcasters

January 4435

With Black Thursday’s harsh economic conditions now an established reality, the new Deltarian Government under Grand Council Chair Carolus Von Thaller has been scrambling to privatise struggling state owned assets that have become a burden on and taxpayer and the national budget. Recent laws have prompted the government to begin forming a deal to sell both state owned tv and radio. The now old Vladan Zima places the highest value bid of approximately 6 Billion LOD to buyout the companies and has announced plans to reform them into profitable entities. The companies have already been placed on the stock market and it is hoped that new listings such as this one will bring the Cachtice stock exchange back to life.

Zima has gone relatively unharmed by Black Thursday due to sales just weeks before it’s onset and some cheap purchases in the height of the crisis. As the Majatran economies slowly creep back to life, it is expected that he will make quite the sun from the crisis on a whole.

Zima is also rumoured to be planning a revival of the Trans Majatran Railway project that was shelved following the outbreak of the Jelbanian conflict.

Deltarian Economy Slowly Leaving Black Thursday Behind
June 4435

The Black Thursday Crash And it’s legacy have plunged Majatra into its first continent wide recession in decades. Deltaria as one of the top 16 economies and third in Majatra was particularly hard hit coming out of the bloody Jelbanian Conflict. However, postwar economic concession in Jelbania, privatisation of bankrupted state owned industry as well as rumoured negotiations for a 10 Billion Krona Loan from Kazulia is starting to bring the Deltarian economy back to life. The Cachtice stock exchange has been slowly growing for months now much to the benefit of investors such as Vladan Zima who in particular has profited greatly from the increased value of his assets.

The Deltarian Economy is by no means booming but the days of recession are well and truly ending.

Deltaria Planning to join MUN under conditions
January 4437

Following some closed door negotiations, Deltaria looks to be about to join the Majatran Union of Nations as a full member as opposed to the current observer status. Previously, Deltaria had been hesitant to commit fully to the organisation due to fears that membership would restrict Deltarian Sovereignty in terms of freedom of association and economic control. However, promises have been made to invest heavily in the Deltarian economy and an allowance has been made for Deltaria to be allowed to associate with any organisation it chooses on the condition that it puts the MUN first.

Deltarian Grand Council Chair Comments on Zardic, Coburan Dispute
July 4437

Deltaria has kept its distance from the crisis surrounding the Communist Zardic Government with a strategy of non-involvement. However, Grand Council Chairman Carolus Von Thaller has now ordered the Lake Majatra Coast Guard to increase patrols on the Deltarian side of the lake in case people smugglers attempt to get refugees into Deltaria. He has also expressed dismay at Zardugal's Communist direction but believes a sovereign nation should be able to run their own country how they desire.

Deltaria has faced significant hardship at the hands of Radical Socialism and Communism in the past and it is regrettable that the once proud home of the Augustans has gone in that direction. Deltaria will however respect Zardugal's sovereign wishes so long as they do not attempt to expand beyond their borders or engage in mass killings. Our embassy in Zardugal will remain open and our diplomatic staff there will also be staying so long as the current situation remains as it is.

SDLS REFORMS
The Social Democratic People's Party has reformed itself under the leadership of Jakub Mrázek, a former attorney and close friend to the Novak family of the long deceased former Prime Minister
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

It was a day for celebration. The left has finally gotten its chance back at gaining representation with the social democratic people's party reforming itself amongst tensions in the thaller leadership. In a abandoned gym the new SDLS leader, Jakub Mrázek, announced the reformation of the center left political party.

When our party was first created we managed to depose the autocratic Thaller monarch and replace it with a Grand Republic! Now, after all those years, the Thallers have abolished the republic and installed yet another Autocratic leader at the head of our nation. Once again the freedom of our people is at stake. And once again we are forced to fight for those freedoms with the little freedom we still have! Let us all unite, right, left, center, let us all stand together and restore the Grand Republic, to give representation to all and freedom to all! For Deltaria!

Said Jakub Mrázek during the announcement of the party reforming. The Thaller regime has not yet responded on the reformation of the party.
